First Bus Drivers don't know what Customer Service is.
The bus driver who did the X78 from Sheffield Interchange to Doncaster Interchange on 5th October at 6.45 when he saw me rushing to get the bus he went off to not taking me.
And who it was even more apalling he left at 6.44 instead of 6.45.
No comments it's a first driver we can't be surprised

As a student commuting in Birmingham, not only am I spending £23 a week for my travel - with no option for a monthly/termly ticket unless I want to go in the opposite direction - but the buses are never on time, the drivers are often snarky and incompetent. They don't listen to what ticket I want and so it often takes several tries to get the ticket that I want. A deplorable service overall and one that has kickstarted my desire to learn to drive to have to avoid it!

Why am I not surprised that this page has nothing but 1-star reviews?? Another day late to work for me again, maybe another warning from my bosses ... I’m finding it hard enough to be positive in the mornings at the moment, then when I do it’s ruined by the anxiety and anger around the bus! AND THE CHEEK OF IT- I got told this morning the fares are going up tomorrow !!!! How dare they charge us more when we aren’t getting the service we aren’t paying for in the first place!

Worth less than 1 star.
Buying a ticket on the app is pointless as the QR codes don't scan on the actual buses.
Twice in a row on a return journey, NONE of the buses have shown up first time, meaning a half an hour wait each time for the second bus.
It's not that hard, surely?

Very rude and aggressive large older female bus driver on number 2 bus in Portsmouth, as I approached the bus she started the engine, upon knocking on the door to let her know I wanted to board she looked at me angrily and then opened the doors shouting aggressively at me "Ive been waiting here for 5 minutes" she then repeated this statement followed by staring at me angrily and then printing my ticket whilst ignoring me. appalling service, formal complaint has been made.

The drivers are actual mutants probably bred in an underground lab, the buses are always late or stinking, customer support is non existant, complaints department are morons.

I caught a replacement bus for a 20 minute train journey from Bristol to Yatton which took 65 minutes. The bus was noisy especially in reverse. The driver was unsure of the route and took a long detour because he said he couldn't reverse the bus! Very relieved to eventually arrive in Yatton but the worse bus journey ever. Not an acceptable replacement at all.

Late the vast majority of the time. Dirty vehicles, to the point where you can’t even see out the window to look out for your stop. The drivers are incredibly rude and have repeatedly failed to stop at a modest hail, even though they should be required to stop anyway, as there are people who are partially sighted and can’t see the number on a speeding bus until it’s too late. Any complaint to the drivers will either get you the worst attitude I’ve ever seen in public facing posts, and their customer service is appalling. Cherry on top: they literally charge the same as trains!

The 471 service between Bury and Rochdale is appalling! Every 10 minute service you say? Yeah, my a***! There were many times that me and other angry passengers had to wait almost an hour for one of your busses to finally turn up and when we confronted the driver about it, all we get from them is a shrug saying ‘I’m only a driver’ or ‘a bus broke down’ what?? 5 days in a row?? Who the fudge are you kidding here??? You may aswell change ALL the timetables to ‘we will turn up whenever or probably never’ cos your timetables are a bunch LIES!!! I finish work at 5pm and most times I don’t even get home until 7 or 7:30 pm because of your sh** service!!! You may aswell f*** this service off altogether cos your absolutely pointless!!!! 😡😡😡

Usual bus at 6:47 to work but the driver set off 2 mins early and I missed it just as I was about to get to the stop. I ran all the way through town to try and catch up, saw the bus coming, Put my hand out and the same driver still ignored me and drove past. I’m not having it, bare in mind this is on a cold and wet morning and at 6:50 so it’s not like the driver was too busy to wait, ignorant bloke. On his backside all day on over £12 an hour and can’t wait for one person? When he’s already ahead of schedule by 2 minutes? I’m using DNG from now on, I’ve never had a problem with them from what I remember and they’re always 10-15 minutes faster so bye first bus.

My poor wife has to get from Nacton Road in Ipswich to Martlesham Heath by 7.00am every weekday morning for her job. According to the joke of a timetable issued by First Bus a number 60A should arrive at her stop on Nacton Road at 6.01am, giving her just enough time to get her connection number 66 from Ipswich town centre to Martlesham Heath. My wife buys a monthly ticket for this service which is currently costing her £60. For years now the buses have been late, or have not turned up at all. If it's not one it's the other. My wife has lost at least 150 hours per year of pay through no fault of her own but because this bus company is irresponsible. I can understand services being late or cancelled now and again, but to be late or cancelled more often than not is surely unacceptable. My wife would never complain herself but I feel enough is enough and First Bus should compensate her for lost earnings. I won't hold my breath.

I considered not even rating them because I'm being forced to give them one star - that implies there is *something* good about First Leeds buses.
Drivers attitudes' stink. Buses after the morning buses are always late/never run to the timetable (supposedly every 10 mins). And often say they're "due" on the matrices and then 45 mins later, am still stood there. And customer service - haha, that is one big joke - they say they'll respond within 14 working days (what sort of service level is that tin this day and age?!) but *if* they do, they fob me off with excuses up about having insufficient drivers (that's not *my* problem when I'm buying a monthly pass and you've got my money upfront but then don't provide a service!!!). If you have insufficient drivers ALL of the time, then maybe it's time to employ some new ones (and also clear out the miserable/grumpy ones while you're at it) - there's plenty of people out there that need employment (although tbh I'd never apply for a job with First as I'd be embarrassed to work for them)

When all bus journeys end at Buchanan Street
This is a deadly serious post about a rather nasty event that happened to me this afternoon.
I got aboard the Firstbus F9 at Lawn Street at 2:47PM and asked for Hawkhead Road, a short local journey of a few stops.
As usual, their cheating driver of the day (no 58361) gave me a ticket for Glasgow Buchanan Street and not Paisley. When I asked why, I got verbal abuse from their driver who claimed' it doesn't matter' it's free. Well, it's not free, it is paid for, by the Scottish Office from taxation, so it is not free, and he wasn't happy to be told that.
When I arrived opposite ICELAND in Glasgow Road, Paisley, The driver opened the doors then closed them on me as I tried to leave the bus.
I may be a pensioner, but I'm not frail, so I forced the doors apart and jumped off. In my book, this behaviour constitutes assault.

They get it 'wrong' 99% of the time, in their favour of course.
Like the many dozens of other bogus FIRST tickets. I took a photo, for personal reference.
When I got home, raging mad, I phoned Renfrewshire Council using the number printed on the back of my bus pass, That same council who despite being the issuer of my national National Entitlement Ticket, wanted nothing to do with the matter.
This beggars belief! The council issues tickets and FIRSTBUS get to take them to the cleaners.
How does that work? One can only guess.
Just off the phone to SPT using the 0141 333 3211 number on the back of my pass, and guess what..... They are not interested and can't help. Said I should maybe phone FIRSTBUS.
Why would I want to phone the very people who are scamming the system?
This abuse of the system by FIRSTBUS needs to stop.

Usually we have a brilliant travel with First Bus and usually very reliable, but today we had to wait 29 minutes for the bus and then had to wait five minutes at a bus stop that no one even got on.

Very very disappointing service, I have been getting busses for 4 years and now having to get the bus for the first in 4 years due to vehicle repair, I am honestly appalled by this service, thought it was improve over the years, but guess I was wrong. The service has gotten worse, not enough buddies to cover the peak times, I have missed my shuttle to work for the third time running, your timetable, app, and bus stop screen all day different things.
No busses between 8am and 830am, even when they turn up, they are full by the time they get to my stop, so I am always late, really unreliable for the times we live in,
Finishing work is the same story, plenty of 2,3,3A and 12,13,13A buddies going past except the 7,7A.
Seriously this route needs attention immediately, it’s making a lot of people angry

Where to start? The regular increase in prices for a diminishing service? Buses disappearing into the Bermuda Triangle, several at a time during rush hour. Woeful Twitter presence, copy and paste responses. 14 days response time for complaints, every one of which is simply a "sorry, nothing we can do".

I work at the Norwich and Norfolk Hospital. I pay £19 a week for a weekly ticket and so far out of 5 days I’ve had to get a taxi home 3 times costing me a total of £36. I finish at 10pm and SHOULD get the 13a bus at 10.15pm into the city, then get my last bus back home at 10.45pm. 3 days this week the 13a has been over 25 minutes late and tonight (Friday) it was over 35 minutes late resulting in me getting the last possible bus from the hospital and then a 40 minute walk back home, which is certainly not welcomed after a 8 hour shift and over 12 miles walked at work. An absolutely abysmal service and to rate it bad is a compliment.
