We were extremely pleased with our Cosmos tour. The tour director and bus driver were excellent. The bus was very comfortable and we liked that there were frequent stops to get out and stretch. We, also, liked that we had "free time" in each town. The hotels we stayed at were very good and the breakfasts and included dinners were very good, too. We'll take a Cosmos tour again.

Highlights of Route 66 - Cosmos
We recently returned from a 15 day tour of Route 66. It was a great trip. Our tour guide Steve Johnson and driver Wayne were the best. Steve was very informative and we learned a lot about the towns we were going into. I would take this trip again now.

Excellent service overall. Great accommodations, excellent guide advice about what to do with our free time.
Driver and guide both did well in coping with unplanned problems (mostly around construction detours), so everything went very smoothly. Will use Cosmos again, as this was our first trip with them.

This was a trip of a lifetime and we saw many different animals through out the whole trip. Both our drivers in Kenya and Tanzania were fantastic especially John in Kenya. Our guide in Kenya was a little annoying at times but very informative. Our guide in Tanzania was very good and informative. As for transportation we could have used a 4 wheel drive in Kenya without question. The 4 wheel drive in Tanzania was far more comfortable. The guides an drivers were very flexible with the schedules, food and picture taking. The only other thing I would have liked would be a bit more quiet time while viewing and filming. They could have controlled that a bit more. Sometimes it’s nice to hear wildlife especially when vocalizing instead of laughing and joking. That said we had a great time laughing and joking and they joined in!
In general our accommodations were very nice. The one thing that could have made it better would have been access to ice to take back to our rooms. It was a bit of a struggle to get hands on.

The most outstanding part of our National Parks trip was the itinerary. It was the most extensive group of parks visited that we could find, and they were breathtaking. If we were using a scale of 1 to 10, we would give the trip a 9. The only downsides were due to two of the overnight accommodations, and the location of a third. The tour director and bus driver were outstanding. We felt in very good hands. The bus was comfortable with many unexpected amenities, like outlets to charge our phones at our seats. The stops were well planned and arranged. The scenery was spectacular. Even the rest stops were great, because they had obviously been pre-checked by Cosmos in advance. We were impressed with the organization and logistics, never worrying about our luggage, never having to go through a hotel check in process. We found the Cosmos App helpful and enjoyed the decision to travel on scenic byways rather than the interstates. This vacation was so much more the journey rather than the destination. Our fellow passengers were from multiple countries, very congenial, and very courteous. No one was ever late to board the bus.
As mentioned above, our only concerns over 14 days were 3 accommodations. We knew we would be staying in two star-budget hotels, and had adjusted expectations accordingly. With that said, we were perfectly satisfied with the vast majority of our accommodations. However, the Quality Inn, Page should be taken off of Cosmos's list. It's in need of a major renovation and without going into detail about the condition of the tub in our bathroom or the door we needed to use multiple times to reach the lobby, it wasn't good. At the Yavapai Lodge in Grand Canyon National Park, one of the two beds had been made up with stained sheets. Also, the food served in the Lodge cafeteria was the worst we encountered during the trip, so we opted for the snack shop and grocery store. The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas was just fine as an accommodation, but it opens onto Fremont Street, an area that might be entertaining for some, but very edgy for others. We met several passengers from our trip who did not feel safe walking in the immediate neighborhood. We did not have that problem, and enjoyed the proximity to some exceptional and reasonably priced dining at places frequented by the local residents, but between the street people and the homeless people, it might be uncomfortable for some.
We both feel that this was one of the most exciting and interesting vacations we have ever taken, and strongly recommend it. We feel we got great value for the money. None of the negatives described above detracted from the overall enjoyment of our experience.

The scenery on this trip was awesome. Our bus driver was great, friendly & personable. All the hotels but 1 were very good. The other was adequate.
We could have given 5 stars but our tour director didnt have a group meeting so we could get to know our fellow travelers. She had a heavy German accent so she was at times hard to understand. If she would have stood up or turned to face us it may have helped.

We were able to see some fantastic sites with expert guidance along the way. It allowed us to thoroughly enjoy our vacation with meals on our own and an adequate amount of time to also explore on our own. Highly recommend the tour of the Canadian Rockies!

I enjoyed most of the tour’s excursions and the local tour guides were very good! The only unenjoyable part of the trip are the hotel rooms that did not have air conditioning.

We waited at the airport for over an hour for our tour guide who was late. Then he had us sit in the bus over an hour while he waited for the next tour group. We then we taken to the hotel ww were dropped off. We sat and/or slept in the lobby FOR 5 HOURS.. The hotel check in was 3:00. When I asked hotel staff will we be getting ouR room soon, I was told in order to get a room before 3 we would have had to rented the room the night before. Our tour directer was out and about getting more tour groups and leaving them at the hotel. He told me that we were told that when we paid for the trip. NOT TRUE. Felt like we were cattle being herded into the hotel. HORRIBLE FIrST NIGHT EXPERIENCE. Told cosmo, was told they were investigating it and for me to be patient. Its is going on 2 weeks. Nothing from cosmos.

This was a really nice experience to see so many countries in 12 days. I would have liked to stay longer. But the bus was nice and the tour guide was fantastic! Go Orsi!

We took the "On Safari in Kenya and Tanzania" tour. The guides and drivers were very good - very knowledgeable. Accommodations were good, even the ones that were canvas-sided.
We went to see animals and to see what East Africa was like. We achieved those goals.
Because of flight delays, we were unable to catch up to our group until the third day of the tour, but everyone we encountered helped us in this endeavor. This included finding our lost luggage and getting it to us. Make sure you purchase travel insurance!!
We did not give five stars to this evaluation because the safari vehicles on the Kenya portion of our safari experience were just not as good as the ones used in Tanzania.

This was our first guided tour and it was a good choice for the Switzerland by rail trip we chose. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help with any and all questions and issues that might crop up. I'm not sure if we will take another guided tour, but with the Cosmos option for a self guided tour where they make the arrangements sounds appealing. All in all it was a good trip that was very fun and enjoyable.

We had a superb time during our London-Paris-Switzerland-Italy trip last July 26-August 6, 2019. I travelled with my sister for a sister bonding trip. We were on our own while we were in London but at the moment that we met our Tour director Patrizia and our coach driver Antonio from Paris to Italy we were treated as VIP. 😉 It was an unforgettable experience. Everything was organized and Patrizia was very knowledgeable. Antonio was very patient with us bringing us everywhere. We were able to go and visit the most interesting tourist spots. The group was very happy with the tour. Their service was excellent.

Best of Netherlands Tour with Ingrid Brandts. The tour was overall very good from start to finish. The bus driver and the tour director were both professional, friendly, and knowledgable. We have taken a previous Cosmos tour of Germany approximately 3 years ago and it was horrible. As always, the selection of hotels for this tour was average due to the location. They are mostly not in the city center especially the one in Amsterdam. Other than that main reason, it was a smooth sailing tour. The hotels, bus driver, and tour director make a big difference. I am willing to try Cosmos again in our future holiday.

The experience was fantastic and I loved all the different people I got to share it with. The only thing I would’ve changed is the amount of time we spent on the bus. Although I understand we had to make it around the whole country, I was in need of more time relaxing at the beautiful locations. I really enjoyed how put together the itinerary was and how hardly any mistakes with hotels occurred. The tour guide was amazing and I hope to have him again someday during another tour.

My wife and i went on a Cosmos tour with our son and his wife to Rome, Florence, and Venice. We arrived in Rome on August 10th, and were booked at the Laurentia Hotel. The staff at the hotel were very nice, but the hotel was in a part of town that was overrun with graffiti on all of the buildings, and was very run down. The furniture was broken, and the rooms were dirty. The air conditioning for the first room they gave us did not work at all, nor did it work in our son's room. When we advised the hotel staff that the air did not work and we were checking out and going to another hotel, they offered us upgraded rooms. The only upgrade was that the air barely worked, and there was an extra twin bed in the room. When the rest of the tour group joined us on the 12th, we were advised by Kassie of Destination Travel, the company we booked through, that they were lodging a formal complaint to Cosmos because ALL of the rooms were completely unsatisfactory. People did not have air, and some rooms had mold issues. I have attached photos to confirm my assessment of the hotel, all label Laurentia.
We were assured that the hotel in Florence was MUCH nicer, and that if we just stuck it out, it would be fine once we left Rome. We looked up the reviews on TripAdvisor for Hotel Italiano in Florence, and were less than impressed by what we saw, but decided to give it a chance. Needless to say, when we got to Florence, the rooms were disgusting. I am attaching some photos of our rooms. Photos 1-7 are from my wife’s and my hotel room. Photos 1a-7a are from our son’s room. You will see mold, broken lights, broken curtains, pubic hairs on the bathroom floor, hairs in the freshly made bed, a broken toilet… On top of what you can see, I can’t even describe the smell in the room. The air was acrid, and caused my eyes to burn. We brought up our issues with Francesca, our tour guide, and she promised to get them to change our rooms and resolve the situation. She spoke with the manager of the hotel, and was informed that there were no rooms available to move us into. This forced us to move to other hotels for the rest of our time. This was a major inconvenience as we were not with the rest of the group, and were separated from each other. We ended up touring Florence on our own because of the difficulty in traveling back and forth. We ended up wasting 5 hours of valuable time finding and moving to alternate hotels, and by the time we were finally settled we walked to the closest restaurant for a late meal and went home without seeing any sites.
Prior to taking another chance at the hotel booked for us by Cosmos, we again went to TripAdvisor to read reviews of the Hotel Poppi in Venice. They were almost all negative. After reading the reviews, we decided against wasting another ½ day checking into and then out of a hotel that was obviously going to be disappointing. We booked 2 rooms at the Hotel Molina Stuckey in Venice, and went straight there without even going on the bus with the rest of the tour, again because of the inconvenience of having to meet up with the rest of the group.
I will never again use Cosmos tours. We asked for a partial refund after lodging a complaint with our travel agent, and were blown off. They merely offered a $75 credit for use on another tour within the next two years. We spent almost $2k extra for hotels and travel due to the poor service offered by Cosmos and their partners.

Our tour of the Norwegian Fjords was incredible. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of Norwegian history and the sights that we visited. Our coach driver made the ride very comfortable. My paternal grandparents were both born in Bergen and that will a part of me for the rest of my life. Great experience! Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely the Worst Tour Company To travel in Greece . My Wife and I opted for a 12 day tour of Greece . The Tour guide was new and inexperienced ... , which is the initial problem . My Wife and I have learned to stay to ourselves and it might appear aloof ... , but a necessity if you want to avoid overwhelming personalities. That being said , It Wasn’t Enough ..... Our tour consisted of a large group of Australians and a few BITTS ( British ). They either were traveling together or were on their 2nd To 3rd tour and knew each other . We on the other hand were 4 Americans. The Aussiladies and BITTS personalities were Both Obnoxious and Rude and reminded the four Americans of “GANGBANGERS” back on our home turf and they Very quickly creating a Tainted atmosphere , which this Tour Guide never addressed or Squashed . Needless to say , both Cosmos and Greece are a vocal subject matter that my wife and I express to Family , Friends and Neighbors in a negative light . We both have traveled extensively and Tours as a Whole have now , a bad connotation . When we contact Tour Operators ( NEVER COSMOS ) , we now specify the size and makeup , of that specific tour .

Spain and Portugal - May 2019
Tour was enjoyable and pretty well organized. Had initial issues with canceled flights and lost luggage but our tour guide, Billy, was very helpful in getting daily updates on the status of our luggage and offering suggestions on where to buy clothes in the meantime! Tour ran well considering was a large group of 45 people, didn't have to wait too long on stragglers. Local tour guides were very knowledgeable, sometimes felt like they offered too much information for it to really sink in! Tour of Alhambra in Grenada was nice but very crowded and missed most of the actual palace. Was disappointed that first day in Lisbon was when most things were closed. Also disappointed that there was no goodbye dinner.
Biggest issue was with use of cosmos app. The app was supposed to be for use without a wi-fi connection but it would often continue to buffer and when using the map, it would freeze and then update with different directions. Was using the app to get back to hotel in Madrid and took triple the amount of time due to directions changing several times with slow update and hard to determine street names. Otherwise, tour director Billy and bus driver Telles were very knowledgeable, personable, and approachable. Answered our questions and made the trip very enjoyable. Would recommend!

31 day All about Europe, reading the itinerary it all sounded wonderfull, we knew we would be busy but this is no holiday, it's boot camp. Many hotels too far out of town & you arrive late afternoon, included meals are normally at these hotels as you can't get into town to eat.Up early , breakfast , luggage out , on the bus.Werent allowed to use toilet on bus unless an Emergency. They stop every couple if hours for break , then 42 of us running for toilets. No eating on bus or coffee.Extra excursions you pay for are ok some we did on our own much cheaper so do your research.Ferry from Italy to Greece overnight was disgusting , smelt like a sewage farm as you are not allowed to flush paper, have to put it in a bin next to toilet!!! Disgusting smell everywhere, not much to choose for food options & staff onboard very rude. Many 1 night stays which means you see very little of the place.Great group on tour which made it fun but home a week now & can't even remember half the places in our photos as it was so rushed.Last day was Amsterdam hotel was near airport so only got 2 hours to see Amsterdam after included diamond factory tour, lots of upwelling in many places, leather factory, glassblowing, all to get more money out of you. Then the tour director did big speech on bus about how much her & driver had given up for us the last 31 days & told us how much we had to pay them in gratuities & when to pay it.Many people had paid upfront and were very angry they did.A few that had not gave them less.Tour director cracked it stormed off from farewell dinner and then hardly spoke to anyone when she dropped us at Euro train next day.Paid a lot of money in the end to see Europe on speed Dial, they need to be more honest with the itinerary as I have seen many reviews stating similiar. Wish I had read them before I booked as I booked on recommendation of brother.Would not recommend if you really want to see Europe
