I have had eCW for 4+ years now. I keep thinking it will get better...but it's just getting worse. Every time I try to get technical support, I end up being told "that is a known glitch; we will let you know when that has been resolved". It never gets resolved...so disappointing that I'm looking into other options already it is so expensive and so much trouble:(

Not much better than other software, yet it is the most expensive on the market !
They try to lead you to think that it is for a certain price, and before you know it, they have added 10 other hidden costs that they did not tell you about. Postage, statements , eFax, airplane ticked for trainer...PATHETIC !!!,
I did not sign up because there was no transparency in dealing with them, I felt I am about to be cheated with every sentence and line in their contract.
Also, they have no program for startups, they think we make millions, I strongly believe they will be losing a lot of customers due to their price and attitude.

I used EMRs from the eclinical works. They provide good service and the way of responding to the client is entirely different.

My office manager convinced me that we would be better off with eCW over Athena. That we would save money on the back end with billing as the billing could use it well. Well now we are having patients walk out due to wait times and my charting time increased by 8x. system is a total waste of time and not worth it.

Do NOT use this software. There is no customer support-the "tech" support doesn't actually know how to USE the software, so they must "replicate" the error-over and over and over and over with ABSOLUTELY no result.
They offer "work arounds" for the plethora of inconsistencies and failures with this software-but after a while, you will give up on the "support" as there is none offered.

I've had several EMR in my career. This one has to be the worse. It started from the horrible person they sent to train my staff at my expense. To the poor service. I had problems with EMR and would place tickets talk to people who could not trouble shoot. They were sued by DOJ and did not tell us that I could have gotten out of the contract without the $5000 penalty . I happen to find out by accident when I became so fed up with the faxing system which doesn't work most of the time. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. They desire ZERO stars

My company used eCW from 2005 until 2013 when we switched EMRs. I was attracted to eCW because it was one of the first affordable Windows based EMRs that integrated schedule, EMR, and billing functions in one platform.
The review by Mike C. summed up many of our experiences, in particular that eCW was compartmentalized - like the referral function wasn't really connected to the schedule or EMR. It was very buggy and we had constant slowness and freezing of the application. The product was sold as a fully integrated application, but it felt like a patchwork of individually developed ones that didn't always connect to the database in the same or interact with each other fully. Support didn't do a good job of documenting our problems, so we needed to run through the litany of issues every time we called, as if it were the first time we'd reported the problems. We had the server on site.
The constellation of eCW abilities is impressive. However, it seems from the comments that this company continues its practice of over promising and under performing.

eClinicaldoesn'twork, as wel called it, is very likely the worst product I have ever purchased. In this day and age of electronic devices and software that utilizes artificial intelligence, eCW or eCDW as we say just shows what a dinosaur it is. Compartmentalized, buggy, slow and crash prone, you have to click like crazy to get anything done, each time you click or change screen subjecting you to a crash. Not to sound one sided but I would say every freature, and that is a mixture of FREAK and feature, that is how bad this software is, is prone to fail. I am not kidding, whether it's the portals, interfaces, ordering system, labs, DI, whatever it is, almost every day it feels like we have to work around some feature of the software that just doesn't work.
Thankfully we had a server. For the first few months we did their online but were advised by multiple other victims of this software that the server is faster; it is. With their online cloud software any interference between your office and the eClincialdoesn'twork server will subject you to spectacular crashes and delays which is what happened to us. Don't get me wrong, this still happens using our own server but at least the problems are those inherent to this piece of junk, 1980's software 25 years past when it should have been low level formatted out of existence and not cloud based.
Their sales job is excellent, they over-promise but after that it's nothing but under-delivering. Pretty much every element of the software is awful. It's easy to learn because everything is clearly labeled and intuitive, it's just that the archaic interface and operation is very clunky so I would pretty much rate every element involved as tied for dead last. I am not sure I like anything about it so I will just say I hate it all the same as it's much easier to say that.
Furthermore, I will add that using eClinicalworks is downright dangerous to patient care. If a Doctor or other healthcare provider worked this badly they would have long since been sued, disbarred, lost their license, gone to jail and suffered catatstrophic legal consequences. Unfortunately eClinicaldoesn'twork, despite their minimal settlement from the DOJ last year, is still let loose upon the healthcare system and unfortunate unsuspecting American public. The only shockers there are not just how the DOJ did not close them down and slam them in jail like they deserve, but that it took them that long to apply such a minor slap on the wrist. There is no justice in this world.
I think the only thing eCW does well, other than its sales pitch of course, is confirm every negative stereotype of South Asians and Indians. That they do well, because when you call them no one speaks real English and the few mumbled accented words they provide are useless. They validate everything you say, agree slavishly without actually saying or doing anything useful. You have to spend hours waiting for them, talking to them as they uselessly click around all while you have to see patients that you wind up giving up and just dealing with the awful way it works, or as we have said since we "went dead" (not live) in the Spring of 2007, doesn't work, or eClincialdoesn'twork.
The sad part is that no other software that we have tried is much better. In the kingdom of the blind, those who are good liars and act to pretend having eyes that work are king because no one is there to prove that they are not. The truth is though, eClinicaldoesn'twork. Some day I hope they get theirs, until then, we are one click from an important eprescription not arriving, one click from a note disappearing, one click from important data not appearing, one click from disaster and a patient getting hurt. No thanks to eClinicalworks, I feel like the "thin blue line" and all the patients have from getting hurt because of this crappy software is me.

eClinicalWorks site is dreadfully slow. I have no issues with 20 other sites at the same time but this site is pathetic. I would rather sit with a clip board at the Dr office and then jam a pencil in my eye, than deal with this crappy web site.

Reading through posts, it is quite easy to notice what posts they wrote themselves - those are the positive ones. I heard good things about ECW, so I was excited when I found out that my new practice uses it. Little did I know! My primary issue is how terrible the "support" is: I mean, I just don't even bother talking to them anymore. They make you put the ticket through their web site, so Indian people can call you back. Those always ask you to get on your computer, so you can show them what the problem is. Except they don't get it. They waste about 1.5 hours of your time just to figure out what the question is. You just sit there and watch them click on things you already tried. Then they will keep calling you 80 times a day as you are seeing patients so you can again drop everything and watch them use your computer. 1-1.5 weeks later the issue may or may not be fixed but it no longer matters: you just want them to stop calling you with stupid questions instead of solutions.

If you are still using a local server, switch to the cloud or stop complaining. The reviews from IT guys issuing local servers are misleading because they should be advising you to use the cloud and toss the server.
I cannot emphasize how good the Billing software is and how much time is saved by using HEALOW SELF SCHEDULING SYSTEM. Patients no longer need to call to make appointments. They do it themselves directly into your Scheduler. Also the kiosk is simply the best one out there for all that it does to retain your cash flow and reduce staffing requirements.
The customer service portal is top notch. You will get answer For even the most mundane questions within 24 hours. They tech support speaks English and are knowledgeable. True emergencies (rare) are handled within minutes.
The negative reworks on Thai site are from IT people who ARE NOT NEEDED IF YOU USE THE CLOUD VERSION (save yourself some cash by not budgeting for local server needs) or are generic negative reviews probably from competitors.

I do medical I.T, Hardware Support for several medical offices. We support hardware for a variety of EMR software vendors. We had a server crash and the support personnel went through the new server and gave me BS about they do not support AMD processor based servers, only Intel servers they will support. They then proceed to show me their specs of a single Xenon processor at 1.6 GHZ and a16 GB ram with 2 hard drives. Take into consideration this new server has 2 Sixteen Core Processors at 3.0Ghz. (This is 32 Cores of Processing Power) 32 GB ram and 2 solid State hard drives for the OS and 4 1TB hard drives for the data. I am like are you people full of BS or what. Their old server starts up in about 2 minutes. The new one starts up in 35 seconds. Software does not have the ability to know what the brand of hardware. The Operating System knows but any software does not.
Call their tech support is a joke. You leave multiple voice mails. You send emails and they are ok to respond. The language barrier is not too bad with a female support tech. The males are always edgy and thick Indian accented and arrogant.
I would not recommend this EMR to anyone. MD Suite and Practice Fusion are better and the support is much better. The sad side of this they are charging the Medical Practice a $750/hr to do a migration of data from the old server to the new one.
Not to mention you have to have an entirely separate server for the Fax Server. Total BS. Any server can and should be able to run the Fax Server from the same server.
I will give you an example of how terrible and incompetent their support is. I get a call and the C: Drive is full. They have no way to clean out the C: Drive to free up space. I get there and delete 26.9 GB of temp files and the C: Drive works again.
So if you are considering this as your EMR. Don't! They really need to get their act together.

We have ECW and we went to a cloud system and since that time we have had frequent crashes with poor response time. Imagine seeing a patient and having limited ability to record history, record exam, order tests, and review tests.
They seem to be unable to resolve the problems I bring to them. Right now I have time to write this since I am in the middle of a crash.

Average EMR, If you invest time into it it may work. What makes it 1 star is people who work there. Lack of support, company representatives unable to understand very basic requests and do not do anything, do not answer for weeks. We spent countless hours trying to solve simple questions, cancel services we are not using because we closed our practice 6 months ago. They bill for the service we do not use. Send you a bill and reminders to pay regularly. Reminds you a used car dealer who rips off customers on any occasion. Unfortunately we can not stop doing business with them, still need to keep it for AR and medical records.
Stay away, otherwise you can become a hostage of this deceptive company

Where to begin.....the support is atrocious. No one speaks English and you will get 5 different answers for the same question. It takes 10 clicks to do a task that should only take 3 clicks. The graphic user interface looks terrible. I could go on for days. Please don't do it, please! For your patients sake and you're own sanity!

Purchased a practice 1/30/2017 that was using e-clinical works EMR. Have been trying to get this company to release the EMR since this time . Have paid 2000 and still no disc as of 7/4/17! Try calling or emailing this company and you will get no response. I sent over 40 emails and spent much time on the telephone waiting for conference calls which never took place. The employees are mostly in India and could care less about your problem. So I now have paid for a practice and can't get any patient information. Now I found out that because of a DOJ lawsuit e-clinical works must transfer the EMR to another company free of charge. Good luck getting this done! I can't believe a company of this size has such terrible customer service. I have given up at this point.
