Even with a paid service, they do not have live customer service, just bot replies. They disabled my account for no reason. I sup tin 6 service tickets and not replay for 12 days. The auto-reply said to use "Dropbox Community" to get help from one of their dropbox ambassadors. You can use the Community form unless you log in. So I have to create another account under another email and pay $120. On the community form, when I ask for help, explained what had happened, that I count no log on and have to pay again to try to get some help, the and then blocked me from community support for no reason except that they did not like the face I said something about paying twice. Do not use this service if your files are important. Luckily, I have my file on my computer hard drive or would have lost all my personal and business files. I have been paying for dropbox for 10 years and they have really gotten bad. Again, AVOID if you value your time and file!

This software is great for file sharing and user permissions, but there is a complete lack of overall customer service.

I canceled my DropBox account and was told no further charges would take place. I have proof, both emails and chat transcripts. They even told me if I was charged, I would be refunded.
Multiple charges from DropBox showed up after canceling.
I contacted DropBox and they said they couldn't see any charges and told me to contact Google.
Google told me they see the charges and to contact DropBox for a refund.
It's a never-ending circle. They keep blaming each other.
DropBox support is awful. They ask a ton of questions and then pass me off to someone else who will ask the same questions and the cycle just repeats itself. It's insanely frustrating.
DropBox would rather blame Google, who processed the payment, instead of refunding me. How are the employees working there looking at this situation and thinking, "He canceled his service and was charged over and over afterwards, lets no refund anything, yep that seems right to me!"

I naively ordered Pro for a year, little did I know they kept my credit card info and recharged me for a second year. When I noticed the charge and I complained to them, they basically said it sucks to be you... Stay away from these scam artists. It costs them nothing to cancel the second year and credit your account.

False advertising scum! They do not support Linux and they extort you to their paid product. I wasted no little amount of time trying to help them get their Linux version working only to have them tell me that they are not going to bother fixing it. These people are the scum of the Earth. Don't start with them and you won't be stuck with them.

Dropbox makes it almost impossible to retrieve your uploaded files, especially if they are large. It is as if they are deliberately holding your data hostage, so you don't drop them. That seems to be their business model.
They don't tell you the size of your all your folders (only each on individually, one at a time)nso it is practically impossible to organize your folders by size to see which can be removed from the cloud.
You cannot even do something as simple and basic as print out a list of the folders and files you have uploaded.
When you unsync a file that is only online it does not download the data again back to your computer. Only the list of folders and files becomes visible in your computer, but the data still stays online.
They put unrealistically small limits on how much you can download, even with a paid plan.
Their whole approach is unintuitive and confusing.

I`m still not sure if its safe to store something in ANY of the cloud services, but this one seems ok to me. Atleast I didnt find anything wrong using it for 2 years. Not a premium(or how thats called?) user, just personal file storing, low amount of info

I had to use Dropbox to download a picture that I ordered from Esty. OK, a one time deal, free trial period. I received a text and a phone call that there was a fraudulent charge on my bank card... Dropbox had charged me $119 for a full year subscription after the so called free trial! This company is a scam and I'm sure they are charging many other unsuspecting people. As others have stated, no refunds, no recourse, no customer service. This company should have a star rating of -1! Reporting this to the BBB!

I started a 'free trial' which was scheduled to end on November 29th. On November 28th, the day I went in to cancel my free trial (which you have to enter your credit card info to use), they charged my account $200 for an annual subscription. This was the DAY BEFORE my free subscription ended! If it was November 29th, shame on me, charge me. But the day before is deceptive and criminal even if it is in the fine print somewhere. Come on DropBox!

I had used Dropbox on my Win10 for a long time with no problems. Then I stopped for a while and got a new PC. Downloaded the latest Dropbox, installed it, answered all the tedious questions and verifications with "You're successful" comments. Final comment: "Dropbox is successfully installed". Then when I started Dropbox nothing happened. Absolutely nothing. Am I the village fool or the programmer? I don't think it's me..

Apparently I have been charged for a service I barely used by Dropbox. There is no phone number. Chat sends you to a site that tells you to cancel on another device. I checked and I paid $10 five years ago and somehow this is a recurring billing. I would really avoid this company. GoogleDrive works much better for the same price. I have had it for years.

My business had me sign up for a plus account and upon noticing that they had charged me an additional year I called and requesting cancellation / refund. It was not long after renewal and they refused to offer any support and had to pay for the additional year of service...

I have had a personal paid dropbox account for years. I rarely ever log in to the web version. One super annoying thing is the ease in which you can move folders without meaning to and then the next time you go to dropbox everything is missing. Requires you to login to web and see your activity. Then find that 20,000 files and dozens of folders were accidentally moved to some super obscure folder without intending to. I have had google and MS folders for many more years than dropbox and never once has that happened. I asked dropbox to make this accidental folder moving more difficult a few years ago, but since it just happened again, apparently they don't think it's an issue. You used to be able to talk to customer support but no longer. It's frightening to open dropbox and to see a whole huge body of work, years of work and files, simply vanished. OK they are't permanently gone (not yet anyway) but still I never asked to move that folder (containing thousands of files and subfolders) to that obscure totally unrelated folder, so it shouldn't have happened.

A business that takes this amount of money from people world-wide that cannot provide a customer service phone line should not be allowed to be in business. They overcharged me, and see how long it takes you to find an email address to contact them?!?!? It's clearly done on purpose. The jump from free to a subscription is ridiculous. Very unprofessional company that needs a massive overhaul ! Governments need to get involved, that if there is no single phone number available to purchasing customers, then that company should be not allowed to operate. If they are not making enough money to provide that when charging so much, they should be taken to court for illegal practises. The amount of money they would be stealing because customer's cannot contact them would be outrageous !!!!! Everything is complicated and leads you up the garden path, except taking your money !!!

Messed up my whole pc. So i was thinking about restarting my pc from the start but didnt really want to only if my games got really laggy. I installed this to share something for a game. And it spammed me with messages saying that a number of files has been moved somewhere. I restarted my pc and my desktop was messed up. All the icons was moved to the side. It said it would give them back their original place but it didnt. It also copied my whole computer on it. So it took quite some time to uninstall. It also deleted my 100+ hours of work which is so not cool!
Please do not install
would give 0/1000
I will NOT recommend this AT ALL

I have tried repeatedly to cancel my free trial and they have made it impossible. I followed the link provided in their reminder email, which led nowhere. Then I followed the instructions on how to cancel, which said to go into my account and click on the plan tab and then click on manage tab, which doesn't exist. If you call for service, their automated message says that they don't provide support but doesn't provide a phone contact number. Their online support is non-existent so basically they are doing everything possible to prevent me from cancelling my free trial and apparently will start billing me in a few days. Is anyone launching a lawsuit against this company, as I would be delighted to participate. Don't sign up for anything with them as it's impossible to get free of their grip on your credit card.

I really use to like dropbox, but now it's got so bloated and you are limited to just 3 devices. It's also expensive compared to its competitors like google drive and one drive. The new mac app is awful, all I want to do is click the icons and see my files, not all the other rubbish I'm faced with :(

Worst support ever. They extremely good in finding excuses in order not to provide support, even in paid customers. Almost 2 weeks now trying to fix a range of machines not syncing properly.
Furthermore, well known bugs in their Android software, prevent proper syncing of files with Greek characters. Know for over a year this but done nothing.

Thieves. I have tried to cancel a Dropbox subscription for 2.5 years. Because I set up the account on an old email Dropbox refuses to stop the subscription or stop taking money from my bank account. They are evidently taking this money without my permission but refuse to refund or stop.
This is downright illegal and bullying.
I’d recommend staying away from Dropbox as it doesn’t seem to have the relevant customer services to deal with quite straightforward requests.
2.5 years in and I am still paying for an account not used since August2017.
SHAME ON YOU DROPBOX.
