As an expat for the last 14yrs I have been insured with a number of very large insurance companies and they have all been horrendous to deal with when making a claim, (which is when you discover what they are really like),...Not Expatriate Healthcare, they are beyond fantastic to deal with, from the sales dept through to claims and everywhere in between, I would not hesitate to recommend them!

I am now based in Poland and travel extensively on Business. I have both health and travel insurance with Expat and have not had anything but good experiences. Great staff very helpful and willing go the extra mile to help out when you need it most. I will be continuing my relationship with this company going foward. Many thanks to all concerned with my accounts.

Deborah Falvey, Expatriate Group's Claims Manager provided very swift service for a claim I submitted on behalf of my client. Her communication was clear and the process was seamless, making a very positive impression on my client, thanks so much. As an international health insurance broker, its always a pleasure working with them.

After a health issue whilst on holiday in Belgium I contacted Expat Insurance to advise them of the situation. Following an initial complication with their call centre representative I contacted Deborah Falvey (claims manager), who straightened everything out and has been dealing with the claim ever since. She has kept me fully informed and made the whole process as smooth and stress free as possible. Today, 3 months after the initial incident, the hospital emailed me with more spurious invoices, I simply cc'd her into the email and she immediately stepped in the took control of the situation, putting my mind at rest once again. We will definitely be staying with expat insurance.

My second review after just signing up for the 3rd year with Expatriate Healthcare Insurance. I made a rather quick dash from Indonesia to Malaysia due to multiple and seemingly unrelated pain, not an emergency... In doing so I quickly dashed off a late note to Karen Goldstraw and explained what I was doing. As usual, her kind and thorough follow up set my mind at ease and I went through all the tests without stress. This will be my first claim so I have no feedback on that service yet. However, I trust it will follow the same excellent service I experience each time I contact Karen with a question or problem. To be continued...

I did not see any worse company. purchased full insurance. insured luggage. January 13 flew to Spain. the luggage did not arrive on time. turned to the insurance company. respond very long. most appeals are ignored. asking for some additional luggage receipts. although there was no overweight or extra baggage. ask again several times the documents that were previously sent by mail. 2 times changed specialist. It is now April 1 and there is still no solution to my problem. money paid in empty. I'll go to court. if you want to buy useless insurance, then contact them.

The start was great. They are very fast in replies and help you to understand the system. But when it comes to question about what is pre-existing and what they cover, then it gets not so clear anymore and they will excuse all based on doctors.
They also say for pre-aproval it takes only 5 days. Which can take month. Because they ask you more and more papers. Ask you back to over 10 years. Things you can even not remember. Ask you from all the doctors the address. So if you're a traveler or expat and change places you might not remember each doctors name, address especially if you're not frequent going to a doctor. They will work hard to find any small excuse, that any thing you might have in the first 2 years not have to pay that might in any way be here before. If you know it or not. It sounds very nice in their papers and what their sales personal tell you. But don't get blinded. Even they cannot proof they will find ways. So if you take the insurance, make sure you have nothing in the first 2 years. And as said pre-approvals can take month as they ask more and more and more papers.
So better prepare to pay by yourself ahead and get a 50/50 chance to get it approved.
So all sounds a bit nicer than in reality. So just don't think it is in any kind better than any other. Possible illness you bring in you don't know about will not be paid for. And they will take month to find the smallest glimps so they do not have to pay.
I will definitely not extend and go with a company that gives me clear answers and guidelines.

I recently renewed my travel insurance policy with this company for a third year. Changing from European to Worldwide for the second year was easy. When I had difficulties working out how to revert to European again this time the Live Chat option was very helpful.
I had my first ever medical emergency on holiday in July and when I visited the hospital an administrator rang the Emergency Number for me. They were given a Letter of Guarantee and a case number, which meant I did not have to pay any fees directly. It couldn't have been easier and was very reassuring. A big bonus at what was a stressful time.

Do not use these guys!! Just to get a preauthorisation for a diagnosis they wanted me and my GP to fill in multiple forms even though I had already gone to my GP to write a referral. Once I did fill in their forms as requested, I was then told I actually had to fill in a different form and provide all my travel and passport details, as I'm claiming as an expat!!
I paid for the highest premium for this insurance and they are making me jump hoops just to get a simple prognosis from a specialist.
I am livid!! Go for Bupa instead!

First I will say I only just signed up for my policy today so I have had no experience yet with making any claims with Expatriate Healthcare. But the assistance and communication I was given by Karen Goldstraw who signed me up for the policy was without a doubt 5 star. My situation is quite complex so i had a lot of unusual necessities for cover and had a lot of requests and questions. All my emails were answered promptly and clearly. It was very important to me that my family's health insurance came from a company where communication was of a high standard as I need to know that if I ever make any claims they will be dealt with efficiently. Their value for money is also a lot better than almost all the other insurance companies I made enquiries too.

If you buy travel insurance for peace of mind when traveling LOOK ELSEWHERE!!
I am currently traveling and without divulging too much information (I plan on taking legal action) - let's say the company has not provided adequate support or (zero) coverage for my emergency.
I am currently sitting with limited mobility and the insurance company is providing no help.
JUST BE WARNED!!!! DISHONEST COMPANY WITH NO ALL INTENTION TO MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE CHEATING THEM!

Staff are very helpful and go out of their way to help. Would be great if Maternity cover was an option rather than being automatically included. Also would like the option to pay by AMEX.

The online purchase option was user friendly. Price is competitive. However it is the customer service that makes the experience a positive one. I had great help from Lucia via live chat. Thank you.

Whilst living in Thailand I had pain in my left knee. MRI Scan showed damage to my Meniscus.I gave my details to the hospital who contacted Expatriate insurance to confirm that they would pay for the operation. It took around a week for confirmation to be giving but as it wasn't life threatening there was no major rush. I did have to pay for the MRI scan myself, but i theory i could have claimed it back as it led to treatment being needed, but to be honest i could not be bothered All in all they did what it said on the Tin so i can have no complaints. I recently renewed with them for a second time with no hassle, so i would recommend them so far. Hopefully i won't need them again. But if so i have confidence in their service.
