I gave it one star bc they showed up. If your looking for a company to charge you a lot of money then disappear this is your company. They don't have a phone number for you to call and don't respond to your " problems ". My dresser was put together incorrectly and drawers are falling in. It's been 5 days and I can't get " Handy " to even contact me or respond to my emails.

This is just another scam operation!
They dont tell you that when you sign up for a trial that you are acually signing up for a long term service - maybe its in the small print! I just wanted to try the service (it was horrible) and I didnt want to reschedule - i received an email scheduling the second service and i tried to cancel it - they told me that i had to keep scheduling and using their service - i said i didnt want it and asked to be removed they then charged me $100 to cancel - that is ridiculous!
Do not Sign up!
Also, there is no way to contact them directly, i have to go through a 3rd party site - they do that so they hope no one will write the reviews - horrible!

WORST! I do not want to be part of their program and when I say I want a refund so I dont have to keep using their service they said NO! I want my $99 dollars back without penalty. This is ridiculous.
HERE IS WHY: Not only did I have a horrific experience with my first "pro" which they were scheduled for 3 hours and rushed through it in one. I left a review for them when they left and they walked back into the house without knocking and started confronting me about it. The second time. I got a young girl who I had to show and help clean with her. the third time I booked someone and 24 hours later they accepted and then cancelled so I had nobody 2 hours before the actual cleaning time.

Waste of time! They rescheduled twice an hour before the appointment. Yet if clients cancels their appointments per their cancellation policy you lose at least 15% of your deposit or all your money. Do not book with them.

Booked a cleaning with handy 3 weeks in advance. Left work and sat at home for 40 minutes. the only way you can contact them is to BUY their app which i did so i could figure out why they didn't show up. First they said they were running late, then suddenly said they needed to cancel. SCAM. DO NOT EVER USE!

I purchased a projector through the Army Airforce Exchange (AAFES) and the installation was supposed to be provided this company. Handy sent me a email confirmation of the appointment time but no one ever showed and I keep emailing but getting no response. I called the Exchange and notified them of what took place they sent them a message and stated to give them until Monday and they will refund me. After reading all of these reviews this company should be shut down immediately!! I also plan to file a complaint with the Attorney General of New York because this seems to be a common practice with them.

They don't deserve one star. I called and scheduled a booking to replace a 22,000 btu AC. After reading their horrible reviews, I cancelled the very next day. Thwey acknowledged the cancel but sent no confirmation. On the day of the booking a frail little man who had to be 75yrs. old appeared at my door!!! I told him that I had cancelled. The company said that I had no proof of cancellation and they were going to charge a cancellation fee. I told him that I would dispute any charge because I had cancelled in plenty of time. When I got my bill, they had charged $232.50 to my account! They are a total SCAM! DO NOT USE HANDY.

they sent a horrible unprofessional unexperienced cleaner who ruined furniture, didn't take out the trash, "cleaned" the floors but actually our hardwoods have a nasty layer that comes up black with a wet paper towel. The cleaner haphazardly sprayed one kind of spray on EVERYTHING. Their customer service sucks worst than their providers!!! I sent a message about this horrible service because Handy supposedly has a "happiness guarantee". NOPE. they give you partial credits, NO REFUNDS. I paid one hundred and forty $ dollars, and they offered a twenty dollar $ credit. Like W-T-actual-F. WORST COMPANY TO EVER EXIST.

I called asking for a one time basic house clean. They sent a "deep clean" person. She never touched the toilets, left the floors un mopped, did not vacuum, did not wipe down the kitchen counters or sink. Instead she cleaned my oven for two hours and arranged my fridge??? When I reached out to handy with photos and an explanation of their mess up, they gave me a cheap $20 credit on my account!! As if I will ever call them again to touch my home? They lie about the Customer Satisfaction policy. They do not care all they evidently wanted was my credit card and not doing what they agreed to do for the bill. BEWARE before you buy!!

Pre paid for 6 hours deep cleaning. The newly installed floor was mopped and a door was wiped off, rest was untouched. The front door was left unlocked. My calls for someone to come actually do the job were ignored and I did not get a full refund.

Handy for cleaning services is a huge SCAM. They will make you signup for a plan with a set rate and then switch the rate on you without notifying. $56/hr to clean a 980sqft apart at 4.5hrs they say. There's no way and that's way above industry standard.
I tried to keep my service if they discounted as promised to a $38/hr rate, but they would not.
Complete run around and switch and bait tactics. When asked why my cleanings were all priced different, they said it would change once its booked with someone...so again, the price changes without notice. COMPLETE SCAM and they still want to charge me $99 to cancel! I would never continue with them because who knows what the price will be next!!

I wouldn't give ANY "stars" if it would let me...and if you look at my attached picture showing where my 70" TV is supposed to be hanging,,,you'll understand why!! I bought the $79 installation thru Walmart in Lawrenceburg, TN when I bought my 70" TV. Handy.com sent a guy named John Horton to hang my TV over my fireplace. What a joke! After a few months my 70" TV fell off of the wall and landed on my floor! .HANDYS EMPLOYEE...JOHN HORTON MOUNTED A 70 " TV INTO SHEETROCK....NOT IN STUDS...IN SHEETROCK! What an IDIOT!! I had to pay sometime to repair my Sheetrock..PLUS buy another new $800 TV! I've filed a claim with Handy.com which said they needed 8-10 days to review the claim...and I'm still waiting to hear from HANDY about my claim for over a month later!

Corporate complaints: TERRIBLE customer service. Not intuitive app. They text you 90min before the service to remind you, yet the cancellation window is 2hr without getting charged which I find incredible manipulative. There is no phone number to call to speak with anyone. I have had repeated issues every month.
Professional complaints: Often show up late and rarely do a good job. I booked someone for three hours and they left after one yet I had to pay the whole window. RIDICULOUS.
These services should relieve customers of stress yet all it has been is a nuisance every month. DO NOT ENGAGE THIS COMPANY.

Signed up for a 6 month cleaning contract. The cleaners came late and did not clean anything. They did not have any supplies and left 3hours early. Tried to get in contact with customer service emailed 7times to have someone call me. No one ever called had to reach out to customer service via Facebook just to get a response. I ended up cancelling my service with them and getting a refund. Do not use them. They have bad customer service and the people they hire to do the work are not professionals!

I signed up for a cleaning and somehow ended up on the hook for a yearly plan that it cost $99 to cancel. I talked to customer service and thought I had worked it all out, but it turns out they rolled me into another account that changes $10 a month to hold my money for future cleaning services and they allocated my $99 into the first ten month's payments for the account. It seems like the business model here is to trick customers into getting trapped in a plan that you have to pay to get out of. Even then, they don't make it easy or straight foreword. It would be one thing if I knew I signed up for a plan and then wanted out, but I used a mobile device to book the appointment (which never happened) and never saw anything about the monthly plan. If the had any integrity, they would return the money of customers who didn't use their services, but instead I am held hostage to a company that I was foolish enough to give my credit card number too.

Each pro has been superb. I have made over 30 bookings for cleaning, knobs, furniture. I think I have used every category. I get confused with the app and have received great support from [email protected] I have recommended that the fake negative or unfair negative reviews be reported to reputation.com. Site like this and yelp can only be helpful to us the customers if the app or business has a means to remove inappropriate comments. Handy and other apps like Uber increase my safety and help insure and screen pros. Thank you Handy!

First let me say the professional who came out to help was wonderful and this is nothing against him.
I booked a 5 hour appt for a professional to meet me at our lakehouse in Michigan to put together furniture on a Saturday. I left Chicago early on Saturday to be sure I was there on time to meet him. Two hours before he was scheduled, as I was on the road, I got a message that the appt was rescheduled for Monday. Well, I planned on being back in Chicago on Monday and not still in Michigan. I looked everywhere for a number to call but none was provided. I expressed my displeasure via email and was told they rescheduled for Sunday at noon but that no professional was assigned so basically it might be a no show again.
I posted on Facebook and had a lovely individual come out and help me on Saturday. I saved a few projects for Sunday just in case someone showed up. Luckily he did and he stayed for about 3.5 hours. I paid the original price I had booked (5 hours). I didn't ask for a refund for the additional 1.5 hours because I honestly didn't want to deal with the company anymore.
They Initially "compensated" me by giving me a whole $10 credit, which did not come off the Sunday appt. I emailed telling them I wanted that credit applied to this booking as I would never be using their company again. They refused, "but the good thing is, the $10 will automatically be applied once you create a new booking"
Nope. Not gonna fight over $10. I'd rather just let everyone out there in internet land know. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I scheduled a cleaning with Handy today. My pro texted me at the appointment time and told me that she had driven to an address an hour away from me because my address was entered in the Handy App incorrectly. When I contacted Handy Customer Service, I was told that this was considered "a late cancelation" by me and that I would be charged the entire amount! It was not my mistake! I have had several other handy pro's come to the house with no problem. I have no idea how my address was changed in the handy app. I certainly didn't do it! So I paid $100 for service I did not receive because of a mistake THEY made!

This is a total mess. I do not have an Account with this company . requested service once and paid $159 for a $#*!ty job. I called in to complain about the bad service. The company charged me $99 cancellation fee after that and then in a few days sent another cleaners to my home with just one hour notice. Did not request a service and I don't have access to my account nor I can speak with someone to cancel the Service. Does this sound like a bad service? Absolutely scam. This really smells like a lawsuit to me.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Their app is buggy and their customer service is awful.
Here's my experience: Signed up for the app and a 3-month commitment. The first session came with problems. (1) I selected my background-checked professional but the app changed who would be coming without notifying me. I found out when the professional messaged me an hour before my scheduled appointment. When I'm inviting someone into the privacy of my home to conduct a service, I don't want any surprises. 2) The app sent a completely different house size to the professional, which set up a different set of pricing expectations. I had to renegotiate when the professional arrived because they thought they were going to be working on a different size home. I ended up paying more than I had anticipated. 3) Found out from the professional that the Handy app would keep more than 40% of the fees collected!!!!
After I contacted the company to notify them of my grievances and cancel my plan, they persistently tried to get me to keep the service. When I refused over and over they strong-armed me with a $99 Early Cancellation Fee'. After reasoning with them that punishing a customer after their very first experience was not good customer service, they still wouldn't budge.
So, I'm writing this negative review as my only recourse. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Their app is buggy and their customer service is awful.

Handy.com has no regard for customer feedback. All they care about is taking your money. Avoid at all costs! They will not get back to you. They will have no interest to get back to you. All they care about is that they can continue to bill you for $#*!ty service.

My first experience using this company was great. Simple and quick. The pro was prompt, professional, quick and knowledgable. I got a bed with storage drawers underneath assembled. Last week I set up an appointment to have a tv stand and a bar table assembled on Friday evening 6:30pm. First, I noticed via the app, the pro assigned to my job was changed about 3 time before the final person that took the job. I leave work early to get home to be there for the appointment to receive a notice at a few mins past 6pm that the pro is running 15 mind late. Ok fine. Now a few more mins pass and at about 6:15 I receive another notice stating that due to a last minute pro call out I have to be rescheduled to Monday at 6:30pm. Now Im livid, because this was only told to me mins to arrival, and I only receive that notice via text and a generated email saying we apologize and basically, sorry for wasting your time but your rescheduled. And that was it. I proceed to email a response notifying them that that was pretty inconsiderate, unprofessional, and unacceptable. But that I am ok with the new time solely because I was then scheduled with the pro I worked with previously and I much preferred to work with again. I received a pretty quick response and small attempt to compensate twds my next service. So fast fwd to Monday the day I was rescheduled for. So all weekend until Monday morning I was still scheduled with the pro I preferred. I go to the app Monday morning to reach out to the pro to ask if he'd prefer to start a bit earlier at 6pm then that is fine with me. But, low and behold, I again was switched to yet another pro! I still proceed to reach out to the last pro to explain all of this to him and to ask if there was a way that we could work it out for him to work with me on this job. He responds and says that should work try to send a request. I attempt to do so, however it seems as if maybe when scheduling there is a window or maybe you cannot do same day bookings, something like that because I was being given and error stating that the date was too soon. I let the pro know that I was having the issue. Then I proceeded to email Handy to ask for this to be adjusted and that myself and the pro agreed. I reached out again to let the pro know that I was sending an email as well. They took a while and another email later but they did respond and get the situation squared away and had me assigned to the pro I was interested in and had previously worked with, once again. They stated in the email that it was set and they have proof that myself and the pro both agreed to this assignment. This was around 3pm at this point. I reached out to the pro again informed him of this set up and reiterated that if he preferred earlier i am fine with that. So finally content I gear up to leave work early to be home. I never received any more responses from the pro and the messages said delivered but not read so I assumed he was busy at work. I received alerts, your job is starting soon etc etc. 6pm comes and I get a familiar alert.. Due to a last minute pro call out we are unable to find a new person for this job and you have been rescheduled for tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am completely on fire at this point. I look at the chat and the messages to the pro were now showing read. So why let me go through all of that getting it set up to have you assigned to my task and, knowing what I had just gone through previously, to then cancel on me last minute and not even reach out to at least say, I apologize but I am unable to do this job today. Something! Of course I receive another generic email as well basically stating, sorry for wasting your time again but you've been rescheduled. I send another email back and now the next morning I still have yet to receive a response. Initially no pros picked up my task when I was rescheduled but soon after another pro did. At this point its still the same person but going fwd with the day who knows how this will turn out and if this will even take place this evening w/o yet another cancelation. I really liked Handy at first but after this NEVER AGAIN! This was completely ridiculous for a service that I have paid for and adjusted my time and work schedule to make sure it worked out only to be dis guarded repeatedly by these ppl.

I booked a 6 month, monthly service on the last sunday of every month. Received confirmation of this appointment by text and email. The cleaner did NOT show up, I have called her and texted her and left a voicemail, no response. Meaning this appointment was never confirmed with their "professional". Handy doesn't have a phone number to call. I have emailed them through the app about this. The only response I received is we are sorry and here is $10 in credit. I have sent 4 call me requests on email. I have received no response, call or acknowledgement of my request at all. I was depending on this service to clean for a party. Now i am cleaning the house myself and Handy's customer service won't even apologize with a phone call. Just a template email from Christine in their customer service team. This is a horrible experience and they won't even refund my money or apologize? Extremely disappointed and HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

First of all let me start by saying I had to scroll a very long ways on this feed to find anything but a 1 star review.
Travel a lot! I scheduled for a cleaning for my sons graduation and flew in a day early so they could clean the house. Right before the cleaning the cancelled. When I tried to reach out to customer service they said I cancelled, which was not the case. I was able to cancel my plan but they kept the $133 for the cleaning they never did. I contested with my credit card saying I never got the services but Handy sent all of the items to them and also told the credit card company I cancelled which was not the truth. I have since tried to log into my account to use the credit they won't refund me and I've been locked out of my account. I have contacted them twice on this and they said it's fixed but it's not and so I feel they have stolen my money. I am contacting the New York Attorney General for misconduct of funds and plan to add printed copies of the pages and pages of reviews. I will also be contacting the BBB on them. My goal after seeing all of this is the Attorney General will investigate and close down the business. They are thieves and will not provide services and then will also steal your money. I also love their generic replies to all of the posts. I emailed them again today and still no response to my locked out account.
