I have been back and forth with this company for 13 years now and today is the final straw. First I updated my maiden name and address which, to there credit, is the only thing that has been done right. Then I tried to remove my father from the account which should have happened when I turned 18. The paperwork to remove him gets lost on their end, disturbing considering how much personal information it contained. Then I fill it all out again and he gets removed but my, incredibly simple, name gets misspelled. I call to fix that and get told I have to go through all the paperwork for a 3rd time So I wrote and e-mail and got a call the next day with a girl swearing up and down she could fix it all and I wouldn't have to do the paperwork again. Given the total incompetence up to this point I really shouldn't have been surprised that I got sent something today with my maiden name, not my updated name, and my father is on the account again! She somehow made things worse than when she started. I call to get this all fixed again and get told there are paper versions of the stocks and that's why they can't remove him? But they did! They can remove him because they already did when they misspelled my name!! She is saying I have to fill out more paperwork, pay for a notary, and pay $80! For something that never existed? Why was this issue never mentioned before? All the sudden this other issue that no one else caught magically exists? Now I am going to be out close to $100 by the time this is all said and done due to the incompetence of their staff? They have had 13 years worth of chances but I've had these stocks 30+ years. I have been beyond reasonable. All I need is:
1. My father taken off as a custodian
2. My name spelled correctly
3. Checks that I cannot cash due to the aforementioned issues reissued with the correct information.
That is it. That is all that needs to be done. I shouldn't have to beg for simple every day things. Let alone wait 13 years for it. This is all they need to do to make me happy. I am just asking for them to do their jobs.

Beyond difficult to deal with either on the website or on the phone. After making a mistake on my elderly mother's account by sending her dividend checks to her 3 beneficiaries at 3 different addresses, they required a medallion stamped document to correct the problem. We we never able to get the problem resolved because of the difficulty of getting my mother to a bank that would issue a medallion guarantee. Now that my mother has passed away we all need to locate a bank to get a medallion stamped document to transfer the shares to us as her beneficiaries. Can't wait until we try to sell the stocks to get away from this nightmare.

Do not deal with this company on any level, whether it be an investment or mortgage funding.
They never do what they say, I would consider them fraud artists.
I will be sueing them in the near future.

Poor customer support bordering on criminal. They won't let me have access to my securities, and I am considering legal action.

My dad passed away and I've been trying to get his stuff transferred. They have been difficult from day one. I submitted all of the forms they requested for Transfer and receive a letter saying they need more. Can't wait to get everything transferred so I can sell it and move on to a much more pleasant experience.

Worst company I have ever dealt with.
Website didn't work after my registration.
- They provide a link to contact them via email, but then when you click the link you get a message saying that the service is no longer available. Why have the link then???
- The tell you to contact them via phone, but don't list a phone number.
- Automated phone service, once you finally find a way to call them, is a joke. Half the time I just got hung up on.
- Online help via an automated system is available, but completely useless. It's pretty much just a faq presented in a more difficult to deal with format.
I am now, one month later, waiting for an actual piece of SNAIL mail to arrive, so that I can complete my ONLINE registration!!! ridiculous beyond belief!
The only reason I HAVE to deal with this joke of a company is that I received some stocks via my employer, and want to transfer them into my brokerage account. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to do.

I have spent hours on the phone and computer trying to sort and still not able to do so. Disgraceful customer service on the phone as well

This company simply cannot get their stories straight!! My Dad is the executor of my deceased uncle's estate. He cannot get stock transferred, even though he has spent about $400 to provide Computershare with the certified death certificate, updated court appointment, and letter of authorization. Even though they acknowledged that they received all of the documents, this morning I was told that they were going to tell Dad that they would refuse to process the request (again!) because he hadn't provided the required legal documents that we have proof they received 2 weeks ago. Every time we contact them, there is a new person and a new line of BS. The last time, they tried to blame the post office!!! This garbage has been going on for months now. I am encouraging my Dad to contact the estate lawyer and start legal action. I think it is the only thing that just might get this resolved.

When the company I work for distributed our stocks, they sent them to computershare, at the time the shares were not worth much so i let them ride, when the shares gained value, I went to check on them and it said zero balance, I contacted them and they said since the account was inactive they sent them to the state, I said why didn't you e-mail me, he said they only notify they are sending them to the state by mail, well I had recently moved so I didn't get the mail, I said could you have at least emailed me and said it may be in the process of doing so, he didn't answer, he just kept telling me its my responsibility to change my address, I knew from the beginning that this was a worthless company, site very hard to navigate, un-polite staff, no communication, if you have anything in this company I suggest pulling it out and moving it somewhere else, now on to the state to retrieve my shares.

Very Very poor customer service. Not only did I deal with my Mother's death, but within a week I applied for the account to be liquidated and the monies to be put in our accounts. It has taken just a few days short of one year to get this straightened out. No one wanted to help, no compassion for our loss and not a shred of desire to make things easy even with the stocks already being in the chosen inherited names, the will, my Father's will, the death certificates and any other form they needed. Truely a bad experience and I will spend the rest of my life warning people of their dishonest practices

The only reason they get 1 star is because there isn't zero stars. There is NO customer service. it takes MONTHS to get issues resolved. Their automated help service is a joke. Note that when there's a malady, they tell you to contact Computershare. And they don't list a number! This is, without a doubt, the WORST company I have ever dealt with.

I have shares in computershare and now I cannot sell them when I used the sell my security option. I tried putting in all my information using my medicare card and drivers licence but it told me that I was unable to verify my identy even though I entered all the details correctly!!
I also have constant issues whilst trying to log in with my security questions and I email them and they never reply back to me!
I keep having to contact my bank who I got shares with so everytime I log in I have to reset my security questions over and over, worst company ever!!!

What a travesty this company and site is. The website will fool you into thinking you've successfully changed your name (after getting married) but when it comes time to selling your shares they request ID verification - why on earth wouldn't this have been requested when changing your name via My Account in the first instance? It only gets better. A whole suite of my stock has DISAPPEARED from my portfolio. There is absolutely no trace of it. I'm still waiting to hear back from this incompetent lot so I can access my portfolio and money. It's absolutely appalling and frightening to know this sort of thing can happen. How is this mob in business still? It's stupefying.

I am being completely screwed over by these Computershare jerks. If any of you need an actual person to discuss your accounts with, call their DIRECT LINE at: 1-855-396-2113. Ask for JOSEPH
CLEMENS OR CHRIS BROCKE you may also reach them at: 1-502-301-6253. GOOD LUCK!

This company should not be in business -- very poor customer service. Representatives who take calls are ill-informed -- and provide a different story every time you talk to them. It takes far too long to negotiate a transaction or solve a problem. Completely unacceptable for a group that is supposed to be in financial services.

This is the most frustrating company to deal with. I have had the unfortunate luck to have dealt with Computershare for over 7 years. Every single transaction with them has been extremely painful, requiring 4,5,6, even 10 phone calls and messages to get them to do a simple wire transfer. Every question takes 5 days to answer, and they always lose your money and then find it again. Beware and avoid. It's unfortunate that they don't get better and that large companies continue to use them. Wake up ABB! find another business to do your stock plan!

We have portfolios with 5 brokerages, some with ten times the volume held in our Computershare accounts, have more problems dealing with Computershare, than the other four brokerages combined. They are a real work of art.

With every contact we have been given conflicting information about the availability of our shares, the types of transactions we are allowed to carry out, the fees that might be associated with each buy or sell, and we’ve even had operators stop REPEATEDLY in the middle of a call pretending that the call has “dropped out” any time we’ve asked for definitive answers to specific questions. Bad bad BAD customer service.

Horrible customer service. Even if you can get a customer service rep, they will not help you solve a problem. I had an issue with a wire transfer and it was hung up for weeks. Customer service reps basically said it wasn't their problem, when in actuality, it was. Also their fees are exorbitantly high. All and all their a total ripoff.

Very inconsiderate! I have no idea why Walmart even partners with Computershare! First they take out $25.00 out your check and they make it 7-10 business days for first class mail. I called twice about the check because it doesn’t take that long for anything to be mailed to you through first class mail. I hate it and wish I would of thought twice before using Stocks and Bonds through Walmart. The worse company ever stg!

Computer Share needs to be shut down by the FTC. They refuse to issue a statement for one of three bonds which is part of my 401k pension trust. Additionally they refuse to issue a certificate only form for the 401k trust. Additionally they are saying the TIN is incorrect for the 401k, but accept the TIN for the business that sponsors the 401k.
There is nothing computerized about computer share. They spend no money on IT, spend it on paper, and then bill the client for it. Worst company I have ever had to do business with.
Additionally Computershare is using Bank America for their transfer agent and Bank America is in trouble with the government for refusing to pay their fees to FDIC for risky loans. My point is that a Certificate only form will not protect you with Computer Share because both Computer Share and Bank America are both completely crooked. Avoid this place at all cost and encourage companies that use them to avoid them.

This is one of the worst companies I have even dealt with. It's hard to express the degree of incompetency they have exhibited over several years. Many activities require forms to be posted from the USA to me in Australia, filled out and posted back. They repeatedly mess up. They have lost or messed up wiring instructions twice. Once on the phone they told me my account had been subject to fraud and all funds were lost, only to realise they had made a mistake. Phone support is unsympathetic and not helpful. I'm somewhat trapped into working with them because they hold my shares and I despair at the risk and complexity of trying to work with them to transfer my shares to another broker.

Telephone contact review:
I had to contact Computershare as there was a tender offer for Liberty Global and I needed to get some advice about the online form and to locate another form, which is not available via the portal.
After 20 minutes of waiting [why do they keep repeating the same unhelpful advice about going to the website ?] some one picked up the phone...finally I thought. But then said that it was the wrong department. I pointed out that I had dialled the tel no. given to me in my personalised letter, 'yeah but this isnt the right department'. I was then put back in the queue and after a further long wait...the phone went dead! Computershare is a dysfunctional company, but I cant choose to use another unfortunately !
