One of the worst experiences I have had on Kickstarter. They never delivered on their many promises and in the end put together a very poorly manufactured product. I was one of the "lucky" ones to receive part of the pledge I designated. The carry on bag looked decent but after only a few trips, never checking it in, the zipper started to fail and the overall performance makes the bag useless. I've attempted to use the warranty but with no luck so far

STAY FAR AWAY!
Absolute incompetent bunch at best, they are now bust, despite the site still being live you will never receive your order!
I supported them on Kickstarter 3 years ago and have not received anything, plus they ran off with VAT and shipping cost that's not even part of the pledge or theirs to keep in any way.
Quality of the few units they managed to make is also bad, they failed on all levels on this product and should be held accountable for their actions. Don't bother reaching out to them, they resorted to just ignoring everyone and hope things blow over. Truly hope Karma will come back at them.

Never looked after the original backers, 3 years I have waited and still no case. Used my funds to build only US customers product and won’t ship my case to Australia. I won’t ever support a Kickstarter or Indiegogo project ever again, shame on you Oliver Lam, Shame on you for not fulfilling your promises to the people who supported you most.

After 2 years of waiting it arrived looked ok but not worth the $300 plus I paid for it
After 2 international trips and never checked in to the hold the wheels are worn and the side zipper
Broke . It was obviously a rushed production emailed Oliver the owner images but I don’t expect any reimbursement.
There is cheaper cooler luggage out there I would
Stay away from this brand

Absolute ripoff. Have had some good experiences with Indiegogo but this was just a big scam. This is the reply I got:
I trust you are having a lovely week.
The FLOATTI Team provides our sincerest apologies to all backers that will not be receiving a unit or refund; especially to backers outside of the United States.
As the funds raised is not enough, and we have been using our savings for almost a year sustaining the business and injected capital multiple times, we can no longer afford to continue operations. The partners of FLOATTI has also not taken salary or any funds since the beginning of the project.
Since we do have Retail Units in the United States, we are putting our savings one more time to ship these units to backers within the country. Therefore, we do provide our greatest apologies to backers outside of the United States to leave you empty handed.

I received it today. Out of the box, I noticed some flaws and defects. The main handle has dents and scrapes. The inside, the are a couple main stitches undone (and will get worst over time). The materials feels cheap. All rubber and plastic, even the handles etc. The wheels are ok, but not all that great. It's more of a $80 luggage at most

Funded the Floatti on Indiegogo in 2016 however almost 3 years later not received order and been refused a refund! I effectively loaned them $570 order interest free for 3 years so that they can fulfill other peoples orders.
In what world is that OK?
Sorry for the wait. Unfortunately, as we are working generating a healthy cash flow to assemble the remaining units for our backers, we cannot afford refunds/returns. We are negotiating a lower minimum order quantity with the factory to have another batch assembled sooner. We really to get the cash flow in order to submit this order and/or find additional funding. Production to shipment is quoted at 8-12 weeks, so even if all things go smoothly, the soonest arrival date will be mid 2019. Please keep in mind that depending on the size of the batch it will also determine which countries we will be shipping to.
The situation is stressful and concerning, but the FLOATTI Team is doing what we can to deliver all the units to our backers. Sorry for the wait.
Cheers,
-Oliver

I have had the Floatti carry-on since August 2018. It has handled many bumps on various surfaces and came through unscathed. It fits nicely in the overhead compartment.
The Carry-on itself is very light. The handle is sturdy and there is a built-in strap that I used to attach a small bag to the Carry-on. The laptop/mobile battery pack fits well in the separate case that also holds a laptop. My Dell laptop fits snugly in it, and the entire thing fits into the front pocket.
Overall, this is a good quality Carry-on.

It's overpriced. It does glide easily over most surfaces. It's protective and your items are protected. The strap for holding briefcase, additional bags or sweaters and jackets is convenient. The pouch that pulls out is handy. They included a large battery charger with USB ports. Make sure you call the airline and ask about whether they'll allow the battery on the plane. (Along with a tile BT device, you can also throw in a portable charger and it'll be less expensive than the suitcase. These are things to keep in mind. Is it worth $400 for the trackers, battery, digital scale, wheels and little containers they sent, I'm guessing because they didn't deliver on the smart handle? That's for people to decide. My answer would be "NO" so I'll go into the Cons: it's way overpriced. I backed it on Kickstarter because it was supposed to have a smart handle. I wasn't the only backer to say I was willing to wait until they could get the smart handle to work. I can throw a tile device into a suitcase and it's a lot less expensive. I have a digital scale so it's really just a hard shell carry on. Customer support isn't good and I'm being kind when I write this. I sent a dozen or more emails to "customer support" and I never received a response. I had to comment on their FB page before getting a response. While I didn't get a smart handle, I should have gotten working trackers but both had dead batteries and one is broken and can't be repaired. They refuse to send me a working tracker which is simply unacceptable. This tells me that it's highly doubtful they'll honor their warranty. If you're buying it for the warranty, I don't think they'll be around long enough to honor the 5 year warranty which was actually a 10 year warranty which I backed the project. I don't know if they have a manual online yet but along with two dead batteries and one broken tracker, the locking mechanism is very confusing and there was no manual with instructions. This suitcase needs a manual! When I was finally able to look inside, that's where I saw corners cut. The straps are fine but the clips are half the thickness of my dog's collar. I don't see those lasting long before they break. There were a lot of lose threads on the inside, again suggesting that this is where quality control wasn't great. The lining will tear easily and without zipper pulls, it's very difficult to use. The main battery is inside the lining and the battery is replaceable but the zipper stuck and it is caught up in the lining. I went to a company that high end handbags are sent for repair. They could not get the zipper open and told me I'd have ripped lining or I'd have to replace it. So, I'll only have what remains of this battery for the digital scale. I hope the locks aren't in some way connected to the battery. I sent messages but they've yet to respond and I doubt they will. This should be covered under the warranty but it's radio silence on their end.
The carry on WILL NOT fit in overhead bins on smaller aircraft so you'll need to be prepared as airlines change planes frequently. On smaller planes, it will have to be gate checked so keep all valuables and items you want in the pull out pouch. Airlines are strict where it comes to their overhead bin real estate and this carry on is just a few MM too big for airline compliance. I'm guessing that anyone flying coach will be not be able to store it in an overhead bins since there's no wiggle room with a hard shell carry on. I was able to store it in an overhead bin in first class but it would have been gate checked if I was flying coach. For long trips, that's unfortunate. It's also heavier than the carry on I normally use. I will also say that it's pretty small. Don't expect to pack it full. I went on a weekend trip and my clothes did not fit. Again, there's no room for expansion. The suitcase does scratch easily but a lot of the scratches can be wiped off. If you expect your luggage to remain pristine, especially checked luggage, like any other suitcase, baggage handlers aren't known for being dainty. Overall, I'm underwhelmed with what I received. I would not have backed it had I known they'd nix the smart handle. You can get a better carry on, throw in a BT device and portable charger and you've got almost everything they're selling you.
