We collected our second hand caravan today. Today Tony had spent time getting everything prepared and organised ready. He spent over an hour going through all the technicalities to ensure we knew what we were doing on our first weekend away. Everything was switched on so we knew the fridge, the heating, the water etc were working. We really appreciate the crib sheet he has done for us so we can use this to make sure we don’t forget anything when we arrive on our first site, easy to do when you’re worried about towing for the first time in a long time. Yes, Burlingham Caravans were brill, Tony was a gem and we’ll be back in a few years when we are ready to trade up,Thank you everyone.

We have just bought our first ever caravan, from Burlinghams. We knew absolutely zero about caravans in general. The staff were extremely helpful, and gave us undivided attention during our walk around and in various caravans. We finally chose the one, and are very happy.
On the day of pick up, I can’t praise Tony enough, for the way he had prepared the van. Heating on , lights and music on. He gave us a good handover , and explained the systems very well.
He even stopped the traffic to let me out.
If we get another caravan, we will definitely come here.

On collection day again Tony had spent time getting everything prepared and organised ready. He spent over an hour going through all the technicalities to ensure we knew what we were doing on our first weekend away. We recently bought a Swift Kudos from Burlingham Caravans and had it shipped to NZ. The process of buying from a distance went smoothly and the people I dealt with were helpful. The caravan itself arrived in good condition and is a nice van. However, I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of it. To put it bluntly, it was filthy inside and out. None of the outside lockers had been cleaned around the openings, the front locker was grubby, there were spider webs and dirt around the window frames and windows themselves. Inside was not much better. Dead flies, dust above all the ledges, the floor was dirty, dust and dirt in some of the cupboards and there was dog hair for Africa. It took two days of solid cleaning before it was how it should have been. If I was picking it up from the yard, I am sure it would have been properly groomed. I surmise that as it was being shipped 12000 miles away it didn't matter. Get you act together guys. There is no excuse to send a dirty caravan anywhere! (By comparison, we shipped another van from Stewart Longton in Chorley at the same time and it was immaculate!) Murray Burt NZ

We went on the hunt for a newer model of caravan and identified a couple of dealers to visit. Burlingham was the third on our list. From the moment we stepped into the place we felt at ease, Tony Clark Who dealt with us all the way through the purchase of our caravan and accessory sales in the shop and also a couple of snaggs was an absolute gentleman. Also Gary the engineer was understanding and dealt quickly with our couple of snaggs. We now have a great caravan with a good back up from Burlingham and all at a great price.

We have recently bought a 6 berth Sterling Eccles caravan from Burlingham Caravans. We had been persuaded by our middle daughter to have a quick look at the caravans available and within 20minutes we had found and pretty much decided on a new caravan. Tony was our lovely sale rep and a real gentleman, dry honest and not at all pushy. We put a deposit down within a couple of days and part exchanged our other caravan.
A few teething issues were personally sorted out by Tony, which included a personal visit to our house!
We would highly recommend Burlingham. Honest, not over priced and a 100% customer care.

Highly recommended. The team were amazing and went out of their way to be helpful. We found our caravan on Autotrader and before official photographs had been taken. Ashley quickly sent me photos from his mobile which resulted in us driving two hours across to Garstang. This resulted in a sale. When we collected our caravan we were given a detailed user tour which was very useful. Customer service and attention to detail was outstanding. Burlingham Caravans are highly recommended.

So nice to find a genuine caravan dealer where customer service comes first. Purchased a second hand van, was left to look around it (with a nice cup of tea) no hassle or pressure selling. Any faults I found were noted and fixed prior to pickup.
Upon collection time was spent explaining how everything works with a full demonstration, all service documents, damp reports etc were present as promised.
A minor problem found after picking up was solved immediately to my 100% satisfaction. (even though I was 75 miles away)
Highly recommend buying from this company, and my thanks go out to Tony, Ashley and the service team.

We absolutely love it!
The service that Burlington provided was excellent,very friendly helpful staff.We where guided through a full in depth hand over on the collection day,that was very,very helpful.

Wanting to purchase our first caravan we did lots of internet research and found the perfect one at Burlinghams. We drove over (a 2 and half hour drive) and was shown the van by Duane. He seemed very fed up and the sales pitch turned into a therapy session as he told us how he couldn't wait to leave the company! However, we loved the van and bought it. he promised us a few minor issues would be sorted (the jack pads were missing and the mattress was slightly the wrong shape for the fixed bed) and arranged a collection date. We also paid the required cash in hand to have a motor mover fitted. When we arrived to collect we were kept waiting as Duane was dealing with 2 other handovers and a motorhome that had been returned as it had sprung a major leak. He rushed us through the handover (we noticed the jack pads were still missing and the mattress hadn't been changed- when I queried this he said that as it was a new mattress James had said they wouldn't replace it, so it was tough!). Duane hitched us up and told us we were good to go- we should have checked it ourselves but as novices we weren't quite sure what to check. Sadly we then drove two and half hours home with the caravan handbrake on! On discovering that the brakes were now ruined (because it nearly ran my husband over) we called Burlinghams and were told to take it back over the next day. We did and the owner eventually agreed to check the CCTV and later admitted that Duane had left the handbrake on. As we had purchased the warranty they agreed to fix it. It took a little while to get it all sorted but we went back to collect it and had another, slower hand over. I also asked the girl in the shop about what awnings they had in stock; she just shrugged, said she didn't deal with them, turned her back and walked away! So we towed it home again and then took our lovely van for a short holiday. When we left the site we noticed that the brakes were sticking again and contacted Burlinghams. They told us take it back in, agreed that the brakes were shot again (not our fault as we are now paranoid about checking the handbrake). We also pointed out the bathroom tap wasn't working properly and locks on 2 of the external lockers were broken. We were promised it was all easy to fix and that it would be ready by the weekend. Having also chosen and paid for a seasonal pitch we were desperate to get it sited. The weekend approached and no phone call. We phoned and James told it wasn't ready yet but it would be by next weekend and he would be kept informed. Nobody called us so I called again and was told by Ashley that they had worked out what was wrong and it would be ready to collect on the Friday. We both re-arranged our work days, cancelled meetings etc for me to be then told by James (when I rang to double check it was ready) that Ashley hadn't spoken to him, was wrong and that it needed a part that wasn't available until the following week. He then told us it would be fixed and be tested extensively by taking it for a run to the lakes to make sure the brakes weren't sticking. I made it clear how unhappy I was with the situation, that we had been promised things that weren't stuck to, that we were paying for a seasonal pitch for the past 3 weeks that we had no caravan to put on and that it was costing us a fortune in diesel coming back and forth. James agreed to look into some compensation. He also promised to keep us updated. He didn't. We had to ring the day before we were due to collect it, to be told the part had only just been ordered (despite James saying it was already on order) and would be fitted that afternoon. I spoke to Tony Clarke, who was sympathetic and understood how upset I was with the situation and he promised to keep us informed. He actually kept his word unlike Ashley and James, who could do with a crash course in customer care (small hint- don't lie to your customers, just to make them leave you alone). Tony made sure the van was finally sorted and ready to collect but told us it had not been extensively tested by a trip to the lakes- just a 15/20 minute run out. When we arrived to collect it Ashley was too busy texting on his phone to come and talk to us. Fortunately Tony took pity on us and we had a nice conversation with him. This gentleman is a proper salesman, with good knowledge of customer care and deserves a pay rise. Ashley finally ambled out to give us the keys and told us he hoped he wouldn't see us again. Don't worry, Ashley. You won't. We certainly won't be coming back. We have had no follow up contact from James to make sure everything is alright with the van or to discuss the promised compensation. I'm sure as long as your transaction is straightforward and you deal with Tony you won't have a problem with Burlinghams. If you do have a problem then invest in plenty of paracetamol because the headache will last a long, long time...

Excellent staff. Very friendly. No pressure sales. We had a couple of minor issues that were dealt with immediately. They even delivered the caravan to the caravan park a few miles away as we didn't have a tow bar. Special mention to Tony and Ashley. Brilliant!

From the moment we called up to confirm the caravan was still available to when we drove out of the lot to tow it away we couldn't have been more happy with the service, professionalism and attentiveness of the whole team. They made the purchase very simple and explained the whole process too us. When we picked the van up Burlingham took the time to run through all the vans finer points with us showing and explaining how to use everything. Couldn't have done more!

I would not recommend Burlingham Caravans Their salesmanship was excellent, but the condition of the caravan I collected was not as promised. Ask to see the motor mover they will fit before they fit it.
