I have been looking for an English bulldog for a couple of years. My wife and I found one at companionbulldogs.com her picture was beautiful and her name was Mimi. They were asking $900.00 to be sent through an app called Zelle. We paid the $900.00 through the Zelle app to [email protected] for Mimi. They asked for me to take a screen shot of the transfer so I did and they responded an hour later saying we are getting her ready for shipment. Then nothing no responses, no emails nothing. So I tried inquiring about Mimi through a different email and phone number and quickly got a response just like the first time saying Fortunately for you Mimi is still available blah, blah, blah. I responded to them thanking them for the fast response but I have a question how could Mimi still be available when my husband purchased her last night. I gave them my wife's email the second time and my the first so I played it out like they corresponding with my wife.. Then they did nothing.. No responses total crickets.. This all took place January 7th 2021 what a way to start a New year.

My aunt and uncle are looking for an akita puppy. Someone forwarded them this website, AlmightyAkitas.org. They were corresponding with the dog sellers and the syntax seemed odd. Pix looked photoshopped. They only accept zelle or wired payments. RED FLAG. Then I contacted from a separate email address and got their address, property tax records didn't match and property owner's social media has no info about dogs at all. Did more research and decided Zelle only payments didn't seem legit. Googled phone number and found the complaint about Companion Bull Dogs. Website looks JUST LIKE www.almightyakitas.org; clearly the same entity. Son emailed the bulldog people, reply was nearly IDENTICAL to the one from akita website. Also, they are charging $700 for the Akitas (incredibly cheap) and claiming they have free shipping vouchers and use United Airlines petsafe cargo transportation for the pets. I called United, because of Covid they discontinued this service in July 2020.

My wife and children have been wanting an English bulldog. My wife found a website that seemed legitimate. They were quick to respond with information and seemed to be very helpful. However, After they received the funds for the puppy they stopped responding completely. I was conned out of $900, I should have been more vigilant in my search and verified that they were not scammers but we got caught up in the moment and pictures and thoughts of having a new family member. Please do not fall for this scam.
