Quite expensive, compared to other brokers.
Also not suitable for value investors who just wish to buy and hold as they are charging 89 CHF for inactivity.
They claim that they are a real Swiss bank so they have higher costs but even other Swiss banks don't charge this much.
If you're an active investor and trade various products it might be ok for you, but for small, long term investors there are cheaper options available.

I think opening an account at Saxobank was one of the worst decisions in my life.
Excessive holding cost and worst of all, an inactivity fee of 87 euro.
Next challenge is how to liquidate this account.
I am a happy user of Degiro since 3 years : flawless, moderate costs, completely transparent and straightforward to use.

Saxo implemented new security feature, additional verification of external bank accounts. In doing so, they
a) failed to notify me in any way about this
b) wiped out pre-existing account transfer templates, forcing me to re-enter all account data again
Inability to migrate templates / accounts I used numerous times in the past, and forcing the client tov re-enter all the data again is not a massive issue to be frank, but incredibly irritating

The details of the bank account you have used for withdrawing funds from Saxo earlier will not be captured as a part of this new feature.
I am afraid there is no option to reinstate the previously used account templates for Withdrawal.
We kindly request you to follow the help link given below. You would need to provide bank details along with the bank statement so we can add them for future use.
To give Saxo their due, their support responded fast and to the point so far
UPD: Tried to add new account through their web form. It has mandatory IBAN and clearing code field. I am adding account in Russian bank, Russia has not adopted IBAN and Russian account has neither IBAN nor NCC. Guess what? Web form requires IBAN and refuses to submit data without it
Raised it with Saxo support, have not seen a response yet

Good customer support. Could open an account remotely while living in South America. I had to provide quite some financial backgrounds, but that is justified and also beneficial to the customers. Good web interface, takes little time to find your way around. Costs are fair. I only have traded well known US and European stocks, so I cannot comment on any other investment offerings.

Nice trading platform and ok customer support, however fees seem a bit ridiculous. Custody fees for stocks seems to be obsolete with other providers such as Fineco & Hargreaves & Lansdown having no additional charge other than the trade charge, seeing as this is the only value add from trading platforms. After moving my USD shares from my GBP to a USD account, I was then charged a massive inactivity fee on the new account. This was never stipulated when opening the account, however now when I want to close the account because of these new charges, I still have to payback all of these fees. Started off as a good relationship, now I really want to get out.
Update - Further to this Saxo has just doubled my custody fees without notice, moved to 1 star as these guys love adding fees.

This goes for the SAXO BANK netbased trading platforms "saxotrader.com" and "saxoinvestor.dk" - and I still have not understood why they make 2 platforms, and not one platform that contains all they want to offer...
The chain of bad experiences with this platform - well platforms - is too long to write about in detail and to read about if I had the energy to write it - I dont. I am so f...... tired of this (these) platform(s) that I will do this short - hence maby not so usefull for you who reads it.
Anyway: The platform(s) is(are) not made in a way that makes it easy (intuitively) to work with.
I am a very experienced netbank user, and I am a very experienced internetuser and pc user.
Still these platforms left me with lots of questions every time I did - well almost anything at all.
The support is relatively fast - well actually too fast, it seams, because the answers left me with the impression of someone in the other end that did not have time to read, think and write, so the answers were basicly useless to me.
I have no idea how SAXO BANK (wich they claim to be) can be appointed to be the best trades platform... Really !
Sorry that I lack the energy to be more specific in my critics.

I have been with SAXO for several years. Their fee structure is such that it may seem cheap at first, but put all the tiny different fees together (and I am not even including different fees for live prices for "each" Exchange) and suddenly you are looking at one of the most expensive in the market.
But I still stuck with them......UNTIL three things happened.
1. I started to do some currency options (they are new at it), and I realised fees were eating away at most of my very healthy gains. This is when I realised I was being fleeced.
2. I noticed that their candles dont make sense. Normally you expect the end of one candle to be aligned with the beginning of the next. It is often not the case (and I am not talking about "opening gaps"). I raised it with them and they told me they are moving to Tradingview. Fine, but fix the darn thing for crying out loud! why do you keep offering it as a second platform if it is flat out wrong!
3. I had a case when my order was not triggered. I took snapshots of the charts provided by three other platforms whose prices are available on Tradingview and shared with my relationship manager. He looked into it. After an hour he called back and said they will investigate it if I enter a position (even though by now the currency had moved about 30 pips from my original order). I told them I spend hours to do my analysis how do you want me to make a decision over the phone. He said that is the only way to open an investigation!!! So, silly me, I opened a position at this much higher level. The result of the investigation came through within minutes which said SAXO's price did not reach my order level. I have a HUGE problem with this. First of all, if that were true, then at certain times SAXO's prices are sooo different from three other major brokers that you would be at a very big disadvantage if you traded with or trusted them. Secondly, they could have just given me their stupid "template response" without forcing me to open an investigation. Or at the very least they should have told me that these investigations very rarely result in the trader's favour, so I would be a bit more clear about my chances.
For me this last point is a deal breaker. So I am out!

Most Binary option,bitcoin and forex brokers are scam , they will promise you a successful profit return before investing your fund after investment you won’t be allowed to withdraw your profit. I invested $120,000 in Binary option hoping to get my profit after 7 days ,to my surprised they couldn’t allowed me to make a withdrawal.i contacted their customer support team but they requesting for additional fees before they can processed my withdrawal request. The payout system is very slow. It takes almost two weeks to pass a payout from front to back office, before the payout is actually transferred from bank to bank, considering that a payin is on the account almost immediately. I know you want lots of money in the bank, so its value is as high as possible. Me, as a customer, want access to my money also as fast as possible, in case i need it. The rest of the service is very good, so next time you will get four or five stars. Cheers

I am trying to start an ISA account with Saxo (UK) and i have called them up 4 times already to ask some questions about fees and terms (conflicting or lacking information on their website).
Each one of those calls was 10-15 mins of waiting in the queue and ended up me with me giving up.
So that is a total of 40-50 mins i have wasted on the phone.
The really frustrating thing is that on each one of those times i am the only person in the queue!
First impressions matter so i don't think i will be going with them.
What if i really needed to talk to them at some point and have to waste my time (plus the aggravation) waiting in call queues.
They do have an option for a callback if you wait in the queue for some time but lets face that does not mean that anyone indeed call back or within a reasonable amount of time for that matter.
Finally i see that they are very active here but mostly accepting complements from positive reviews and on occasion replying in Danish (i am guessing).
Maybe some of that effort should be better spent on expanding their phone customer support for the UK.
