As I have had no occasion to claim I cannot give a comprehensive assessment.

Took out motorcycle insurance and checked my details when the documents arrived by email, only to find so many of them were wrong, including the spelling of my name, details of my riding history, my riding qualifications. Called back to be told ‘we are using a new system which nobody here is trained on’ so I’d get a call back from someone later who was trained. Nobody called back. Called again several times but nobody could help. Eventually threatening to cancel meant I was transferred to someone who could change things. Took a long, long time. Doesn’t fill me with confidence they would be any better if I had to make a claim.

As always, extremely efficient and courteous service when I called to renew my classic bike policy. Excellent value premium again.

The auto renewal that I had in place failed and left me uninsured because of a new system at CN however, this was rectified and thankfully, no extra charges were levied. Lesson here; keep your phone records secure.

Been with Carole Nash for years, for motorcycle and classic and vintage car insurance. For some reason they can't email documents to me but instead send reams through the post, such a waste if paper. I've just renewed one insurance and i phoned to make the payment but their systems were not able to take payments at that time so they promised to phone by the renewal date to take payment. They did not so I had to phone the day after for them to say, you've gone past the renewal date. Still waiting for the documents one week after. Disappointing service this time.

A good service, pretty straight forward.

The increase in the premium for my Classic bike this year would have been unacceptable. However, when I added my modern bike to the policy it cost very little more and saved me nearly £200 on the modern bike renewal. Almost unbelievable!

As ever always helpful when renewal time was due and when I broke down a few weeks ago, the bike recovery service was top notch, one phone call and everything was sorted, it was nice to be able to track the recovery van, so I could wander off for a cup of tea and not worry about missing the van. Outstanding service and peace of mind. Been with Carole Nash now for many years, never felt the need to change.

Used Carole Nash for over a decade - always polite, knowledgable, helpful and patient - on this occasion their operative Cameron persevered with my phone’s appalling signal with remarkable determination - deserving of a pay rise, Xmas bonus and a pint!

I have been with Carole Nash for over 30 years. Never Again. Absolutely never again. At present I have a 6 wheeler policy which allows me to insure my 2 motorcycles and my car. My partner and I went over to Limoges in the middle of France to look at properties. Wet weather so we chose the car. After driving 1300 miles we were on our return, just 2kms from Le Havre ferry port and the car clutch suddenly and unexpectedly died. The car is in good condition and had a full service at a local garage before we set off. We thought we had full continental cover with Carole Nash, I'd seen this work in the past with the odd bike in our bike club, both rider and bike were repatriated, (by Carole Nash) no fuss. I rang up and was told there could be a 90 minute wait. Appallingly, I was also told my car would be taken to a local Le Havre garage, and I'd be put on the ferry as a foot passenger and sent home by train. My car would be mended in France and I would have to travel back to Le Havre (at my own expense) the following week to collect my car !!! Oh, and I'd have to pay storage charges too. What ! What if I had a dog with me? No car, no return for my pet. Pets stay in your car on the ferry, you can't just walk them on.... Jesus Wept. Worse, the French jobsworth working for Carole Nash lied to me. Oh Sir, we can't take you to the ferry to have your car repaired in Portsmouth, Brittany Ferries don't allow this. Absolute Bull*hit. I phoned the ferry and was told it was fine. The french guy and his mechanic stuck to their lie, and I had to argue forever before they eventually, reluctantly took me back to the ferry port. they also said there was no way they intended taking my car back home because (and I quote) It was too expensive for them! I said, Look, I'm an invalid, severe osteoarthritis everywhere, and worse, my daughter back in the UK is severely mentally handicapped and I'm told by respite care (the trip being too arduous for Suzanne) that she had fallen and was unwell. It was an absolute priority to get back that night. This all fell on deaf ears to Carole Nash. At the port, Brittany Ferries were brilliant and couldn't help me enough. The French guy rang a couple of times more, insisting I allowed my car to stay in France. No. We got off the ferry in Portsmouth in pouring rain and a guy with a low loader turned up. Hi, I've been sent to take your car to a local Portsmouth garage. Your going home on the train. I asked him to take me home with the car to Accrington. No can do he said. This was an emergency. I was completely focused on my sick daughter and she was leaving respite care that day at 3.30pm. I all but panicked. No help at all from Carole Nash, not even in an emergency. Going home on the train, I'd be lucky to get back that day and the car would still be 300 miles away. What could I do? OK, I'm mechanically orientated. I knew that in an emergency, with a dead clutch, I could put the car into gear and turn the key and it would fire up and run. It would jerk into life, but then carry on fine. You could even change gear if you were careful. That's all well and good unless you have to stop, and then all you can do is stall the car. Could I really drive a sick car without a clutch some 300 miles home, in monsoon rain and heavy traffic? How many stops and starts would that entail and how long would the cars battery and starter motor take such abuse? Long story and more stress in 24 hours than I've ever had in my entire life, but we got back shattered at 3.30pm that day. Julie said she was sure someone was looking after us. It certainly wasn't Carole Nash. One of their smart Alec solicitors will say it's all my fault and I should have read the fine print, but full European breakdown cover implies it's not demanded of me to abandon my car in France. Like I say, what if you have small kids with you or a beloved pet? If they won't pick me up even in the UK and take me and the car home, their breakdown cover isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I'm contacting the Insurance Ombudsman over the weekend because I was lied to in France. It was almost sinister, their insistence I abandon my car in France. Unreal. I won't ever be insured with Carole Nash again and if I were you I'd avoid them like the plague. I intend this morning to shop around to get real breakdown cover. All this happened yesterday 11/10/19 and we're still in shock. Please imagine yourself in the same predicament. You might have been in Spain or Portugal and like me, be told you must abandon your vehicle there, emergency or no emergency. Thanks for reading this. Regards Kevin Savage.

The worst possible customer experience with any insurance company! Cancelled my motorcycle insurance with Carol Nash last week as a result of their poor service and inability to answer a phone call with 20 minutes and was promised that confirmation would be sent in the post and proof of no claims would be sent out at the same time.
Fast forward to this week, confirmation of cancellation received, proof of no claims? Not received!
Just got off of a 45-minute phone call with the customer service rep who tried to convince me that I had never sent in my proof of no-claims to support my policy despite their own T&C's stating that if proof of no-claims is not supplied then a policy is cancelled. Therefore Carol Nash refuses to issue a proof of no- claims bonus unless I can find one from a previous insurer 3 years ago.
Never again will I use this insurer, very very poor service.

Insured with carol Nash. Had an accident and they use 4th dimension. This is a horrific company to have deal with any claim. They collect your bike and treat it in an appalling manner all in the hope they can get more storage money from the third party. They don’t answer calls and eventually I got the bike back to sort myself. They don’t correspond with the third parties and lie about it. carol Nash legal services are a complete joke. Had 3 different case workers. You can’t call them as the phone just disconnects. If you email you get no response. Now we are stuck dealing with the third party insurance ourselves. Leaving us frustrated and stressed. Never again will I use carol Nash. Should have been straight forward claim as third party admitted full liability.

Like all bike and car insurance companies I have dealt with they are chancers. They provide you with a high renewal quote in the hope you will just accept it. I did my research online for similar cover and then took Carole Nash to task over the phone. They dropped the price by nearly a third and lowered the excess to match my best quote. Its such a shame that a company with such a strong history and reputation in the biker world is now acting in this way. The fact is you can't trust any of them to find you the best deal, you need to do it yourself every time.
