Unfortunately, like everyone else on this site, I found out Cashforlaptops was a scam too late. I didn't read any reviews until I had already placed my device in the mail and it was shipped off by USPS. If you're worried about not getting your device back or getting the money you want for it, please follow these steps!
1. Avoid at all costs, if you have not shipped already. Save yourself the trouble and just use another site or sell your device yourself. You'll be grateful in the end!
2. Log into their online system and keep updates of your device and the messages they send as their emails sometimes go to SPAM for no reason. You DO NOT want to lose any updates (emails) they send as this will cause you to lose your device.
Also, Newgistics is their return company and those people are TRASH! Another reason why you should avoid them! Read up on reviews of Newgistics shipping company.
3.READ READ READ their Terms & Conditions on their website. When they receive your device, you'll get an email that says Device Received, but wait until you receive the Device Inspected & Valued email. This is where they will LOWBALL the sh*t out of you! However, in their T&C's, you MUST CALL THEM WITHIN FIVE (5) DAYS! Remember this, CALL THEM, not email, CALL them to discuss the offer within FIVE (5) DAYS, actually MAKE IT FOUR (4) DAYS so they don't ignore your calls on the 5th... and this is NOT BUSINESS DAYS!
4. Once you call them, they will hassle you to let them keep the device and increase in price without any justification as to why they could not offer that price initially. This is where you can decide what is your selling threshold, do you take their increased price or not, it's up to you. HOWEVER, if you feel they are not making an effort you can DECLINE their final offer, and they MUST return your device in the same condition as sent according to their T&C's.
My Experience: I was quoted $881 for my Macbook Pro 13" Mid-2015 2.7 GHz laptop, which was a decent price. Comparable to those selling on eBay and worth sending it in for a quick sell, no hassle or so I thought. I received an offer of $136, WHAT THE H*LL!!! Thank goodness I had read previous reviews, so I knew to read their T&C's and patiently wait for my time to strike. I called them immediately the next day and the first lady already knew that I wanted to speak to the "Purchasing Department" without even asking. I was transferred to Melanie (the Purchasing Department) quickly and she tried to hassle me into keeping the device saying that is was "gently used" in certain locations. Well duh, this is what you quoted me for, a gently used device for $881. She placed me on hold for 5 minutes then came back and said "she checked other sites and their selling between $250-400, so we can offer you $450 which is a great price compared to other sites." Meanwhile, I'm on eBay seeing listings for $1200 so I know she's feeding me bull and calling it ice cream. I declined and she placed me on hold again, then came back and asked me what is my price? Again, no justification for the low ball offer, being able to increase my price, or reasons as to why she could give me my number. I told her $881, and she claims that is for new devices, sealed in the box, when their site says for used products. I told her $800 is the lowest I'll go and the highest she could do was $560. I asked for my device back and she processed my return. AGAIN, I don't see how you can go from $881 online to $136 to $450 to $560 with no justification or care. This goes to show they are truly trying to prey on people wanting to get money for their devices and scam them out of paying them the quoted offer.
I'll be getting my device back as I received the RETURN packaged email, although it was very condescending and threatening. One of the lines in the email is "You might be asking, "Will there be any further negotiations on my device?" Absolutely not! You have received our highest and best offer." Seems like they're mad they have to pay return shipping back to me, haha!
If you're looking for a good site to sell used laptops try using the eBay Valet program to sell it.

They quoted me a price of $165 each for two I Phone 5s. I received one check for $15. I would have preferred to give the phones to someone.

I sent in a 18 month old iPhone 5 and was quoted $120. The phone had a case, protective screen and worked perfectly. A received a check for $10 two weeks later and when I called to inquire they said phone had multiple problems and $10 was fair market value. When I requested to have phone back because I believe that are full of BS they stated I already passed some deadline and the phone was recycled. "Melanie" stated nothing they could do. This company is a scam!!!!!! Stay away!!!!!

Quoted me $280 for a nice laptop and, after they received it, sent me my "congratulations, your laptop has been inspected and accepted" and that I would be sent a check for $39. I asked them five times to return the laptop and each time that directed me to some 800 number. Even dealing with them through the BBB was tough. They finally told me that my laptop had entered their system and was unrecoverable. I didn't even get the $39 check.

I have sold laptops through the Internet before. Cashforlaptops quoted me over $150 for my 1 year old Toshiba laptop. I told them it was not functioning and would not turn on. I never got an email stating what they were going to give me after inspection. I received $53!! I called and they said they sent out an email regarding the amount, finally I found one email in my junk folder, and after that they said my phone has been recycled. This place is a scam. Don't sell your laptop to them for pennies.

I sent Cashforlaptops my ipad which was only two months old and in perfect condition. I was promised $150 for it. They sent me $80 and told me my phone has been recycled and gone. When I called them, I was able to talk to someone on the phone right away, who then quickly transferred me over the Purchasing Department. After patiently being on hold for about 10 minutes, I was told that I couldn’t request for my phone to be returned to me because it was past their 5 days grace period. They were able to jack up the price a little, but that was it. At least I didn’t have to wait forever to speak with someone! There’s some positivity! All I’d like to say is that you need to stay clear of cashforlaptops.

I was quoted $74.00 for my used phone by Cashforlaptops.com. I was informed in an email that I will be receiving a confirmation email following the inspection of my phone, which will also state the new offer price. Moreover, I was told that I had the ability to accept or reject that price and get my phone back if I wanted to. Then, one day out of the blue, I received an email saying that a payment had been processed and that it's on the way. Naturally, I assumed it was for the quoted $74.00 price or something close to that amount. I was shocked to receive a check today for $54.00.When I called, I was asked to stay on hold for a bit, then got transferred to the purchasing department. Luckily, my hold time was nothing like some of what the other reviewers have experienced. I was on hold for maybe 10 minutes, give or take a couple of minutes. I talked to the manager directly and requested her to send my phone back. She said that she can’t do anything about my phone as it has already been processed for recycling. By the end of it, I was left with no option, but to accept their offer. I would’ve been much happier if I had got my phone back.

Decided to send my blackberry 8520 curve to cashforlaptops.com as they offered me $97.00 for it. I thought this was a fair offer, the phone was only 8 months old it was in fantastic condition no scratches it had been cased the whole time! Was livid when they came back to me with a pathetic offer of $50.00 stating that the phone was very scratched and had no battery!!! The phone was in perfect condition i bubble wrapped it and the battery when i sent it.their terms and conditions state 5 days to contact purchasing department. I called them with in this period they offer me $15 more, i refused to accept their new offer, but they said we cant send your phone back. Eventually, i had no choice, but to accept their offer !
This company is a total disgrace... Do not use cashforlaptops.com!!!

Cash for laptops.com failed to give me the amount they initially quoted on their website. They quoted me $140 for my iphone 4s and ended up giving me a check for $63. Sadly, I only found out about it when I returned home from a weeklong business trip. Fortunately though, I was able to talk to get someone on the phone right away who then quickly transferred me over the Purchasing Department. After patiently being on hold for about 10 minutes, I was told that I couldn’t request for my phone to be returned to me because it was past their 5 days grace period. I was, however, able to get them to bump up my payment from $63 to $100. Do not lose hope if you’ve dealt with Cashforlaptops.com already! You can still call them and hopefully resolve the situation in your favor!

They offered $160 for my used laptop, so I sent it to them. Then, two weeks later, they sent me a revised offer of $100. No explanation was given whatsoever, despite the fact that my laptop was working perfectly fine and was in very good condition. I called their customer service, where I was put on hold for two minutes before getting transferred over to their purchasing department. The representative in the purchasing department gave me lots of excuses as to why they had revised the initially quoted amount. I knew the exact condition of my device when it was sent out. So, I argued with them to give me my device back! I was annoyed of this whole new quote thing. They refused to send me my laptop back, but gave me a counter offer for $125. I accepted that offer because my argument with them wasn’t exactly going places. Very unprofessional people.

Cashforlaptops has not given me the amount they initially quoted on their website. Cashforlaptops quoted me $150 for my HTC phone and after some days sent me a check for $95. I only found out about it when I came back home from a weeklong trip with my friends. Fortunately though, I was able to talk to someone on the phone right away who then quickly transferred me over the Purchasing Department of cashforlaptops. I was told that I couldn’t request for my phone to be returned because it was past their 5 days grace period. They offered me a hike of $5 for compensation. So I accepted their new offer. But still I am not satisfied, but I will give them an A for effort on their customer service.

Cashforlaptops gave me an amazing quote for my three month old Nokia phone online, then suddenly after some days they sent me an email regarding revised quote of my phone. The new quote was a little more than half of the previous quoted value. According to their terms and conditions I had only five days to request for my device be sent back to me. Then they insisted me to file my request via phone. I called Cashforlaptops to get my device back. Although, I got connected to a customer service representative in a short time, he said my phone’s screen was broken and was not working well. I am pretty sure that I sent my phone to them in very good condition. I have no idea how they could come up with something so ridiculous. Don’t believe everything they say!

I, like everyone else, have dealt with Cashforlaptops.com and feel unsatisfied with the service received. They quoted me $197 for my iphone 5C. After sending in my iphone, I received an email saying that after inspection, they would give me $140 for it. After emailing my rejection notice requesting for the phone to be returned, I did not receive an email until almost 2 days later. They informed me that I needed to call in, to either accept or reject this new offer. Of course, I called! Luckily, I was able to talk to someone in the purchasing department right away and not stay on hold forever. I’m guessing it had to do something with the time of the day I called. Either way! The woman informed me that my phone had already been recycled and went through a huge list of things that were "wrong" with my iphone that made the value drop almost 70%. Absolutely absurd!

After sending in two Nokia Phones, both in good condition, for which Cashforlaptops quoted me $160 in total, I got an email saying that they will pay me only $110. Without a doubt, I rejected their offensive offer and demanded my money back. I had to literally fight them for my phone and because I had called them within the 5 days as stated in their policy, I was able to get my phone back. They need to improve their customer service so that they don’t waste the customers time arguing over a device.

I was quoted $204 by Cash for laptops.com for my iphone 5 and then upon inspection, the quote was lowered to $108. I read the terms and conditions again and they say you have 3 days to either accept or reject the new price or have your device sent back to you. I called right away to avoid any delays. I rushed for no reason as the representative informed me that their new policies allow customers to call within 5 days as opposed to three. Good thing I called though, because I didn’t want to wait any longer to reject their terrible offer. Although I wasn’t able to completely reject their offer and get my phone back, I was able to negotiate with them to pay me $140 instead of $108. In the end, it was kind of worth it to go through the hassle of calling them, even if it meant an increase of just $32. Just be aware of the misleading language they use.

If I could rate it lower, I would. I shipped my Sony Laptop to them. My laptop was working perfectly. initially, they quoted me 150.00. After receiving my Laptop, they said they will pay me $65 instead of $150. That was so annoying!! I called their customer service immediately. Luckily, I got a really polite customer service person with whom I could discuss the price and bring it up to $125. I would have much rather preferred that they sent my phone back to me so I could sell it on eBay instead. But hey! I’ll take whatever came my way!

Cashforlaptops quoted $90.00 for my used Laptop. They informed me through an email that they will send me a confirmation email after my phone got inspected, Moreover, I was told that I had the freedom to accept or reject that price and get my laptop back if I wanted to. Then, after some days, I got an email stating that a payment had been processed. I was assuming it will be a check for $90.00 or something close to that amount. But I was shocked to receive a check for $54.00.I immediately called them, and my call was transferred to the purchasing department in a timely fashion. After sending in two iPhones that Cashforlaptops.com valued at almost $200, I received an email stating that I was only getting a combined $110 for both my iPhones. I immediately rejected the offer and demanded my money back. I'm still waiting for something to come of it. Really getting pissed, please someone help me to get my device back. They are liars.

I had a perfect iphone5c. Other websites said they would give me $70, but Cashforlaptops.com said $85, so I shipped it out to them. Then, I got an email saying that it is only worth $45. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THEM. They tell you a fake price to create your interest and then do not give that price to you. Their quote is WORTHLESS because they will not give you what they say. Stay away and stay protected.

I wanted to sell my Iphone 6 to cash for laptops.com, and the quote I received was $403. I mailed in my device, and I got an email saying 'your device was appraised to be $150, according to the market value!! I called the customer service, and was put on hold 5 times, a total of 2 hours of my life that I will never get back! Then, I finally talked to an agent, and she said my phone had a medium scratch on the screen and medium wear on the home button, but the $150 value was too low and she'd like to offer me $199. But, my phone was literally brand new, I just don't understand how they can simply refuse to mail my device back. I am very frustrated and deeply disturbed by how this company runs their business.!!! Seriously bad company stay away!!!!

Cashforlaptops offered me $83 for my laptop. After they received it, they said they weren't going to buy it at all and could "recycle it for me" and offered me a $30 gift card which they would add to my next purchase.
They completely lie in their advertising. They want to recycle my product and make money doing that paying me 50% or less. Avoid this company!!!!

Do not send your devices to Cashforlaptops. They quoted me a good price online but paid only half of it. I contacted them to request that my device be sent back to me. I was hesitant to make the call at first because of all the negative reviews I was reading online about long wait times. Luckily, in my case, that didn’t happen. I was connected with someone in the purchasing department within minutes. Hopefully, others will give their customer service a shot too. It is worth trying if you can get some extra money out of it. After a really long discussion with them, I was able to get my phone back. I almost feel like that is a once in a lifetime kind of a chance, but really guys! There’s nothing more to lose! Would you rather let them just take your electronic device or would you fight for it? It is your call!

It wasn't worth my time. If I could rate it lower, I would. I sent my Samsung Phone: working, no scratches, etc. to which they initially said 200.00. Cashforlaptops.com did send a shipping box fast enough. This should have been a warning sign! After receiving my phone, they said they are willing to pay me $95 instead of $200. Apple would have given me $100 more! Annoyed, I called the customer service rep. Fortunately, I got a really nice customer service person with whom I could negotiate the price and bring it up to $145. I would have much rather preferred that they sent my phone back to me so I could sell it at the apple store instead. I LEARNED MY LESSON in this very first time dealing with them. I will stay away from them in the future.

I used Cashforlaptop.com and they are a rip-off. They gave me a high quote, and then they took forever to get back to me. When they finally did, they had cut the price they quoted me in half. I was pissed because they had said that I could wait until after the new phone comes out, then send it in. By the time they got back to me with the lowball price change, it was too late to get a good price on Craigslist.
