I used 3 different tradies from hipages when doing renovations. All 3 ended up being horror stories. 2 were not liscenced and all 3 did not complete the job they quoted for. 2 of them actually coned full payment and then failed to complete the work.
I thought hipages would only use reputable liscensed tradesmen. But seems they list anyone.

Made an enquiry to Hipages as a sole trader with the goal of signing a 6 month contract to promote my business. The concept was for me to receive leads from potential customers. The interaction which I had with a Sales Advisor at Hipages was unprofessional due to the negative attitude of the person. When I requested to speak to a Business Consultant the female Sales Advisor became irrate to the extent that she became abusive on the phone. I suspect her ego was hurt and consequently she became for won't of a better word, abusive. With News Corp being a significant shareholder in Hipages, my best suggestion is for the senior management of News Corp to review the policy guidelines of staff behaviour at Hipages.
Oneflare is by far more professional in all aspects.

I listed my Business with some trepidation as there is not a category that correctly describes my Service. I realised the impact of this in the 2 day cooling off and called Hi Pages and spoke with Antonio. I reminded him that I could get leads from persons where the service they want is not what I provide. He said to simply decline. I also said that he kept calling their fees "Lead Fees" - surely I only pay if I win the job? He assured me that was the case - I only pay if I win the job therefore I am simply paying the $11 fee (for a $200 job) out of my earnings, so all good right? Apparently that is a blatant lie. 3 days later I get my first Lead for a service that I can actually provide. I call the lady to find that the job was actually completed days ago, before I even joined Hi Pages. I called HI Pages to find that I have paid $18 for that Lead which was not even a lead anymore! Hi Pages now tell me leads are $20 each for each and every lead whether I win the job or not!!! With the undercutting that is evident by service providers on the site, I am betting that I will win Zero jobs and be out of pocket around $20 each time!! What a scam! No way, I'm getting out of Hi Pages after I give the Manager a piece of my mind!

I have had two people from Hipages agree that you charge too much for 80% of leads. The six leads I paid for on Hipages resulted in me calling, sending a text to the listed number and then messaging on the Hipages app. I did not receive one bit of contact back. Every mobile no didn't have a voice mail and therefore leads me to believe HiPages is a scam and create fake jobs to take your money via phone call & SMS. Please avoid them at all costs being a business. I must admit if you are a tight bum customer wanting three individual quotes to fix a powerpoint, it's perfect. Just remember the three people quoted have each paid approx $15 for the privilege to quote your job. Although Hipages offer a 48HR cooling off period as soon as you accept a job you lose your chance to exit the contract and get your money back; therefore, you can't genuinely try before you buy.

I chose HiPages as I required work done by qualified tradespeople. My experience ( that I should have realised at the time) began with incessant inquiries about the choice of tradesperson when there had not been ample time for any to attend, and the one I had spoken with ( who was to attend) would be in three days time. He didn’t show, messaged him, hours later tells me by return message his mobile broke on weekend. The person I finally had come to my house was a complete disappointment. As with another reviewer, he’d outsourced the work and the subcontractors had been given little information and it was for the most basic part of the job—which could not be done in a professional manner, and would not enable me to have the other parts done ( that were the reason for the work in the first place. Nothing was in line with my original request, and I kept acquiescing as I kept getting texts from the person pressuring me. And I was to buy the parts for the job. And had to ask for measurements. And I didn’t buy the parts. It was a terrible experience. I paid for the two products he sourced, and they’re lying here. I will not allow him to come back. If there is any harassment, there will be problems for him. He was completely unprofessional. He wanted money-cash.

I used this company to try to find a gardener. I selected one based on the positive reviews published. I did not know then that this site does not publish negative reviews. The gardener I hired was dishonest, incompetent and unreliable and I sacked him very quickly. I posted a truthful review to alert other people but my review was never published so now other people will make the mistake I did and hire someone who is a liar and a cheat.

I have advertised on hi pages and used the leads app, my opinion is it's mostly a scam.
Lots of the leads are bogus, phone number is not connected or no email is ever returned. lots of the leads are people with no intention of hiring they just want a price for their own curiosity,
When I tried to cancel my subscription they keep telling me someone has to call me back from another department, which they never do, then they try to say your in a contract and there's early termination fees. seems like there's so many people in the same boat...
Solutiin cancel your bank card or close the account down tell Rodney from hi pages to eat a d#[email protected] and wait for the fake debt collectors to try and scare you into paying more money they give up after a couple of calls.
Don't forget to report them to there sham tactics to the ACCC and spread the word to everyone you can

I went through Hi Pages to have a palm tree pruned they had a promotion where you receive $50 off if the quote was over $100 which i qualified for however when the job was finished the trades person was not informed of the discount promotion which ended up in a embarrassing dispute in the morning on my driveway tradesman was polite to me however i called Hipages for this to be cleared up and after a long arguement between Hipages and the tradesman i was told by Hipages to pay the full amount without the discount or the rubbish from the job would be dumped on my front lawn .I asked Hipages to refund me the promotional discount and their reply was they do not refund i pointed out that the problem was between Hipages and the tradesman as they failed to communicate to their team and therefore they should honour the promotion as advertised via email to me and refund me they still said no refunds would be given therefor i would highly NOT RECOMMEND ANY ONE USE HI PAGES AS THEY ARE NOT A TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY

Lacks basic app features. As soon as I post a job, my phone starts going off with constant ringing and texts, rather than trades communicating through the app. Isn’t the point of the app that I didn’t have interest or time in being on the phone all day? Let alone privacy.. why can’t trades communicate through the app and then you share you phone number later if you want to move ahead, rather than Hipages broadcasting it at the start? Also there is no way to filter for local trades, almost like a gumtree km radius, which is a shame. I said to a trade from far away that I was really looking for local, but they said they’d paid for the lead so wanted the job! Hipages seems like a simple concept that is poorly executed. Also can’t turn email notifications off, so I’m getting emails, app notifications, calls and texts - four types of communication!! Deleting the app and going back to direct enquires.

I own a business and I discovered HiPages had uploaded all my website info, pictures, about us, reviews, under another companies name. I dont even have a HiPages account so firstly I wondered why all my info was on there website, but as i looked closer i saw some other guys details with all my company information.
When I contacted HiPages and asked them to investigate they simply told me 'No this client has been verified so they are legitimate' I could not seem to convince them that the other guy had all my company details on his HiPages profile.
When I finally got onto management, they basically told me it was my fault because I didn't have enough security on my website and the other guy had told them to take photos off my website so they just took my photos and details and advertised them as his company.
DO NOT TRUST THEM, THEY ARE A FRAUD AND SCAM ARTIST!

If I could give them a zero and the finger...I WOULD, NEVER! use Hipages to adivertise your business or look for sevices for that matter, the leads are fake, don't respond to emails, calls, or even messages on the dashboard on the app, I told them give me leads that are 20ks far but all I got was leads that are 45 to an hour away, jobs are sometime unrelated to my business service's, and had this one as$!&%e say you to slow in responding which was in minutes of my text???. Waste my money and time in this scam sevices, please don't use (Hipages) for ANYTHING!!! I lost money which I could of use to put food on the table but instead it went to these Fu&@s at least put this experience in to good use to help others who are trying to earn a living and stop others into thinking of useing them and help spred the word so one day these scamartes will go out of business, HONEST REVIEW, take care.

Absolutely appalled by the last business I hired through hipages. What was meant to be a small job $1100 escalated to $12670. We went for full weekends without any lighting, power or heating in the middle of winter while this scam artist would arrive at this own leisure, quoting prices as it suited him. No quote was given at the onset of work, multiple payments requested ( no credit card thanks, this doesn’t work for me!!!). The work is incomplete, there is no sign of him, my light switches now spark and I have no outdoor porch lighting as he somehow disconnected it...
To make matters worse, when I put in a complaint the operator was laughing and cut me off half way....

I totally agree
It’s all a scam all they want is your fee for the lead And your monthly subscription
As a tradie I couldn’t wait till the year is over.
It doesn’t matter how much I complained
And many times I asked to terminate my contract they refused
Unfortunately that’s the way it was

I can't believe that a company like this can exist. Do not sign up with this company if you are a tradie. They can help themselves to your bank account and accidentally overcharge when they like. Once you try to question them nobody can help you. I also found it interesting that when you are signed up you speak to someone in Australia but as soon as you need help you speak to someone in a Phillipino call centre that is always unable to help you. It is ridiculous that you can not sort out anything through emails with this company. Trying to cancel your account takes forever because you have to wait for somebody to get back to you which will always be up to 7 working days. I was promised some money returned but still am yet to see it. I will be trying to warn as many people as possible. This behaviour should be illegal.

Zero stars: I'm a tradie and nearly signed up but the constant phone calls from Wendy(Jackie Lamby voice!)asking if I was ready to sign up were starting to bug me. Just got off the ph with her and after I told her I never give my credit card details over a ph, she said it's ok we destroy the recordings we don't keep them and besides...the Commonwealth Bank guarantees it all. Eh I said? How does it do that then? She couldn't answer and I said I'm not paying over the ph I'll pay via an email or on your website. Oh you can't do that you can only pay on the phone. I said: Wendy, your on an unsecured mobile ph, I have your number so I'll pay on a fully encrypted website or do you have Paypal? No she said.Alright then I'll pay on the website.
There is absolutely no contact numbers or email on their site. Alarm bells were ringing. Type "HiPages scam?" into Google..lol lol lol! Look what we have here! HiPages is a scam everywhere you look on Google.
Needless to say I won't be signing up. Caveat emptor people. Don't touch them with a ten foot barge pole.
