Great software. Had an issue with customer service at one point, but it was resolved to my satisfaction and I greatly appreciated the effort they put in after the fact.
We do not need this service anymore, but we would likely use again if ever needed.

I have asked via email and phone call for my account to be cancelled. I was told by the customer service agent that he would cancel my account. 4 months later, I still get bills from them. I just send yet another email telling them to close my account. My next step is to file a complaint with the FCC. I want to give them zero stars but that is not an option on this site.

Really good experience with eFax, needed to send some faxes but now no longer needed. Customer service were very friendly and tried some discounts to keep me as a customer but unfortunately i declined as not needed.

I really give it no stars as they are horrible. This company lied about their policies on cancelling and have very bad service, capabilities and customer service. Stay away is my recommendation as there are many more honest companies around to provide. Just be careful as they lurk behind many names. Anything J2Global is bad would be my guess. They told me if I cancelled I could still use the service as I paid until a date and all the information would be retained...that was a lie. Do not trust this company on any level and certainly with your credit card. I have cancelled the associated card number and requested a new one for my protection. A very, very, bad company.

No way to cancel... contacted them by phone.
They gave me another number to call in order to cancel subscription but none ever answered...

I wish I could give this "company" negative stars!!! I also wish I'd been smart enough to look at these reviews before I signed up with them. For starters, their "service" DOES NOT WORK. No matter how many pages you are supposed to receive, you only get ONE, and it's unreadable. Completely WORTHLESS.
On top of that, it's damn near impossible to cancel. Try calling "customer service" - you will be put on hold FOREVER. Any person you wind up talking to has the thickest accent ever, if you know what I mean. No one answers emails. To say this company is fraudulent is the understatement of the century.
I am disputing the charge through my bank, and I cancelled my current card and am getting a new one. No way is this going to happen again!
STAY AWAY from these rip-off artists!!! Unbelievably immoral, evil, and wrong!

They acknowledged receipt of my intent to cancel, but refused to honor it and process a refund. They insisted that I call. I try to call and finally hung up after I had to wait over 45 minutes. Rude customer service. Chat kept transferring me. Phone agent (finally waited to get thru) hung up on me. Even after all of this they refuse to refund.

No way to cancel online, emails get ignored and they keep charging my credit card. eFax is really really annoying and cheeky. I wanted to cancel my account but there is no option in the member area so I wrote several emails, which all got ignored. Apparently they want to make you call their customer service department which is illegal in Europe. Stay away from those scammers!

TOTAL RIP OFF - service doesn't work - long wait time on their customer service line - then they blamed the receiving end for the transmission not working - then I e-mailed to cancel my free trial and got a response days later that "cancellations can only be processed by calling in" so I just called in (am calling my credit card company now to refuse charges from them) and after letting them know all my concerns, the heavily accented service rep had the nerve to try to sell me their eVoice product - SERIOUSLY??? DO NOT USE E-FAX!!!

eFax is a company that will charge you for services you're not using including charging fees that are not covered in their terms and conditions. We recently obtained an unauthorized charge of $99.99 from them seemingly out of nowhere despite not even using the service we were paying for for that month. We use it once every three months and in a month where nothing was faxed, they charged us another $99.99. We are disputing the charge with AMEX and cancelling the service.
Their support defended the charge, but couldn't tell us what it was for. I would personally recommend you stay away from this scam company.

Do not deal with company.
Won't stop charging your credit card even after you email them to stop your subscription.
They'll reply an email to you to tell you to call a number which is always on hold.
With good subscription companies, you can simply cancel it usaually through an online dashboard with one click
The bad ones make it very difficult, this company is the worst one.
Read other review online who got on the phone with their support,
"When you go to cancel, the customer support also play a ton of word games. In my case,
it got so ridiculous that they claimed they didn't understand such basic statements as "cancel my account immediately!" and "Cancel my account today!".
Like others, I eventually had to get my bank to block E-Fax from making any charges against my card."
I'm now filing chargeback for the these payments.

E-Fax ( aka EFax ) are THIEVES!!!
The refuse to recognize when you cancel and keep charging you.
In my case, when I got to the supervisor, Chris, I was told that "It's against our policy to get refunds" (even when charged for a cancelled service). When I stated I would take it up with my bank, Chris threatened to place negative commentary on my credit report.
Even after a fair amount of annoyance, I was only able to get a verbal confirmation that my account was cancelled. I viewed that as worthless since the previous verbal cancellations were meaningless.
When you go to cancel, the customer support also play a ton of word games. In my case, it got so ridiculous that they claimed they didn't understand such basic statements as "cancel my account immediately!" and "Cancel my account today!".
Like others, I eventually had to get my bank to block E-Fax from making any charges against my card.
This is in addition to the fact that when I did use the FAX service, it was pretty poor and took multiple attempts to send even the most basic FAX or get a receipt.
E-Fax is a company of thieves. Avoid them however you can and never let them have any of your financial or personal data!

I used faxonline.com for years with NO issues. They were purchased by EFAx so my account was transferred. I rarely use it, but would like it to work when I do. I tired to send a fax this AM and could not. After 30 mins online with their support I asked a DUMB QUESTION...Are you compatible with MAC'S and to my surprise was told NO WE ARE NOT. WHAT service is not compatible with MAC'S in today's world???? Unbelievable...they are as outdated as faxes themselves!!!!

eFax purchase my old provider of e-faxing Fax87 and proceeded to charge me much higher annual rate without any notification before or after the transaction. When I saw the charge on my credit card a week later, and called to cancel, they would only cancel the service, without refunding any money.
Review by Gamehouse Chalberg2 years ago
charged 96.95 for one month of faxing less than 150 pages. Their posted rate structure allows 150 free faxes for 16.95 per month but in the fine print of their customer agreement page is an alternate pricing structure based on time that their machines work to fax the documents. Total scam by an unethical business, you are at their mercy for the charges they create and take from your account.

Years back I had Maxemail for fax service. eFax purchased Maxemail and I could no longer send or receive faxes that was June of 2016. Last Saturday Feb 10, 2018 eFax took money out of my account Maxemail had on file. I called eFax customer service and it was a complete scam. They told me they would cancel my account, but would not refund the money, even though I never authorized eFax to take funds nor did I ever use their service. The customer service rep said it is like television service, just because you don't turn your TV on doesn't mean you don't have to pay for television service. I tried to explain I didn't order eFax service, but he didn't care. He told me I would need to call corporate for a refund, but wouldn't give me their phone number. eFax is a complete scam and should be investigated for fraud.

I needed to fax some papers and went on eFax so I could fax from my computer. I download and try to fax, but nothing would go through.
I called and spoke with Egan. He gave me instructions to fax a different way. I tried and still no luck. I told him I wanted to cancel and not to bill me. Of course my next statement had the charge of 16.95. I called and they said my account was still active and the had a no refund policy. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The "supervisor" told me that there was no way they could refund my account. I asked for his name and he said it was AL W.
I asked him to close out my account. Let's see if I'm charged next month! Very unprofessional customer UNcustomer friendly company.

You can try to cancel after the service does not work but they will continue to bill you. Any company that is completely non-refundable or will not pro-rate a monthly fee for services not used are scam artists.

Don't use this unless you want surprise charges on your credit card. They will charge you by the length of time it is to process the fax even though in the trial they market it as free 150 pages. The faxes I sent were incredibly slow and a week later I received multiple $10 fees charged on my credit card which was something I didnt approve, nor was I notified at the time of the transaction or via email. When speaking to the company, they wouldn't reverse the charges, but my bank has. Dont use this!!!

Over 20 years ago, I signed up for MAXEMAIL which was $24 for the year. I barely used it but it was good backup for the price. My yearly contract was set to expire on May 1, 2017. Out of nowhere on FEbrurary 9, 2017 I receive and email from EFAX.COM advising me that they STOLE $84 from my account wihtout my permission, consent or knowledge. I googled to see who they were and discoved they took over MAXEMAIL. I NEVER agreed to thier company, never agreed to their servie nor was ever informed of any takeover but certainly would not spend $84 for a service I barely use.. 4 x what I paid with MAXEMAIL. On FEbruary 10, 2017 I called and demanded cancellation and immediate refund. Was given REFRENCE NUMBER.. then recieved email notifing of cancellation but NOTHING ABOUT REFUND.. I replying.. email said "we'll look into it" EXCUSE ME YOU THEIVES... Now I have demaned a FEDEX CHECK since they stole money and I am not waiting on "thier review" I have contacted NYS ATtorney General and well as the California attorney general. Am leaving reveiws with Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs and all social media....quite obviously I am not the only person they STOLE MONEY FROM.....MISERABLE CORPORATE THEIVES

I wish if I could file a case against them.

This company will not CANCEL your service and continues to charge your credit card each year. Worst service ever and most expensive efax system. Do not use this service. Look at their reviews and most say the same thing, they continue to charge your credit card even after cancelled.

I decided to cancel, but there is no information in the site on canceling once you log in. No cancel button or anything. After searching around I found this site (https://www.efax.com/efax-help-center/billing) which lets you chat with someone to cancel, or you can call. When I first chatted it was directed to a sales person (even though I selected service), so they transferred me to service, but I ended up in queue for the ~7min until they closed. It didn't tell me it closed, I just knew from opening another chat, where it also directed me to the salesperson. The next day, I chatted again and got to a service person, who was slow and gave two separate upsell offers. By the time I rejected these and finally canceled the whole process took near 30 minutes.
Making it difficult to cancel a website is anticompetitive and scammy, and efax definitely meets that bar to get an automatic 1 star in my book.
