I am both a customer of Bank of America and Chase. I called BOA's 800 number today and got a prompt response. Chase, on the other hand, has all over their website that they can't take calls. I sent a secure message through the website and their response was it will take a week to answer.
Both are LARGE financial operations. It's obvious who has better customer service.. When this viral crisis is over, I will switch.

Chase refused to help during this difficult Covid19 times. I asked for financial hardship program due to The health issues and they told me that according to them they think I’m able to pay... interesting when they they know more about you than you do... lol... Thankfully Discover were able to help and took over. Closing all business with Chase after being a loyal customer for 10+ years. No more Chase for me... Definitely not recommended banking option.

My online account has been locked "due to suspicious activity" for about a week now. I have no idea what triggered this (I have received no notice, messages, warnings, etc), but, for some reason, I am still able to use my cards and accounts so apparently the "suspicious activity" is not serious enough to lock those (thankfully).
I have been completely unable to access my personal or business accounts. This includes checking accounts, debit cards, credit cards, etc. I can't make payments to vendors. I can't transfer funds to pay payroll for my business. I can't monitor or pay for credit card charges. All in the midst of this coronavirus pandemic leaving many people with uncertainties surrounding finances.
I have called every single day for about a week now only to be placed on hold. I have spent over 10 hours on hold. None of this time (all of which I have screenshots / proof of) does not include getting to actually speak to a person as that time has probably totaled 10 minutes. Every single time I get placed on hold the call either gets dropped or I'm just left on hold indefinitely (I usually hang up after about 2 hours).
I have tried reaching out via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well. No response.
I have tried emailing managers / executives. No response (not surprising).
I have tried going through my local branch. Can't help me.
I don't leave bad reviews. This may be my first actually. However, this situation is completely unnecessary, unprofessional and alarming as well (i.e. has CHASE been hacked or something? are they not able to handle situations like these?).
I've been a customer all the back to when WaMu was around. I've referred tons of my clients to bank with CHASE and I've been loyal for well over 20 years.
If / when this gets resolved I will have no choice but to move my accounts to another bank as I have lost all faith and trust in CHASE. What a shame.
For what it's worth, some simple solutions for a company that should've had these things in place a long time ago to avoid losing customers like me and chasing away possible new ones... (1) Offer a live chat option on your site for when your phone lines are overwhelmed (2) Offer an option to receive a callback so customers don't have to wait on the phone (3) Don't have support channels on social media if you're not going to use them, it's insulting
(4) Use your social media channels to communicate issues and provide updates
I'm beyond disappointed, frustrated, angry, etc. CHASE has completely failed. I hope this review helps someone in choosing the best bank for them. If you value customer support and even a small feeling that the bank that controls your money actually cares about you then I highly recommend looking somewhere else than CHASE.

After being put on hold for 2 hours today AND last night, the system just hangs up without warning. Great customer service in the time of crisis, Chase! And people wonder why Big Banks get a bad name. TRY some good ol' fashion customer servicing and that should help you tons. No wonder your hold times are only at 2 hours...if you hang up on everyone that is at 2 hours, that should reduce that hold time by plenty.

I have been a chase customer for over 2 years. I received a payment from an Attorney client and because it was 2K more than my usual, they put a 10 day hold on it. (During quarantine). Now with no money I have to wait 7 days for the money that has already cleared and been released from my Client bank. I sent copies of emails and invoice to CHase, Crickets!
I have spent 4.30 hrs Tuesday, 5 hours Wednesday, and 1.5 hours today just trying to get through to someone that can help without them hanging up on me. DO NOT USE CHASE BANK! For the money my business gives them in fees, they should want to help.

Chase is a big bank and they always attract customer with all these unbelievable incentives, but they don't get ** done. I am selling my home and my buyers are using chase thinking chase is a big bank, good rate etc. So 31 days into escrow, they still couldn't get the loan approval. All they tell us is they will get it done tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow. As a seller, I am purchasing another home which has been waiting for the fund from my old home to new home. Fees and fine from the delay were kicking it since chase has delayed the buyer's loan and we ended up paying tons of fee. They originally promised 15 days but they were so far off from the deadline. I will never go with chase or recommending anyone to go chase. This was one of the most frustrated experiences I have in my life so far.

Just received my notice for my adjustable rate. Was expecting a slight reduction. Wrong. Exactly the same as last year. When I called Chase asking why, since all interest rates a lower this year, I was told mine is based on the LIBOR index.and it had not lowered. That was a lie. I checked the rates online and all LIBOR rates are lower than last year. All by at least 1 point. I will get out from under this loan as quickly as I can and never again do business with Chase. If you are going to screw me, kiss me first.

I never knew that a bank has the right to withhold funds from a check deposited into an account. Recently, I deposited a rather large dollar amount check from an investment account into my Chase savings account. I discovered that Chase put a hold on the funds for seven business days. I checked with the investment company and found that the funds were transferred on the date of my deposit. I spoke with Chase bank representatives, both in person, via secure online messages, and via telephone. Even though I provided proof of the transfer, not one person could provide a reason for the bank holding the funds. I've been a Chase customer for more than twenty years. Because of the above, I will be moving my business to another bank.

The Chase bank on Barksdale Blvd in Bossier City, La has the worst customer service. Two out of the last 3 times I have been to that branch, I had to wait over a hour to see a customer service rep. Today, I went in for a medallion stamp, which is just a novelization on a financial document, verifying that I am the signature. I have an account and to forms of ID, they wanted a statement from the account. They said it is bank policy that I must have a statement. Te only thing they are verifying is that it is a genuine signature of mine . Do not bank with Chase. I was a stockholder for years. Thank Hod I sold the stock because with customer service like this, the business will be going down the tubes.

I left Chase years ago because of terrible business practices. And I recently made another mistake -
I signed up for the new amazon card to save $50 on an order. Well, that worked, but I then was left with minimal information on what to do next. There was never any email confirmation follow up.
I tried to log into the chase website but YOU NEED A FREAKIN CARD NUMBER TO SIGN UP/IN WITH. Which took forever to get to me physically via snail mail... Long enough that by the time I had actually received the card and logged in, I had been charged a late fee (charged $28 and it also affects your credit) and interest on a purchase I had made 2 days prior.
I don't understand why anyone would every bank with this company, let alone leave a positive review.

Because Chase has a policy to withhold funds up to the longest time allowable by (45 days) law, my car was repossessed.
I was a victim of identity theft and fraud.
When I discovered what was happening and called my bank and warned them about it and told them that I had not submitted the claim and to stop it because I I had not requested it nor authorized anyone to so.
They did try to stop it, but the crooks had already cleaned out my account to the tune of $1170.30 . This is the amount of the claims filed for my last three car payments.
Chase charged me the $1170.30 causing an over draft. When my social security disability benifits check was direct deposited into my account, Chase took the money out. The problem is that they wouldn't release the funds to pay for the money the thieves took to the finance company. I made two visits to my branch and spoke to the manager and she said that there was nothing she could do.
I got up on the morning of the 9th and the finance company had already repossessed my car. I spent more than three hours on the phone before I could find out that Chase still had the money. When, after three hours, I was finally told that Chase was going to hang on to the money for the full amount of time that the law allows, 45 days. Even after I told them that my car had been repossessed because they hadn't released the money. When I asked why, I was told
"Because they can" and when I asked what they intended to do about it, "sorry" was all I got. So I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
( yes , they are a real government agency)
One of the things that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau does when they get a complaint is to send it to the company concerned and see if they respond.
Today's date is October 30, 2019 , last Thursday afternoon I got a call from them and they said they will investigate and get back to me. It's been almost a week and and I haven't heard from them yet.
All through this ordeal I have gotten responses ranging from " because we can " to " I don't care ". Just a word of caution, be careful , remember " because they can " and " they don't care ".

I paid account balance in full. The company is charging me interest. Its a ripoff card with high apr interest. Reps are clueless.
When paying whole balance, there shouldn't be no interest period. I payoff full balance on other credit cards companies and never had any interest. Chase is getting worst by overcharging on interest.

Chase Bank is pretty good. Just be careful about getting one of the new people as your "personal banker." They seem to have a lot of turnover.

First, I opened my account online, only to receive the $200 promotion (after your account has a direct deposit) to keep my account open for 6 months. My first check wasn't set up for a direct deposit. When I went into the branch to cash my check (which was a Wells Fargo business issued check) I was advised that Chase would have to hold my check for a few days and could only give me $100.00 until the check cleared. I asked why they couldn't contact Wells Fargo to verify if the funds were good or not. I was advised that they couldn't do that and I would just have to wait for the funds to be cleared. My wife took a picture of the check and deposited (immediately) into her Bank of Oklahoma account through a mobile deposit, without me even being on her account. Bank of Oklahoma verified the funds and released the check.
After the 20th business day of waiting, I called Chase and was advised to wait a few more days. After a few more days of waiting, I called back and was advised that I would not receive the $200 because I was supposed to receive a coupon offer, but did not receive one and that the account had been open for 21 days, so the offer was no longer valid for me. And, the previous representative did not notate that she advised me to wait a few more days for the $200 credit. I went in and spoke with a branch manager who advised me that there was no notation that the representative (I spoke with on 5/29/19) told me that I didn't need a coupon. So, basically, she called me a liar and believed her incompetent employee over me. So, the customer service experience was H-O-R-R-I-B-LE!!! Plus, they charge to speak with customer service, after so many free calls.
I am closing my account as soon as my outstanding checks clear and moving over to the Bank of Oklahoma. They don't offer the fraudulent $200 that Chase offers, but they are much more professional, give accurate information, post-credits before debits, mobile banking, better offers for monthly checking account fees, and they don't charge you to speak to customer service, and.... they allow you to deposit money in someone else's bank account. Chase will not allow anyone to even make a deposit to someone else's account, even with an account number.
This bank doesn't stand by their offers, charge for services that should be free, inconvenience customers by making them wait days to get their own money when a customer sets up an account online with Chase. Nightmare ... .

I always use a VPN to protect my data while accessing the Chase.com website over public WiFi access points. Using the VPN resulted in Chase's security rules getting triggered and my checking and savings accounts being closed. Apparently, my IP address changed to often for them and they flagged the account.
I received NO PRIOR EMAILS OR Phone call from the chase Fraud department, they just closed my accounts.
So, if you are smart enough to protect you banking transaction by using a VPN Encrypted connection, be warned that it may result in all you accounts being automatically closed.
Worst experience I have ever had.

In 2017, I completed their Balance Liquidation Program. My husband and I experienced financial hardship and I was late on some payments. When I first enrolled in their program several years ago, my phone representative advised me that any negative items on my credit report would be modified to show as current. My credit card APR was exuberant and it was difficult to meet the minimum payment. Needless to say, their rep lied to me and although I have escalated this issue to CFPB, they will not adhere to their verbal agreement although I successfully finished their program. Each of their executive banking reps has back peddled and none are accepting responsibility for their rep lying to me. This situation happened with another creditor and they immediately assisted me and made things right. My husband and I have been Chase banking customers for over 10 years, and my request is justified.
Do not apply for any of their credit cards. They are notorious for lying to their customers and if you file a complaint with the BBB or any other entity, they reply just to save face. One of their specialists left a vm message that they had reached a resolution; it was a lie. Very condescending and shady, to say the least. Their letter clearly states that they will not provide any resolution. I will continue to share my experience onward with all of our friends and family so they are not subjected to the negligence and "miscommunication" that I have personally experienced.

Chase is an awful place to bank at. Do NOT bank here if you want to have access to your account. I was a recipient of $650 and they locked me out of my account and when I tried to call the chase online banking customer support number given to me they hung up on me 3 TIMES! When I finally got a hold of them they said it was MY phone having issues and that the sender needed to call them and verify the payment in order to get access to my OWN account. I then had the sender call the chase online banking customer support number and they hung up on her too! I then proceeded to go to the nearest Chase bank. When I explained to the customer service rep my situation all she did was call the SAME number I had called 4 times and nothing was resolved. They continued to state that my account will continue to be locked until the sender verifies their account information. This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous and once this gets resolved I will be my business else where. This is a HUGE inconvenience and I am very upset with how they treat their customers.

Paying with points for a hotel is the absolute worst experience. I'm paying a whole $200 extra and getting fewer perks (e.g. breakfast not included) than I would have if I bought from agoda. It went from a great treat to a very negative feeling. I'm really disappointed and won't be using it again.
