My wife and I went on the Carnival Legend, for the 30th anniversary of Bare necessities nude cruise. The hell we paid to have my certifided medical alert dog go on was just the beginning. After that was taken care of, they placed a hold on myself and my dog until we had given them all paperwork. Then our cabin was in the bow and his 4+4 relief area was in the Stern and two decks down. While onboard witnessed food being prepared without sanitary gloves on while pounding out pizza dough. Three separate occasions. My wife a chef(retired) mentioned it to the supervisor and nothing was ever done. The food was subpar of what you would expect. No soup, or lite options. Also the times when the various venues served were inconvenient. And most of the day the only thing available is pizza. On the fifth day they served a celebration meal at midnight I ate the roasted corn and black bean salad for which I got food poisoning from. I spent my Friday in the cabin running literally to the toilet. I felt a little bit better on Sat morning so told guest services about it they sent me to medical who promptly confined me to my cabin until we docked at Tampa on Sunday morning. I was banned from the dinning room and the coffee shop. Then given broth crackers a banana and tea all wrapped in a red biohazard bag. Plus the ship doesn't sell Pepto or Imodium. Then to add insult to injury they gave me a 22.91 voucher for a future cruise with carnival. Hell as a former United States Navy Petty Officer I've had better meals and time while at war on a nuclear carrier. And carnival could only day I'm sorry. Well sorry doesn't get mey two days back.

Our cruise with Splendor was to start Sept. 7, 2019 leaving Long Beach. Our booking number is 9JSW80...Our original cruise was planned for May, but we got a letter saying it needed to be changed immediately and September was about all that was left. Our names are Dale and Margaret Drumheiser. On August 7th my husband had esophagus and hiatal surgery. We were told the time for recovery would be around two weeks. Unfortunately, after all this time he is still on a liquid/soft diet. This has caused a lot of extra stress figuring out meals, back to the surgeon for testing to rule out a bacterial infection from possibly staying in the hospital over night, and trying to maintain a job as I have cared for my husband. We are on a limited income, since my husband is retired.
We were still going to try to make this trip happen even with pureed food on the ship. We have traveled a lot and are aware of the importance of our passports, but with all the extra stress caused by my husband's condition, we left home with out them. We live one and a half hours away from Long Beach and were not able to go back and get them. We would like to know if a credit could be given to us or a refund, so we can reschedule when my husband is able to fully enjoy this trip. We are sorry for the inconvenience to you, but in light of this mess, we would like you to seriously consider our request. We have traveled with Carnival several times and plan to continue in the future. Our e-mail address is: [email protected] Respectfully,
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Drumheiser
This was sent Sept.9, 2019....
two days after our cruise left. I am resending this again on Sept. 28, 2019 because on Sept. 18th we received a letter from Carnival about a refund that would go back into our banking accountant. We waited 9 days to see if that would happen, and when nothing happened, we called Carnival. They said they could not find either our letter or their response...So in good faith, we are resubmitting this letter and wait for your response.

We were do to Sail on the Valor on 9-9-19 8TNG16. Upon arrival we were told my boyfriend had the wrong I.D. and brought to the side where I watched the lady walk to the corner and say something to 4 ladies in the corner, come back and continue to check people in. The 4 ladies just continued to talk amongst themselves. We waited a good 20-30 minutes and still nobody came to help us and we had to ask again to be helped. The same lady walked over to the same 4 ladies, said something. We continued to wait another 10 minutes before one of the 4 ladies came over and brought us upstairs to customs. Again we were told that my boyfriend didn't have proper I.D. and were handed a piece of paper with the # of who to call from our state. He called the # and was put through our Secretary of State, and talked with Terri. Terri informed him in their records he had an enhanced I.D. and they sent him the wrong one. She talked to the customs agent and explained it was a mistake on their end, and asked what she needed to do to get us on the ship. Terri was told they needed his birth certificate faxed to them within 10 minutes. As we were being escorted out Terri called and said she just faxed the birth certificate. They wouldn't let us back upstairs nor would they help us in any way other than handing us a card with Carnivals #. We called and asked if we could get a shuttle, since the ship would be in the Mississippi for hours and the documents were literally in the fax machine upstairs. We were also told we had more time because 15 people were on a delayed flight. Carnival told us our only option was to meet the ship in Mexico, but we needed the ship's permission to board. We said yes, please let us know what we need to do, we were traveling with at least 14 other family members for 3 birthdays. This was Monday at 4p.m. We needed to be in Cozumel by 4p.m. Wednesday. We were never contacted by Carnival until Tuesday afternoon, after calling them several times. My boyfriends parents were on the ship talking to customer service. We were told we had permission to board the ship in Mexico as long as we had our passports, which at this point the Passport place in New Orleans was already closed. I talked to the lead department at Carnival today and was actually told we were never given permission to board in Mexico, but was we were, I talked to them myself and talked with an Erica. We feel Carnival and the customs department dropped the ball at several different times. We missed something that we never will get back. Not only was this a huge disappointment for my boyfriend and I, but his entire family on the ship. We feel like we should be compensated in some way, at minimum vouchers. When I talked with the lead department today we were denied and given this site to write a complaint. We feel this could of all been avoided had we were brought to customs right away instead of waiting 45 minutes, at the bare minimum a shuttle to the boat while in the river since we had the proper documents before the ship even left. They left us stranded in a place we don't know and literally shut the doors on us. It was an absolutely devastating experience. I wouldn't recommend this cruise line to anyone, ever.

I booked a Reservation on the sunshine cruise for March 2020. I canceled my reservation in April and the itinerary changed and May 2019. I called to get a refund of my $100 deposit and was told I am not able to get a refund. A good customer service would have given me my refund. This really makes me want to cruise with carnival in the future NOT!! Although $100 is not a lot of money I will not book with carnival in the future. Royal Caribbean here I come. Hopefully carnival will do the right thing and refund me my money.

Seven six day cruise from Tampa - Grand Cayman - Roatan - Beleize - Cozumel - Tampa
Miracle - It's a miracle this thing is allowed to operate. This rust bucket of a boat shout be taken to the Mariana Trench and scuttled along with the crew. I have never had a more miserable disgusting experience in my entire life. But then again if you want a truly horrible experience with nasty crew, slop for food (brought some home for the dogs - they declined to eat it), a cess pool of bacteria in your cabin, fighting every day to try and get some miserable scraps to eat and being treated like a child, herded like sheep, talked down to and treated like a second class citizen, then this is the cruise for you.
Carnival - what a joke - are you guys serious. Our cruise got cut a day short due to weather conditions that never materialized. Not only did they have the audacity to cancel for reasons still oblivious to the some 2000 poor souls on board, but you also had the deceitfulness to try and tell us that it was for our own safety - Answer 1 simple question - How is dumping 2000 people in a port with no available hotels, flights all booked up, gas stations running out of gas and in the path of a hurricane, safe???? At this time we where 1500 miles away from the hurricane and heading to Cozumel. No - here's an idea, lets steam into Tampa, ruin everyone's cruise, keep everyone on board like prisoners for several hours at the dock and then rush them off and tell them it's their fault. Hurry and get the next passengers on board and steam right back to where we started. That way we can make more money - That's what it's about - The money. Maybe we weren't spending enough or running out, so you thought the next cruise would have fuller wallets. The captain and his cronies decided to have a Q & A session in the Phantom Theatre to sell this idea and avoid a mutiny. Lots of Q's and very little A's. Now there's a surprise. Where did they dig this captain up from? Davy Jones' Locker maybe? Personally I think he was the guy at the ice cream stand in Belize who was coshed on the back of the head and press ganged into joining Carnival 50 years ago. Is keel-hauling still done today? - I think I know candidate. Well at least that gave the Captain and his cronies the excuse to run and hide and never be seen for the next 2 days. Did they help anybody make arrangements - Offer free 'wifi' for people to make arrangements or provide any form of assurance - I'll tell you tomorrow - at least that's what they said... And as for Frankie the cruise director, he needs to go back to HSN at a 2.00am in the morning slot selling kitchenware to anyone who is drunk enough to use their credit card (Boop).
Guest Services (Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here) - Are you rude, obnoxious, un-empathetic, love blaming others and offer no assistance to anyone apart from using the all too familiar Carnival line, "It's your own fault", then get a job here. You will fit in perfectly. Personally I wouldn't allow these people to look after my cat. Still it made good entertainment. I didn't realize there were so many excuses for incompetence. Ask for Ivanka, and have the ultimate experience in Serbian Customer Service - It's a hoot.
Horiatio's Lido Cafe - Yep the one arm chef put his telescope to his blind eye and declared "I see no hordes of hungry passengers" This place should be condemned. Imagine a herd of hungry bison stampeding around the deck, pushing and shoving and loading enormous amounts of food (and I use that term loosely) on their plates so they can feed their hungry offspring. That's breakfast. As soon as they dole out the slop, the unwashed masses come charging. Belize is in the top ten countries of the world for homicide and the 41% of the people live below the poverty line, and it was still a more pleasant and safer experience to eat there rather than this gutter boat.
Bacchus Dining Room - OMG Looks like this place was decorated by 'Ester Extraordinaire' on crack. What a horrendous assault on the eyeballs. I had to take pictures and send them to my friends all over the world -They'll still be laughing when we have the second coming of Christ!. Look I thought, decent food, a decent menu, something that tastes better then licking the mould off my shower curtain. Unfortunately duped again. Small gelatinous cold blobs on a plate. A very long wait between blobs and the usual suspects trying to ruin a hopefully peaceful dinner by shoving overpriced alcohol shots down your throat and endless photographers trying to make a quick buck by snapping photographs every 5 minutes. Looks like it's back to Horatio's to wade among the bison and wait for a crusty pizza (again) without parmesan cheese because "We don't have any"
Drinks Package - Don't bother, there's only so many ways to flavour water these days. That won't stop waiters trying to push cocktails down your throat every five minutes even when you don't drink or clearly look underage. Yes folks I seen it happen on several occasions and waiters do accept cash from teens.
Entertainment - There was the sound of cats fighting with baboons in the Atrium one day - Found out this was the string section trying to hash out something that a first grade high school band could perform better. Or maybe they were practicing "Abide with me" for when the ship goes down.
Cabin Staff - Don't let the maid into your cabin. By don't I mean 'barricade the door' because even when you shout, "I'm in the shower" "I'm naked" "Don't come in" several times she will still keep knocking then use her pass key to break in anyway. I swear she puts an extra layer of filth around the shower everytime she comes in.
Dr Frankenstein's Nite-club - Went there once, left after the first fight/riot and decided not to come back for the rest of the entertainment. Maybe I should have stayed and placed bets. I did see a lady who resembled something like a small moose, who seemed to be winning. Would probably have had better odds than the rigged casino.
High points - Getting off the boat and away from Carnival for the few hours each day that we could. Knowing that even if we built a small raft and paddled to Cuba nothing could ever be as bad as this cruise again. After all the only way from rock bottom is up.
Low points - Anything to do with Carnival or the 'ship of the damned' called Miracle. Getting 2 bags destroyed by giving them to the porters, having stuff stolen from our luggage, having stuff stolen from our cabin. Being blamed for everything that was out if our control.
My Advice - Stay away from Carnival. I won't hold my breath waiting for any form of compensation. This company doesn't care what happens. They only care about how much money they can fraudulently gain from your wallet without fear of repercussion or reprisal. If one person reads this and decides not to spend their hard earned money with them I will feel happy I have helped someone avoid the misery that lies before them if they sail this gutter boat with this gutter company.

I was almost ready to go on my cruise to Cozumel and yucatan. When I got a text from my sister-in-law saying my brother was in the final stages of his cancer and the Dr. Said we needed to get there as soon as we could. Called Carnival to see if I could get a later date under these circumstances and was told that Yes they would put the 161.04 on another cruise for me and my sister.I paid 1213.04.and only getting 161.04. My brother is dying and he can go anytime. I wasn't asking for my money back just a later date.

My brother died in December 2018 and l was traumatized and grieving his loss. My birthday was at the end of December and l needed a getaway. We flew to Orlando for 3 day cruise and got to the ship 5 minutes late because FRONTIER AIRLINES was hours late, we were advised by Carnival supervisor ANDREA that she would get us on, and customs was still standing and the ship was still there 1.30 hours later, but we were REFUSED ADMITTANCE. They were heartless, callous, cruel, no apathy was shown at all at the ship and their Poc Exec DELORES LONG, was Heartless as well & told us to stop writing. We spent $1,560 and World Travel and AON Protection sucks as well, we did NOT get a full reimbursement back. The Executive team has NO compassion even w documentation in their face. We were stranded, had to pay for a hotel, new flight, $120 for the shuttle just to turn back in 10 minutes, it was a NIGHTMARE, that l am still living.
We will NOT use the CARNIVAL CRUISE,
they want the money, but are not HUMANE.

The fact remains we filled out everything they asked, because millions respond to being constantly harrassed by robo calls, now lawsuit folks claim there were folks fraudulent ? Idiots we are frauds! They made calls and you can't get pasted through without claim number? In other words, I placed my friend's numbers, mine and only one of my 30 something numbers were given claim numbers , my husband's and Janice Debnam. How dare they back out of due process, please help us retrieve what is due to William Hollins and Janice Debnam. I'll gladly provide you with claim numbers.

This is the third carnival ship to have some mold in the shower, overall this ship is thoroughly outdate and in poor shape.worst ship i have been on.wasnt enough activities to do.

In taking a Cruise for the 1st time as a Birthday trip for my best friend and myself in celebrating our February Birthdays, it is a nightmare. Supposed to depart 2/10/19 to 2/14/19 4 day Mexico Cruise. We missed check in time, due to misinformation on Carnival Imagination Representatives for Booking#6DZB54, and the Travel Agency that books and takes your money on behalf of Carnival Cruises not being in sync in time in which is cut off time in getting there. Which should not be my fault however; Itinerary still fails to state cut off time and although we arrived well by time Travel Agency gives of at least an hour before departure time, Carnival had a different cut time(you have NO idea they aren't on same page with this important piece of information) Carnival Cruise will not assist YOU ,NOR REFUND YOUR MONEY!! They are NOT willing to offer a solution, even when begging to have luggage checked in and we will meet ship at next port, was told NO, you missed check in YOU just have to buy another cruise if you want to sail?!? There were OTHER customers standing there obviously given same misinformation 8 other people is NOT a coincidence, it's a Customer Service problem in which Carnival Cruise doesn't care about resolving. It's awful that they are NOT caring or empathic to customers and are Rude, greedy and bad Company. Travel protection means NOTHING, they will not refund my money and after this experience I will stick to flying as potential cruise turned into heartbreaking sad experience.

We went on the victory march 31- April 3. The ship was dirty! The food was terrible, the staff never asked if we need anything at the pool. My husband had to get our drinks every time... we went to play golf and there were dirty glasses that looked like they had been there for days. At captains night the table beside us were under dressed and were loud( using bad words). Th staff was also rude. We go on a lot of trips but by far this one was the worst. I hope that carnival would try to make us happy,

I have been on 9 cruises, 7 of them were on Carnival. My most recent was on the Vista. We got an RV so it has been a while and as soon as we got on the ship I realized how much I missed it. The ship is beautiful, the food is amazing and the people are incredible. I've been on a romantic cruise with just me and my hubby, I've been on family a cruise with our two kids, and I've been on a cruise with a group of 88 people. No matter what kind of vacation, Carnival exceeded our expectations every time.

To whom it may concern, my name is Randal Ayers and I booked a 3 day cruise to esenada on the imagination carnival cruises.departing on 9/7/2017 at 5:30pm ad returning 9/10/20/2017 at 7:30am.. Well on the the day we we're suppose to leave, we we're in formed by the boarding agent's supervisor, "Joseph Grimaldi", that my step-daughter who is 4months pregnant was denied and couldn't sail because of the zika virus/ liability policy that carnival cruise lines has acknowledged. So we we're unable to sail with them as a family, therefore i am asking for a refund/ reimbursement of the $2077.00 dollars that I am out of because of the issues which I was not informed of nor aware when I booked this reservation through carnival cruises.. I never registered with the carnival on line and I was never informed by the carnival booking agent Mr. Cameron Warrick (800) 819-3902 ext.82841 Now my booking numbers we're for 2 cabins. Rm229 #8KT8Z3. And Rm233 #8KT9B8. The boarding agent supervisor, Mr. Joseph Grimaldi, informed me to contact the guest care department for refund, for the cost of my trip. If I was informed of the pregnancy policy and the zika virus in Mexico as well as filling out the online registration, I would of been prepared. But I was not aware of these issues nor was I informed at the time of making these booking reservation.... I'm expecting a quick and resolving conclusion with this matter.. Thank you so very much.. Our son and future daughter in law originally had planned a wedding/cruise and when my wife and I along with my son and family tried to book a room for each online, it did not go through. Then we had to "Call" carnival and booked our rooms. I had used my debt card to place the deposit for both rooms and waited for the confirmation via email. After checking and waiting, my account did not reflect any amount being deducted for the rooms, Mind you, I had place $1,000.00 deposit for both rooms and then a second call had to be made and then finally carnival took all the information again and told us that if in the event we needed to cancel, we had until June 12th to pay off the rest of the bill or cancel. Due to family health matters, we found ourselves in a bind and realized that we could not take this cruise and called on April 20th and had to cancel both rooms. Carnival stated that there was a $50.00 per person for cancellation, which I can understand, however, carnival had said that they were deducting an additional amount to be applied as credit for our next booking if we did this within 2 years of this date. Now, my son has 3 for his room which cost $150,00 for the cancellation and kept $ 225.00 as credit to be applied along with charging my room at $100.00 for cancellation fee and also additional $150.00 credit to be applied to our next booking.
At this point we are not able to even plan a cruise in 2 years, when we don't even know what tomorrow brings since we had some family health matters and I am being ripped off $375.00 ( 225.00 plus 150.00 credit). My booking number is 6mb5z4. My daughter in law, Vanessa had to make the calls on my behalf since I am deaf and cannot hear on the phone.
By forcing us to render a credit for both rooms, has me not wanting to use carnival for a cruise in the future, if that happens. I want my proper refund and who should I be addressing this to? You can send any replies to an email under the booking number supplied above.

We have been on 42 cruises and 19 of them have been on Carnival. We have great memories with Carnival.....traveling with friends and traveling with our children thru the years when they were young and now grown with families of their own. We experienced Carnival when it was at its height of popularity. The boats were unique with larger than usual rooms in the industry. The food was delicious and abundant; the entertainment was fun and varied, their casinos huge. Fast forward......we rarely choose Carnival and now probably wouldn't even consider it as an option. We began to see a decline in the ships as they aged. it appeared Carnival had their best staff on the newer ships and better leadership......so we began to only sail on Carnival on their new ships.....now even that doesn't offer a good experience. A few years ago we went on the Breeze s(a new ship) and had a great experience! We thought maybe we would go back to Carnival more...but not any longer. We went on the Carnival Vista last month with a family of seven.....included were 3 children ages 1 to 9. First the good things.....the entertainment....which included evening musicals and Dr Seuss character breakfast were all outstanding! The Cruise Director was named Matt. Out of 42 cruises, he wins the award by far of the best one we have ever sailed with. He was everywhere and led everything, He started the sailing with dancing and music at the pool area. Young and old on 3 full decks looking down joined in. It was by far the best sailing ever. Most people just went to the decks to watch the boat leave port, but ended up dancing, laughing and smiling. Last, our cabin steward did a great job....but unfortunately, we were told by him that there were cutting the staff (keep in mind this is a full boat) and each team of 2 stewards would now be responsible for 32 rooms. I can imagine the Norwalk Virus will be an unwelcome effect from this cut back. It gets worse from here on.... As a family, we dress and attend the main dining room. The food was poor, the wait staff just seemed to be going thru the motions....and not very well. One might think we would develop a rapport with waiters since we were there every night....you would think. They made no attempt to connect with us nor the children. Our children are used to dinners out and are well behaved and stay seated from start to finish. They have had great staff over the years but this staff confused them.....they wouldn't really talk to the children at all nor did they try to tailor service to accommodate their age group. Next......THERE WAS NO BAR SERVICE!! If we wanted a drink we had to find a bar on the way to dinner to get a drink to bring with us. I tried to get have our waiter get me a glass of wine....but I got it when I was having dessert. Also, bar waiters POOLSIDE were hard to find...we saw 3 our entire week! We had to go up to the bar ourselves. I don't know if this is the result of people buying the drink packages and Carnival wants to avoid having the liquor available or what the issue is. is a self service draft beer where you have to swipe your card and pour up your own draft. It seems they have cut back their staff at lido buffet too......tables are full of dirty dishes and tables going out to the pool area are especially dirty. The staff seem dulled and lead me to conclude they are less than happy at their jobs. I know times have changed...heck, years ago there was a nightly midnight buffet night.....then only one every cruise......then, a buffet luncheon once a cruise.....now nothing. Room service was available free 24 hours with the full menu....now menu decreased after eight and there is now a service charge after 11! Lastly...., The casino......they have a non smoking section.....which means nothing. The smoke is so thick and floats into the main dining room. It smells like an overfull ashtray. I was a smoker for 35 years but this is ridiculous. It's the only cruise line that I am aware of that still allows smoking in the casino......so I think possibly smokers choose this line because there is still smoking........and there is ALOT of smoke! It's difficult to demonstrate the decline of this cruse line but I hope I was able to portray some of the issues........one last tidbit.....it probably seems small to most but.....my granddaughters look forward to finding a chocolate on their pillow every night.......and as you may have guessed by now....they were disappointed.

In regards to booking #1KV9N9, our flight to Miami from Denver was cancelled by American Airlines on Thursday, October 6, 2016, due to Hurricane Matthew. We were due to fly out of Denver on Friday, October 7th and then board the ship on Saturday, the 8th. We had no way to get there to board the ship, as we could not book another flight. Carnival's only solution to the issue is to only offer another cruise within 2 years from this one...no refund because we couldn't get there to take this cruise...they did refund the sales tax for the trip but also charged us a $100 cancellation fee at the same time (slap in the face!). We have been asked to state our issue on this review and also attach a copy of our airline cancellation.
