Expedia do not even deserve a 1 star in my opinion.
My Expedia account has been hacked. 3 nights hotel stay was booked in Istanbul whilst I was in the UK and Expedia have refused to provide me with a full refund.
They are unable to protect their customers from fraudulent activity which has taken place due to their weak security systems. Please everyone beware and do not save your card details on your Expedia account.
I have contacted Expedia a number of time regarding this matter and their customer service is atrocious. They are useless and have been no help at all.
I am extremely disappointed as I have had nearly £200.00 stolen from my account by Expedia and they claim no responsibility for this even though I have had emails from them which clearly state someone who was unauthorised accessed my account.
Booking.com is a much better option for people who are wanting to book. I have used booking.com a number of times and they provide a much better customer service. I will never use Expedia again!

They are operating a scam with Ryanair. You book a holiday through Expedia. You can book accommodation, seats, transfers etc. however you cannot book baggage. I am reasonable savvy and assumed at some point the option for baggage would come up. If you interrogate the baggage options it say that baggage booked at the time of booking was a price and subsequently would be more. Naively i continued with the booking as there was no option for baggage i assumed i would have to immediately go to Ryanair and book the baggage. I did this and i had to pay an extra £60 as Ryanair classed this as not at the time of booking. I followed this up with Expedia customer services and initially i was lied to and told that i had missed the selection for baggage. I continued to pursue this and eventually they confirmed that there was no option to book baggage. Their excuse for this scam was to blame Ryanair and said each airline has different baggage policies and they didn't know Ryanair's policy despite providing a link to the Ryaniar site explaining their policy.

Recently me and a group of 4 others booked a holiday through Expedia to Kraków, due to a last minute cancellation with wizz air we could not attend the holiday. We booked hotel, flights and transfers through Expedia, when we tried gaining refunds for all this the hotel was unable to refund and the same with the transfers, within 30 minutes Expedia said that they will refund everything that we payed and the money was back in my account within 24 hours, it saved a long process of getting individual refunds and couldn’t not rate Expedia customer services anymore would always book though this site in the future

car hire via Expedia. they clearly have not had communication with the car rental company Easicar as I paid on the basis of the terms sent to me and when I went to collect the car the car hire company wanted 400.00 more. I couldn't afford that so no car now!

Absolute garbage. Hotel booking dates love to change on their own without any warning so you end up booking a non-refundable hotel on the wrong date. Customer service can go commit a self die. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Book your hotel elsewhere or else!

I can honestly say I have experienced the worst customer service ever from Expedia. If there was on option for zero stars I would have chosen it - Terrible!
I have been referred to by my surname, kept waiting for unreasonable lengths of time and generally mistreated as a customer. I have spent 10 hours chasing up a complaint - they are not interested in the slightest - they are only interested in new sales.
If Expedia were the only travel company in existence I would stay at home.
Stay clear of Expedia - I have no idea how they get away with it. Does anyone know who regulates them - I will be getting in touch!

Birmingham - Paris CDG - Boston - Return - Dec 2019
Firstly the Boston leg was flagged up as being a Virgin Atlantic flight and it was not (it was operated by Air France).
Secondly tried to contact Experian before we travelled to arrange an upgrade (wife-bad back - long story) and this travel agent has to have the worst call centre in the business. Here is a top tip - if you are constantly experiencing "above average call volumes" which is what your annoying message repeats then the chances are good that you have not got the staffing levels in the call centre right!
No luck before we travelled but did manage to contact the Experian customer service team by email when we were in the USA only to discover that Experian USA has no relationship to Experian UK (and no desire/ability to deal with one another). Really Experian - this is the customer service of the 1970's!
In short dont book through these people - I certainly wont be again!

Expedia are the worst travel agent to book thru.
They do not even deserve one star!
They failed to tell me that I needed a transit visa at Heathrow and this cost me a new ticket on a different airline!
Trying to contact them was a total waste of time.
They have absolutely no sympathy for their passengers and simple refer you to the Airline who do the same so you are stuck in the middle of two unhelpful companies. The most annoying thing was that my tickets on BA were sold again. My husband continued on those flights and confirmed that the seats next to him had been filled on the Jbg- Heathrow, Heathrow- Berlin flights there and back. Despite the fact that I cancelled the tickets at the airport as advised by BA we have had no positive reaction from either who simply refer us between each other!

I bought a return ticket from AtlasGlobal (IST-STN) via Expedia UK app. The airline is cancelled all European flights until 31 March 2020 and explained on website and newspapers. When I called Expedia UK customer services, firstly I talked with a lady and she took all information about the flights and transfer me to one of colleges, I am still on the phone and I already waited 1 hour for change/cancellation. What kind of ridiculous waiting this? Are they kidding with us?

We have booked several city breaks through Expedia. The booking process is very easy and Expedia send all the correct documentation via email within a couple of minutes of booking. They also have very good deals.
I would recommend Expedia for booking city breaks rather than beach holidays.

Appalling! Virtually fraudulent in terms of their service to B and B proprietors. Fail to respond to queries, laughably complicated systems and zero customer service. Avoid like the plague!

Expedia has been awful and sold me a product with the wrong information and now retracted their promise of a refund. I specifically searched Instanbul City Centre and the hotel I went on to book showed it was in the main city centre. Later when I received confirmation, I realised that it's actually well over an hour away and I called expedia immediately the same evening. They were very helpful at first, they said they can see where it's gone wrong, the hotel is very far and they will first check if the hotel will offer the refund and if not they will. Now this has gone on for a few weeks, I've been chasing them every day. The hotel refused a refund twice, they even said to me this is wrong but they cover the refund as it was a mistake on their website and then today emailed me saying they won't refund me and case closed. I called straight away and the only resolution I was offered was to try and get the money back from my bank of PayPal. They are clearly admitting fault but still refusing to refund me, they offered me £100 in credit to my account 'immediately' which was another false statement as nothing has come through. I even said to them I am happy to take it all in credit if I can just book a hotel which is actually in the city centre but they say their system won't allow this and it's all they can offer me. My consumer rights say if I was sold a product or service with misleading information I am entitled to a refund and even compensation. I've booked them 5+ times before no issues but as soon as an error happened they have been completely useless and unhelpful. Let me £400 out of pocket.

I booked the bear hotel woodstock through expedia for New year's eve and New year's day, delux double room, breakfast and free parking. Cost £287.25. Arrived and was told £20 to park car and rate didn't include breakfast. And to make matters worse their restaurant was closed for a nye function. It took me an hour on the telephone to Expedia to get a refund. My wife and I tryed to find to an alternative hotel, but everywhere was booked. So we had no alternative other than to go home. Expedia completely ruined our new year. No offer of any form of compensation from them. DISGRACEFUL.Having now seen your appauling reviews l cannot understand why you are in business, you should be closed down. Fingers crossed you will be. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Booked activities on a trip of a lifetime for me and my daughter using the expedia app. The tickets were invalid once we arrived at the destination even though i had brought them that morning. We wasnt the only family however, at least 6 that i seen were turned away or forced to pay again and were told to phone Expedia for a refund. Nobody including myself could get through to find out what was going on. It caused a lot of embarrassment and a lot of upset

I fly regularly to Africa and have used Ethiopian Kenya and Emirates who all give 2 bags at up to 23Kgs
My last flight to Lusaka iI used Expedia and found at the last minute I was only allowed one book in bag,
I am now trying to fly to Lusaka and find the cost of an extra bag iof 23Kgs is £621 Ethiopian tell me for the same flight they allow a second bag free.
An exorbitant profit to Expedia and sharp practice as this is hard to discover.
In addition it is impossible to speak to a human.

Green Motion, Gatwick Airport, I allege a Car Rental scam and fraud
It seems my story is similar to so many here. I August 2019 I booked Green Motion car hire via expedia.co.uk. By Expedia continuing to allow car rental booking for Green Motion through their website, they are aiding Green Motion in their alleged scams and fraud of customers like me. Read on for how bad it is...
I returned the rental car in good condition on Monday December 30th - only to find they had found 4 minor/imperceivable scratched/dents/chips not listed on the original damage report. I protested they were imperceivable and pre-existing. That's the scam ! Less than 48 hours later I get a emailed bill for totalling GBP 1,078.65 (CAD $1919.57). The maximum on my rental agreement they could have charged me was GBP 1,205.00. That's a ~80% mark-up on what any regular bodywork garage would charge to fix something like this. I allege fraud.
Like just about everyone else in this situation, I had a plane to catch and couldn’t hang around to argue. I wish I had read the reviews first and did more filming/photography of everything.
Even without the highest level of proof, I'm going to take this complaint as far as I can legally, even at my own expense. In the meantime I will be doing all that I can to raise awareness of this charlatan/fraudster company (and it's franchisees) so that hopefully someone else doesn’t fall into the same trap. Expedia - let me write a review of this company - to show everybody how bad they are ! PLEASE !

If nothing goes wrong you are fine. There is nothing wrong with their online booking platform. However it is not updated as it should be which can result in misinformation or the lack and if you have a problem do not expect any help or an apology as their customer service team, they are generally polite but hopeless at resolving problems
