I booked the car via KLM (because I booked the flight there) I selected Europcar because it was stated that Europcar is on the airport. I found that they have a little office at the airport but they only pick you up there and bring you to another place outside the airport. One at the pick up station we had to wait for more that 30 minutes before it was our turn. (with only one couple before us...) The car itself was ok. When returning the car the return location was not reachable because of a hugh traffice jam. We tried to drop off the car at the airport kiosk. This was a hassle. At first they did not want to help me. Then after some attempts I was allowed to leave the car a the parking on the airport. It costed me 25 Euro extra. I also could not fill up the fuel because the fuel station was not reachable for the same reason. That costed me of course also a lot extra. Personnel was not service friendly. For me no more Europcar...

Everything went smoothly. Only the online booking platform was a bit clumsy. Some of the information had to be entered repeatedly in differently looking forms. The platform kept changing the entered times. I was unable to book a car for 9 am as the system kept changing the pick-up time to 7.30 am. The car class was provided as booked and the car was good.

Helpful team. Fast processing. Clean, new car. The car didn't complied with the size specification because 2 suitcases didn't fit in the luggage space. A problem with the built-in radio/navigation has been partially solved by a stand-alone navigation equipment.

I had booked a prepaid rental car for November and our travel plans changed. I sent 5 emails to the customer service email address on my invoice. I received 5 automatic responses saying someone would contact me within 48 hours. No one did. I had asked about cancelling or changing the rental dates, and what the cost associated would be. I finally received a new invoice with the rental dates changed. I emailed them back asking for an invoice in English (like the first one) so I could understand the extra costs etc. for a rental that was one week shorter. I have not heard back yet. I am running out of time to cancel completely. I wonder if that is their strategy.

It started as we when we arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time the office was closed even though we were inside normal operating hours (10am)
The agent didn’t arrive until 10minutes after the agreed pickup time.
We paid extra for a full insurance trough the company and the next morning after the car had been returned I got a call that there was damages on the car.
The small scratch had clearly happend while parked at Europcars designated parking. And even though I had a full insurance I had to pay 50€extra for apparently reporting a small scratch on the front bumper.
While discussing this the agent told me that since I don’t read French I shouldn’t rent cars in a French country.
The service experience was horrible. Rude personnel, unhelpful and an overall bad experience.
I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy.

Basically my experience was positive. Two remarks nevertheless.
It deemed to be neccessary to exchange the first car. The right rear lamp was damaged (already when I picked up the car). This lead to a situation in which I was not allowed to use the car on the site of a factory. Thus a change of the car was required.
Secondly: During the change of the car it was not possible to communicate in the English language. The empoyees nevertheless were very helpfull and friendly.

So far the booking process on the local Martinique Europcar website was effortless. The good part of the booking online was the option of purchsing the premium insurance package. On the local website in Germany this was not possible.

People had to wait for ages to get into to the Shuttlebus to the Europcar station, 20 people with luggage were waiting, the shuttle had a capacity for 8 people...The driver watched the ladies loading and unloading the luggage without even thinking about offering help.
Once at the Europcar station we had to search for our car, found it somewhere hidden in the dark...
Returning the car was even worse, arrived 2,5 hours before the scheduled takeoff of a big Air France Flight to Paris, this time 35 people waiting for the Shuttle Bus, same procedure, bus for 8, driver watching the people dealing with the luggage...Many people were looking for an alternative way like a Taxi to make it to the airport on time, otherwise they would have missed their flight. Unacceptable!!

The Office was not open at 9:00 h in the morning.
The Mobil number was not availible to reach.
The possibility, that car rental is possible near by to the Harbor is not decripte at the Internetside of Europcar Martinique.
The Young gay from Europcar Martinique was frienly and helpful, but he was 20 minutes to late.

Where to begin...... first of all, there was absolutely no indication that I would be required to make a €2000 deposit upon rental, even though I had paid upfront for the entire rental, and even though I had full insurance coverage . When I refused to do that, Europcar insisted on charging me €300 -- my prepaid rental amount for a BMW – – for an absolute piece of crap car (what's a Darcie???) with 60,000 km on it, a nasty, musty banged-up pile of junk. I would walk across broken glass barefoot than rent another car from these people.
