I am glad we chose Happy Campers for our rental in Iceland. We went in November 2019 which gave use a discounted hire rate, making our holiday in Iceland as cheap as they come! They were reliable and friendly in their communications. We hired the van Happy 2 for myself and my girlfriend for 5 days. The van was a simple camper conversion but with everything you need including a very effective heater (we were camped in -8 degrees on some nights and in snow!) excellent fridge and even a sink with running water. Tristan from Happy Campers was very friendly and laid back. He did a good job of picking us up at the airport, offering us friendly advice and reassuring us by making a detailed examination of the vehicles condition prior to rental. We took out the gravel insurance as an extra which I would recommend. We had the BEST 5 days in Iceland. So much so we can't wait to return next year, hire the VW 4x4 with Happy Campers and explore the highlands! Thanks Tristan and the team. We are VERY Happy Campers

We had a wonderful time with HappyCampers! We originally tried another company, and when that fell through, we turned to HappyCampers for our road trip around Iceland. What a happy accident! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to teach us basic Icelandic phrases.

We were a little hesitant at first–we're not really a camping family, and we didn't know what to expect. We ended up having a blast! We were traveling with two adults and two children, and the largest of the vans was perfect for us. The adults slept on the bottom, and the kids took the upper berth.

My favorite feature was the kitchenette: we always had fresh water (refilled at campgrounds around the country), and we were able to cook on the road. We had so many people ask us about the van and its functionality, and many others that poked their heads in to check it out!

The van came with a small broom (very helpful for cleaning out the bits of debris that we picked up) and a map for the kids (ok, and us) to fill in, among other things. As we added extras to our package (HIGHLY recommend the extra sleeping bags!), I couldn't tell you about standard bedding.

Overall, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that changed how we view both camping and international travel. 10/10 would recommend!

If you’re looking to travel Iceland’s Ring Road, I highly recommend doing so in a camper van...and if you want the best camper van...choose Happy Campers! This family-owned company is fantastic and their customer service is excellent. The campers are well equipped with everything you need, they run/drive well, and the camper on our trip was an integral part of the Iceland experience. We can’t wait to come back and see Iceland in a Happy Camper once again.

we enjoyed two weeks travelling in Iceland this past summer. We never left the Northwest and still felt that there was not quite enough time. Our little Happy Camper (the littlest) was well equipped and gave us no problems that were not solved over the phone. Thanks again for the chance to see (part) of your lovely country

Happy Camper is by far the best way to see Iceland. Booking the camper was very straight forward on their website which has tons of very useful information to help you plan your visit. Pick up at the airport was a little stressful since our flight arrived only 30 minutes before the office's closing time and space at the airport's arrivals area is tight. But no worries, the folks at Happy Campers were quite flexible and they got us on our way without any problems. The little Nissan diesel (smallest camper) we had was a real champ and the rudimentary appointments of the camper were adequate for the task. I'm 6'1" tall and there was enough room my wife and I in the fold-down bed. Although we had an itinerary planned out for our trip around Hwy 1, we weren't able to stick to it because of all the awesome scenery. Not a problem because the camper afforded us the flexibility to change the plan on the fly. If we ever go back to Iceland to do the parts we didn't get to see, we will definitely rent another Happy Camper!

Excellent use of space and very comfortable! We cooked most of our meals out of the van and were able to keep the amount of food we needed in drawers and in the sizable fridge/freezer. I especially appreciated the solar panel on the roof that allowed us to store enough energy during the day so that at night we could run the heater to warm up before falling asleep. A year after taking our trip, we are still talking about how much we enjoyed the part of our trip with the van! I would recommend this company to anyone.

Nice equipment and great service. We’ve used them twice, once as just my wife and I and this past summer with the 3 kids too. The smallest van, Happy 1, was a bit tight for my 6’3 frame, but the Happy 3 fit us all no prob. A Van’s the way to go in Iceland, and these guys are the best!

I fully researched all camper vans companies in Iceland before picking Happy Campers. Glad I did and glad I chose them. They were the most affordable and the van was perfect. It has everything we needed to fully experience the beauty of Iceland.

There is just no other way to experience Iceland than with Happy Campers!! They give you everything you need and everything you didnt think about needing! There are different van sizes to fit your need and the vehicles drive well! I would recomend them to anyone! They were very nice and will offer to take you to and from the airport. The fold up bed isnt the most comfortable but if you’re doing your trip right, you will be too exhausted to care. We had no problems cooking meals in the van or finding places to camp overnight because they give you a map of all the open camp sights. We were limited in camp spots because we went in the late winter/spring but we never had a problem! Id love to use them again in the future!

We had a blast with our happy camper. Iceland was amazing and our trip was excellent. We worried about not having a bathroom on board but didn’t want to travel with a larger RV so we used a small transit connect size vehicle. The sofa easy pulled down into a bed for night mode and during the day it was s lovely sofa area perfect for preparing meals in the micro kitchen area. All you need and nothing more.

Great service, great vans and overall awesome experience! We will use the for sure next time we go back to that beautiful country!

The van was perfect, big, new, well equiped. Our 3 children were delighted and comfortably installed.
The advices at the beginning were not very huge, but enough.
We would definitly recommanded Happy Campers !

Free chocolate at reception - always a bonus! Pick up and drop off service super handy! Greeted and sent off by wonderful friendly and helpful people (& then welcomed back too)! Van (we named him Ari, after a very nice local we met) did the job over the SEVEN days we managed to get it round the entire island (we made it!) in sometimes pretty chilly conditions. Kept us warm, safe and entertained all the way round. Would recommend this family run company to anyone wanting to take on the island of fire and ice on the wild side! Thank you Happy Campers :D

Brilliant experience enhanced by service provided by Happy Campers, who were able to extend our hire period during our hire. Thank you. We found the Renault Traffic based camper very comfortable for two and easy to handle whilst driving.
