I booked a train ticket from Shanghai to Guilin and I receive the reservation straight away so everything ok for that. I would like to ad my middle name on the booking but they ask me half price of my ticket for that so not really happy. I finally refused to pay and ask to leave the booking like the beginning. After a long day of waiting an answer, I receive an email verry not professional when they just wrote : "ok got it".
Happy at the beginning but very disappointed by the customer service.

my trip in Japan with ChinaTour was a big disappointment. They made big advertisement that a DJ who lived in Japan for over 9 years will be leading the tour. I booked the trip under the impression that she would provide us extensive introductions about Japanese culture for the places that we were going to visit or tell us stories about her experience in Japan. We got NONE.
The service was bad. They took us to a so called "mini-yellow stone" which is just a small bridge as one stop. They took us to a Japanese language only museum with no audio introduction. I asked for a little verbal introduction, they refused based on the reason that they do not allow loud speaking in public place in Japan. Come on, we have earphones nowadays. I had no idea what we are looking at, what is the purpose the entire time. They took us to Osaka Castle only to take some group pictures and walk around without even getting into the Castle.
The food was bad. They took us to a barbecue restaurant which were crowded with tourists, we did not have enough time to finish our lunch

I booked a so-called 10 day trip to Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai, China. The tour guide in Beijing, was named Lisa and she was a racist. My flight departed IAH at 12:05 am on 12/05/2018 and arrived at 4:45 am on 12/06/2018. Before I could get out of the airport Lisa had called the bus driver asking for me to say that I had not paid for a tour I had signed up for and indeed paid for. I asked Lisa what in the world she was talking about as that tour was scheduled for Day 3. She said oh no it is for today and I need you to pay the driver. I told her I had an invoice proving I had paid but it was in my luggage and when I got checked into my hotel room I would show it to her. Forty/five minutes later, as I’m in a van with eight other woman and the driver, his phone is passed to me and again it’s Lisa wanting to know the invoice number. Now all nine of our luggage was loaded into the back of this van and this woman is still dunning me for proof that I had paid for a ticket on a tour for day 3. Then she let me know THIS was day 3!! How? I just got into the country an hour ago but this is considered day 3? Seems that from the moment I left my home in Houston I was already on the tour even though I was still in my car driving down loop 610! I told her again when I check into the hotel I will provide proof and to not call me again. I gave this person my invoice after checking into the hotel and after that she had nothing to say to me, even if I asked her a question. On her last day in Beijing she approached me on the tour bus and had the nerve to ask if my Michael Kors bag was real! Seems her ‘friends’ were going to be at our hotel selling knock-off handbags and she wanted to give me their room number so she could put some more of my money in her pocket. I can buy knock-off handbags right here in Houston don’t need to fly out of the country for that. Lisa was a nasty little woman who continually looked down her nose at me unless she was trying to get some of that green stuff to fly out of my wallet into hers. China was a one time trip for me and I won’t be returning.

Excellent tour for $599 and 10 days in china: beijing, xian, shanghai and more. Includes round trip airfares from/to san francisco and beijing to xian. Best deal ever, but of course considering that it is the last of the travel season, ie cold winter without the snow.i had travelled all over china in 2001 and I saw tremendous infrastructure developments. I recommend intertrips. BTW, I had traveled with intertrips to Bangkok and it was worth every penny.

This trip was marvelously fantastic.
When I bought the tour from Groupon for $799.00 originating from Phoenix, AZ, I was thinking: “ Wow, what a deal ! The round trip air fare from Los Angeles to Beijing would already cost about $700.00. I wonder what kind of hotel woud we be staying and what kind of breakfast would we be having.”
The first hotel that we arrived at was Novotel Sanyuan in Beijing and I was impressed considering the price that we paid. I was even msre impressed by the other hotels we stayed at – Grand Noble Hotel in Xi An, Grand Metropark Hotel in Suzhou, Grand Park Hotel in Wuxi,, the Grand New Century Hotel Yuahng in Hanzhou, and the Holiday Inn Shanghai. All these hotels are like 4 and 5-star hotels. The breakfasts that are included, was unbelievable. There were lots and lots of chinese and western dishes to choose from.
Services were also great, starting from the staff of Intertrips in Los Angeles, the Tour Guides and the Bus drivers.
The tour guides, Lisa in Beijing; Amanda in Xi-An; and John Tang in Suzhou, Wuxi, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. were all great. They are very knowledgeable, english-speaking, hospitable and very helpful. Thank you Lisa, Amanda, and John. Thank you, Laura of Intertrips in Los Angeles.
All the Tourist spots that we visited were great, too. The cities that my wife enjoyed the most is Shanghai and Beijing.
What I learned from this trip is that the Chinese people are very honest, helpul, and friendly. There are not that many people in China who speaks English, so it you want to go around on your own, I suggest getting this “Translator” app on your phone. You speak in English and the phone would translate it to Mandarin so you can let the other pary listen to it. In turn, they would speak in Chinese and the ranslator will translate it to Engish, so you could listen to it.
I have recommended similar tour to China by Intertrips to my relatives and friends. As of now, I’m looking at an Intertrips touor to Japan for 2019.

our tour guide in beijing, michael, was great. so was our guide in shanghai, qi. she went above and beyond making up for our delay one day in flying from beijing to shanghai. she took us to a swap meet-type place, where i got eyeglasses made for cheap! and she took us on the maglev train, which was so cool.
thought the tour was really well done and so affordable!! thank you!

We are not group tours fans, so we asked them to organize a private tour for our family instead.
The agents in their Los Angles office were excellent, the tour was wonderfully organized and guided. They took care of every aspect, from the warm welcome at the airport to every site, hotel, and domestic flight. We highly recommend this travel company!

This trip exceeded all of our exceptions. China was amazing - such a fascinating combination of old and new.
Daisy from InterTrips took care of all our pre-trip arrangements, including the visa. The flights on Air China were very nice and we were able to select our seats in advance for a small fee.
We were met at the Beijing Airport by our outstanding guides Michael and Eric. They were very easy to spot after clearing immigration and baggage claim. The hotels were all top notch with so many breakfast choices. There were about 38 in our group and everyone was conscientious about being where they needed to be at the assigned time. Our guides in Shanghai were Qi and Wu, both were fabulous.
There were lunches included almost every day that were served family style at tables of 8-10 with lazy susans for passing the Chinese food. There were always several proteins, rice and vegetables, plenty of food for all. There was local Chinese beer and usually Sprite.
My favorites were climbing the Great Wall, optional MagLev train tour in Shanghai and optional boat ride on the Grand Canal in Suzhou. Wish we had signed up for the optional Shanghai river cruise.
I thought the shopping would be annoying but ended up loving all the presentations. We bought something at every stop.
Overall, we travel a lot and this was one of my favorite vacations ever. Would go again any time.

Just returned from the 9-night Splendid China trip. Kudos to agent Vivian Niu, and our two local guides - Jing and Laura. Hotels were out of this world, meals delicious and filling, guides were kind, enthusiastic, and put up with a lot due to the few "ugly Americans" who were in our group of 30. Busses were comfortable, and sights we visited were very interesting. We especially enjoyed the Hutong Village excursion in Beijing. Our visa arrived in plenty of time prior to departure with explicit instructions for how to handle them. I've been recommending InterTrips to everyone I speak with. We look forward to more travels with this fantastic company.

Horrible Service. A Complete waste of money per our opinion. Do not book this vacation, they will place you in dangerous places that have strangers breaking into your hotel room. They will put you on miserable tours where they will leave you stranded unless you pay more. They will take you to places with aggressive sales people and you will not able to see any of the sites. Just a nightmare vacation. Also be very afraid to leaving a negative review or sharing your experience with them because they will threaten to sue you and start attacking your character, morals, and orientation.

I did the 8 day tour starting in Beijing for $699 with my dad. It exceeded my expectations. they really look out for you the whole way, no BS at all. We enjoyed the tours in the silk, tea, and jade factories and never felt a hard sell. Yes, the items were a bit more expensive than if you found them in other places but they were in line with the level of hotels we stayed at. You dont have to buy anything you dont want, but you get to learn about them. If I flew to China on my own I would be happy to pay for thees tours. The boat rides were also great for photos.
I had stayed at the Great Wall Marriott for about $380 a night in 2012, yes it was nice, but it wasn't nearly as nice as these hotels we stayed in on the tour.
The trip must be subsidized to give it away at this price. They did make sure to only show you an impressive experience. Its really the best of China. Im going back for the 15 day tour with the whole family next year. I think China is investing in good impressions on this one and have out done themselves.
Save a seat for us in Feb. 2019

Definitely am glad that we took this 9 day trip to China in March 2018! For just under $1,000/person we received so much bang for our buck...visa, round trip flights from Houston to Beijing and Beijing to Shanghai, wonderful hotel accommodations including full delicious breakfasts each morning, sight seeing tours with bus transfers and guide, and more! I've heard the government subsidizes the trip costs to get visitors over there, and it worked as we went and had a great time spending money where we wanted on optional tours (all that we did were excellent!) as well as nice souvenirs. We had a fantastic time in the cities we visited (Beijing, Shanghai, Hanzhou and Suzhou), and we can't wait to take advantage of another one of their trips!

Excellent value for the money. Hotel accommodations were all better that we expected. Buffet breakfast was excellent at all of the hotels. We visited the local businesses as part of the tour. They were informative, however we spent a lot of time there - waiting for the last person in the group to decide whether or not to buy something. We must have been at silk factory for 2-3 hours. We did many of the extras that were offered (Golden Dynasty, Shanghai Acrobats, rickshaw ride and a couple others. All were well worth the additional price. We had two different tour guides who were very good. One gave us all a piece of paper with his cell number on it so we could call him if we got lost. Both spoke excellent English. We might even do this tour again some time in the future. Definitely recommend it for someone who wants to see China.

It comes down to the air transportation arranged awful. Months before travel we were sent a copy of the air reservations and asked to ok it. We were shocked the return flight arrangements would require us to be on flights or waiting in airports at total of 48 hours. So we said this does not work please arrange something else. When we received our travel package weeks before our travel nothing had been changed. We went back and fourth with the represtative for weeks and nothing changed. She reminded us of the low cost of the trip as an excuse for the poor flights arranged. This trip required us to spend 16 hours in Saigon’s airport outside of security because we could not check our bag early. This after a two hours flight into Saigon. Boarded flight 16 hours later and after a 5 hour flight another lay over in Soul for 12 hours before our 11 hour flight home. At our insistence we were provided a 2 star hotel in Soul to freshen up for 4 hours but this had been a big drawn out battle with the represtative to arrange. Would never travel with this company again. My wife and I have traveled coach around the world with many other companies, India, Africa, China to name a few. So we had a lot of others experiences to compare this one too. Avoid this company.

I will not hesitate in recommending your group tour to any one. However, you must disclose the cost in detail. My group of twenty people were confused when we were told that our 100 dollars per person tips to tour guide and driver were collected to share with you (management).

I hadnever taken a guided tour before and had some reservations goinginto it. I travelled with ChinaTour to Vietnam and Bali in March 2017. Both trips were outstanding with great accommodations and local guides who spoke freely to us about their country and its culture. Provided tranportation was comfortable (and air-conditioned). All of the included meals were very tasty. I'd recommend this tour to anyone in a heartbeat!

Let me start off by saying that we were expecting this trip to be an email scam. The package price was super reasonable. In fact, there is no way one could travel to China, stay at nice hotels, eat, and travel to the areas we did without paying at least twice the price. Heck, we couldn't have even gotten flights for that cheap. So, the trip was a real bargain.
When we received our Visas in the mail the week prior to our flight, we figured the trip was really going to happen.
Before I get into details about the tours, let me start with the flight. Our flight, which was scheduled to be 16 hours in the air, turned into a 27 hour trip because Russia was not letting US flights over their airspace. The additional time meant an additional stop, refueling, and a fresh crew, hence the extended travel time.
Although it was no fault of the tour company, we arrived just hours before the first day of tours. We landed in the wee hours of the morning and was relieved to find our driver waiting for us when we got off the plane. That was a great way of starting our trip and confirmation that having a tour package was not all bad.
We were hesitant to go on the trip at first because none of us had ever taken a packaged tour before. I was envisioning a large busload of people, which sounds like a living hell to me. Our group, thankfully, was just 12 people, which was a relief, and we got along real well with everyone in our group. We even took a side trip with several of them one evening, which was a personal highlight.
Our first guide was Annie. Although Annie was personable, she was very difficult to understand. She didn't have the command over the English language that we had hoped, and it appeared she was new at the job and wasn't quite ready to lead. In addition, the sound system in the bus had an echo effect that compounded the problem. Every conversation required strained attention.
We were with Annie for the first two days of our trip, in Beijing, where we went to The Great Wall, which was fantastic! We wasted valuable time at the Jade Museum, one of several stops that make the trip so inexpensive. Another such stop was at a Traditional Chinese Medicine Center, where we were quickly disappointed to find that this was just another opportunity to relieve the tourists of their money. It's a shame since it could have been so much more. We expected to hear about a variety of interesting topics but instead witnessed the hard sell of herbs to improve your health.
Also on the agenda was the Forbidden City and Summer Palace, which were just as crazy-overrun with tourists as Tiananmen Square, to the point of being overwhelming. We felt that our tour guide really let us down with limited information and context on those stops. I don't think our 15-year-old got a grasp of the significance from any of the tours on the first two days.
We also visited a pearl factory, which provided some good information but also lasted a bit too long. Beside the lunches that were provided at the pearl factory and the jade museum, the food was uniformly delicious.
When we flew to Shanghai, we had our second tour guide, John. He was fantastic! If we had had him for the entire trip, we would have rated this trip 5 stars. We could ask him anything about China and he was open to discuss anything we asked. Our group of 12 asked him all kinds of questions, and it was educational to understand world views from the China point of view. John led us for the rest of the trip, and for that we are thankful.
We walked on our own on the streets of Shanghai, which is like the US version of Wall Street. We found Shanghai much more interesting than Beijing. Then we traveled to Suzhou, and later Hanghou. The Hangzhou causeway boat ride was one of the highlights of the trip. We could have toured the market there for several more hours.
The silk spinning factory was interesting, though we would have liked to spend more time looking at the displays rather than shopping. We didn't care for any of the sales stops, but the bamboo clothing stop was the most interesting.
Another highlight of the trip was the national park at Huangshan, which was a $149/person addition to the trip. It was worth it! What a beautiful park, even in the wind and rain. Another trip highlight.
The old streets in Huangshan City were less interesting than the other, being a bit too touristy for our tastes.
Overall the trip was a complete success. The success of your trip will depend a lot on your tour guide. By the end I really appreciated the benefits of being on a guided tour. We didn't need to worry about anything--no car rental, no trying to read maps, no tolls, no language barrier. A guided tour was the way to go, so I am happy we went. I think you will, too.
