inexistent customer service. impossible to solve problems , only automatic Bot, and at the desk when you pick up the car they insist to sell you many services unrequested and inconveniences .pay attention

After renting a car at Kayak/Priceline , I had received an incorrect pickup at some private airport location. So I called Hertz to have it corrected, I was told it would be honored at Boston Airport. When I arrived at the airport, it was not honored. I was told I would either find my way to the other place 29 miles away(didnt me tell me it was a private airport.) or I could rent a car at twice the price. So I began calls( at least 20) Speaking to several people and alas I was even lied to about cancellation of the reservation. Hertz wanted to blame Kayak or Priceline for the issue and visa versa. Neither of the companies cared to return my money. So I have filed a complaint with my CC folks. Needless to say I will not do business with Hertz. I will not do business with Kayak or Priceline. Very disappointed with these companies customer service. I will not recommend them to anyone and will do my best to discourage folks from using these companies.

Humble, Texas store Definitely needs to train staff on customer service. Placed in car that was dirty. Up graded to another car which appeared somewhat cleaner. Drove from store to my home arriving sick to my stomach from vomit smell in car. Was told I could not exchange car because I had already upgraded to 2nd car. Customer beware! Choose another rental agency.

Hertz Mykonos: next to airport. Rented a car for a few days - all good. When I returned the car and they inspected the car and said there was fresh paint scratches on the wheel arch and either I did it or someone did it to the car whilst you were parked. I always take photos of the car before riding of in full view of the staff. This is for two reasons; 1) you have your own record 2) hopefully this will deter them doing any funny business if they are that type of company. I showed them my photos and then the manager said “oh yes this is filed on the system” (how convenient). This is the first time I have ever had to use my photos to prove it was not my fault. After many car rentals all over the world without any issues, I was actually not going to take any this time round - thank god I did! Unfortunately Hertz Mykonos (right next the airport) is one of those places where they will evidently try to blame you and get you to pay for other people’s mistakes. Make sure you take photos before you leave and ride off!

Hertz in Tallinn, Estonia is the worst car rental place that I have ever dealt with. First, I called to confirm my reservation with them and told them that our flight would be arriving at 1 am. Our flight ended up being delayed and arrived at 1:40 am. We walked to Hertz, fully expecting them to be there waiting for us but when we got there, the office was closed and no one was around. We called the 24 hour number and they said they didn't know we were coming on a flight so they left. They said they could drop off the car at our hotel at 9 am. We said okay and took a cab to our hotel. 9 am came around and no car or phone call from Hertz. We called them at 9:15 and they said they can't leave their desk because they are the only one working and that we would have to go to the airport to get the car. We got in a cab and went to the airport. When we arrived at Hertz, there were two people at the desk and I asked them why they couldn't drive the car over as promised and he said it was because they were busy. They didn't even apologize for us having to take a cab back and forth just to get a car. My team and I had a 10:30 meeting downtown and were late by ten minutes because of the incompetence of these Hertz people. I am going back to Tallinn in a couple of months and I will not rent from them again. I highly recommend no one rents from Hertz Tallinn, Estonia.

Never understood how stupid Hertz is and how it treats its consumers, Ive had my fair share of BS managers and issues with cars with Hertz, but didnt realize they were going broke to charge a $50 cancel fee? Didnt realize that Hertz has 2 polices when it comes to rentals Deals on rentals that they force you to pre-pay and were overing charging you rentals that hold the rental with with card. If your renting and hold the vehicle you cancel within 24hrs to get a refund but if you have a deal on a rental and prepay and cancel 5 days before the rental they want to charge you a $50 cancel fee even though the rental was $77? This company must be lousiest and untrustworthy company there is. They will go out of their way to hide fees, top up your bill and confuse you with lingo and fee structures that would make an accountant feel stupid.
I rented a car in Italy and they are continuously, even 3 months after (!) the rental has been completed, billing me for more. 30€ here and there, like I wouldn't notice. It couldn't be due to damage of the car, given that there was no damage to the car and given the fact that I purchased their lousy Super Cover insurance policy.
If you can find another company that will rent you a car, please use that company.

Being a gold member stepping into airport to pick up my rental that was not there, they wouldn’t take my debit card even tho as a member your allowed to pay with debit aside from credit card being on file, not to mention the rental fee increased $200 The website doesn’t disclaim this.. So now for Hertz I do not recommend using these clowns at all! FALSE ADVERTISING, FALSE CLAIMS, MISINFORMATION, MISLEADING SALES, FALSE BUSINESS PROFILE, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, SUBSTANDARD SALES TECHNIQUE, LACK OF DECENCY FOR CUSTOMERS 100%. Until I have CEO on the phone with an apology I will not stop til they are held accountable for there misleading business practice. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM, THEY ARE MAKING FOOLS OUT OF DECENT PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Poor choice to charge people $140.00 for a 1 day rental. Remember consumers, if you need a rental, even when they have cars they will rob you blind with a smile on their face. WILL STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANOTHER RENTAL SERVICE.

AVOID HERTZ. They will steal your money somehow. This is the second time I book with them and the second time I have problems (I often book cars with other companies with no problems). The first time I was charged by 70 euros because they said I had driven around 400 km in 1.5 day when I was only in Luxembourg city. Even if I wanted it would be just impossible. I also was charged for a insurance I didn't hire (For this money they refunded me after complaining). Now, 2 weeks ago I was charged by 625 NOK in Norway (around 60 euros) for a "out of opening time" when but I included the flight number and time when booking and they never told me I'd pay this fee, even when I picked up the car nobody said anything, only few days after returning the car I received this invoice. Do you think it's enough? It's not. Together with the 625 NOK I was charged for the autoPASS by 125 NOK and today, after a week about the first invoice, I received another one with the autoPASS again! The same value. The worst company ever.

August 29-31, 2019 I rented a car for 2 days I made sure to return the car with a full tank of gas, I waited in line for 24min just to pump gas due to hurricane dorian, I received a charge of $ 138.47 for fuel service, because I didn't have a receipt as proof. What the hell 138 for gas ( thief, lies) I called complained I was charged $50 for gas refused the remaining balance, smh

My bad experience started when trying to rent. 1st the phone operator was rude and hung up on me 3 times before ever getting vehicle. Then they wouldn't deliver the vehicle. 2nd after renting vehicle, noticed all the inside windows was wiped down with a dirty cloth (nasty looking), causing visual problems. 3rd car had tire problems (I had air put in tires 3 times) Hertz didn't want to deal with the problem. I was told I would have to pay for the tire repair myself. I will never rent from Hertz again.EVER
Employees are really rude and not willing to talk to you on the phone, instead choosing to hang up on customers.

HERTZ Car Rental- DOES NOT provide safe OR mechanically operational rental cars-EVER! They DO NOT fix them or even care if you or your family are safe and will FIGHT you in Court to escape any accountability rather than replace or repair the rental car during your time of usage and make excuses why they WILL NOT bring you a working vehicle and if they do, you pay for the extra days "without" transportation until they do!! Your safety is the least of their concern and will fight you every step of the way!!
Not to mention the Rudeness and uncaring attitude they "ALL" have towards their Consumers.
When you pay for something and it is not provided to you, HERTZ expects YOU to pay the price for their negligence and and have NO concern for your safety!
I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY (HERTZ) AGAIN-

Over charge. I Will NEVER be renting from this company again. Originally tried to charge me 250 a day....asked the lady if I look like a dummy. The lowest she went was 115 witch still came out to 170 a day. This was with out adding insurance or anything else with it. This was for a standard car..nothing fancy...your basic Nissan Altima. That will be the last time I ever spend with them.

This is the worst rental company ever! If I can give it no stars I would. Warning!! This place double charge their customers for a rental car. Example if you rent from them they will bill you to your credit/debit card take your money to turn around & charge you again one big lump some of the total after you return the vehicle. Although they’ve been billing you weekly. It takes 5-7 business days before your bank will release the hold of the money they were billing you weekly on. So they really done double charged you. They must have so many complaints that they have a phone number to call where they tell you how it works. And point out no matter what bank you have the hold won’t be released no sooner than 5-7 business days. So good luck I will never ever rent from this place again!

I had an absolutely horrible experience at Hertz Airport location but my complaint is to their company in general. On August 15th I used Hotwire to book a rental in advance for August 29, 2019 (long weekend). I have a G2 license not a full G so I looked online about rules for G2 holders. I couldn't find anything concrete and their site doesn't offer that information and so I called Hertz and on the phone and spoke to a gentleman named Dale. I was told that yes I could rent with a G2 but would be subject to an underage fee if I'm under 25. I'm 34 so I'm fine there. So I felt good about the rental but I still felt a little worried about the license. I know I can buy a car with a G2 and everyone I spoke to said I should be fine. So a week before my rental date I called again but this time I called the airport Hertz location since that's where I was renting from, just to be sure and spoke to Angela. I asked the same thing and also mentioned I'm 34. She said yes I can rent no problem. So phewf I'm good to go for the long weekend as my boyfriend and I had paid reservations to go white water rafting among other things. So after work I took the bus to the airport and got over to Hertz only to be told that no I could not rent with a G2. Apparently the policy changed in January which doesn't explain why I was told by two different people that I could. Instead I wasted my time and money to get to the rental place and got nothing. I'm very VERY disappointed by their lack of knowledge about their own policy and more so their lack of effort at good customer service. I will not recommend their company to anyone.

We booked Hertz for a 10 day stay in Iceland. Couldn't fault the car as it was exactly what we hired. However when we were given the keys and told to 'go and check the car' we spent a long time checking the body work and photographed a scratch they had not identified. We were focused on the body work and trim. It was some four hours later we realised that low down on the windscreen there was a small chip which we had not spotted (not in line of sight) so we instantly took a photograph of it.
When arriving back the guy went out and examined the car. He did not see either of the two points we highlighted. We pointed out the scratch (which wasn't on their sheet) to be told 'yes we know, it's in our system' and we showed them the chip and was told 'you must have done that whilst driving'. There is no way that we would not have heard a noise if the chip had happened and it's to our regret that we didn't examine under the windscreen wipers and all around the window edges.
We know we had not made that chip. No one came out to examine the car with us and if we hadn't highlighted the two points who knows what we might have been charged? So extremely disappointed that we were charged £165 for a chip we didn't make - we had little choice but to pay as the guy would only shrug and say 'I'm doing my job'.
Don't go with Hertz. We were 100% honest and were treated like rubbish.

Worst business transaction ever. Rented a car for a day from Glacier international airport(Kalispell) to Salt Lake international airport. Rented around 12pm and dropped off same day at 9pm. They charged credit card for 3 day use $574.18. Called them on there wrongful doings and got the bill down to $396.22. They were not upfront about costs. Said it would be $150 for the day. We will never use Hertz again.

Hertz does not let you see the contract as you are signing the box and initialing. Never ask for a destination on your trip nor notify you that if you cross the Mississippi River you are out of geographical location for the unlimited mile plan. Charge and extra 500.00 and charge your credit car without authorization. When you try to contact customer service it is a joke. No one answers for billing period and they won't email back either. Worst experience and I will never use Hertz again.

Great Service, vehicles, and rates. We dropped our car off before the kiosk was open to catch our flight so left the keys in their drop box and once we boarded my teenage daughters realized they left $300 cash in birthday cards in the backseat which the Hertz staff took off our bill before charging my VISA. I then called two years later asking for another copy of the bill to be emailed to me because I was getting audited by CRA and my PC had died which they found and emailed within 10 minutes

We filled our car with gas right before returning it and they claim it was 6.99 gallons from being full. Of course it's their word against ours. Charged us $80!! This is total BS. Do not use Hertz car rental unless you want ripped off.

Let me start by saying I have been renting through hertz for many years without any problems, and have always recommended them. This by no means is directed to the ladies at my local office this is directed at the customer service department. At the end of July I got into a car wreck and used them for a rental as I trusted them, after the allotted period that insurance company was going to cover the body shop that was repairing my personal vehicle took over paying for the rental, great right? lol no cause myself and the body shop manager for 1 week tried explain that they would be covering the rental charges, finally hertz was on the same page saying that their computer systems were communicating with each other. Few days go by I notice that hertz had charged my CC instead of billing the dealership, I called customer service and basically told to pound salt. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HERTZ TO ANYONE ANY MORE, I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL NOT AND THE DEALERSHIP DOING MY REPAIRS HAS PULLED THIER CONTRACTS.
