I booked a car through Holidays Cars for 3 days in Napels and my pick-up time was 5.30 PM. However, when I arrived at the car rental company they could not give me my car because according to their system the pick-up time was at 8 AM. After contacting Holidaycars they said they could not do anything anymore because it was past the reservation time. Therefore, I asked for a refund because they gave the wrong times to the car rental company. However, instead of a refund they hung up on me and I had to rent a new car last-minute, which was way more expensive then if I pre-booked somewhere legit instead of with the scammers at holidaycars. My advice, never book again with them or their other website bookingmonkey.com!

I wished I had read this before booking with them.
They charged me extra for an insurance that I did not agree to. I called them and they insisted I chose that extra insurance, but I didn't.
Ended up cancelling the reservation, and booking directly with the company as someone here said. Why would I use this intermediary that charged me extra for things I didn't choose?
I think if enough people that got SCAM report it to their credit card companies, they won't be able to keep operating

Our flight was delayed and we didn't end up landing until shortly after midnight, which is after closing time. I tried calling ahead of time (during business hours) to alert the company of the delays but I wasn't able to get through to anyone. It continued routing me through automated responses with no ability to speak to anyone or even the option to leave a voice message. The automated message only gave me the option to send an email, which I did.
Since we weren't able to rent the car I had to rent from an alternate company. All I asked for from HolidayCars was a refund for the car I was never able to rent. I didn't receive any feedback from the first couple of emails I sent. Then I finally received a response almost 2 weeks later, informing me that they would not refund me for anything...despite the fact I contacted them alerting them of the delays and never even acquired the car.
Whenever trying to call to get in contact with anyone in customer service I never get a response, no matter if it is in the morning, mid-day, or evenings during "business hours".
I would strongly encourage anyone contemplating renting through HolidayCars to NOT DO SO! In the event you run into any issues or travel delays you will not be reimbursed or be able to contact anyone to notify them.
Worst customer service I have experienced yet.

In Barcelona, they refused to give us a car and said that insurance was not paid. Instead of 174 euros, 328 euros were additionally charged from us. We refused to pay this amount and tried to record the refusal on video, but they called the airport security to us and said that they would arrest us. We were with two young children and refused a bus to the hotel so there was no turning back.
So we paid Prepayment: 39.78 + 328 euros for them (in attachments)
Please return our money or I will sue!
I also want to say that I was in a foreign country without a phone and tried to contact your support team by asking passers-by for a phone. But the answering machine said that at that time you weren't working!

Beware of fees that do not show in the total when you pay, eg a one-way fee that double the cost of the rental itself.
Yes, there is a fine-print disclaimer, but it is so fine you'll get, after the payment, details in plain text:
"Please be informed the supplier has informed us that upon arrival a one way fee was applied, just as explained already within the rental conditions. The costs for the one way fee are 375.00 EUR excl. VAT to be paid with the supplier"

I obtained insurance through Holidaycar and thought I was verifying it with Budget. Of course, I got charged a stupid amount by both companies. This place is a ripoff. Be very careful if you use this service, they don't care about the confusion of there offerings and the rental agency.
I suggest you stay clear of this website and go directly to the rental company. It may seem higher, but after all the "add-on's", it's not.

I booked a car online through HolidayCars specifically because they had an offer that included an additional driver in the price. Once booked, the voucher also stated 'Additional Driver' in 'The Rate Includes' section. However, when we arrived to the car rental company, they informed us that the booking is for one driver and an additional one is an extra 56 euros. I then called HolidayCars and the lady on the phone told me three times that the fees for the additional driver should be paid directly to the car rental company, even though I told her that their offer clearly states that it's supposed to be included in their price. When I said that their offer is a scam, she just wished me happy holidays.
Bottomline: NEVER BOOK THROUGH HOLIDAYCARS, book direct.

We paid in advance for a rental car in Toulouse. When I arrived, the rental car company refused to give me the car because the credit card number on the voucher was not mine. It was in fact holidaycars's credit number. There were also more than two contracts open under their credit card, which was another reason for refusal. After calling holidaycars (paying international calling on my mobile) multiple times and waiting three hours at the airport rental car company, was told to go and hire another car somewhere else. Holidaycars blamed the rental car company, but we haven't had a problem there before when using the same rental car company though a different intermediary. I was assured I would be refunded including any additional cost in the hire fee. Since then I have not heard anything from them and almost a month on, I am still waiting for a refund. This experience was not only super stressful after a long journey, but costly. My advice is to avoid this company.

I thought the booking didn't go through but then I found out that I was been charged for it.

Pretty complicated process online. ugh more difficult than average. Needless to say I don't like the automatic penalty for cancellation (25%). The partial payment is just weird. Either pay in advance or not. Partial is creepy.MOST IMPORTANTLY requiring print out of the agreement is a serious problem. I'm traveling. Without carrying along a printer. It is not going to be easy or pleasant getting this printed. And do you need all 10 pages? Really? you have it in your computer. I have it on my phone. Why cut down a tree? What does that serve. I mean, you DO have computers, right?

Changing pick-up time within 48 hours of reservation:
It says at the reservation that I can change it within 48 hours at no cost. I went back to change the pick-up time (not date) as at the reservation it just automatically gives noon, but the change was not taken. I changed the time but in the end, it stayed as-is. I am curious to see what is going to happen if we go to pick up the car 2 hours earlier. It could be that it doesn't really matter...

My user experience in the platform has been poor so far.
While I was changing some settings in my reservation, the timeslots ended up being reset and the pick up and drop off time were not the ones I wanted to.
I tried modifying the pick up and drop off time by clicking "modify my reservation" but even though I changed the slots, nothing was actually changed.
I ended up contacting support to ask them if they could do the modification. The answer I got instructed me to click "modify my reservation" and also pick another car type which I did not want to since the price difference was more than double.
I replied to the ticket by letting them know that I only want to modify the time (and not the car or the date) and asked the support if it's possible for them to modify the reservation. I never got another reply.

We hired a car through holidaycars.com for our trip to Scotland in July. When we turned up at the airport we went to europcar which is where our hire car was coming from. All seemed well at first, but then I was informed by europcar that I had to pay for their rental insurance as the one I had purchased was not valid. Europcar informed me that they have told their affiliated companies that the customer would have to purchase europcars insurance. This was not highlighted in holidaycars.com t's and c's, had I known this i would have booked directly with them which would have been cheaper. I wrote to holidaycars.com explaining the situation and quite frankly they said there was nothing they could do once I had signed the agreement. This is the first time I have ever had this problem with renting a car. I will never book with holidaycars.com ever again.

After renting for the first time through Holiday Cars last year, I received a reward for 15% off of my next rental through Holiday Cars. As usual, I checked several sites looking for the best rate this year. When I saw on another site that one agency was running a very special rate, I checked and Holiday Cars site. They had the same special, and allowed me to apply the extra 15% off! This discount was especially valuable since my new rental was almost $500 before the 15% off discount. My only annoyance was that Holiday Cars added an optional insurance charge to my reservation that I had to decline to get the initial rate shown.
