With COVID, I am careful about online shopping and was impressed with the site, selection, and history of the company. I ordered --- was backordered --- backorder date changed --- and no one there in the call center (NOT a real customer service department) or the supervisor could convince me they were indeed legit. Promised to check the order and call back, but never called --- SO I cancelled my order. TERRIBLE experience and told them to please make me feel comfortable... but nothing was offered, so I was a scaredy cat. Quite Frankly... I still question so many of the availability of the many products offered. They would not send me a cancellation confirmation also, so I will have to get my credit card company to assist if charges come through. BE CAREFUL.

Terrible company!
I online ordered a mermaid statue for a Christmas gift on Nov 28. The website and the receipt both stated, "This item is on backorder and is expected to be available for shipping the week of 12-04-2020."
I have received 2 e-mails from Toscano asking me to rate my satisfaction with their product. So, I was worried that possibly it was delivered to an incorrect address. Therefore, I called them today (12/11/20). Only as a result of my inquiry, I found out that the item is now further backordered and isn't expected to be shipped until at least early January (after Christmas!).
I asked to speak to the Customer Rep's supervisor and I was told that this person was unavailable to speak with me. I then stated that there must be other supervisors or executives who might care about a disgruntled customer. I was told that there was not. Everyone is "working" from home and there is only one supervisor. I waited on hold until I could be transferred to her at home.
There was no offer to resolve my complaint. Only empty words of "understanding my frustration". I would have expected them to at least waive the $111.00 shipping charge. But, no. Nothing was offered.
This will be my first and last order with Toscano.

Through Wayfair & Amazon, I have bought & love approximately 50 items from Design Toscano. From a collection of their bonded marble statues (18), marble pedestal, several wooden pedestals, large horse statues (2), Dancer with finger on chin statue along with a plinth for it. Angel, Dove, Bald Eagle, and Owl wall sculptures. 2 Bald Eagle mantle statues. Marble clock. Girl with birds statue. Peacocks statue. Several Angel statues. Marble umbrella vessels (2). And many more. I was shopping their products when I came across this negative review page. Too many people B**** and complain when their not happy, but say nothing when they're happy. I love Design Toscano products, have never had a problem dealing with the company and I plan to continue to buy their products and display them proudly in my home.

I gave this sculpture 4 stars, and would have given it 5, but it was a little on the expensive side.
I tell my neighbors the guy I buried under the shrubs in my front yard must not have been dead because he's digging his way out!
Great for Halloween.
I'm an amateur artist, and this dead guy sculpture is right up my alley!

I ordered an unusual statue of the Blessed Mother. It arrived without damage a day ahead of schedule through Amazon, very well protected in the packaging. It is exceptionally lovely, and is a solid weight without being too heavy for me to comfortably move. I just love it.

Just received my cowboy and horse statue. A day early! Very happy with the product. It has a very prominent place in my living room. Will order again. Thank you.

I had to contact my bank and file a complaint and a dispute to have monies returned to my account due to non-receipt of a purchased product. Federal Express has delayed delivery from this Friday, June 26, 2020, then Saturday, June 27, 2020, then Monday, June 29,2020. Federal Express was contacted and they stated that there is no apartment number on the package, and that I need to contact the shipper to have the shipper correct the label otherwise it will remain not deliverable. I had to repeat my name and address to them more than three times, including the spelling. I requested that I would pick it up. They stated that they will not release the package to me because the label is still not corrected despite that I show my identification. I contacted the shipper, Design Toscano, and repeated my name three times, including the spelling. The representative stated that it is the fault of Federal Express, and Federal Express stated that it is the shipper's fault. Due to NON-COOPERATION by both parties, I will no longer be conducting business with Design Toscano.
I will also be contacting the Better Buisiness Bureau.

So disappointed....the quality goes down with every purchase. Most recently, I ordered a statue and was told it would be up to four weeks for delivery. Fine, I could wait that long. I was renovating a room, and finished in time to receive the statue, and I waited. And waited. After a couple of weeks beyond the "due date" I wrote to the company. No answer. Finally, a couple of weeks later I heard back"Oh, sorry, it will be up to eight [additional!] weeks." Not acceptable. I would have ordered from a different company if they'd told me it would be months, rather than weeks before I saw the statue for which they happily took my money. I've been ordering from them for 10 years, and it's very sad to see how low the quality has sunk...

My order began with a credit card discrepancy. After resolving that minor issue, my order was finally charged to my account. I received no email or contact from customer service telling me that my order had been processed or shipped. When the order arrived, the base of the statue (a statue of the Virgin Mary) was in pieces, totally separated from the rest of the statue. The packaging seemed fine, but the statue was totally broken. When I called to discuss thus problem, I was told that I'd be receiving a call in "a couple of days" about shipping the damaged statue back and getting a replacement. I should've demanded a refund and shopped elsewhere. I will never order from designtuscano.com again.

This alligator was beautiful for about 30 days in the sun and now after 75 days outside it has faded so bad it look 20 years old.
I contacted customer service ( Katie whom was essentially worthless in considering options I presented by e mail)
Option 1 was replace it at a deeply discounted price.
# 2 send me the paint colors so I can have the paint matched. Oil base, water base ?
# 3 I send it back and have them repaint it.
All of these were greeted with the response of,
It's completely out of the 60 day warranty window and there's absolutely nothing we are going to do for you and if you wanted the paint to stay nice you should have applied an acrylic based clear coat sealer over the entire alligator.
Sealing the paint is the customers responsibility!
So sorry.
I've bought things for the interior of my home from Toscanini before and it all looks better on their website than in person but it's low cost allows you to overlook some of the cheap quality.
In this case I paid a fair price and got a bad product.
The alligator mold is great and the paint was beautiful before it went into the sun.
Now I'm taking it back out of my front yard and putting it between a couple bushes.
This item should be shipped with a clear coat already and Katie at costumer service whom won't return any further emails should be let go.
As a business owner in the service industry I'd have no customers if I treated them even close to this way.

I purchased 2 art deco style lamps and one console cabinet. Most companies charge when the item is shipped. These items are on back order and not in stock until April and May. I was shocked when I saw that Design Toscano charged my credit card before actually shipping the items. I will hesitate to order any more items from this company.

I found what I thought would be a great Buddha statue for my garden. Per the online catalog, there was a picture of a gray one, with three sizes noted below it. I called to confirm that it was available in a smaller size. The Toscano rep confirmed, then completed the order. What arrived was a completely different style and color than what I thought I ordered. I called back, and was curtly informed that the smaller version was only available in a different style and color, and that it was my fault for being confused about the online catalog (Iet alone their rep confirming it). They refused to refund. It took me 3 calls to get them to understand that their catalog system is messed up and that the mistake was theirs and to issue a refund. Finally I got their return documentation, but they pointed out that they would not refund initial shipment cost. So, while they eventually issued a refund for their mistake, I was stiffed for the outbound shipment. Not happy. After 25 years of association with this company, no more. Prior merchandise was good, thus 2 stars vs. one. However, I will not accept rudeness from staff. Nor did they seem interested in understanding why their bizarre catalog might confuse shoppers. Bye bye.

Design Toscano is still up like a scam. Their ordering process (is. The part where they take your money) is very fluid and efficient. Immediately after planning your order they ask you to do a survey... Very clever to solicit reviews after people have found exactly what they want but before any service has actually been provided. Their survey even asks you of they can use your review info for their advertising.
After that, it's an immediate downward slide... Yes, the point of the transaction where they have to actually do something. You cannot get hold of anyone by phone, they don't respond to emails sent to the email address they simply on your order confirmation (customer service!!!), and don't respond to posts left on their Facebook page.
Basically, they take your money back and after that it's crickets. BEWARE! I will never use this company again.

POOR PRODUCT FINISHING
Submitted August 6, 2019
I purchased five outdoor garden sculptures last year (2018), from Design Toscano.
Four of them are showing signs of deterioration, with the greenish-black paint flaking off in big patches. The underlying white material is visible once the paint has flaked off.
They have not been displayed in an area where they could be damaged by sunshine (UV), dripping water/rain, wind or falling branches. I covered and stored all of them indoors last winter.
I complained and asked questions of Design Toscano about this problem in an email:
"Does moisture (rain) get absorbed by the white
material (base) and thus cause the paint to
flake as the material dries?
How do I protect them from further damage?
How may I go about touching up the missing
paint? Do you supply such a product for this
purpose?"
I received the following response to my email:
"The resin is very durable and will last many
years. The paint will fade overtime like most
painted items exposed to UV ray.
Unfortunately, UV is very damaging to acrylic
paints. The amount of wear depends upon your
climate and exposure.
The items can be repainted with an acrylic
based paint and sealed with a resin safe UV
protectant spray."
Best regards,
Katie

I am less than impressed with the quality of these pieces. The paint hasn't lasted a full season, and it is my problem to repair. I must find matching paint and re-create the finish on the pieces at my own expense for materials and labor.
I spent over $1000 for these garden statues, and find it ludicrous that this company is uninterested in better supporting their customers. I won't be back to Design Toscano for another purchase of any kind.

I received an alligator statue from this company last Christmas. I live in Florida and placed it outside in a screened in porch. It sat there for 6 months, and we realized a crack had appeared in its side. Nothing fell on it, no one played with it, it just had sat there. It's as if the material expanded and made the statue split. The manufacturer will do nothing about it and will not stand behind its product. It was not inexpensive, and for the money, it certainly should have lasted longer than 6 months. I will NEVER by another product from this company!

Had a glitch when ordering and ended up getting billed and sent 3 of the same items.
Was told that I would have to pay the$17.00 per return (x2) since I only needed one of the item.
Waited on hold 12 minutes to get help.was told I should know how to order. I do a lot of online ordering, but will NEVER shop this site again:(

Order two gargoyles from them. Both up on my roof now. Both have peeling paint after less than a year. Impossible to reach without hiring someone. Toscano representative not helpful at all. Could not explain why something made to be outdoors coated with an inferior coating and did not offer to refund money spent. Picture is through an upstairs window. I am a repeat customer of theirs so I would think they would care.

Well I went outside to do some pruning and added water to birdbath. It was left outside all winter. It is severely cracked so evidently it does not do well outside. This is 7 months later. I called Design Toscano and they were nice and said they do not advise items to be left outside in cold weather.

This company is horrible. I tried to order a gift for my daughter and ship it to her house. They wouldn't do it saying it could be a fraud issue. They said they sent me 2 letters to verify and all I had to do was give them the reference number in the letters. The letters didn't arrive until 2 weeks after they said they sent them. So they obviously didn't send them when they said. Then when I emailed them the verification they completely ignored me. I also offered to have the item sent to my address and have my daughter pick it up and they still ignored me. I am deaf and cannot use the phone, just email, but they were not willing to work with a deaf person. It was easier to just ignore me. So my daughter never got her Christmas gift. Horrible company. Do not buy from them.
