I ordered $500 worth of frozen beyond burgers from them. They shipped them UPS ground (3-4 business days claimed expected time for shipping) under four separate tracking numbers with dry ice. Some 3/5 of the boxes got lost so far. Two boxes my doorbell cam shows ups trying to deliver today but their computer system wouldn't let them leave the package. UPS is a mess and freshdirect left no margin for error. I filled out a form days ago with freshdirect when tracking showed the packages delayed. Still haven't heard back. Couldn't find a phone number for help. Expecting $500 worth of frozen food to needlessly spoil. Will never try this again.

I have been using this service during the quarantine but I am going to continue to use it. The prepared foods are great and the produce is fresh and packed with care. I have had no problems with any of my orders and if I want to add to my cart, I hit modify and add new items. If you have used instacart, you will be amazed how much more efficient Fresh Start is.

Used Fresh Direct 1 Time, so far the produce, meat, and fish were fresh.
The only thing I don't like is the fact that there are no dollar amounts on the labels, of the meats, fish, etc., only the weight of the item.
Anyone can change the weight of a item, unless you have a scale at home, how can you check if the weight matches the price, you can't., you have to trust them ?
Anyway lets see what happens the second time around !

Unlike so many other providers, you can not change your order or add missing items. I had to cancel my order 12 hours before delivery and they charged 100% of the perishables and 25% of the non perishables!!! This company is anti-consumer and a disgrace.

The pictures on there trucks show people trained from Culinary schools pretty Chef coats ! Web sites that give you a story about skills experience & background . In a pretty kitchen. Looks good for customers ! But these PEOPLE NEVER HANDLED YOUR FOOD or packed 1 meal EVER .They work in a nice small kitchen make it. It gets sent to EXECUTIVE CHEF MICHAEL STARK . I've been a Fresh Direct customer from its beginnings. While the company has experienced some hiccups along the way (as most any company does), I have to give them very high marks across the boardfor range of products, ease in shopping, delivery efficiency, and customer service when I have a problem. The website is easy to navigate and I can shop weekly in 10 minutes or so. What a timesaver! They have always been quick to credit me when I get a product that is damaged or subpar (which is rare). And they have good sales and deals and even freebies. Fresh Direct has long been and will continue to be my go-to market as long as they are around. Thanks!!!

I placed my first order, and they screwed it up. I spent 1 hour 20 mins on the phone with an offshore idiot who told me my options, none of which were helpful. I closed my account immediately and wont be back. The whole experience was unpleasant, the website poor and the customer service didn't give me any options which helped me at all. If you want a stressful experience I suggest you try shopping here.

I've been a Fresh Direct Customer for over a decade. I've seen the company grow - when they had a great selection of food and spot-on delivery times to when they cut-down on their star-chef meal offerings and some of my most favorite, unique, items to when they routinely sent produce that was not edible and their delivery times went way past the two-hour promised window. I use them for small orders, these days, because i am home-bound and can't shop for myself. Multiple problems ensued when the company relocated, but that's some time ago. I'm so disappointed in the disappearance of favored items, but I understand they have to stock what sells. Their option of product requests is a joke. I've requested more than a dozen items and have none of them added.

I put an order today and wanted to change my method of payment but the website wouldn't take it on the phone or the computer and no one in the office, the five people I spoke to, could help me including Troy who was a mean and nasty person, I did the very best thing by canceling their service. I do not recommend their service, there's always something wrong with the orders I receive.

my wife placed order to be delivered Friday 12/6 between 3 and 6 PM. When food arrived for our party that was that night there was a busted bottle of wine so driver was told he couldn't deliver food to us. we had people coming over that night and all fresh direct coud say was sorry and give a store credit which we didn't want as we wanted credit back to credit card. we wanted food redelivered but they wouldn't do it so they took it upon themselves after being told we wanted everything credited back to our credit card to deliver again next day and take the store credit and keep the charges on our acct . we didn't accept order as i dint need it anymore as party was day before. i felt very cheated and taken advantage of. i felt fresh direct only cared about making the sale and not the customer. also to try and make us take store credit after i told them no was like being forced to buy from them again and i don't ever plan on using fresh direct again. i find them unreliable very selfish and dont really care about the customer. its taken numerous calls to finally have someone say they will finally give me credit to my card but will take a few days. lets see what happens.
i had to run out before party to get whatever i could my friends were disappointed with things till i got back with what i could but i shoud never have been forced to do this. as far as i am concerned i will NEVER EVER use FRESH DIRECT again not with there kind of service. I should also state this had nothing to do with driver this problem was all management.

Ordered last minute, and they made great effort to get it here ON TIME (Thanksgiving morning) packaged very securely, everything was fresh, directions clear and the FOOD WAS AWESOME!! ***I got a little black MOUSE delivered with my groceries!!! *************************************************************** In June, I got a coupon from FD and placed an order. My grocery arrived in 2 cardboard boxes and one reusable FD bag. My husband brought them into the kitchen and my friend and I started unpacking. In front of all 3 of us, a small black mouse jumped out of the cardboard box containing the farm direct produce!!!! It ran faster than any of us could react and hid behind the dishwasher. We laid down glue traps and made a make shift barrier so it does not come out of the kitchen to the rest of our living space, not knowing that it can clime. I contacted FD and for a month and a half they dragged the issue responding. I sent numerous emails, talked on the phone to no avail. Finally an executive named Mike spoke with me. He was very respectful and he said, I won't deny your claim if you don't deny my mine! I promised him. He said that they keep their facilities very cold to prevent mice infestation. He said that they NEVER SHUT OFF THEIR REFRIGERATED TRUCKS.... EVER! It costs them an extra million dollars a year. He offered me $100 in grocery credit but I explained that I am not bringing this up to get free groceries but since our efforts to catch the mouse have failed we need to call in an exterminator. He said I'll get back with you later today. Our second phone call with Mike was a very different experience. He was rude, nasty and confrontational. He called me a liar and said that it never happened and I made it all up! I hired an exterminator who came, caught the mouse and I could finally breath. I sent them the exterminator bill which was only $125 but they never responded. The insult from Mike was the last conversation I had. Be careful what you get along with your groceries. I also think EPA should look into them never shutting down any of their refrigerated fleet! The extra carbon dioxide emission must be astronomical

Horrible, absolutely horrible service!!! I'm a new customer who tried to place an order and was supposed to get $50 off well their customer service (Jessica) said I've been a customer since 2012 (meanwhile I wasn't even in the states that year) then she said, okay I activated your eligibility for the coupon and after I placed my order and money was taken out of my account, THEY DEACTIVATED MY ACCOUNT COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY EMAIL OR CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT MY ORDER THEN I CALL THEM SEVERAL TIMES TO WHICH THEH LIED AND SAID I NEED TO CONTACT MY BANK MEANWHILE MY MONEY WAS TAKEN OUT AND I TOOK A DAY OFF WAITING FOR MY ORDER!!!!! Buyers, please stay away from this scam of a business!!!!!! Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I don't even know where my money is now!!!!

I placed an order a few days ago and then called to ask if they could assure me if I was not at home yet at the time of the delivery, please do NOT leave it at the back door but at the front door, because in the past, raccoons have immediately torn apart things which were edible and I have come home to remnants of packaging strewn around my yard. I didn't want that to happen. As luck would have it, we were having torrential rains, I was stuck in traffic and not home, and I saw on my security camera that they left my food delivery at the back door in the pouring rain and where it is easy pickings for a pack of raccoons which live nearby. Panicked, I called customer service. She called the driver to go pick up the package and put it at the front door. When she came back to the phone, she said they COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET TO THE FRONT DOOR and that is why they went to the back. They had to walk past the walkway to the front door to get to the back, and most people do come to the front. It is a scary thought that a delivery person would offer this as a reason to put a delivery in the wrong place. Maybe Stevie Wonder, but if you are blind, you cannot see to drive a delivery truck. Bottom line: no one bothered to come back to pick up the package. I was watching on the cam. When I arrived home, an hour after I called to have them return for the package they left, I found a mess to clean up, no edible food left, and apparently, they leave food in an open bag not sheltered from bad weather, on the ground. And the woman on the phone from customer service was borderline nasty to me. And sadly, I will not be able to trust Fresh Direct to deliver another order again when they hire delivery people who don't follow directions and say they can't figure out how to get to the front door on a very small house. You cannot make this kind of thing up! THEN, at 11 p.m. we heard them in our driveway. Maybe they came by to pick up the mess the raccoons left. I should have left it for them.

Not worth it. Food was late, perishables had melted, order was incomplete. In the time I spent trying to rectify the situation, I could have gone to the store 4 times. Creates hassle, doesn't eliminate it.

Received a fraud alert from my bank yesterday. Fresh Direct sent a 0.00 charge to my card to see if it would go through and was active. Luckily my bank doesnt put up with this stuff. Wonder if there were going to be more fraudulent charges down the road??? Not now cuz that card is canceled. Wonder how they got the number cuz I had never used them and now for sure I never will.

April 2019 I decided to place my first order. All went well for that and the next three deliveries. Text messages "next for delivery." Within a few minutes a FreshDirect-branded truck was out front. The food was well-packed, protected, meat and dairy chilled, vegetables fresh, except cucumbers had a rust-colored ring in the center; stopped ordering cucumbers. My fifth order July 5, everything changed. A text arrived "next for delivery;" couple of minutes later, "delivery made," however, no delivery was made. I called customer service; my delivery was left at the wrong address! Now waiting, late for work, a Ryder rental truck pulled up, not a FreshDirect delivery person, with the wrong dairy product. FreshDirect had outsourced its delivery, and was also out of many items. Customer service agreed to deliver Saturday morning the dairy items, and bread (not available the 5th). July 6, Saturday, I received two texts simultaneously "next for delivery," and "delivery missed." The door bell never rang. I live in a tiny condo, seconds to answer the door; re-delivery attempt same scenario: Two texts at exactly the same time, one text I am next for delivery, next text "sorry we missed you." Impossible. I sat feet from the door. All of this began when FreshDirect began outsourcing delivery, using outside vendors. No support from customer service. Poor managerial decisions, poorly trained, incompetent delivery personnel.

I worked there in the kitchen and realized that the kitchen food was lost in the plant for weeks 1 hour after a delivery.Trying to locate it for days.They would reorder the sour cream to make food .And find the old batch of sour cream after it was out dated 2 MONTHS LATER !! had 3 employees on a table take each cut the molded part out of the sour cream containers and made a pasta filling for his ready to eat meals !! They loose food everyday in that plant !! This used to be a great service, but not anymore. Ever since they changed location or went to their new site or whatever it is they called it.....they are terrible. Last night I was lied to 3 times, wound up waiting for my groceries the entire day and then was told when my delivery time was close to coming to an end that they "were done for the night and had returned to the plant." And what do they want to give me for my aggravation? 20 bucks in credit....well they can take that credit and go jump in a lake with it. I am done...PLEASE people don't waste your time with Fresh Direct.

I used Fresh Direct for many, many years but then they switched their Distribution facility and began to have nightmarish service issues that they just could not seem to get a handle on. I finally had to stop using them.

I was a regular customer when they first started. The store in my neighborhood closed so i thought i would start up again. Despite all of the on line offers and hectoring emails when i placed the or and the delivery failed they said the had no record. They insisted i had to use an old email . I suggested perhaps there was some one who could help it was impossible. no one would step into help . This was an effective service,no more .

I have been a customer of Fresh Direct for well over 10 years, if not more. They started off great, but the last year or so, they have gone drastically downhill. The reason is mostly related to their very poor inventory management skills. For instance, you place your order at least 1 week ahead of time and you want orange juice. Then all of the sudden the day of your delivery, you get an email stating the OJ was not available. This is not a specialty item, but a basic grocery item that many people order. No excuse for this. And this scenario has happened each time I have placed an order in the past several months. I have brought it to their attention and they do nothing about it. So I am no longer a customer.
