To food is really average. For what you get its way to expensive. Its basically really pricy TV dinners...
Just go to a local walmart and get Atkins TV dinners, they are the same in Nutrition, but taste better and are waaaay cheaper.
I wont get Freshly again.
You can always look out for a local Food Prep Business. It will be a little bit more than Freshly, but not much. And that way you can really know what your eating.

They were fine for awhile, but recently changed their delivery service and my package consistently went to the wrong address. Got so tired of the issue not getting fixed and receiving a weekly credit, but no food, that I gave up. Got me through a busy work period without eating out all the time, but meals got repetitive - they need more variety.

Food is really delicious. I had ordered for straight 3 weeks. Unfortunately I had to cancel due to some diet restrictions. However the last delivery was submitted as I missed to cancel the subscription before that. The customer service was really helpful to get me my refund. It was really a pleasant experience. I would definitely try again once I am out from my diet restrictions.Thank you Freshly team!

Heating up precooked meat in a microwave when I don't even reheat left over pizza in the microwave?! But decided to give Freshly a try considering the 6 meal plan is equal to what I would spend in one grocery trip alone. I was VERY PLEASED with the quality and portion. Freshly meals, well they taste fresh just as if I just got done making dinner myself. Well worth the money and will continue my subscription.

I LOVE Freshly. We have our groove down with which meals work best for us, and it's been life changing. My husband and I both have demanding jobs and this has been THE best option for us to eat healthy and lose weight. HIGHLY recommend. Yes, some meals are better than others and you'll figure out which you prefer! I love Country Chicken & Mash, Steak Peppercorn and Low Country Broil while my husband loves the Sicilian Chicken Parm and Chicken Tikki Marsala.

I accidently clicked on an ad for Freshly and was surprised to hear a service like this existed, but the reviews were good so I decided to try it. I am their target market for the most part - I love delicious food, and I don't have time to make it.
I'll be straight up, the food is phenomenal. Not crazily seasoned, but the first one I tried was the chicken mash and it was out of this world. Veggies I doctor a bit if they're solo, but I try not to because I want to give my heart a break from the salt. I have a hard time choosing meals every week because there are many I want to repeat and even more I want to try.
I highly recommend trying it. Their customer service is also outstanding, they have worked with me so well and gone above and beyond - I have the utmost respect for them and look forward to continuing to try the new meals!

The food is great. The flavor is great straight from the microwave. It says in the box to add your own flare of flavor. People that complain it's bland have to remember not everyone likes the same things and you can always add it. The portions are perfect. In this day and age one person eats for 3 it seems like. The calories are good.
I have only just started using the product so I gave it 4 stars. 5 if they're consist.

Super bland and tiny portions. 300-400 calories is not sufficient for a meal, even if you're trying to lose weight (unless you snack a ton or your other meals were huge). If you're used to eating flavorless food, you may enjoy this, but even after adding a ton of my own seasonings and garnish it was pretty lame. I've had better frozen food from companies like Evol for less money. Even at the promotional rate of $40/box for the first two weeks it's not really worth it. Cancelling.

I am not one to typically write reviews. However, I have been using freshly every week for about two months. I have had no complaints and enjoyed the food. Last night, I ate the chicken and butternut risotto for dinner. I had a busy day so I had not eaten any other food all day. About four hours later, I was having chills/shakes with vomiting and diarrhea. I could hardly walk because my stomach was in so much pain. Because I had not eaten anything else throughout the entire day, I am 100% confident the freshly meal gave me food poisoning. It is truly disappointing. I have canceled my subscription and will not be ordering from them again.

Save yourself aggravation...don’t order! My partner and I tried to eat the Backyard BBQ Chicken meal. The chicken sits on a bed of “something” (sorry, even after reading the ingredients, the best I can call it is a pinto bean mash). There were particles in this mash like sand (and we hope it wasn’t glass!). This is week 2 of “never again” for us as week 1 wasn’t very good either. 2 of the 6 meals we chose for week 1 looked more like dog food mush than a meal made by a chef (and I should know...while in graduate school, I worked for a well know Italian chef). Very, very disappointing. Photos available upon request.

The flavor of the meals are very good, but you get a small amount and it taste a little fresher and healthier than a frozen dinner. Freshly customer service is lacking and this company needs to work on getting more staffing. You are on hold for a long time and it takes hours for them to call you back, although the reps are nice, they do not seem to be very knowledgeable and able to answer questions that I had regarding my order and payments.

I have nothing but a great experience with Freshly. The food has arrived on time for the 3 weeks I've used the service. It was cold upon arrival. The meals are a perfect size. I definitely love some more than others, but I have found that the meat has always been cooked to perfection. They definitely taste better than a frozen dinner which is also packed with chemicals and sodium. This offers good portion control with low calories for a meal. I recommend this to anyone who is on the go and doesn't have time to cook. I wish my meals could arrive on Monday, but I get why that isn't an option.

I enjoyed Freshly very much! However, I am away from home most weekends, and by the time I get home, the meals were melted, and had to be thrown away because they are delivered on Saturdays.
I contacted Freshly by phone and asked them if they could please change deliveries to Monday. The woman I spoke with said yes, and gave me an effective date, but Freshly continued to deliver on Saturdays beyond the effective date. After two weekends of throwing my deliveries away, I was forced to cancel. It's very unfortunate.
What's more, when I wrote to Freshly with my explanation for cancelling (and suggesting how to remedy the situation), they just went ahead and cancelled me, never seeming to want to budge from Saturday deliveries.
So, if you're not home many weekends, DON'T get Freshly! From my experience, they can't (or are unwilling to) alter the dates.

I cannot rate the food because I did not make it that far. I got a flyer in the mail and was ready to order the deal on 6 meals. It showed vegetarian as an option. So I get on to order and there are only 4 options for vegetarians. I can order the 4 day plan but it costs more than the 6 day plan. I’m not eating the same thing twice in a week no matter how good it is, so as usual vegetarians are supposed to pay more than carnivores. Don’t send literature and deals for orders you can’t legitimately fill. Then I chat to complain and see if there’s a plan B and I get some soy boy with an entitlement complex. I would avoid if you are vegetarian...this is just the usual shakedown for us.

IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS THATS WHAT I WOULD DO!!.. I am beyond annoyed!! Two weeks in a row after planning my 6 meals for the week, I got none. Being a new customer, one would think the service would be stellar for the first few deliveries.. NO! STARTED OFF BAD AND ENDED BAD. I planned for these meals that I never seen!! The first week for delivery, they just never showed up, this week, somehow they got my address completely wrong!!... RIDICULOUS!!! DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME, SUCH AN INCONVENIENCE!! BACK TO HELLOFRESH I GO!!!... THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE!!!

I was super excited to start using Freshly, so I took advantage of one of their promotions. I was waiting for the package to arrive on the delivery date, then my tracking app said it was delivered. I looked all around the house, but couldn’t find the package, though it was marked “delivered”. I contacted Freshly and the lady was super nice and fix the problem right away and issued a refund and applied the discount to my next order. However, since they prepare the meals in a schedule, I had to wait a full week before I’d get my meals. This kind of made me mad, but I m ow things happen and it wasn’t their fault. I did request that they use a different carrier since OnTrac is notorious for messing things up, but they said they can’t choose carriers... The next week I did receive the food and was excited to try it. It was fairly alright. The portions are small and food is particularly bland. My next order (3rd scheduled delivery) was supposed to come in today. I got an email saying it was delayed. That is 2 out of my total 3 order that had delivery problems! A 67% delivery failure rate! I contacted the customer service team via live chat and they only apologized. (Note: I will be calling back tomorrow to request a refund). The email also said that the boxes are packaged to withstand 2 days of transit and 12 hours of porch time, and if I receive them after that I need to throw them away because they can’t guarantee freshness. My note to that is... for a company focused on health and the environment (their FAQ page says “we work hard to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible”), they do seem to contribute to TONS of food waste because they rely on a mediocre carrier. My next topic is meal prep. I chose Freshly (and paid for it!) to feed me, to do the prepping so I don’t have to take the time to do it. When it’s the day of delivery and I don’t have meals for the next week, I have to go into super-prep-and-freak-out mode when a delivery is missed and I end up worse off than if I were to plan my meal prep. I will be trying alternate services.
Note to Freshly: I don’t want another apology, I’ve had enough of those. I want food! I want the problem fixed. I want you to stop using OnTrac. I want reliability. Unless I get that, I’m cancelling and will use alternatives.

I had high expectations, perhaps too high. The food was delivered on time. The problem is, it did not taste good. It was extremely bland and the chicken was tough. I understand the health aspects but it certainly did not taste like it was cooked by a professional chef. I honestly can cook better. I have bought frozen dinners from the supermarket that tasted just as good. I canceled the service today.

I’m honestly so confused by all the Freshly reviews. I don’t eat very much, I never finish my plate at restaurants - I’m a 5’2 female at 108lbs. But the portion sizes of these meals so far is far below the norm. Maybe if I ate these for lunch it wouldn’t be so bad? I find myself still hungry afterwards after eating freshly for dinner (so far I’ve tried the sausage penne and the buffalo chicken). If I’M hungry after this, then what about all the other people who generally eat more than I do? I’m also a home chef and decided to give freshly a try since I get tired of cooking meal preps on sundays, and I have whipped out the salt and pepper for both meals so far. These are not well seasoned and quite bland. What I was reminded of while I was eating these was lean cuisine from college. I will most likely cancel my subscription if the next few meals don’t add up for me. I’m really disappointed so far. I’m just shocked at how little food has been given.

first off the portions are small and not very good. I prefer stouffers. Still I tried them, if my CC changes as it did twice they do not notify you of payment issue, you just don't get food until you research why.
Also I had 6 meal plan, the last delivery was 4 of the same meal and 2 others, they do not notify you if a meal you chose is no longer available, they just start doubling up. They delivered one weeks meals to another street and days later the person was nice enough to bring them to me. Terrible customer service, appears to be call center with scripted responses. I would NOT recommend this service.

I liked the food. I canceled because of the delivery service. The courier they use is abysmal. They left my first order out on the street in front of a random business. It wasn’t even my street! I found out because a friendly stranger called my cell phone - the number was right there on the package. The delivery person didn’t even try to call or text. I finally canceled when another order was left on my step sometime after 10pm with no notification. It sat outside all night.

Bland food - small portions. I just saw their first tv commercial and I don't know where they got the food for the commercial, but you'll never pull something out of the microwave from FRESHLY that looks anything like it.
And as far as value is concerned- go to the supermarket with $60 (for a family of 4) and compare what you make .... to 4 FRESHLY meals.

First week was fine, except for the food is kinda meh. But I’m gluten free so that and the convenience were positives. Ok the other hand, I just don’t feel full on some of their meals. Anyway second delivery was delayed. Shipped on Sat, supposed to show up sun, est delivery mon. It’s now 4 pm on Monday and the tracking status hasn’t changed from arrival at their closest ship center. So I’m not really expecting to get it today. They gave me a $10 credit and promised a refund and $20 credit if it shows up tomorrow cuz the food will be bad by then. Which is fine but I already cancelled. The hassle combined with meh food, I probably could have dealt with, but man... I “chatted” with reps twice and one was horrible, she couldn’t really communicate effectively and kinda left me hanging at one point. The second was much better but for both, not once did either of them say a simple, “I apologize for the delay”. Both were just like, I dunno, not sure why it’s delayed, it should be good for 2 days and 12 hours. Here’s a credit. It felt very frustrating and like they were just saying this is par for the course, what do you expect, why are you so worried, it’ll get there eventually? The store credits don’t mean much because I’m no longer going to subscribe after these experiences...
Wow, after taking some time to read other reviews, it sounds like I'm not the only one with this issue. It's pretty clear to, well, anyone that freshly needs to change the way they deliver and hire and/or train their customer service chat people better, especially how they respond to people's concerns about delivery issues. I'm talking about wording, not just shoving credits at them which is standard policy. Ahem, are you listening, freshly?

I really enjoy freshly. I am a college student so I don't have time to go to the store and cook. I also don't enjoy cooking and I am very impatient so being able to throw it in the microwave for a few minutes is great! Food is healthy and delicious. It's easy to skip a week or change your meals. Delivery is always on time and my meals are still cold when I receive them. Freshly is definitely worth it if you have a busy lifestyle.

I did not order, but my son does. Well I tried one and it delicious. I added a little seasoning. not much. What people have to understand is the company can not add a lot of seasoning because of health reasons. Overall I enjoyed it. My son has no problem with delivery.

This is my letter to Freshly, was met with
Sorry, this is our standard offer 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I tried so hard to contain myself and refrain from answering this email. But after giving it a lot of thought since this morning, I feel that you should understand how this impacts me.
As a weekly meal planner, I decided to switch to you, and try you out. I did not hesitate to get a 12 meal plan to maximize the convenience of having meals prepared for the entire week.
I did not start with a lower tier plan as I’ve been meal planning for a long time now. And having realized the benefits of having meals prepared in advance, I decided pausing my current service with another provider and give you guys a try this time. I was thinking not only would it give me varying options on what I can eat, it would be beneficial to see what other providers can offer.
Your email stating the delay, came in Sunday morning. No time for me to switch back to my other provider. Nor do I have time shop and cook and prepare meals for the week.
I am now left with take out, unhealthy, options for the rest of the week. Not only does it blow my meal budget, it’ll be another thing I would have to worry about every meal.
I hope you get to realize that this standard apology letter for delayed delivery of meals does not in any way rationalize nor compensate what your customers feel and go through whenever this happens.
First of all, it seems like you are putting blame on your delivery partner for this delay when in fact you only sent out a “your meals are shipped” email to me on the 13th, a day before its supposed to arrive (which was the 14th) and at 7:37PM at that.
I feel that putting this on your delivery partner (as stated in the first few lines of this email) is very unreasonable, unfair and shows lack of ownership on your part.
Second, offering a $20 Off In Store credit does not compensate in any way for this inconvenience. You mean to tell me that in order for me to feel the value of your apology because of what happened, that I need to spend more on you.
And if I refuse to do such, all I get is “sorry, we messed up.”
Freshly, I feel you need to rethink your customer service recovery strategy when things like this happen. All that is stated below in your email appears to be more of an insult to the feelings and intelligence of your customers.
