We booked a holiday using the website only to be called 3 days later to let us know that the holiday we had booked was sold out, they had over-booked it. This was a short-notice holiday we had booked, giving us very little time to make other arrangements. Will never use them again!

Well where do I start first of all I did feel confident when talking to the advisor Georgina ullah who made me feel at ease when booking after I had already waited the 72 confirmation time I was told I couldn't have the holiday I wanted which was fair enough so GEORGINA said she would help find a holiday that would suit me after getting off the phone I felt great finally I had sorted a good holiday after my cancelled booking with thomas cook.. georgina said i would have a confirmation within 15 minute i thought great. 5 hours past so I decided to call back but was unable to speak to georgina and that she would call me straight back again 3 hours past no call but eventually I got an email but not a confirmation but a request for a good review from georgina. again I called holiday gems but still was unable to speak to georgina but around an hour later I received my confirmation but only to realise my whole holiday that had been booked was completely wrong all the flights and the hotel and no baggage I was unaware we had to add this after so maybe this is my fault but everything else is down to holiday gems now everytime I call I am told that no one can speak to me except georgina about the booking but yet she is never available and never called me back!!! I am due to fly on the 2/10 but am unable to due to the flights being wrong and cant talk to anyone to amend my full booking so I decided that the stress is too much and I should just cancel because it's there mistake and its atol protected but I have contacted multiple times and I'm not getting anywhere so I sent an email with all the details for them to tell me I'm not entitled to a refund even though it's not my fault... this company is an absolute joke and I would strongly advise anyone thinking about booking with holiday gems to reconsider there options and look elsewhere this for me has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company and will NEVER use it again!!!!!!! I hope all the employees are ashamed of themselves with how they are treating people it's disgusting!

From the day I booked online to the minute I landed back home was one giant balls up (to put it politely).
I booked a package online and paid in full to be called up the following day to say that there wasn’t actually any rooms in that hotel and I would have to swap along with paying a further £100+ for that privilege!
We let it go and just decided to look forward to the holiday, so when we landed in Barcelona airport we found out that the transportation we had paid for was to be collected from a different airport???? And obviously it was night time so all offices where closed emergency numbers where useless!! We finally managed to get some help and got to our hotel around 2.30am when we landed around 10pm.
Decided to email the lady who called and had emailed previous information over to ask her what was going on with our transportation home as that too was for the wrong airport, I had to email her twice before she even acknowledged it! Then I had to keep emailing for information as she wasn’t very forthcoming! She then sends paperwork through 2 days before we was due to leave only there was no time on collections! I then emailed AGAIN which she informed me “THEY” would let me know 24 hours prior however she didn’t tell me who “THEY” exactly was!! Anyway the day before comes and we still yet to be told anything, I emailed 2 maybe 3 times and was really starting to panic, I ended up asking my mum in the uk to try to help and call to see what was going! Finally a nice lady called me and explained what I needed to do to get the information it was very straight forward if I had only been told this at the beginning it would of saved a lot of aggravation! The best part is that lady who was not very helpful via email, emailed today to inform me she had been off for a couple of days did I get sorted !?? What a joke, I strongly advise you put your out of office on when you are not in work as your customers think you are rude!! I might just reply telling her no I didn’t get sorted and I’m stuck in Spain... not that she would do much to help!!!
I won’t name the lady in question as I know it makes zero difference however, I will never book another holiday with you again first & last!! My mum & mother in law use holiday gems at least twice a year for bargain holidays... they too will never book another holiday with yourselves!!
I need a holiday to get over the stress of worrying about how we was going to get home!!!

Booked a 7 night and 7 day holiday ... or so I thought. We got the booking confirmation through and it was for 6 nights, I called Holiday Gems and was told there was nothing they could do. I asked them if I paid extra could an additional day be added on, they said they would look into it. 2 days later I had to call them to chase it and was told no. I explained that I had seen flights available and checked with the Hotel so I didnt understand why it was a no and was shut down completely. I then emailed them to raise this again, heard nothing after 2 days so sent another email, 1 week later still heard nothing.
Then it was the unfortunate news of Thomas Cook collapsing, we were not kept informed and again I had to do all the chasing. 1 day before we were due to fly I received a call to say our holiday was cancelled. I asked why as we were only flying with Thomas Cook and the hotel was separate and I had seen that they had an alternative flight going out the same day. In fact they were advertising the same weeks holiday at the same hotel as mine for £3,200 ... we paid £800! I was told that I would have to rebook the holiday at the new price! I asked if i could keep the hotel and find my own flights, they said yes. I called them back and still wait to hear from them, my holiday in 12 hours!! Poor, poor service from start to finish and totally upsetting and heart breaking to see my holiday now being sold at 4 times the price. Please dont book, avoid disappointment and massive upset and stress to yourself.

If there was a choice of -5 stars that's what I would rate holiday gems!!! I organised, booked and paid for a 5 star resort in Hurghada, Egypt but when they called me to confirm they then raised the price by £400 plus!! I argued my point but eventually got talked into a different resort called King tut that they said was 4 star hotel..... Got there and their own bar staff told me it was a 1 star hotel. Absolutely horrible place.... Terrible food, terrible drinks, impolite staff, dirty rooms and just all in all disgraceful!!! I emailed Julie from holiday gems about this with no reply at all!! I strongly advise nobody ever use these con artists!! I will be publishing this on every social media site and everywhere I can to save people from the misery I had!!

Thank you so much to Martin1918. Knowledgable, kind and patient he was professional and took all the stress out of booking. Absolute credit to Holiday Gems. Holidays are a nightmare following fall out from Thomas Cook, but Holiday Gems are so helpful and caring. What took three hours with Teletext holidays took 15 minutes with Holiday Gems and at a better price. Very highly recommend. 5 STARS.

Received a call from Agent 210 to advise me that the prices have increased and that my order bounced back, however jane walton helped me look for alternative dates which was the following date it was an extra £100 but the flight times suited us better , she explained to me everything in detail and helped me with the room options. She also asked me if i had already stayed in labranda hotel i said no and she assured me that its a excellent hotel because they have a chain of hotels worldwide. Good customer service from jane.
