I adopted a puppy from East Dallas Pet Rescue and did not have a good experience to say the least. The puppy had a cough when we visited her in her foster home. When we asked about it they said it was nothing and so they gave us her medical records that said she was healthy and we adopted her. Just days after adopting her and taking her home she continued to have a cough and diarrhea. She then began to act very different and slept all day. We could tell she did not feel well so days after brining her home we took her into an animal hospital. The vet told me she had a serious infection and parasite. After paying the adoption fee for a "healthy dog" I did not receive any money back or a partial discount on the adoption fee even after telling them she was in very poor health and I had spent more than the adoption fee on medical expenses alone. Then it came time to get her spayed. We were told they would contact us about spaying her when the time came but we had to reach out to them. After they gave us the their vet's phone number we called and made an appt. but because they had not reached out sooner we have to wait a month before they can even see her.

They adopted pups to me with the Parvo virus. One died in less than a week. The Parvo virus has a gestation of 7-14 days, so the vet said they had it before we adopted them, which means they have it at the foster homes. They couldn't care less and refuse to refund my money. I've accumulated about $1200 in vet bills to save the other pup, which they also couldn't care less about. I also now have the Parvo virus at my house for the next 6-8 months thanks to these cold hearted people. They are deceptive and all about the money. We lost the sister pup and are heartbroken, they are cruel people who don't deserve to 'rescue' pets.

I would like to share my experience and how much it has changed my life. My son in December before graduation was hit and killed by a drunk driver. My husband in March was diagnosed with heart failure and given a year to live. I had a Yorkie of 12 years named Tiny. I had him since he was 4 weeks old. He suddenly passed away one day in May. I was having a very hard time coping with everything. I searched and looked everywhere on the Internet for a small dog. It seemed nothing caught my eye. I saw a dog named Brownie. He caught my eye. I knew immediately that not even reading about him that he was mine.
His foster mom responded to my interest email very quickly and answered all the questions I had. When I got to the adoption event they allowed me plenty of time to get to know my dog and I never felt rushed or pressured into adopting. They asked me questions to make sure we were a good fit for each other and did a home visit that evening. They even helped me shop for him by providing me a detailed list of things I would need and advice. Everyone working the event got so excited that he had a potential home that evening waiting on him. A few weeks after I adopted him, I emailed the organization to ask a question about food and they answered it right away. Jaclyn and Chelsea even called the following week to check in and make sure he was adjusting well.
Now, I volunteer with the organization to help other pups find their forever homes. I'm on my second foster and couldn't say enough positive things. It has filled a void for me and brought much needed joy watching them go to amazing homes. They have amazing dogs and are fabulous people that go above and beyond.
I have had a very positive experience with East Dallas Pet Rescue and would definitely consider adopting another dog from them. My dog has turned out to be a amazing dog through these hard times.
