Dec 21 - I made arrangements to pay my full balance on 27 Dec
Dec 26 - I made the payment as promised
Dec 29 - Freedom cut my phone off and refused to talk to me.
The account is in 2 names and mine is one of them. They had no problem helping me make a payment arrangement (first time I have ever been late with a payment, by the way).
I honoured the agreement and they made an error and disconnected me. Then they refused to correct their mistake - claiming that I am not on the account.
After 45 minutes of trying to make them understand that I am the account holder, I gave up and just asked them to check if a payment was made and if so, to just turn the phone back on. I would deal with the account issue later, but I needed the phone for work.
They refused to even do that. It would not have been a breach of anything for them to check the account and see that the payment was made, and then turn my phone back on.
I can only assume that this was CYA on Freedom's part - since they screwed up and cut my service and didn't want to admit it. Since this is a work phone, I will be seeking compensation from them IF I lose any income as a result of their error.
AVOID FREEDOM MOBILE. If it wasn't for work, I would have ended my contract because of their breach of the payment agreement, and gone with the other "F" (dog) Mobile carrier - I always had excellent service with them.

I would give a 0 if possible. I have 3 seperate recordings from 3 different reps with 3 different reasons as to why my prepaid acct is suspended (without notice or explanation). I was told it was due to international calls, a payment reversed at the bank and now a chargeback for a payment from April 2019. I have been a customer for close to 10 years and no one at freedom will help or listen. They keep cutting me off and rereading their script. I wish their was a way to post and share these recordings that I am sending to Paul McAleese, the ccts, the CRTC, the BBB and the Ministry of consumer and commercial affairs on this review. Feel free to go to their social media pages and have a listen to the incompetence and complaint lack of customer service provided. I will be switching providers for all 5 of my family members and spreading the word to stay away. It's bad enough my service is down due to technical difficulties more often than not, but the ignorance and complaint disrespect they have provided is the icing on the cake

Along with the insufferable monopoly providers in Canada, you have this weak excuse for an alternative. This company literally steals from you. And their service is patchy at best. I'm on WiFi here...until I can get back to the U.S and have real options that don't squeeze you dry.

I am so disappointed with this customer service people! They don't even know what they are saying! I spoke with three different people just to unlock my google pixel. They are telling me different things! One is so sure that's already unlock because google unlock all phone since 2017 so I search if it's true but that is if bought in Google store. So I called again and the lady told me the same thing only she calls back and saying she has to escalate to get the code to in order to used with other provider & it will take 10days!!!
They don't even know if the phone is locked with freedom mobile or not?
Isn't that all customer service should know?

Very disappointing. The company sends you the offer and the agent does not know the offer despite providing all the details as sent by the company. Wasted over 15 minutes of my time. If they cannot honour their own offers then why waste the customers time. Very in untrusted company

If there was a negative 0 rating to give to freedom mobile they would've have gotten it from me. A year ago Dec 2, 2018, I went to there store and take a wind tab on a iPhone 8 64g and in order for me to get another wind tab the agent said that would have to pay off another tab in which I did. Now the Samsung A5 phone is paid off they switch the number to the iPhone 8 which they shouldn't have, because that number was still in use on the Samsung A5 which is lost for about 2.5 months now and I want to cancel it freedom mobile is telling me to pay off the wind tab which I already did. They associate the number I want to cancel with iphone 8 and now telling me to pay off the tab on that phone. When this is their doing not mine. They are so crooked they are still charging monthly bill on a phone that's no longer in usage. I am going to take this matter to consumer specialist on tv enough is enough. I am planning to discontinue using their service and keep my $350 every month in my pocket.Terrible customer service.

They first bait you with promotions and discounts to get new connections and once you get it, you will get “promotion is not available” or “sorry for the miscommunication” ..
do not get a freedom connection at all... you’ll pay more price for cheaper service

Freedom mobile has to work on its top-up feature. which company doesn't want money? You simply want to top-up and its nothing short of an absolute nightmare. I am simply can't pay. Whaaaaatttttt?????? I haven't seen this with any other company. Get a better software. I can help if you don't mind.

So I have insurance with this company. I pay $9 every month for the insurance. One day I accidentally broke my phone's screen and touch. I called customer rep. and asked for Screen Repair( Which is 49$+ taxes) so he told me that they are out of phone screens and you can replace your phone and get a new phone for $229+taxes. I told him that i don't have money but he said this is the only option you have or you can try next week. When I tried next week the rep. said that you have to replace your phone which is $229+ taxes.
So the thing is that what's is the point of paying insurance if you are forcing us to replace the phone when it's repairable. 24 x 9$ = 216 + phone replacement fee 229+ taxes. i.e almost 470$.
Also why you advertise that you charge only $49 for the repair because at the end of day you are forcing us to replace the phone even if we don't want to. Also, this is not an end. According to them you get your replacement within 1 or 2 days but they don't inform you that the initial process to claim the phone is 3-4 days. I submitted the documents for the replacement of my phone( which was forced on me) after 24 hours i got call from one of rep. she asked me all the questions(what happened to your phone, How , why) then she said i have recorded our conversation and will forwarded it to next department and you will get reply in another 48 hours. I told her that my phone is not working at all and i need replacement as soon and possible. But trust me they even care about you. So don't waste your money on this company. When I bought phone this company I was thinking of saving money but now I think I will end up paying more and the process to claim the phone is way more frustrating.

I also wish I could minus stars!! I was lied to and deceived by the Freedom mobile sales reps. Informed they use Bell towers if their towers dont reach (complete lie I talked to Bell). Worst cell service ever! They looked up my address and didn't tell me I wouldnt have reception in my own home! I went to take the phone back under the 15 day buyer remorse and they almost refused saying that I bought it on the Saturday , and two weeks later would have made it 15 days. They can't even calculate 15 days! Then I handed them my phone and they said it has to be in perfect condition and I had a couple scratches in the screen. This phone was so new that noone, not even them had cases for them available in stores! I had to wait to get a screen protector and case from overseas. I called to complain to their head office from inside their store in Waterloo, and I couldn't even get service to talk to their head office FROM RIGHT THERE IN THEIR OWN STORE!!!! THEN TO TOP IT OFF I COULD NOT SIGN INTO MY ACCOUNT, THEY NEVER SENT A FINAL BILL, THEN WHEN WE FINALLY GOT THE BILL $1300 PLUS , THEY GAVE US A COLLECTIONS LETTER IN LESS THAN 16 DAYS OF SENDING US THE BILL. UNREAL!!!!!!!! I COULD EVEN ADD MORE BUT IM DONE WASTING MY TIME. I just don't want others to suffer

Horrible company. Terrible customer service. Repeatedly overcharges us. Had to spend hours debating over the over-charging issue. Never in my life have I been so utterly disappointed and disgusted. LIERS, LIERS, worst service ever! As a family we move to Freedom mobile (4 lines), bringing our own device, we were happy with the monthly fees, after a few month I decided to upgade my phone to iphone 8, unfortunately we trust what agent at Ocford St and Wonderland Rd N in London Ontario ofers, he told us that with our plan $50 a month we will have NATIONAL WIDE SERVICE )also told by customer service) and this is NOT TRUE! I am a Fedex Driver and I did not had service at the terminal 1650 Wilton Grove Rd London Ontario, meaning that I couln’t us my phone for mapping and use our route app afecting my work performance! This issue force me to take my old cel phone and line to another reliable provider, but I lgave my iphone 8 to (which still have a tab $614 + tax) son, now Freedom is charging and forcing me to pay on full this amount of money, even the phone still with freedom and I am paying monthly. I report this issue BBB BUSINESS BUREAU and my claim was accepted an they claim to freedom so far this company has not reply to BBB, all this issue is due to FAKE OFFERS Nationalwide which NOT TRUE. I wasn’t surprised when I call the customer service every time they were Arab background without exception, I wasn’t surprised such a incompetence, I wasn’t surprised they kept dropping calls, I wasn’t surprised when I asked for supervisor who had the same background laughing , making fun of me but I was surprised when they suspended my service on 3 lines paying almost $300 a month for $50 ridiculous charge without notice For 8 hours Even their network they keep switching to 3G Stay away don’t sign up I am switching to Fido

if i could make this a zero star review i would. i have been waiting for my refund for over 60 days...every agent i speak with is RUDE ( i spoke to my 3rd agent today who was the only nice one since this all started)
i canceled this service within the 15 days. due to not being able to male or receive calls, text took hours to come through.... i had made a deposit in my phone of $300....i waa told i would get it in the mail with in 30 days.....i called last week wondering where it could be....was told they put a rush on it and i would get it in the mail within 3 to 5 days.....7 days later i called again......now being told 6 to 8 more weeks.. just give me back MY money

I've gotta comment once again.
Wind was better but since shaw bought and now freedom mobile, it's aweful. Manually switching at least 10 times a day to get service to work. I'm right in the heart of the coverage map, not a dead zone. It's constantly switching from freedom to "nationwide". Don't do it! I've missed calls, texts are randomly getting through.
It's a nightmare. If it's working for others, great! But from what I see on most for the reviews, I'm not alone.

This is the worst phone company of any one I have used in my life. Their customer service is shockingly horrible, none of their representatives can speak clear English and refuse to do anything to even investigate an issue with your plan or an error in their end.
I signed up for a plan with them in person at the store and since then the service has not worked at all. The data does not work and messages are not recieved. When I called the store I went to, I had to call 5 times before someone answered and even then they refuse to even look at the account unless you come into the store. Then they say they cannot do anything to fix or even view an issue on the account and that I have to call customer service. When I call customer service I cannot get through to a person without a "PIN" which was supposed to be provided in the store but never was. The store says they cannot do anything, call customer service and customer service says they can't do anything go to the store. The store says they cannot give me the pin for the account I am paying for!
This entire company is a scam. You sign up for a plan with them, they take your money, do NOT provide the service promised and then refuse to help you in any way, they refuse to call even the number on the account to resolve the issue, they refuse to email the email on the account to give me the pin and they won't even check to see if the email is correct because when I reset my pin online I don't receive the reset email.
This company is sneaky and their goal is to scam you out of your money. If you want a phone that actually works, Pay a few extra dollars and go with a bigger more legitimate company.
I have used Rogers, Telus, Virgin mobile and Bell and all of them have WAY better customer service where they actually are willing to open the account and fix issues and contact the customer through phone AND email.
Don't make the same mistake I did by thinking I would recieved the service I am paying for!

Very very bad customer service as you called them and cancel your account but they will still charging your account for no reason. Once you call them and complain their answer is there is no cancellation record at our side and sorry we can not make any refund to your account. I used to have 3 numbers they canceled 2 and kept 1 number.
