I called credit one as they still had a closed account they were sending me emails for. It was closed and paid off months ago and still showed on their website. This one female rep I spoke to I've dealt with before and we had the very same issue. She wanted my entire SS # in order to look into my information. She insisted and was rude. I told her other reps for my other acct have always asked for last 4 digits including other info. She said "we cannot proceed with this any further" ! WOW!!!! I asked for her supervisor. She put me on hold..into oblivion..because a supervisor never came to the phone after 10 min. I hung up and called back. I was only asked for my last 4 digits. I told him what happened he put a supervisor on the phone who said in order to access phone records it would take 30 days & she also said the female rep said I declined to give her any information. Not true! I gave her everything she needed . That was a lie on the Rep 's part and makes me think she wants entire # SS for scamming people

The worst credit card company I experienced. Their policies and documentation designed to deceive you. Their deals are exploiting people with a low credit score. Also, their logo and design awfully similar to Capital One wich is a much better bank. Would not recommend this company to my enemies.

They changed their whole system of payment, sent no notification of this change, deleted my account, was going to charge me for paying by phone, but he started asking me stuff not related to a payment like what state and other stuff! I'll take one late fee for mailing it in, pay it off ASAP, and never deal with them again, Credit One Visa. Awful.

UPDATE: Today I receive my official closed letter for the fradualent acct. They sent me the WRONG letter of an acct I paid off 6 months ago! I called back again and I swear these people are just really stupid and are not trained. I again ask for another letter of the closed fraudulent acct. If you have an acct with these people, save yourself a future headache and close it. There are much more professional cards and banks you can deal with.

If I could give negative stars I would certainly be to this company. The put a suspension on my account for making too many payments in a short period of time. In an attempt to pay of the balance faster they said that it was fraud and wouldn't reopen the account until we faxed a letter from my bank on letterhead showing where the money was removed. I had 30 days to take care of this or they were going to report to the Credit Bureaus that they requested the account closed. When we received the letter it had already been 3 weeks since the money cleared my bank so they could easily confirm with their accounts receivable department to ensure they received the money in which they did. Save your time, energy, and money. This company charges so many fees it's ridiculous, this is an account that I am an authorized user on as its my husband's credit card. I would never get a card like this they prey on people with bad credit. A secured card at a reputable financial institution is much better than this shady company.

If you're one who enjoys being harassed all hrs of the day and night over an incorrect balance they say you owe, then apply for a card with them. Big mistake, but lesson learned.

Honestly i'm very upset with my self for making business with this credit provider i further remind all consumers to think twice before falling in their scam practices . Cr1 is not here to help you rebuild your credit , the fees alone are here to RIP you off , so i advice all to cut your card or cards and pay off your balance soon and request closing your accounts .

This company is an absolute joke. Sure, get a card and start building your credit up again - but only after we charge you outrageous fees and interest virtually making it impossible to pay back your balance. Need to make a payment ASAP? Ok, for a fee of $9.95 we can do that! Any company who penalizes their customers for making payments by charging fees are just out to scam you.

you get an offer-mostly bc your above 600-650...you sign up. you use the cc..pay your bills...they offer you another or an extended line...ok ok...gimmie- I could use it, right?
then they wardial your number given, claiming you can give away rights to cellular numbers(not how fcc sees it). they do not stop wardialing you. over 120K worth of FCC violations...I get a letter saying "deeply apologie, will never happen again" but it keeps happening. No less than 10x as memory serves.
I was evicted 2x for failing to fix circuit breakers- when the paydown offer came(as a legal threat -unlawful claims of being lawyers) it was incorrect. The LVNV account was resold and not heard of. the other was sold to MCM- a known credit abuser for consumers.
MCM doesnt comply with anything within the FCRA and FDCPA timelines and the dyke in charge doesnt care. (every violation is a fineable or sue-abe offense)
MCM demanded 1500 on a 1k line- refused to settle as they bought for pennies on the dollar- continues to this day to extort me and my credit with "collections and derogatory account" statements.
MCM wont remove it but credit one put them there. cr1 refuses to do anything- they want MCM to do it. MCM wont do it.
all three of these need to be sued- and consuemrs repaid what is thiers. bumped into LVNV in dunlap,tn when I sued my slumlord- I should have chewed them out.

Horrible company to work worth. High interest rate that changes constantly. They call wanting a payment before it's even due. Had to write a letter to get the account closed. Wanted me to write a letter saying I wouldn't contact a lawyer. Why???

I applied for and received a Credit One credit card several years ago. I manage most accounts online, including making payments. Credit One doesn't allow making payments much in advance. I usually like to schedule a payment the same day I receive an e-mail with my new statement. With Credit One, you can't do that. If you make a payment, it gets attention immediately. Sometimes, that is fine. Sometimes, I want to pay at or around the due date. If I do that, I need to remember to get back online at that time. So far, so good.
My other issue is a little more important. I was out of town for an extended length of time and had my mail held until my return. When I returned, I had a ginormous sack of mail to go through. There was an envelope from Credit One. Sadly, since I receive paperless billing, I assumed that mailing was junk mail and set it aside. Later, when making a payment to my CO account, I noted an additional credit card tied to my account with payment due within a couple of days for membership fees.
I believe this is a deceptive and sneaky practice. Of course, tied to the account was an account protection service.
Overall, I have no huge issues with this credit card company. However, I do believe users need to be aware.

I believe this was one of my first credit cards, when I was starting to rebuild my credit. Although I've gotten credit line increases, they're not often enough.
Also-I have yet to be able to change my due date, so am always having to do an express payment.

Some one got a card in my name and the lady was even arrested for doing it but credit one has refused to take it off my credit report even with police report proving it was identify theft/fraud account. They have even sold it to a collection but still post negative & late payment remarks on my credit. I have called 1000+ times till I finally was fed up and raised hell and lady told me that they were going to continue to do that so fraud or not I was responsible for the debt and they will make sure that I never get anything bc of bad credit score.
IT WASNT ME I NEVER ORDERED THE CARD NOR USED IT. MY IDENTITY WAS STOLEN AND THEY GOT IT FRAUDULENTLY AND NOW IN JAIL FOR IT. I WOULD OF NEVER KNOW ABOUT IT IF POLICE DIDN'T LET ME KNOW ALL THE STUFF THE LADY DID IN MY NAME. CREDIT ONE BANK IS A FAKE FRAUDULENT COMPANY TRYING TO FOOL PPL WITH WANNA BE CAPITAL ONE BANK LOOK ALIKE CARDS AND NAME AND DOESNT CARE IF SOMEONE STEALS UR IDENTITY, THEY WILL HOLD U RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEBT, THEY R RUDE AS HELL, AND BAD BUSINESS. I HOPE NO ONES HAS TO GO THRU IDENTITY THEIF IS HARD ENOUGH FIXING IT ALL BUT TO BE TOLD PRETTY MUCH IDC THE CARDS IN UR NAME and was used so U WILL PAY THE DEBT even if it was opened FRAUDULENTLY, ur responsible and will pay or we'll keep you in hell

This card company is sending me a bill for $75.00 plus 1.38 interest on a credit card I never had! I have told them I don't have a credit card of theirs and to my knowledge never had. I checked my bank records and found no payments to them from my bank statements.

I answered a pre-approved offer and was rewarded with a shiny new credit card. I answered it because I am trying to build up my credit to buy a house. When I received my card, I read the paperwork that came with it. THIS is how I learned that I was being charged $75 for the first year and $99 for every year after that. They never mentioned the fee in the early paperwork.READ your paperwork! They are charging the highest annual fee I have ever heard of, and there is NO REASON for this! They do not give you any special prizes for paying this fee. This card is not any better than any other card. You can find cards that do not charge any fees at all.If you activate your card and make a single purchase with it, you will be liable for that $75 "introductory" annual fee. Do not take their card. If you have already taken their card, do not activate it or use it unless you are willing to give them $75 for no reason.

I apply for my first credit card and get an approval from Credit One. Worst mistake of my life. Five months later I see that my card has been paid off. I call into there customer service and explain the problem and they tell me not to worry about it look at it as a gift. Two days later I call back because my card had been charged for something I didn't do. I call in and they tell me about the charges at Walmart the day after the card was paid off. I hadn't used the card in over a month. I'm not getting angrier and angrier with the person on the other end and end up closing the account and telling to start a fraud investigation. Three days later I call again to confirm the account had been closed. Four weeks later I get a notice in the mail that I owe $556.00. I pass it off knowing the account is supposed to be in an investigation. Now I am getting debt collectors calling me for the balance due. I call Credit One again completely enraged and the investigation was never started the account wasn't closed and I can't understand a damn thing they're saying. They're still telling me I owe $556.00 and that they will start an investigation and will call me back. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. I TRULY BELIEVE THEY ARE A SCAM!!!!

Walmart gift card scam
I called up the number provided to call and check the status of my account and a representative told me if I paid 4.00 with my debit card I would be mailed a 100.00 walmart gift card just for being a valued customer. So I agreed and asked 3 times if that is all I would be agreeing to. he said yes. Then he suckered me into 3 other sign ups with a company called Privacy Max/ Feecation/and Everyday Bargains all for a monthly fee for each place. When I told him I didn't want to he pushed the selection to accept the monthly charge option from his end. I think I was able to successfully cancel, but the Everyday Bargains site. I called today to ask about the walmart card promised, that I was charged 4.00 for to cover shipping and the representative said to me that it is no longer on their end.
