Wish I could say the same thing about this tour like most people on the comment section, but my experience was the exact opposite. From the moment I booked this tour, it was one heck of a rocky road. It's a shame I can't give them a 0 star, lol.
First off, I was the one who had to ask them to arrange the meeting time. Nobody contacted me. Considering that you can't provide your desired meeting time on the TripAdvisor page and they already have your contact info, this was absolutely inconsiderate. Let's not forget here that you're paying almost 85 USD per person which is a lot of money in Egpyt.
Also, whoever behind the number provided was not responsive at all; I wrote and called so many times but it would be answered the day after. I asked if meeting at 9 OR 10 is possible and the only answer I got was we'll meet you at 10. I replied 9 am would work better for us because of our flight time(we were supposed to fly the same night of the tour) and there was no answer. We decided to head down at 9 and wait for them till 10 since we didn't know when they were coming.
Our guide was, of course, 15 minutes late. No apologies, not even an introduction of himself. I even had to say hello first, and that was it. He acted as if he only needed to know my husband's name. I was pretty shocked but I thought maybe he already knew my name since the tour was BOOKED UNDER MY NAME or was going to introduce himself in the car since we were running late already. Alas, I couldn't have been more wrong!!
That was his attitude throughout the whole tour. I'm not kidding. The whole tour. At the museum, pyramids, shops(that he probably receives a commission from, I'll get back to this later), or you name it. He was facing and talking to my husband ONLY the whole time as if I didn't exist. I don't think he knew my name until much later that day. That is not a good feeling when you're the one who planned the trip and booked the tour. I should have paid for one person charge since I didn't learn anything. At the museum, I even decided to go ahead and walk around on my own since I couldn't hear him as there were so many people and he was ONLY facing my husband.
Finally... The shops. So after museum and before heading to the pyramids, he took us to this papyrus shop without even asking us. After the pyramids, he took us to a perfume shop also without our consent. When he was then trying to take us to an Egyptian cotton shop, we had to put this to a stop. The bazaar was the only place for shopping we wanted to check out that day and he tried to take us to THREE shops. We only had about 15 minutes at the bazaar because of all the time spent at those places. He was making excuses for himself like it was all traffic and we started at 10 am(hey, that's on you!) and all that jibberish. No, we didn't have enough time even at the museum and pyramids because you were rushing us around to take us to the shop.
If you're a woman and Asian and want to have that true second citizen experience in Egypt, go ahead and book this tour. Otherwise, book somewhere that's responsive and helpful. If you're staying at a nice hotel, book through their concierge. I really regret I didn't book through our hotel. I've seen those guides at the museum who had no problem with female guests and very informative and delightful, so there is hope.
Ps. Dear Mr. Sexist Tour Guide, I'm not Chinese but as an Asian, I know this one for sure: there is NO Chinese Christmas. There is only Chinese New Year. Stop flexing when you don't know what you're talking about. It has been my dream to visit Egypt and you ruined the most of it so thanks. Yours truly.
