Absolutely awful customer service with no response and no care whatsoever.
Mis lead into signing up for a contract that they will not let me out of.

I been so lucky to find Isaac from Domain Master. He transform my dead looking front yard to a beautiful landscape garden , very honest man, gives you ideas on what you can do on your existing garden, and very reasonable price as he tried to recycle most of what you have in the garden. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a landscaper for sure. thank you to Isaac and hi pages.

I've been both a tradie as well as a homeowner on Hipages so I've been on 'both sides of the fence'. I'm really surprised (but not really) about some of the negative reviews here. There are three sides to every story so let me tell mine.
Fundamentally, Hipages is an advertising tool. They promote my business to customers, some of whom go ahead and others who don't. The fact many (and it really is a lot) of customers go for the cheapest option should come as no surprise to anyone.
Quoting is expensive and I can understand why some business owners would feel upset that they paid for a lead and then invested time in meeting with a lead and preparing a quote, only to be left with nothing at the end of the day. Over and above this, customers can be 'tyre kickers' who perhaps don't appreciate the costs to a business of quoting etc. This is why I tell my salespeople to qualify their leads and make sure the person is a genuine opportunity and not someone simply looking to find out a price before they're committed.
However this would be the case for any marketing exercise on Earth. There are no guarantees and pricing, quality and sales technique are also relevant. It would seem people are taking out their frustration on Hipages when they should be questioning why someone else who paid the same $$$ for a lead managed to get the work they didn't.
I don't think Hipages tradies are any shonkier than anyone else out there as Hipages do make some effort to check bona fides, whereas Google and various other search sites don't.
On the other side of the fence, as a homeowner I've seen how some tradies are slow to respond, if they even turn up, and pricing often varies widely. So I can see why customers might form their own views.
Overall I've found Hipages to be good for our business. Where there have been issues e.g. customers not responding to our calls etc. they've been very quick to issue credits. I'd be happy to suggest any trade business give them a go. It's not for everyone but it's certainly helped us.

Hi pages rip off. Read this before signing a contract. Read their reply you pay to get fake numbers
That’s their catch when you sign in the contract
Thank you for your message. We understand it can be frustrating when part of the customer contact details are not correct but as we do provide 3 possible options for contact, these are still regarded as genuine leads as at least part of the details have been validated on each lead. The other reason we haven't been able to reverse these leads is because we have already credited quite a significant number of your leads back to you.
It is important to remember that the service you are subscribed to is a pay per lead one and not one where you only pay if you quote/win the job. You are effectively buying the validated contact details of the customer from us to try and turn that lead into a job. There does need to be some expectation that some leads will not work out and these need to be factored into your overall cost of advertising with us. We do provide additional credit each month to help offset the cost but ultimately it is your return on investment on successful jobs that is the key indicator of success.
If you are not doing so already, it may be worth keeping the details of all the leads you accept as this information can be used for future marketing campaigns external

Anyone one can start up a business, that does not mean they are any good at what they do, Hipages probably means well, some tradies do not, I now use the local google search

This company is only interested in getting money from tradies and listing them on their website.
They do not quality control the tradesmen and do little but refer you to the courts if you have problems with the trades people you hire off their site.
Strongly recommend you do your own research before hiring anyone off this website

A friend of mine told me hipages pays Google every time someone clicks on their ad when on google. They also said the more people that do this every day the more hipages has to pay google. Then they said if anybody had an issue with hipages, sounds like A lot of people out there are having issues, to click a hipages ad 10 times a day every day while youron Google.
Clearly whoever wrote the last review is either an employee of hipages or somehow on the payroll.
I love how they went the sales pitch at the end. I'm a top tradie, yeah I can say it because it's true, I'd never use hipages again. If a client wanted a job done properly and professionally, stay away from hipages. This site is a race to the bottom and when this is the case, there are no winners (except hipages laughing all the way to the bank). Hipages have no real control of who lists on their site, don't be fooled by anyone telling you otherwise. They are there to do one thing, make maximum money for minimal effort. And anyone you speak to if you need assistance at hipages, is Filipino. I love speaking with Filipinos, they're the pinnacle of society............
When you have paid to quote on a job that doesnt exist, ie the client is just curious, not to mention time and fuel etc then 3 tradies have just been dudded. It's not the clients fault, as they don't know this.
Why people wouldn't just pick up the paper or Google search a local tradesman or ask their friends boggles the mind. This way you have a realistic shot at having a quality individual show up at your door and will have a reputation to uphold so therefore, should any problem arise, they will be able to be contacted again, not disappear.

Hello all contractors looking to get membership with Hi Pages
I reviewed Hi Pages online and spoke to fellow contractors that are or have been linked with Hi pages in the past and all had poor reviews and experiences and were waiting for membership contracts to end to cancel the membership. STUPIDLY I joined up for a 6 month $99 plan per month where you get $125 of lead credit per month. I signed up on the 18th of December 2019 and my account went active late in the afternoon of the 18th. I got a lead for a job later that night via email and I accepted the lead at 4.30am in the morning. By accepting the lead $20 was deducted from my lead credit. I instantly messaged the customer requesting the work and at 5.45am she informed me that she had already awarded the work to another contractor from Hi Pages for the job the PRIOR day. So in short I accepted a lead and got billed for the details of a customer whom I was suppose to quote for a job who had already awarded the job to another contractor some 12 hours prior.
Thinking this was a legitimate mistake I rang Hi Pages and explained the situation believing the lead credit would be reimbursed however they refused to reimburse stating it was a genuine lead. I asked them to look at the situation with common sense however they refused stating it was a genuine lead even though the job had been awarded some 12 hours prior to accepting the lead. This amounts to putting in a tender or quote for a job after the tender or quote has been awarded and being billed for it.
In the contract there is a 2 day cooling off period therefore I requested the membership to be cancelled. They refused to put me onto the account closure section and stated they were busy and they would call me back in three days (1 day after the expiration of the cooling off period.) I rang back and was transferred and hung up on for the next 2 hours. Every time I explained the situation they refused to reimburse the account stating it was a genuine lead even though I didn't even get the opportunity to quote on it. Then in the terms and conditions they stated because I accepted a lead in the first 2 days I could no longer cancel the contract under the cooling off period. After numerous arguments and being hung up on numerous times they stated they would reverse the $20 lead credit as a one off gesture of good will.
Hence I am now stuck with this contract for 6 months. In addition to this the cost of lead credits vary from job to job however the job I got the initial lead for was a $20 lead to replace 3 switches and a light. Another job with an $11 lead was to install 3 new fans and replace an existing fan. Therefore the cheaper job replacing switches which would have taken 1 hour cost $20 in lead credit and the job installing the fans which would have taken a half to a full day only cost $11 in lead credit. Work that out. I would have thought the more costly the job the higher the lead credit and no this job was not a discounted lead credit.
In addition to this they exaggerate the leads per day especially for electrical work. The figure they quoted was around 6 leads per day for my area and you are lucky to get 2 to 3 per day some of which are useless jobs.
In summary I should have took the advice from the poor reviews and other tradesman who used Hi Pages previously. If you are a contractor PLEASE don't waste your money. The system is not fair at all. If I quoted on a job and missed out I would have no issue with this however when I accept a lead and get billed for it only to find out the job was rewarded the previous day this is extremely unfair.
Following on from this I decided to give it another go. At 4.56pm on Thursday the 18th of December 2019 I received another lead for a simple job to replace 2 x lights. The lead price was $17. I accepted the lead at 6.47pm and was given the customers details. I immediately messaged the customer to ask about the job and she informed me it was done earlier today by another Hi Pages contractor. So once again they are advertising leads for jobs that are complete. They have taken $17 in lead credit from my account so I could get the details of a customer to provide a quote for a job that was done earlier today. You can't make this stuff up. I am taking the matter further now through NSW Fair Trading and the Daily Telegraph consumer complaints section until I get out of this contract otherwise I will continue to post honest reviews on facebook and websites until something is done.
PLEASE think twice before going with Hi Pages.

Three tradesmen pay for the right to quote on jobs sometimes they are 40 to 60 dollars and one or even none will get the job. I recieved over 200 emails in 4 days of apparent leads which makes me suspicious on how many are genuine? I picked a few and contacted the people but received no reply but was still charged for the privelege,it was my understanding that whomever won the job and was assigned then was charged.
Find it hard to believe that a company like this could get a good public profile and even get on tv,how much where the lead costs to quote on the jobs for the block, hate to think!

What a joke .Great customer service signing you up and taking $298 membership fee peryear but not letting you know its about to be renewed or asking if you would like to renew membership .Oh but if you have a problem even if you ring when they just open for business .wait 3 to 5 days gimmic .
This is more about making money you themselves them looking after the client . Hugely over priced leads for small jobs .ie replace or repair ceiling fan lead $28 . What iam going to try and win a job and make bugger all where hi pages profit $84 .Gimmic .
If you are just starting out in business stay away from hipages as you will lose money fast . gimmic gimmic gimmic

I just don't use anyone from there.

Obviously HIPages sell our contact info to web and google scammers. Massive bombardment after signing up with HIPages ,tried to say they were looking at my website which I have none.. so beware when you sign up. Leads contacts are not “ verified” if you want to see for yourself put an ad up and see if you are texted and emailed before your ad is posted. Have got work but get massive amount of tyre kickers, fake leads, and or do not reply why would they no monitory punishing for them

Had a basic bathroom done - guy buggered off after getting the final payment while waiting for a window......shower has now leaked and turns out the ABN and License quoted on the site are as dodgy as the work done. The ABN was cancelled in May and the license belonged to his business partner. He tried threatening and intimidating my wife and I and the license holder threatened us and laughed. Dont give up though - got an independent report done outlining all code violations. Get a case number from QBCC and file the complaint. Hit ASIC and the ATO - they are particularly unhappy with businesses not paying tax. All these things come together and even if you cant get your money back you owe it to the next sap who falls for their bullsh*t claims.
As for HiPages - they claim to vet all tradies against Licenses and ABN registries (allegedly). The ACCC has very simple guidelines that need to be followed......if they dont do what they claim you dont get involved with their various departments - you just drop them some documents in the mail courtesy of any first year law student! Then wait for the fun to begin.

I noticed that the review I put up for a tradie that was poor was ignored. I understand this is illegal, and that you cannot decline a poor review. The builder in question is under investigation and we are $500K out of pocket, and almost a year late on our build. I'm actually horrified to think that you are assisting him in his poor delivery of services.
I am the 3rd client he has done this too. Others are already going through VCAT process, I will be next.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience with one of the businesses. I'm unable to see any feedback you left for a business using this account. May we ask for the name of the business you are referring to so we can look it up? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Joanne, His name is Daniel Poyton - Nashcon
Daniel Poynton Building Services
I would bet money on the fact that most reviews are not quite legit. We are almost 2 years into a build with lockup still not completed. The workmanship is horrific, and the damage done to our property has been appalling. There is no toilet on site and his trades goes to the bathroom any where on our property and we have to collect the toilet paper! The VBA are investigating him , but whilst this happens he is just continuing on with his poor quality work.
Jhanna C 2:19 PM
Hi Madonna, Your feedback has been marked against the business and we will closely monitor moving forward. At hipages, we do not promote negative feedback, as all feedback both good and bad is reviewed by hipages. We take negative feedback as well as complaints very seriously and we use them to evaluate the businesses we have on our platform. Should you wish to take this matter further, please let us know. Again, we apologise for the experience that you had with Daniel Poynton Building Services. Let us know if we can help you with anything else. Kind regards, Jhanna

Hi Jhanna, Does this mean that negatives reviews are not published against the trademans listed?? Thanks Madonna
Michelle O 4:17 PM
Hipages is not a review site however if you have hired the tradie and shared your feedback with the business, It will have an impact to the star rating on the tradie profile. A star rating is a calculation of customers that have hired and would or would not recommend the business. Also by providing the feedback and sharing this with the business, this will give the business an opportunity to improve their service. Kind Regards, Michelle

Interesting, as I have been advised that there were poor reviews listed against Daniel Poynton from 2015 on line, which have been removed. A number of them. You are a review site as you publish reviews. By not publishing poor reviews you are facilitating poor builders to continue their exploitation of consumers. You need to make a decision as to publishing all reviews good or bad, or publishing nothing. I will be making a formal complaint to ACCC, as I now have 4 clients I have found that have had a poor experience. Daniel is currently involved in 2 court proceeding and I will make it 3. All cases have the same issues. Daniel is also being investigated by the VBA. Selective publishing of information regarding a tradesman, constitutes promotion of poor trades at our expense. If I Daniel had been a professional builder and had we been able to work through any finance issues he had, we would not be issuing a review. What we are trying to do, which you are not, is protect our fellow consumers from finding themselves in the position we are now in.
I actually found our architectural service through you, which has also been a disaster.
Darnel F 12:53 PM
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience with one of the businesses. We have marked this against the business account so we can closely monitor them moving forward.
Should you require further assistance, please let us know.
Warm regards, Darnel
Madonna Derks 8:54 AM
You obviously missed the point. You are promoting with good reviews, tradesmen who are not honest nor providing a good quality service. Your response is appaling really. You would have been better not to respond, as now it seems to me that you are not taking my complaint seriously.
As previously mentioned, ACCC are taking a very dim view of review sites that hide information, of which you have very clearly demonstrated that you do.

Im starting to think its all fake. we have had about 5 jobs from hi pages but when your spending $20 per lead just to be able to contact the customer who posted quote it adds up. they should be putting the lead price if job is accepted by poster not just to get info.

I used 3 different tradies from hipages when doing renovations. All 3 ended up being horror stories. 2 were not liscenced and all 3 did not complete the job they quoted for. 2 of them actually coned full payment and then failed to complete the work.
I thought hipages would only use reputable liscensed tradesmen. But seems they list anyone.

Made an enquiry to Hipages as a sole trader with the goal of signing a 6 month contract to promote my business. The concept was for me to receive leads from potential customers. The interaction which I had with a Sales Advisor at Hipages was unprofessional due to the negative attitude of the person. When I requested to speak to a Business Consultant the female Sales Advisor became irrate to the extent that she became abusive on the phone. I suspect her ego was hurt and consequently she became for won't of a better word, abusive. With News Corp being a significant shareholder in Hipages, my best suggestion is for the senior management of News Corp to review the policy guidelines of staff behaviour at Hipages.
Oneflare is by far more professional in all aspects.

I listed my Business with some trepidation as there is not a category that correctly describes my Service. I realised the impact of this in the 2 day cooling off and called Hi Pages and spoke with Antonio. I reminded him that I could get leads from persons where the service they want is not what I provide. He said to simply decline. I also said that he kept calling their fees "Lead Fees" - surely I only pay if I win the job? He assured me that was the case - I only pay if I win the job therefore I am simply paying the $11 fee (for a $200 job) out of my earnings, so all good right? Apparently that is a blatant lie. 3 days later I get my first Lead for a service that I can actually provide. I call the lady to find that the job was actually completed days ago, before I even joined Hi Pages. I called HI Pages to find that I have paid $18 for that Lead which was not even a lead anymore! Hi Pages now tell me leads are $20 each for each and every lead whether I win the job or not!!! With the undercutting that is evident by service providers on the site, I am betting that I will win Zero jobs and be out of pocket around $20 each time!! What a scam! No way, I'm getting out of Hi Pages after I give the Manager a piece of my mind!
