The salespeople tell you different things while the paperwork you receive later on says a different story. When you pin them on it, they make excuses. My advice would be to read every word before you commit anything. They present a fake and too rosy picture.

This is a good company to do business with. Everyone has good product knowledge and they have really good customer service. I will stick with them even tough other companies are always trying to drag me away!

Unbelievably bad company to deal with. Had Deluxe coverage but only paid half of claim after not even being able to find me in their system. Spent hours on the phone dickering over parts and labor and was put on hold for ever!!! My repair shop was so frustrated he was ready to not deal with it at all and I really need my car. Total waste of money. Salesman came on so bumper to bumper coverage, I thought I’d never have to worry and here I’ve spent a miserable two days on hold and still have another $1000 of expenses I have to pay! What a horrific company to deal with. My Mercedes S63 AMG blew a piston at 89,000 miles. CarChex will not approve the full repair bill as they are stating that since I used the policy previously the policy has exceeded my limits. I have read through my documents and I see no actual dollar amount as a limit. They are saying they are basing the limit on the trade in value at the time the vehicle broke down less the amount of the previous repairs they have made on the vehicle. No where in the contract does it say they are going to reduce the coverage amount of previous repairs. Based on their decision today I have to come out of pocket several thousands of dollars to fix a vehicle that I paid for a Titanium Warranty on. They also said I will no longer be covered even though my policy does not expire till February 2020. The dealership can replace the engine with an AMG engine with 20,000 fewer miles on it and I would not have to pay anything out of pocket except my deductible however CarChex will not let them put that engine in the car they are making them put in an engine with more miles than my vehicle has on it and cause me to come out of pocket for the repair.
WHAT A RIP OFF THIS COMPANY IS!!

Premium insurance price for less than standard service. It's really frustrating that the process of claiming takes too long, there's a lot of requirements needed before they consider your claims. Too much back and forth and passing around from departments to departments. You don't really know who to talk to. So much time wasted here.

First off let me say, before the negative or positive review, I 100% am a legit client with a legit concern. I have a 2003 Sl500 MB. I called to review warranties that could be of help. Ive heard and experienced all the terrible stories of aftermarket warranty companies finding every way they can not to cover your car, but carchex had so many great reviews, I gave them a shot.
I got someone on the line that sounded knowledgeable and what I felt understood my car. This car has certain things on it known to fail that 99% of cars on the road do not have. I explained this up front. The salesman even knew parts on my car that i didnt mentioned, so I felt i was in great hands. I went with a fair higher warranty program 4500$. I was gonna pay in full but THANK GOD I didnt. The salesman suggested, why not do payments. Sounds good to me...
This is were my stars end.... I brought my car in for an issues with the suspension... The suspension is tied together with hyronaumatic lines if ANY part of the suspension is faulty, the car is rendered unsafe to drive... NOT COVERED apparently.
Next my euro dealer suggested fix mounts/ rear gasket seal. NOT COVERED.
Next suspension line on sturt went out.. NOT COVERED.
Final straw: The rear trunk latch went bad, it controls the trunk and convertible top.... NOT COVERED
So 7k later out of pocket, the only thing they did cover was a window regulator (whew.. saved 1700$)
All in all the warranty which i was told, would specially cover the parts on THIS MODEL CAR.. was not infact covered. Now good news we they handled a couple payments for me.. But that doesnt even scratch 7k... I would NOT suggest this company if you have an type of specialty car.. Spend the extra and go to your dealer.. Which i hate to say...
They are polite, but 100% lied to me out right in the start.

Just got off the phone with a rep for a quote. I don't doubt the actual warranty may be good coverage-wise, but I know cars, finance and the industry well, and the incorrect info or spin on facts given by the sales rep once I push back gives me a negative view of this company. I gave 2 (later 3) stars because I believe if someone buys this overpriced warranty, it will be a good one, but they have bought it after being coerced with poor information and probably overpaid. Edit: I've updated to 3 stars after a manager followed up to apologize for the sales rep's incorrect info.

I purchased warranty in December 2018. Took to ASA mechanic. the mechanic discovered a worn chain tensioner. But Royal Administrators / Car Chex wanted me to pay for the tear down prior to approval of repair. They then would decide if it would be approved. This would have been $1000 job just for the tear down.
When you talk to the sales agent they describe the process as: 1. take it to approved repair shop. 2. Have them call for authorization, 3.have engine repaired, 4. pay deductable $100.00.
That is not how it works. They have all kinds of language in contract to provide loopholes to allow them to avoid payment. they want you to pay for diagnostic work and then they decide if you have met all other obligations.
Adjuster was aggressive with me on phone. He wanted to recite the contract. I am not a lawyer so that was pointless.
He quoted the milage of the car. Hello! they knew the mileage when I bought the contract. Car Chex is a broker for several warranty companies. I think they do it so they can avoid actual responsibility for their poor service.

Won't give you a quote without requiring your personal information. Phone and Email. Why would I give this out before I decide to do business with anyone. You can expect a flood of emails and annoying phone calls if you give this up for sure. In response to their reply I did try to chat with them and they refused to help me unless I Provided my phone number.

This company has very poor customer service. I wanted to file a claim with them and had to wait for thirty minutes on hold. The customer support person was rude and ended up asking questions that I was not able to answer. I did not find value for my money through all the frustration I had to go through and decided to work with a different company.

Wait time to talk to someone is ridiculously long, I was on hold for almost an hour. This happened several times. Repair shop couldn't stay on that long and had to hang up. Wish I hadn't gotten this company. Very disappointed. Won't recommend them to anyone.,.

The truck was in Florida and I was in NC, therefore, I used Carchex for a pre-purchase inspection. I was extremely satisfied with the report and the thorough job the technician did! After I purchased the Silver Plan I was notified that a technician was assigned to my case. This took a couple of days. The technician called the seller and setup an appointment time. Once there he took 74 high quality pics and gave brief explanations for items that required more than a "checked box". Also, while being the passenger (insurance wouldn't allow him to drive) he noted anything of interest during the road test . Needless, to say I am very satisfied with the end result.

We purchased a warranty from Carchex in good faith after spending hours in total on the phone discussing our needs with 2 different reps. We wanted to be sure our car would be covered for major repairs. The engine on our car blew and we just knew that it would be covered (nevermind the fact that 3 other claims for other repairs had been turned down by Carchex). Much to our dismay Carchex denied the claim because the engine did not die "in the way the contract stated it should in order to be covered".Never heard of anything like this! Called Carchex to resolve problem was placed on hold for over an hour and transferred a least 6 times. Kept calling back but same thing kept happenning. Tried to reach a Manager but never did. Will be posting this review on all the sites I can because I don't want to see this happen to other consumers...especially Senior Citizens who can not afford this type of treatment . Truly fustrating. Registered a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well..PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH WHEN LOOKING FOR A WARRANTY COMPANY OR YOU MAY END UP LIKE US ...BAD WARRANTY COMPANY....NO CAR !! We will be posting this review to other sites to help warn other consumers.

I would say 4 stars. Their web site says to use ASE mechanic shops, but when you look up a shop they only have like 9 shops within 75 mile radius of the city.
My a/c went out, the shop said that I need to leave the car and Car Chex would send an inspector within 48 hours (since the repair was over $1000). It took 5 days before the repair was approved. The rental car wasn't covered because the repair needs to be over 10 hrs of labor. Then took an additional week for the car to finally be ready (not Car Chex fault) The condenser had some damage from when I hit a bucket in the road 3 1/2 years prior, but it still functioned and wasn't the cause of the a/c not working. The condenser is supposed to be replaced during the repair because it has a built in dryer. The inspector said that they wouldn't cover the condenser due to the previous damage, so I had to pay for the condenser and the 3 days of rental car. The shop provided a loaner car after the 3rd day when they discovered that the rental car wasn't covered.

Be careful with this company offer to much but when is the time to pay the invoice has many excuses to don't pay. I'm not the only person who has this problem with this company this company don't respond when is time to pay. The dealer tell say I'm not the only person don't what to pay. Are to many extended warrants company this one don't respond. My invoice was $1867.00 dlls
