Avoid this guy! Ordered some feather patches. After 2 weeks I sent an email; No response. Sent a second email, and no response. Finally called, and he said he needed an additional $1.91 for tracking. A normal business would have notified the customer. I asked about the emails and he said he doesn't read them, you need to call. Another week goes by and no feathers. I call again, and he says they have shipped. I responded that I got no shipping notification via PayPal. He said I should see them any day. I logged into PayPal and the tracking confirmed they have a tracking number, but have not shipped. This guy should not be allowed to do business. He clearly has issues. Avoid this business if you don't want a hassle!

I ordered feathers from feathers from this guy. Credit card payment taken very quick hence the name [quick take ] problem is didn't receive the feathers repeated attempts to contact apparently fell on dear ears.fool me once , shame on me try to fool me again shame on you O WHAT TANGLED WEBS WE WEAVE WHEN WE TRY TO DECEIVE. iN MY world the pen is mighterer than the sword.

After placing my order at the featheremporium I checked out some reviews and they were mostly negative. If I had seen that earlier, I would probably not have bought anything there.
Placed my order on May 15th and 3 hours later David sent me a paypal request to pay for the shipping (to the Netherlands) that I paid the next morning. Then it went silent for almost a week... I sent David a couple of emails asking for a status update, but didn't get any replies. That didn't feel good, but hey, just wait and see, he's a human too.
6 days later I received a mail from USPS that a shipping label was created and 2 days later a new email from USPS that an item was received at a local USPS facility. That's a relief!
From there it took 5 more days and then I received my order. I received USPS updates for every airport it visited (Chicago, Dallas, Amsterdam), how it cleared customs and that it was delivered to my doorstep.
So in 12 days I got what I paid for, half a saddle and half a neck. I couldn't see if they were real Whiting, they were in plain zip bags, but they are nice feathers, similar to the pictures on the website. He probably has whole capes that he sells as 1/2 and 1/4 and that's just fine with me.
So in the end I'm happy with what I received and would also consider buying there again.

Do yourself a favor and search the fly tying forums for posts that include thefeatheremporium.com. I wish I had. I placed an order for some very common items and then days turned into weeks with no word regarding my order. Proprietor did not respond at any time to emails or phone calls. After three weeks my order still had not shipped and this merchant would not respond. I had to open a Paypal case to get a refund.

Ordered feathers over a month ago. Today's haven't received them. Called 8 times mes requesting a call back to find out when they were coy- no return calls. Won't answer emails, messages etc. Still waiting; And it's not like they shipped from China it's in Wisconsin....what's up????

I placed my order on May 25th. I received a confirmation of my order the same day.
Order was shipped on May 26th and I received the feathers ( in Switzerland) today, June 2th. Feather ( Darbee Rooster Cape + some 100'Packs) are very nice. For me a great value for money.
There is not my first order to Featheremporium and I always received what I wanted. Honestly , one time I waited about a month to receive my order but normally after about 10 days. For me is more than normal for an international shippment to Switzerland.

For once, I placed an order before checking a sites review. Lucky coincidence, cause I would never had done business with featheremporium if I had read the reviews first...
Package arrived yesterday - about 20 days after the order was placed. Thats not bad at all for an international transport! Quality of the product was great. David fills his 100-packs with enough feathers to make 300 flies...
All in all, I had a great experiance dealing with featheremporium, and I have allready placed my next order!

I ordered from Feather Emporium twice. The first time things went well. The second time they did not. I had to call and remind him of the order. Finally, I ended up meeting him in Madison to get the feathers. The Whiting 100 packs that he sells are not packaged by Whiting. He puts feathers in sandwich bags. I didn't mind this, until I tried to tie with the feathers. Some were okay, some were the wrong size, and some had strangely thick barbules that made them unsuitable for tying. I don't know if that might have come from improper dying. When I called to complain, he got very nasty. I will eat the cost so that I never have to deal with this person again. I believe that he is not an authorized Whiting dealer, but may have been on at some time, and is selling stock. Buy from anyone but this guy!

Do not under any circumstances deal with these people. They cannot get the order right and just send anything that suits them, rather than what you actually ordered. They do not return any emails when you enquire as to what went wrong with the order.

I am from Italy and placed my first order in April, 5 whiting half capes.
Though a little disappointed for the packaging (not a genuine whiting one), the capes are awesome and the delivery didn't take long, considering it was managed by USPS.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the reviews and seeing the website is now shut but of course it must have been no collective hallucination phenomenon !
Anyhow, based on my personal experience, my review cannot be other than aenthusiastic; I feel sorry for all the other customers who had such a bad experience.

I placed an order for Christmas of 2017. There was never any sign whatsoever of a fulfillment of my order. I sent several emails with no response. No calls were answered or returned. Still today, no sign of making it right. Just a complete rip-off!

David at Feather Emporium might be the biggest and most unprofession joker I've ever had the mispleasure of speaking to and attempting to do business with. Ordered $260 worth of products, he processed a label, but never sent the package out. Called him 3 times in two weeks only to have him tell me he would call me back as he was on his way to whereever the heck he ships from, but never did. After over 2 weeks of not getting the products I paid for, and no communication, I finally got ahold of him again where he gave absolutley no concern over the whole ordeal. Zero customer service skills, rude, angry, testy, highly triggered that I would dare to complain or be upset about not getting what I paid for. Thankfully this transaction was done over PayPal and got my money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOKE OF A WANNABE MOM & POP SHOP.

I have been trying to get feathers from David Roberts, at Feather Emporium, for months now, without any success. I`ve e-mailed, I`ve called, and I always get the same response. No return e-mail, and an excuse on the phone about why he has to call me back. He never does call back though.
I finally e-mailed Whiting Farms, and here is their response:
I am sorry for your experience with Feather Emporium. Although Dave Roberts is selling Whiting Farms products, he is no longer a dealer for us. He has bought thousands of pelts from us in the past and I would guess he still has a large amount of our product to move. We do not have him listed as one of our dealers and we do not encourage anyone to purchase from him. Again, I apologize for any inconveniences.
So there you have it folks. Don`t order from Feather Emporium, because he can``t and won`t fill your order - he will be happy to take your money though.

Website offers great deals on high quality feathers but he doesn't actually have them and you won't get them. After multiple emails and phone calls I finally received a partial order. Fortunately PayPal offers buyer protection and after 10 weeks I was finally able to get a partial refund. David promises delivery every time you talk to him but he is just a con artist. Don't fall for it!

I got to this website trying to buy some feathers. The website looked very nice. And I was excited.
I placed my order, and after almost 2 months I have nothing. They won't answer the phone to me. Or answer emails.
No feathers, no money returned.
