The Chinese classes are going super well. So far I've been enjoying each one of them. The teachers are lovely and I learn something new from each one of them! And what surprised me is that their teachers are really professional and they teach very well. I think my choice is right.

I bought it again after the first time, definitely it is great lesson. In my case, I am not a beginner, but always look for better ways for learning.

I had been looking for a job in the architecture field in China, as their growth is booming and an architect has so many possibilities. I decided that, to communicate with my future Chinese co-workers, I wanted to at least have basic to intermediate Mandarin skills before arriving in China.
One-on-one lessons with a tutor in London were much more expensive than I was expecting + the commute and setting up meeting times that worked for both of us.
I took a few free trials and went with eChineseLearning, as I liked the natural, face-to-face feeling of their lessons.
I eventually passed a job interview (my basic Chinese seemed to charm the managers) and I'll be moving to Beijing in a few weeks. I'm happy to say I'll be able to continue my lessons online in China while practicing on the street.

I was offered one free introductory lesson. However I was first obliged to supply my credit card information. And my advance full course payment of AU$2,382.24 [11,480 RMB] was processed immediately, with my request for a full refund being refused on at least three occasions. eChineselearning is an unethical online trader dealing in lies and deception and deserves to be black-listed.

I engaged with eChineseLearning for lessons and found that the teachers are all young graduates with little teaching experience, they don't arrange for lesson plans and there is huge variation in their abilities. About 25% of my lessons were a waste of time. Also note they will record everything including your lessons which they will not tell you about and are completely inflexible. For the money there are much better language providers - suggest you look around for the one that suits you best.

We signed up under certain policies. They changed them. We want a refund but they won't give any. They change on a whim and don't pay back. It's a scam.

I have had a good experience with eChineseLearning. I needed to prepare for the IB Chinese B SL exam, which is roughly equal to the HSK 5. I had only taken two years of Chinese in high school before that, so I was having a really hard time keeping up with the other students in my class, who were mostly Chinese themselves. My mom suggested I try online classes, and signed me up to do lessons three times a week. Having someone explain everything to me one-on-one really helped. I ended up getting a 6 on the exam - which is pretty good considering I didn't think I would even pass at all for a while. So I would definitely say it was worth it.

I had a great experience with eChineseLearning.com! I got a job teaching English in China, but when I arrived, I didn't speak any Chinese. Everything was difficult - I couldn't order food, sign up for a bank account or phone plan, or do anything on my own. I didn't want to be a burden to my Chinese friends any longer, so I decided to start learning Mandarin twice a week with eChineseLearning. I've only been taking classes for three months, but already I can buy food, have simple conversations with my neighbors, and talk with my students in Mandarin! I am still definitely not fluent and will have to put in a lot more hours of class and practice before I am, but I feel way more like a functioning adult than I did before. It feels like I got my independence back! Thanks a lot to my amazing teachers Jennifer Laoshi and Becky laoshi <3

I decided to take a Chinese for Business class a year ago before I went to China for work. At that time, I knew nothing about Chinese, so I worried about how I could adapt to a completely new working environment. I asked for some advice from my friends who had worked in China and they recommended me eChineseLearning. I liked their platform, which meant I could take classes anywhere, at any time. So I went to their website and signed up for a free trial. I was impressed by the teacher's professional teaching style, even in the online classes! So I booked 6 months of classes. Now I am familiar with the customs, traditions essential to Chinese business etiquette, and can speak Chinese confidently. Instead of being nervous about my move to China, I'm excited to put my new skills to the test!

Because my mom is Chinese, I can speak a little bit of Chinese. I also love Chinese culture, so I decided to go to China for university. But to apply, I had to pass the HSK test. Unfortunately, my Chinese was only good enough for daily conversation, so I needed professional practice and guidance.
I was still in high school, so going to a language school wasn't an option for me. So online classes were the best choice for me. I researched a lot of websites and even did some trial lessons on several different platforms. But in the end, I chose eChineseLearning because of their unique learning system and professional teachers. Basically, you can have two or more teachers at a time to help you study and give you feedback on time. One of them takes charge of teaching, and other will help students with their homework. I'm definitely a procrastinator by nature, so this was really helpful to me.

I took a speaking class because I want to be able to make Chinese friends and talk to locals during a trip China. I ran across eChineseLearning on YouTube, and have learned a lot from their videos!
When I finally booked a class, I was so frustrated because the tones were just going right over my head. Thank God my teacher was patient - she corrected me again and again and showed me the right way to say them, even when I kept making mistakes and saying them wrong over and over. To be honest, these tones just about drove me over the edge! But after practicing about a million times and getting feedback from my teacher, I can finally say all the tones - ā á ǎ à - perfectly!
Chinese tones are pretty interesting - and very, very different from English. But these days, being able to speak Chinese is considered "cool"! I think I made the right decision - first, to learn Chinese in the first place, and second, to learn it with eChineseLearning.

China has about 5000 years history, which means its culture and traditions are really complicated. I wanted to know more about Chinese history and culture, so I signed up for some Chinese culture classes with eChineseLearning. The teacher is patient and professional, which is essential for beginners, because we may ask some questions that sound "stupid" to natives.
The teacher is also able to explain some complex terminology used in Chinese culture by listing simple examples. She also gives me great recommendations for books about Chinese culture and history. I love this class because it has helped me realize how different Western countries and China really are! In the 21st century, it's definitely worth it to learn about this culture that has existed for so long! My lessons with eChineseLearning will help me do just that.

I want to be eligible to go to universities in China so I have to pass the HSK test. I didn't expect to pass it so quickly but with help of my teachers at eChineseLearning, I made it! I was so excited and wanted to extend my biggest thanks to eChineseLearning and all of my Chinese teachers.
I have a main teacher and 2 secondary teachers that cooperate to improve my Chinese learning. They gave me feedback quickly whenever I have questions and they also encouraged me often, which made me confident and believe in myself. The support team helped not only during the class but also with my homework. The homework is not very difficult but it would take time to contemplate the answer. And they will keep an eye on my learning process to ensure that I practice Chinese every day.
So don't be afraid of Chinese. It isn't as difficult as we think. What we need to do is practice in a sensible way.

I came to China for working half a year ago. At that time, I could speak some simple Chinese sentences and it made me feel confident that I could live in China. However, after entering the workplace, problems arose since couldn't communicate with clients during business meetings, which made me feel down. Then I found eChineseLearning on YouTube and it helped me a lot.
Lustiness communication in China is totally different from my country so only knowing conversational Chinese is not enough. My teacher introduced me to lots of terminology used in a Chinese business environment as well as customs in Chinese business culture, which helped me adapt to my new working environment.
I plan to continue taking classes about Chinese culture in the future with eChineseLearning.

Who can imagine that while 6 months ago Chinese characters were like an abstract painting to me but now I can write about 100 characters! Thanks to eChineseLearning's teaching I feel confident about writing Chinese characters now.
Writing has always been a big problem for me because, in my eyes, there are no rules for writng Chinese characters. And it's hard for me to connect the pronunciation with the shape of them too. My friend Jenny, who also loves Chinese culture and has been learning it for 3 years recommended that I try a class with eChineseLearning. The teacher is patient, professional as well as humorous and she tells me the meaning of characters to help me understand and remember them. I love the Chinese mnemonics.
To be honest, a good teacher always makes a good student. I am proud of myself. And I really feel grateful to eChineseLearning.

Learning at eChineseLearning is one of the best things that I have done in recent years.
I was transferred to Shanghai two years ago by my company. I completely freaked out at that time. I asked myself "How could I live in a city where there is no English?"
I figured that I'd take some Mandarin lessons prior to arriving in Shanghai. I also wanted to quickly improve my business Mandarin, and my Chinese speaking ability.
Fortunately, ECL fit all of my needs !
I am now living in Shanghai and speak Mandarin fluently. I really appreciate it!

When I first started taking lessons with eChineseLearning, I advised the tutor that my profession requires me to learn industry-specific words. I was very delighted that the tutor created a lesson plan that was specifically for me. I am now much more further in my career thanks to eChineseLearning!

When I started studying with eChineseLearning, I was nervous that I would not be able to keep up with the way that the pronunciation and lessons work. After taking just 1 lesson, and observing how patient and friendly the tutor was, I was able to easily grasp the material. My experience was amazingly good, especially given that the tutor was willing to wait for me to understand the material, and also because the tutor was willing to be very patient with me when practicing the pronunciation.

I happened to see eChineseLearning's YouTube videos, and decided to study with them.
I thought It would be hard for me to learn anything online until I signed up for a one-year plan last year.
Sometimes I can't get enough personal speaking time with the teachers during the Chinese lessons at offline schools. But I can get immediate feedback in the online classroom, and find out my mistakes in speaking and writing. My teacher is so kind, as she always gives me clear guidance and advice.
I will continue taking lessons on the site in the future, and recommend them to my friends:)

I live in a busy city where rush hour is no joke so the fact that I can go home after a long day of work and not have to leave again if I can help it works out perfectly for me.
I like all of the tutors I have had so far. The lesson plans have been built around what I want to focus on and advance at my own pace. They do challenge me but I never feel left behind. I always finish a lesson with a good grasp of the material.
I feel like I have advanced so much quicker than when I studied in Beijing in a classroom setting. It's just one to one instruction so it's much more productive.
The best aspect is that since I'm a bit of a night owl their time zone office hours work perfectly for me. If you are an early bird it would work equally as well.
I think I'll continue with them well after my subscription has ended. There are so many categories to learn. Even though I don't need business Chinese for my current job I am planning on making a career transition and it will come in handy.
They definitely have my stamp of approval.

Theresa is a really nice teacher. She taught my son how to speak Mandarin. I tried to teach my son how to speak and write Chinese. But I just found it was a disaster. Even though I can speak Chinese.
I found eChineselearning on google. They offer online Chinese lessons for kids. My son tried one lesson and he told me that he likes teacher Theresa. She is very nice and patient. I often find my son laughing in class. The most important thing is my son can speak some basic Chinese words after a few lessons. I really appreciate Theresa so patient with him and working so hard to boost his speaking.

I saw echineselearning 6 months ago and signed up for a one year plan, 5 days a week as it seemed convenient and I wanted to break through a plateau.
Boy was I wrong. It is not convenient at all.
1. The classes are unplanned (which may be ok but for 147RMB (20USD) per class you'd expect a little more.)
2. 5 classes a week is OK, but each class generally starts off with 10 to 15 minutes of connection issues which are highly frustrating and make you want to stop redialling skype and stop wasting your time. If you do give up then you lose your money.
3. 5 days a week for one year does not mean 260 classes, it means 5 days a week. If you miss one, you lose money. Do not go with the higher frequency plan as you will inevitably lose money eventually when you have only time for 4 class.
4. Yes inevitably. Some weeks you won't even have the opportunity to book 5 classes. Literally, there will be no space available for you to book and you'll lose your money automatically.
5. If you miss a class you booked (even if you warn them) the inflexible echinese learning system gives you a student score...and missing two classes means that any future classes you take need to be manually confirmed by email 24 hours in advance. So...that's a ball ache waste of time. If you forget, it will be autocancelled and you loose that class (and your money.) I had to contact them several times to lift this stupid rule, each time they assured me it had been done, then the next day I'd have a class auto-canceled.
6. Why is the system making you (the customer who just wants to pay for the opportunity to practice their hobby) feel you're in some sort of high-performance sales team with this dumb scoring system? Way to take the fun out of a hobby, and also punishing the customer and those punishments have a snowball effect with the autocancels and therefore lowering your score further, pretty ridiculous.
7 Ugly UI on the website.
8. You will not be able to get any kind of refund after one month, so I recommend having a trial, but bear in mind that you will surely get some technical difficulties but they might not pop up until a couple of months later. Any problems that occur later will not be fixed and they won't care, in particular with the technical issues.
9. The classes are convenient, but they are actually quite tiresome over a long period of time. Not recommended for one year. I recommend finding a face to face teacher, despite the inconvenience, in the long term its a better, more social, personable experience with a more natural conversation.
10. It is not cheaper than a face to face teacher. In fact, I got a 'special deal' which was the same price as my face to face teacher but I rationalized it with the time saved not having to travel to a teacher.
This whole company somehow makes the customer-company relationship feel very much like a competition where they do everything they can to Win the relationship and make you Lose, instead of both parties being happy with the arrangement.
Carmen doesn't help, and Jolina is extremely pushy to raise your plan and upsell you which is irritating and as stated above, it's not worth it. It's a Chinese company ultimately and they do business much more aggressively, preferring to win at all costs and not worrying about building customer relations.
Go with Chinesepod instead, Italki, a face to face teacher or find a Skype language exchange partner for free. There are many sites, just do a google search, I think I used something called themixxer a long time ago.
If you must go with skype classes, do not pick these guys. They're a headache. You might sort of get what you want, but there are better options for the same price. Absolute garbage for 5383USD.

I live in the United States since my adulthood. My son was born in the US, and his Chinese is...is not good. But he needs to communicate with some of our relatives in China. Each year, our family would go to China during the holidays. I hope my son can talk with Chinese friends or relatives fluently.
Before my son started kindergarten, I taught him some simple daily Chinese at home. I found it didn't work because I'm not a professional teacher. I am very thankful to ECL Chinese School. The Chinese teacher Belle helped my son speak fluent Chinese. I know that Belle has expended much time and thought on my son's study. She is very kind and patient, and she always makes her course interesting. Thank you, Belle.

My family is from Malaysia and we are currently living in Canada. It has been difficult to have family members teach our children Mandarin Chinese, mostly because we don't speak perfect Mandarin and the kids want to discuss other things or play, rather than get to work.
eChineseLearning has a special program for kids from families from Chinese heritage families. We did a free trial for both kids with them and then decided to sign up for the lessons due to convenience.
So far, so good! It's convenient and the kids stay focused on the friendly teachers and lessons. Much better than trying to teach them ourselves!
