Disappointing that I was asked for ssn and drivers license number and other pertinent information that's not necessary for a quote.
No need to collect that information for a quote

Initial information gathering was fine, but followup was inconsistent and mostly relied on me to usher the process along.

It was an easy process. Got me the coverage I need for my family at a good premium price

This company denied me based off the last 4 of my SSN#? WTH!!! (Name, address too)
My credit score is 750 plus so what parameters do they consider? They couldn’t possibly check my health history because there wasn’t any prior consent verbally or electronically for them to do so. So again, what parameters are they using? I have enough time and money so I think small claims court would be an ideal option to get their attention. If it happened to me then it’s happening to others. I have nothing to lose at this point.

The entire Ethos process was disappointing to say the least. They can make all the claims they want about their company. However, upon actually talking to them, you begin to understand how new they are to the game. In fact, all the people I spoke with were answering their phones from a car or at phone.
The entire on-boarding and interview process was extremely tedious and long. It took over a month to come up with anything with just a few phone calls. In addition, follow-up was non-existent as I had to call myself for any information at all, which extended the process even further. I didn't feel they wanted to know the truth. Just whatever they wanted to spin on to fit their wants and needs.
It's a shame. With such great marketing and advertising on their part, I was quite hopeful. I think I'll stick with larger, more trusted life insurance companies. The fact that I even took the time to write this review, should make you think twice.

Life insurance made easy for millennials. Super easy, fast process. Loved the prompt response time and communication with my rep by text message. This made it so much easier for me.

Process took a while but was overall fine and I eventually got approved (around 2 months later). Had a couple of snags in the process that I had to call in and correct, but they did make sure it was taken care of efficiently.

Great experience, very communicative customer service. The process took a little longer than they originally estimated but they continuously updated me and it was still quicker than life insurance application processes I have been through in the past.

Agents are nice but lack knowledge (seemed inexperienced). My first policy canceled because they did not send the information over to the underwriting company. I tried to pay and it was impossible because thru didn't have my application from Ethos. I had to start over and tried to pay again so it wouldn't cancel and the underwriting comp refused payment again because of Ethos! Great policy but bad agent.

They were on top of everything. The only holdups were with the speed of response from my doctor. When the quote changed because of information from my doctor, they still returned the best price I got from 3 other companies.

I loved working with Ethos. They are professional, timely, honest, and quick to respond to my questions and concerns. I was really pleased with the service I received through working with them. Thanks for helping me get insured, Ethos!

I received my offer in a reasonable amount of time, but my wife's quote/policy is taking way too long. This is unacceptable.

I’m disappointed about the fee of $70 per year! It was never disclosed to me until after I was issued the policy!

In the end, I was satisfied to purchase a minimal policy to supplement an existing whole life pol (at another business,) but only because Ethos seemed to change course in midstream. I initially applied through app from social media push in Feb. In spite of great health (my last significant use of healthcare was 20 years ago and it was pregnancy related), Ethos req'd me to engage in at least 2 (maybe 3?) phone interviews for detailed questions. I expect such from any major life insur purchase, but it was dif't from what Ethos' intro materials implied. Worse, though, was that after not hearing back from Ethos for a couple of months after what I thought was the final interview, I started to inquire and then received postal mail that my applic was closed d/t no receipt of requested materials from my PCP (who told me they had indeed provided.) I phone Ethos for clarification and was told I could start the process over. By that time, about 5 months had passed since my initial app. I decided against stating over and decided to upgrade my policy at other business. A few weeks later, I started receiving texts, emails, and voicemails, almost daily at times, from Ethos saying I was approved but for dif't coverage level. Eventually I agreed to take one of the calls from Ethos, engaged in a scheduled convo to firm up, and as I said, purchased a minimally supplemental term policy because of its low price. It is far from what I had planned to purchase back when I applied in Feb -- and this final purchase occurred in October.
I'll say this -- the rep I spoke to in the end expressed appropriate levels of understanding abt my complaints, and did not try to sell me on a higher level of coverage. I appreciated that.

Everything about the insurance process was great and the customer service was fantastic. The only reason this is not 5 star is the misleading advertising where they talk about whole life almost never paying because it's too expensive so people cancel. That's nonsense and misleading. Not only that but their own policy is convertible to WL. I've been in life sales for 17 years and I can tell you the stats are that less than 2% of term policies ever pay. In that time I've seen 100's of claims and maybe 4 of them were term. WL may be more expensive now but the premiums never go up, it can be paid off early and one day someone is going to get either the death benefit or the cash guaranteed. Not so with term. They are both great products if used correctly. Sorry for the manifesto but that sort of bashing one product just because you don't sell it is very annoying.
