I had a really nice experience with this company! They came and had me moved in no time. They even helped me put the bigger items in their spots without expecting an ounce of my help. I'm very pleased and have been telling my friends, who are also planning a move, how great this service was.

I have nothing but good things to say about Charter Van Lines, and I am not sure where these bad reviews are coming from. I am glad I went with my gut feeling and hired Charter for my out of state move. I was treated politely, and professionally throughout the entire process. I had no idea they are a moving broker company because the transition was so smooth.
I moved from Georgia to Dallas and everything happened according to plan, which is more than I can say about the local moving companies in my area.

Charter Van Lines was a great choice when it came time to pack up and move from Oklahoma to New Jersey. They were able to help me coordinate a very large move with next to no effort on my part. Not only did they handle how to move our household, but also set up the transport of our other vehicle at the same time! They even had the option ready if we needed to store our things until our new place was finished. I would recommend Charter Van Lines to anyone looking to simplify moving.

I concur with all of the negative reviews posted in March and April of this year. I too was charged more for "additional" items after loading. Yes, I did add a couple things but I also subtracted MANY items that I ended up selling and donating. My move was inventoried by another moving company and I'd forwarded that list to Charter for them to quote from, so it's not like I guesstimated anything.
I received 5 different delivery dates over the course of the move. No one communicated the same message to me. When I was given the final date by the driver, requested the day off work to be there, he calls me the morning he was supposed to be here to say he got "stuck" in Atlanta with a big load that was ahead of mine and wouldn't be there until the next day. When he arrives the next day, he refused to pull the truck up to my place and instead charged me extra for "long carry." He did not have any ramps, appliance dollies, straps or other professional equipment and his one helper he'd found by posting an ad on Craigslist. I found the Craigslist ad to be sure the helper was telling the truth. He refused to move a toolbox into my unit because it was "too heavy." Well that item had been inventoried and showed at 350lbs, not my fault he didn't have the manpower or equipment to handle the contract.
Charter is a broker and while I knew that going into this move, I expected that they had better access to quality movers than I would. Turns out, that was not the case at all. My move was subcontracted our to two horribly rated companies. I could have hired a shady driver and Craigslist labor myself!
Charter did not respond to my report to the BBB. I have now filed a complaint with the Palm Beach County Department of Consumer Affairs. Charter is NOT licensed through the county they operate in. If I do not get an answer from the county, next I will file complaints with the state of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and then the U.S. Department of Transportation. Message me if you've had horrible service with Charter, contact me if you'd like the web address for the forms you'll need to file complaints.

Initially, I was really concerned about how I would move my items. Didn't want to undertake the stress on my own. A friend suggested Charter Vanlines. The company was really helpful. I was really impressed with the way they boxed the items, then labeled the boxes. All items and belongings were transported safely and securely. No case of loss or damage were recorded. Really impressed with the excellent service received.

My wife and I were looking for an easy way to move to our new home across the state and we were not disappointed. I had bad experiences with moving companies in the past (being late, overcharging, etc.) but I had none of those problems with Charter Van Lines. They made me feel at ease and I'm very pleased I chose them. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Please consider the next time you're looking for a moving company!

Me and My wife had to move from Ohio to Colorado this week and were looking into some lower cost alternatives to the "big box" moving companies. We only live in a two bedroom town house run by a jerk of a land lord. We really wanted to get out to rodo and fast. So we got on the good old internet and did some research and found this awesome site called trust pilot. They basically direct to the service or product that will meet your specific needs. We found this company called Charter Vanlines. Gave them a call and OMG somebody answered right away and they could speak fluent English. We got a quick quote too. $859! WOW! We couldn't believe it. We were on that like flies on you know what. The service was great for the price. Nothing got damaged and we coordinated it so we would arrive same place same time. I would highly reccomend this company as a more cost efficient alternative to traditional moving companies who charge a fortune and take their own darn time. The guys were friendly. They were carefully with our fragile property like my electronics, television and musical equipment. Im even facebook friends with one of the guys now. Don't get ripped off and go with these guys. Im definitely utilizing their services again when I need to get my Piano from my in-laws house.

Charter Van Lines is my choice for moving since they made my move so easy and very affordable. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to move my things across the country. It was much faster than I thought it would be, and they were very efficient.
Their customer service was very friendly and professional from the beginning, and they kept me updated throughout the move.
As most people are, I was worried about the safety of my possessions at first, but they did a great job, and everything arrived safely without any issues. Since there were no problems in this area, I would definitely recommend this service to anyone looking to avoid doing the hard work of moving themselves.

Charter Van Lines is by far the best moving company that I have used to this date. With others, I was bothered a variety of nuisances including damaged furniture and not being punctual. Charter's commitment to excellence blows my mind! They understand that beauty is in the details. Every interaction I had with them was so pleasant and personable. Glad to say that the quality and reliability of their moving matches their excellent customer service, they walk it like they talk it! I was moving from Miami, FL to Houston, TX and I am so glad I chose Charter. None of my furniture was damaged at all (not even a scratch). The price I paid was awesome for what I got, definitely would recommend to any friend!

Moving, especially long distance, is a headache... I think that's one thing everyone can agree on. When I got a new job 600 miles away and had to move states within a month, I kind of freaked out about how I'd manage to get it all done. I stumbled upon Charter Van Lines and it was seriously such a relief. I used their services to help pack up my place and then move it to my new home. It was easy, hassle free, and my items were treated with care. I highly recommend their services to anyone, particularly people who hate moving and/or have large furniture.

Charter Van Lines was the best moving company I have ever had the pleasure of using. Everyone was incredibly friendly and they were willing to answer any questions I had. Charter Van Lines helped pack all of my things up and they did a wonderful job. Everything arrived at my new place in perfect condition and I couldn't have asked for better people to deal with. If I ever move again Charter Van Lines will be the only company I will use from now on.
ok so I want to start with all the reviews you see for this company seems to be real fake. This company is real real fake one and they will just looking to scam you as you soon as you are done with initial payment.
They are not moving company first of all , they are just agents. My advice would do not deal with this company , I am having real hard time to deal with these folks.

This is the second time I’ve used Charter and I’ve consistently had good experiences with them. Their rates are competitive and the staff is prompt, extremely organized, and friendly. For this particular move, I hired them to help pack and move the contents of my mother’s house. Due to a back issue, I wasn’t able to do it myself. The movers carefully packed her many pieces of antique furniture and knick knacks into their van. Some of it went to her new apartment at a assisted living facility, while the rest was transferred to a storage unit. Charter made sure everything arrived at the right place without a scratch.

Working with Charter Van Lines was a pleasant experience. Being busy with work, it was only my wife and child to handle working with the moving company. Due to terrible moving companies in the past, I was worried what it would be like this time around.
Boy did Charter Van Lines take care of us.
It started with my phone call, where I reached Daniel. Daniel answered all of my questions and helped me every step of the way.
My wife said that the movers were friendly, professional and moved quickly.
The next time I need a mover, I will most definitely be choosing Charter Van Lines.
What matters is that they took care of my family. Put them at ease with the stress of moving and made it a seamless process. Thank you for taking what can be one of the most stressful parts of life and making it into something enjoyable. For that, I thank everyone in their team. Keep up the great work.

Took a state to state move with them and had no problems. Family and me needed to get to Illinois from Indiana and found them on Google. They got the job done, nothing broke in the move.
Packers came to help box up the house and that was ok too. We took the job of unpacking but I guess they would’ve done a fine job for that.
One couch was a bit of a problem to get through a door, but they managed to get the legs off and get it through.
Thanks for everything.

The people are very easy to work with, my belongings were packed and moved with skill and care, and the whole process was carried out with finesse and professionalism. Thank you Charter Vanlines!

Moving with Charter Van Lines was as easy as can be! This company was fast, friendly, on-time, and efficient! Making the move from Florida to Indiana, I was certainly nervous on how things would go. Not using a moving company before made it worse too. But Charter helped me with planning and logistics! I would recommend this company to anyone looking to move.

Moving out of state stinks under any circumstances, but having to do so with maybe a month's notice for work is especially stinky. The customer service person at Charter totally got it and made sure to communicate with me at every step. The quote was fair and the movers were super nice, which made things way easier. I'm happy I used Charter.

It is said that moving is one of the top three most stressful tasks a person has to endure. I personally can attest to that fact because I have moved six times over the last six years for work. I recently (March 2018) moved from Atlanta, GA to Washington, DC and this has been the most stressful and costly move I have ever experienced (even more costly than my move from Boston to London). I put 100% of the blame on Charter Van Lines Inc. I chose to go with a Better Business Bureau A+ rated moving company instead of handling it on my own with a U-haul because I was determined to make the move as stress free as possible. Turns out this was a huge, expensive mistake. The sales person I dealt with is named Eli Shimoni. Below I will list a series of lies he told me that led to me paying more than $800 over my estimated rate.
“You need us to pick up your belongings on March 12th? Not a problem, we have a truck in Marietta which is very close to you so it won’t be an issue.” Lie number one. Eli assured me that my belongings would be picked up on March 12th. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I booked a flight to DC on the 13th because of this solid guarantee. A week before leaving, a customer service rep called and let me know the truck would be coming either the 12th or 13th. They explained it was company policy to give a two day window. This completely ruined my travel plans and I had to pay the airline a fee to move my flight back one day.
“When do you need your stuff there? The 15th? Okay great we will see you then. The 16th the latest. ” My belongings arrived the 18th and I had to sleep on an air mattress for 3 days. I would’ve appreciated transparency. Had I known they were going to be arriving later, I would’ve stayed with friends in Georgia as opposed to spending extra money on a mattress, sheets, pillows etc. I called serval times and dispatch never returned my calls. Instead, the movers called on the morning of the 18th to let me know they were outside. What if I wasn’t home? They did not provide the 24hour courtesy call as promised.
Something I learned this move is that there are two kinds of moving companies. One with everything in house (dispatchers, sales, movers etc.) and one that is merely sales people and they sell your move to the lowest bidder so they can pocket the majority of the profits. Apparently you want to avoid the latter. I flat out asked Eli if Charter Van Lines was the former and he assured me they were. He even got offended that I asked. Turns out this was a lie too. The people who physically did my move work for Vanlines USA and didn’t even know who Eli was.
I provided Eli with an inventory list and provided exact dimensions of all of my items. 5’7” rug, 55in tv, two piece sectional etc. When the movers arrived they said I have “more than they expected” and that my items were going to take up 90 sq ft more than they thought so I have to pay an additional $200+. How is that possible when I provided exact dimensions of everything that I was moving? When I called customer service for Charter Van Lines they refused to let me speak to Eli, and said they would compare my original inventory list to the one Vanlines USA provided (because again, they are separate companies) and get back to me. Today is March 23rd and I still have not heard from them.
When giving Eli my estimate, I let him know that I had two TVs mounted. I asked if the movers would be able to help me take them down. He assured me they would; “My guys will have no problem helping. You’re a single woman so it won’t be a problem. It’s amazing how far a coke and a smile will get you.” Wrong. They charged me $90 to dismount the TVs.
Being that I had TVs, Eli recommended I buy a padded TV box from Home Depot. Apparently it’s the best for transportation. I spent the $35 on a box but the moves did not want to use it. Instead they used the boxes they provided and charged me $259 for packing materials.
When customer service called a week prior to moving they let me know that they have a walking fee. If the movers have to walk more than $100 feet you are charged $75 for every additional $100 feet. This was another surprise Eli did not mention. I was shocked and angry about this oversight because I lived on the third floor of a huge apartment building and I would’ve never agreed to that stipulation. I demanded to speak to Eli and this was his response; “Mel, have you seen a truck at your complex before? Good then you won’t have to pay that fee. If other trucks have done it we can to. Don’t pay attention to that. She’s new I will speak to her.” Lies! I paid over $400 for the “walking fee” at both apartments.
I know what you’re thinking; “why didn’t you take your business elsewhere??” I didn’t go with another company because I paid a $500 deposit that was non refundable the day of the move which is when I got hit with all the unexpected charges. I took my time to write this lengthy review because it is my duty to warn the public about these scammers. I wish someone had warned me about how shady they are. Avoid this company at all costs and run from anyone named Eli Shimoni. He has no problem telling a bold faced lie to get a sale.
Not to mention, the movers broke my $600 farm table and asked me to go buy gorilla glue so they could fix it. But I will leave that review on their page because it’s a different company.

The most pleasant experience was getting a quote. They appeared to be very professional and customer friendly. Everything after that was downhill. The dispatcher did not call to say when he was coming. I had to call and find out for myself. The driver was extremely rude and tried to charge me an additional $900 in fees because he said I doubled the cubic square feet that was in the estimate but he would not allow me to see how he packed the truck.I only had 3 more medium boxes than I estimated which should not have exceeded the allowed square footage and the estimate . He also tried to charge an additional $300 because he said he had to walk more than 150 feet from the moving truck to my apartment. I was moving from a one bedroom apartment for both locations. The driver also refused to leave his drivers license with the concierge to receive the key fob for the freight elevator, so he told me I would have to operate the elevator and wait for him to load and unload the elevator because he was not going to leave his license with anyone. Since I refused to pay the additional $900 in fees the movers left my final destination without assembling my bed. Charter Vanlines only offered to give me $30 for my inconvenience. Do yourself a huge favor and look for a better company that will not contract your move to rude and money hungry swindlers.

Used this company for my long distance move and the whole thing went great. The rep was very friendly and had a lot of advice for my move. He went over in detail all the steps that would take place and even sent me an email with all the necessary information.
The movers were as efficient as ever. They had the apartment empty in under an hour. I looked over an inventory list I was given to review and they hit the road. When they got to the new place another week later, they had everything unloaded and inside the new place just as quick.
This was a great move for me. The folks over at Charter Van Lines made the effort to get my things to me in the time frame I set up and it all worked out as such. I will definitely use them again if I move in the future.
