Don't risk it with Ryan Air car hire. Just come back from Malaga and booked a hire car through Ryan Air who used Gold Car as the car provider. Got a £190 credit card bill for extras I never asked for or was told about during the collection process. even paid for AXA insurance through Ryan Air just in case and told Gold Car I don't want any insurance cover when it was offered. Anyway got a beat up Fiat with 65,000 on the clock and it looks as though its going to cost me over £260 for the week. I did get 70 euros back for fuel but i am still £190 out of pocket.Vehicle was returned in same condition as collection and with full tank. Got photos and videos as proof. Went onto Ryan Air help desk but decided to hang up when they informed me of the call charge. Anyway I have filled in a complaint with Gold Car so wait and see. P.s...No fool like an old fool!!!

Ryanair and Goldcar are operating a scam. They let you hire a car and pay for it. When you get to the airport they do not let you have the car and keep the money. They said we needed a credit card with both first and second names written in full. This is outrageous 6 of us had credit cards, all used previously to hire cars and we have never been told that both first and second names need to be written out in full on the card. A scam, they would not even return the money even though we did not use the car. The insurance money for the car was also lost. Neither Ryanair or Goldcar cared at all. They were disgraceful.

I had car hire from interrent through ryanair. Interrent tried to rip us off with extra £187 for insurance and they would not let us have the car without paying. Left the airport in fuerteventura in a taxi. Trying to get our money back without any success.☹️

The worst car rent ever. After always renting the car directly with the rental company, I have decided to safe some money and use by Ryanair offered car rent. Advertised all the insurance and even free cancellation. Reality was no insurance - to add the one the price would be 3times more then the normal commercial one and surprise surprise no way to cancel my booking for free...
Awful rip off. To get the car I paid the price twice (Had to cancel the Ryanair offer and booked my favourite by yers proved rental company with all the insurance for almost similar price). I had to pay for my stupidity!
Don’t use this rip off company!!!

Booked a car through Ryanair website. Advertised as best deal!!! What a joke. Car hire company was Interrent who totally scammed us. Brought back car and the girl checking it over went straight to underneath the front of the car and surprise surprise found a scratch!! She also found another on back of car which we had originally pointed out to girl when we hired it but unfortunately didn't see her mark it off list. Told her we weren't responsible for them and refused to sign the form she gave us. She shrugged her shoulders and said "Doesn't matter, we have your money". €200 euro was gone from my credit card account before we boarded the plane. This rental company is a total scam and Ryanair should not be using them. Will not hire through Ryanair website again.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE at MALLORCA AIRPORT. Ryanair-GOLDCAR-IRODEO car rental in Palma De Mallorca is the worst experience of my life. Humiliation and harassment. OPENLY Giggling in clients face. They know you arrive unprepared and rip you off. While fighting for your rights it's easy to notice most of the people in line to get a car after the flight are also being ripped off. The schema is very simple. Ryanair sells you car rental at a pretty low rate. You pay and assume you get a good deal. When you arrive to IRODEO or GOLDCAR or whatever the name of rental they try to sell you a car at a many times higher rate and when you disagree they tell you sorry then you are not getting a car. I called Ryanair a few times and they pretend they have no clue but it seems Ryanair is a partner in crime. It's hard to believe the Ryanair car rent department is unaware of a lawless situation after 70,000 extremely bad reviews. Disgrace. BEWARE! Deal with a car rentals directly and have everything confirmed before you arrive. Probably then you think twice to rent or just take a taxi.
GOLDCAR Reps don't wear badges with names and never share the name when you request.

To begin, let me say I was at fault. You know Ryanair are waiting to take a bite out of your wallet every chance they get, and they did clearly say I needed to bring my credit card with me. I didn't, I brought my wife's (who was with me and was going to be an additional driver). When faced with that omission at Pisa, we were told to take it up with Ryanair. I updated driver details online and assumed that would fix it. Simple, you'd think...nu uh...I was informed it could take 48 hours for those details to update, which is strange because I upgraded the car 24 hours before in a heartbeat. It's as if they want to make it impossible for you so you're forced to hire another...
Despite my car obviously sitting there, I was told I couldn't have it even if I paid for it again. I was instead (via a Ryanair rep on the phone) offered a smaller car for nearly twice the price with another company.
It cost us money, but it will cost them more. I will never use them again, and I will diss them to everyone I can.

Got scammed at the Menara airport in Marrakesh.
Ryanair was not helpful and they let the scam to continue.
No responce whatsoever at this point.
Text of complaint:
"Hello, I am following up on the issue we are having with your response to us beeing scamed using your Ryanair car hire service.
We have collected all the proof to defend our case and by given right to complain we do exercise this right, as so far the refund received for all the troubles is just a minuscule amount of what we have originally lost. Please understand that I am dedicated to see this case coming through by all means and I would suggest taking the opportunity to make things right.
I would repeat our story here in this email so you would have all the information in one place.
We have booked a car through ryanair car rental and payed the full price. Upon the arrival to Marrakesh airport, we have presented a valid credit card to leave the deposit, however our card was denied by their card reader. Later communication with the bank revealed that no inquiry was received in their system, meaning that the rental company have somehow meddled with their equipment, so no transaction would come through, and show on the screen "transaction refuse".
After being denied the car, we were not the only ones succumb to the same trap. In front of us, 4 other people were denied their car under similar circumstances.
After this incident, rental worker would not speak an english word to us, and would say "go refund to ryanair", and would write something in his paper in French saying go away and smiling. Afterwards a bunch of people would come to us and they would try to rent their cars seeing us being in trouble.
By the way, ryanair car rental representative have offered to rent us another car with the same company, we would not do this though as we clearly saw the scam in progress.
After wasting 2 days in the airport trying to find other car to rent. We have learnt from other more honest people that the car rental company runs a scam, and it works following. They would rent out more cars than they have, as they expect some people to show up without a valid credit card, allowing them to give these cars to other people, turning double profit. They would have more cars in the morning and in the afternoon when none is left, the card reader would not work anymore.
So clearly we are a victims here caught in such a terrible situation. It is a shame that Ryanair continues to do business and support such wrongdoers. It seems that no-one cares. I believe no internal investigation would be conducted either, as people we have spoken so far on the phone, were very rude in regards to our case, and sorry the refund we have received for this situation is a joke. Please don't forget that we have wasted our travel plans, time and money."
BAD BAD situation

Just returned from Barcelona having used Ryanair car hire.
Moral of the story:- use Ryanair Car Hire at your peril.
I had 2 problems at Barcelona airport with Ryanair via Centuaro.
1. I was charged twice, once by Ryanair and second by Centuaro, first in £ and the second at the airport in € ????? Will I ever get any money back?, Lots of unnecessary hassle.
2. Stupidly, I took out Ryanair's extra car insurance which Centuaro refused to accept - this ended up costing me another €120. Again, I doubt I will ever be compensated.
Trying to find an email to complain to is proving very difficult!!

We booked a car through Ryanair, the car company “right cars” did no longer operate in Krakow airport and Ryanair helpdesk claimed that although car booking is a service of theirs they are not able to help. Booking through Ryanair therefore meant we had a paid booking with a company that did not exist with absolutely no help from Ryanair. I would therefore highly recommend against booking cars with Ryanair

Car hire that thought had already booked failed so stuck at airport in need of car for a week. Decided to try and go through Ryanair app. After it twice said the payment had not gone through i called the bank - they said no problem at their end so try again, I did, and it worked. Received email confirmation raise collection not from airport but from OK car hire nearby. Stumbled upon the minibus and got to the office. After a very lengthy wait (1 or 2 members of staff on 12 available desks) which you could avoid by paying an extra 18 euros, finally dealt with by a lad who was most insistent that I buy insurance despite fact I had already bought the same cover with Ryanair. Was Angel his real name?? Managed to resist his hard sell, clearly annoying him. Fortunately had a credit card with me - or despite having paid would not have been allowed to take car. Others were not so lucky. He didn't give accurate information about where the car was, so was looking round in torrential rain. Helped by kind man in car park who was cleaning the cars. All was then fine until drop off - when discovered that in extremely small print that was not given the opportunity to read, if have to drop off before 7.00 they charge a 50 euro penalty. So actually was always going to be significantly more expensive and would always be taken by surprise by this. They also left a number of us in the minibus, refusing to leave for airport, despite it being nearly full and people telling the driver they were going to miss their flights. When I got home I realised I had been charged twice. Try to make a complaint about this on the app or website! Ryanair now saying nothing to do with them, even though the duplicate payment has gone to them, and getting no response yet from cartrawler.com, who apparently are the agents for Ryanair and OK cars. AVOID THIS EXPERIENCE IF YOU CAN!!

Awful. No car when we got to the airport so had to sort one ourselves causing a long delay and a more expensive hire than we had booked.couldn’t get through to Ryan air.
When I got home, Ryan air could only say that they appreciated that we were annoyed at being inconvenienced, but as they’d never taken money off our card, there was nothing they needed to take further.
Would never use this service again.

I have just finished a 10 day trip down Italy on Arrival at Milan Bergamo I Collected a 9 seater vw mini bus for use with 7 people, I walked around the van and inspected it taking a few pictures (encouraged by local staff as well ) as some of the reviews I read mad me a bit paranoid , the vehicle had some bumps and scrapes all which were clearly marked down on form before leaving the airport.
I had to Pay a €400 deposit and a one way fee of about €160 as I was collecting it Milan and dropping it back in Naples Airport.
I dropped it back with out any new scrapes and dents and within 24 Hours I have had my deposit sent back to my credit card.
The only thing I would say could be improved on is if the one way fee for dropping back could be known before picking the vehicle up as I did not know what this was going to be until I collected the vehicle. if I had know this I would have giving them the full 5 stars.
The staff for Locauto (Car Hire Company) at both Bergamo and Naples were very helpful and professional.
I would have no worries on hiring a car from them again.

Worst experience ever with my parents flying from the USA. Dollar Car Rental at Treviso Airport in Italy worst customer service experience in my over 30 years of traveling. First the personnel service Hertz Car rental therefore they don't care about taking care of other customers. If you travel to Venice, Italy thru Treviso Airport never and I would not reccomend Hertz or Dollar Car rental thru Ryanair Car Hire. It was a nightmare for my parents. I felt very disappointed of this negative experience that I put my parents thru. NEVER AGAIN RYANAIR CAR HIRE. 👎

Booked car hire for Belfast Airport for 15th Aug. (2 days ago) landed at 7.30 am as scheduled. Could not get an answer on shuttle service for 1 hour. When we did arrive at the business park, was told that cos I had no credit card (informed them if this) and it dies say on the booking form ‘don’t worry if you don’t have a credit card we are here to help you!’ Was told I would not be able to use the Ryanair booking and had to rebook again. Cost of £105. I had already paid £58 plus insurance for Ryanair. They were extremely short staffed. We eventually left the site 2 hours after landing, after paying over £200. You have to pay £100 fuel deposit which I will wait to get refunded! The car was not the one I booked, booked a VW and got Hyundai. We went ahead, because by this time my temper was increasing. On returning the car, we had to wait 30 mins for the shuttle back to the airport. Office was run by one man. While there - the same thing happened to another passenger. Both our trips ended up costing a ridiculous amount. So much for bargain prices. Easyrent are the car providers for Ryanair. I will NEVER USE AGAIN! I am now trying to get refund from Ryanair, but after reading reviews it doesn’t seem likely!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Booked a car for pick up Green Motion, Glasgow Airport. As far as I was concerned I was booking via Ryanair. On arrival at Green Motion, the staff wee extremely unhelpful, told me my booking was with CarTrawler.com (of whom until then I had never heard of) questioned the free additional driver I had been informed was included, and despite providing all documents requested and having booked a car on two occasions before with Green Motion, the most recent booking in March this year they refused to provide me with a car as the address on my driving licence was my previous address. I had recently moved house and had not got round to changing the address on my licence. I could provide them with various official paperwork showing my current address. I asked to speak with the manager who advised me that a rival company Enterprise would accept my licence as was but they wouldn’t. I won’t go into the position this left me in, stranded, alone with luggage in an industrial estate on the outskirts of the airport. Now as I had had to pay Ryanair up front for the vehicle, now began my attempts to recuperate this money. So who do you approach, Ryanair, CarTrawler.com, or Green Motion. Where indeed was my money. Contacted my bank who advised the money had been taken from my bank by Ryanair. Almost impossible to find a contact email or tel no for Ryanair’s car hire dept. Eventually got hold of someone who emailed me a form! Completed this and returned to receive a response saying that Ryanair had no control over the auxiliary companies. So correct me if I’m wrong. It’s ok for Ryanair to randomly send you an email encouraging you to book car hire with what you think is Ryanair, take the money from your account, pass your details to another company, I.e car trawler and them take no responsibility for any complaint of service or return of monies paid. Incidentally after spending two hours online trying to find a way of contacting CarTrawler.com I have given up for now as losing the will to live ! Totally disgusted and will never book a car again with Ryanair.

Stay away like the plague !!!
The reservation name contained my name and the name of my company.
This was enough to get the reservation refused at the airport.
When the hiring company contacted RyanAir callcentre to fix the reservation, R.A. rebuffed the request saying that it was "not able" to cancel just the few letters of my company name from the database.
Result, make on place a new reservation at skyrocket price and got only 25% reimbursed by RyanAir Hire

Dont use them, they will basically rob you. We hired a car from them via Fire Fly when we went to Spain. They ended up charging my credit card and extra 95 pounds. When I asked what this was for I was told it was car insurance, despite the fact I already had insurance and told them at the desk I didnt want it. I forward them my insurance and a copy of the rental agreement where it showed i declined insurance? Basically theft!

I booked and paid without much worrying as it said it had a free cancellation policy. Then I found out that the AXA insurance I paid for was known for not paying out or being difficult for any claim in case of an incident, I decided to cancel. I had a rude awakening when I found that no free cancellation was available if it was under £45. Avoid.

I am writing this post as a warning to anyone willing to use the Ryanair Car Hire service and Cartrawler insurance with a request for sharing. I lost just some money but I can't let the company cheat and ignore customers with impunity.
Too long to describe the whole event here, however, the most important thing is that I was forced to file a complaint about the rental service, which was not my fault, despite paying for the service.
To start the procedure, I went to the Ryanair Car Hire website, but the possibility of making a complaint is extremely effectively hidden or there is no such possibility.
Since I additionally concluded the insurance contract recommended by Ryanair Car Hire, I wrote an email to the insure cartrawler.com describing my problem. The insurer responded from with a link to submit a complaint. It turned out that this link works only theoretically, because both with and without attached documents does not allow sending a complaint. After my next email, the insurer attached a description of the incident and scans of documents for complaint. After some time, I received an email from ryanaircarhire with a request to send additional documents within 10 business days, which I did in a much shorter time, i.e. exactly June 10, 2019. Complaints were to be considered within 20 business days. Until now (August 25, 2019), despite many emails sent to both Ryanair Car Hire and Cartrawler, I have absolutely not received ANY ANSWER.

Most terrible experience arriving in Carcassonne today with Ryan Air Car Hire. Ryan Air changed my flight times several months ago to land earlier and rang up and I was told there would be no issue to pick up the car within a 3 hour time period with Firefly and no need to change booking. Firefly could not access the booking when I arrived and although they were able to give me a car 2 hours earlier - on ringing Ryan Air from the airport they would not amend my booking. The only way they would amend my booking is if I went with a different provider and paid them more money. They would not accept responsibility that they had changed the flight and claimed Ryanair and Ryanair Car Hire are not linked ( Ryanair don’t pay my wages I was told). I am now sat in Carcassone Airport waiting for the car to become available on Fireflys system. On 3rd Jan Ryanair were very happy to take my money and then change my flight details twice to which my car hire was linked. Then on arriving on holiday to this situation not prepared to resolve for me without additional cost and distress having landed in a France with my children. I have no faith in them and cannot believe the 40 minute conversation I had on the phone with the call centre member of staff and supervisor in Dublin
