Their DNS has been off line for about 4 hours now, meaning my web site has gone dark and nobody can send me e-mail. They are not answering their phones, and have posted nothing on their web site.

I was a Fluid Hosting VPS customer for over 10 years. Initially their service was outstanding. That degraded gradually over the years until "abysmal" would be a charitable description. They ultimately told me that I'd have to upgrade because they were shutting down the hardware I was on. I moved my website to another provider, and told FH to terminate my service and refund my money. They currently owe me over $700 which they want to give me as a service credit, and they don't even offer the service I need! Steer clear of these dishonest clowns.

When I signed up with them a decade ago the service was perfectly acceptable, though one thing that really annoyed me was the spammy dozen invoice/payment emails every month -- something that was never improved.
As time went on, their support department became closer and closer to non-existent. Support tickets would take quite a bit of time to receive a response, if at all. Their automatic payment system eventually stopped working for me and I'd manually pay via PayPal each month.
Last month, even though I fully paid money owed, my account was stuck in arrears with my VPS subscription in "graced state" meaning if they don't check their PayPal account within the billing month and confirm that I've paid, my account will be suspended and I could lose my VPS.
I spent the entire month regularly getting in touch via the online chat feature asking them to look at my support ticket, constantly being told they've sent a message to their supervisor or billing department manager, neither of whom I suspect has a pulse because I received no response or resolution thus far!
In two to three days from now my account will be suspended and I will lose access to my VPS, my emails, etc. I doubt their support team will be any less unhelpful in getting my account back up an running when that happens.
I'm a customer who's now effectively being refused service, in what I suspect is a systematic purge of all legacy VPS customers, since they've recently moved to some new VM-hosting system. Too much of a coincidence to be anything else.
Also, if anyone is wondering, my VPS is a low-end one and my usage is light to moderate, not heavy or disruptive in any way.
Their prices aren't good anyway, much better, cheaper VPSes out there, offering more memory, faster disk, more bandwidth, etc. The only reason I haven't left FluidVPS already was to avoid the hassle of a migration.
STAY AWAY!
tl;dr: Spammy invoices / payment issues / support team jerks you around / you could lose access to your VPS for no reason.

The old Fluidhosting seems to have disappeared, along with the helpful approach.
They changed their payment methods, so my autopay failed. Eventually after I raised a ticket they sent me a separate link for payment. By then they'd closed my account, and I'd opened one on another package on what looks like a different Fluidhosting.
After three weeks of going round in circles with mostly unhelpful answers and requests for user passwords, it isn't clear whether our websites can be recovered.
It's taken this long to get the new host account working, as the default option to set up an initial account seems to be to transfer from another registrar, which I wouldn't do.
Been a customer for over ten years; not much longer.

Horrible. Frustrating. It's very time consuming to have your ticket answered with cryptic half-assed answers. So you have to go back and address their answers and more cryptic, inarticulate, incompetent answers. Go elsewhere, I'm trying to.

Never, but NEVER use fluidhosting.com. I was a loyal customer for many years, paid all bills on time. Once I decided to terminate service after a completely unusable WP hosting service, I have been denied a refund, as well as being charged for a service I had already cancelled months back. Fluid Hosting now owes me 2 refunds for over 3 months and the response is either silence or "we will get back asap". Dave, from billing (perhaps not even a real person) is always "on tour". This is complete and absolute EXTORTION.

They're horrible. I had a website with them for three years or so. I got an email from them about migrating my account whatever that means.
I then got a bill from them for $150 which I paid. They then suspended my account. I've tried multiple times in multiple ways to reach them, with no success. When you call their number, no one answers and it just goes to voicemail for all the options they give. I've left many voicemails, but no one has called me back.
I tried emailing them. No response. I sent them a ticket and here is the automated response I got:
"This is an automated message at [their email address].
Unfortunately, no human has been assigned to watch this mailbox. For that reason, your email has not reached anybody at Fluid Hosting, and thus, your email will not be replied by anybody. This is the only reply you will receive."
So there is no way to get in touch with them and no service of any kind. That is what I call atrocious customer service.

We stayed with these jokers for about 10 years because the VPS we from them only had our test websites on them. They actually started off pretty good, but went totally down hill year after year after year.
Forget support. You can call them, but they never answer, so if your stuck, your just stuck because you will not get any help in a timely manner from them. They make you sign onto the sever to enter a support ticket, which is deadly if your server is down and you cannot log on.
Billing is atrocious. every single month plan on getting spammed with billing emails. They send an email for every single step of the billing process. That means every single month you get 7 or 8 emails for the same bill. Worse there is something wrong with their system. When a credit card expires and you update the expiration date, it stops billing automatically. Their Preauth email starts sending emails saying "Preauth transaction finished with error", but the card is charged.
After 10 yeas with this inept business, they sent an email saying that our server has been stopped at 11:30 at night. I went right to the server signed on. The websites had been deleted, along with the databases and a message said I owed $50, which was 1 month. I once again updated the credit card and clicked to pay the $50. It said it completed, but still showed I owed the $50, so I clicked to pay again and once again it showed it completed, but once again still showed I owed $50. Naturally I could not call these people or person (they act like a 1 man operation). I had no choice, but to just upload our test sites to our other VPS with InMotionHosting.com (inmotionhosting is a super hosting site and yes, I highly recommend it.
Fluidhosting emails are also a joke. They are all noreply. It does not matter if they are billing or support emails, you cannot reply to any of them.
In short, run don't walk from fluidhosting. One of the worst business I have ever had to deal with. I have not been this angry in over 20 years.

I was very happy with a wonderful hosting company named Steadfast, who unfortunately sold a portion of their company to Fluid Hosting. Nightmare. Since Andrew left (who was working out of the UK but told me they were all told to say they were in the US, I've never heard back from anyone.) Tech support rarely answers and the once a year I've heard back, its by email in wee hours of the night from a Vladimir, who never exactly answers what you ask, and has a snarky attitude on top of it.
I learned they work with people in Russia and India, and pay them really, really low wages. The current staff is not fluent in English and since Andrew left, no one ever has the courtesy to return a phone call. I'm in the process of switching but cannot get out of their billing system. Holding onto that, is the one thing they're good at.

Cancellation policy is extortionist. Support takes forever to reply. Cancellation requests take forever to be dealt with. Took two months to get an updated invoice. I'm now worried that, despite closing the account, they are still going to charge me next year.

Took over a year to get my accounts closed. After I first emailed and called them (and got no response), Fluid Hosting accepted responsibility and agreed that my accounts would have been terminated at that time had they responded. After following the process they required to terminate accounts, they closed one -- and left my 'annual' account open because it had been renewed during the time that they weren't responding to my requests to close it and they weren't sure whether I wanted to close it because I couldn't get a refund? It's maddeningly confusing.
In all, I should have been more vigilant about this company's continued billing, but getting them to simply close an account (much less actually respond to email or voicemail) has been like pulling teeth.
