Easycar have been closed to new business for three days so I doubt they'll mind me mentioning other P2P car companies.
I am an owner on Easycar and HIycar.
Easycar's app does not take photos of the car's condition; other P2P car hire software photographs it each time and keeps a copy.
Easycar's remote-control instant booking system uses Nu-set remote control padlocks. They are meant to be controlled by staff at the Easycar office, but reviews of Nuset locks say that they are fiddly to use on both sides; fiddly for the person who sends a code and fiddly for the person who recieves one and has to open the lock. Reviews also say that the locks are unreliable and that's what I found; one of them simply stopped working at all while a customer hoped to get the only key. Eventually I opened it by hitting the hinge with a sledgehammer, Meanwhile Easycar offered the customer a refund but no help finding another car at short notice in an area where they could have done so. To give them credit, Easycar do offer these locks free but I stopped using mine anyway.
Easycar asks renters and owners to sort things out between each other as much as possible and charges £10 for getting involved. Hiyacar does not raise expectations so much; it has no phone number, but when involved I find that they act for free and take time to understand the best solution.

Terrible experience. Their pricing policy is not transparent and not comparable to other standard car rental companies. Their customer service is poor and self-righteous. The fine print of their T's & C's include hidden costs which can easily take the prices well over other reputable rental car companies where you get a newer car with fewer issues and far better customer service.

Just went to book a car rental for Barcelona, the price seemed good, I chose not to buy the additional insurance they offered, and then went on to book the car and site said "this car is no longer available", fully booked etc
I then switched to another browser session (Internet Explorer rather than Chrome to ensure the site didn't remember my preview booking attempt and considered me a new user), then I went through the process again but chose this time to buy their insurance. Lo and behold the car was now available to book and I reached the payment page.
This is false advertising, will be reporting it to relevant authorities as such.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!
My vehicle broke down without warning and it took 24 hours for it to be recovered. The passengers were put up in a hotel overnight and made to wait the entire next day to be collected even though they were only 1 hour from the car's home.
Customer Services were not interested in the slightest and didn't assist at all in making the matter less stressful or uncomfortable. They just made it much worse with a lot of attitude and snappy comments. Can you imagine how they would behave if you were involved in a crash ? I shudder to think and thank goodness I am no longer involved with this irresponsible and callous organisation.
I was a valued customer and used them a number of times, but once something goes wrong they completely leave you in the lurch. This is not the mark of a reputable company and I would not trust them ever again with the business of renting a car. You'll regret it.

Customer service answer the phone like they do not want to be there. Total rudeness and for no apparent reason. Short and sharp answers to basic questions again, as if they want you off the phone as soon as possible. I have a brand new Mercedes SLC AMG and tried to register, put all car details in to be told Admiral would not insure it and customer service could not tell me why. Kind of silly when I now have it on another sit (Hiyacar) and it is renting out like nobodys business. Their loss

Easycar club is not easy.
1. Their app doesn't let you know when messages arrive.
2. Payments to owners are delayed with no dates provided.
3. In the unlikely event of minor disputes, they want you to "deal directly with the renter"
4. In the event of an accident, they want you to deal with the insurers directly, without any support. Insurers are - as is common knowledge - always trying to find a reason not to pay. Easycar will side with the insurer as doing otherwise will increase their premiums.
5. Customer service works on a 5 day a week shift with only limited service on weekends. So if you had an incident on the weekend, you can't do anything about it till Monday.

This is the feedback I left on easycarclub website - but it was removed by the company. Says it all about how seriously they treat customers.
"Wake up on Saturday morning to no car, no contact, and no refund in my account. The only thing I got is a lame email at 4am - just hours before the start of the trip. Getting stuck on a Saturday morning forced to make alternative travel arrangements to a wedding for the whole family is not a great experience! Avoid this car club member, and avoid easycar for important events!"
