I waited 5 hours for an engineer to attend a pre-arranged appointment to fix a faulty phone line. Nobody turns up and even worse nobody has the courtesy to let me know. Even worse when you open a legitimate complaint and you receive an e mail informing you that BT have closed it down without explaining why and even before it has been resolved. Quite frankly I cannot believe a word from BT and their devious tactics are guaranteed to drive once loyal customers far,far away. I will have no hesitation, whatsoever in escalating my complaint to the ombudsman if it is not promptly resolved to my satisfaction.

Ordered BT fibre / landline and sim with great cashback incentives on Weds. BT cancel my fibre and landline for no reason on Thursday. I spend 30 mins on phone trying to simply ask 'why have you cancelled my order?' to be given no clear answer and told to reorder in 24 hours. Credit check for no reason on first order then - thanks so very much. Ive cancelled SIM but im being told I may not be able to - 14 day cooling off period mentioned to CS lady - no idea what that was. all in all Id say avoid BT.

We was with by BT couple of years ago for internet tv phone package they ended up breaching DPA about five months into the contract now they admitted this after listening to the phone calls that they were in the wrong and cancelled out contact with no edf's we asked for a subject access requested but never received this as we wanted prove of the phone call but never heard back so we left it at that and years later bare in mind I received a letter from country court business centre threatening that I have to pay. this is unfair and has caused me alarm and distress I don't know why BT think they are above the law after me asking for a subject access request due to them breaching DPA witch they admitted they have done them told us we would cancell my contract with edf's and we won't have to pay a penny that was there words and no all this I have two kids on a part time job I can't afford solicitors to deal with this they are lucky they got one star I would have have them none of that was a choice

Appalling service, two no shows from engineer although I suspect he was not aware of them.
Two weeks of intermittent phone line and WiFi.
They never ever ring back, I've had numerous 'case handlers' a joke.
Spoken to ... India, Cardiff, Liverpool, Enniskillen.. blah blah all equally hopeless, numerous unanswerable emails, texts etc etc..... how did we do?
blah blah, you didn't do anything! apart from probably shortening my life by about 6 months !!!!
Decided on one last call before involving Offcom and spoke to Eamon in Dublin nearly hung up as this bloke actually listened & wasn't reading off a script.
Eamon then proceeded to 'sort it' compensated us & most importantly said sorry on BT's behalf.
So thanks Eamon an efficient & good bloke wasted working for this 'Micky Mouse' company.

used to get ok internet is now pathetic. doesnt even work in next room 1.5m away from router. complained before and told by a very condescending man that it should be fine. very poor customer service. can't wait for contract to end. sure down turn in 8nternet has coincided with introduction of new, more expensive internet in every room product. do not go with BT.

Awful awful awful!!
Upgraded to fibre broadband on 2nd of July and believe it or not it actually got SLOWER. Had an engineer out 2 days ago who explained it’s a line fault and Openreach have to come out. Made an appointment between 8am -1pm which I deliberately rushed home for only to check my online account and be told that I had let BT know that the fault had been fixed and that they had cancelled my appointment. Then refused to send an engineer out on the same day. Absolute JOKE and thinking of leaving altogether because can’t be doing with the absolute useless of this company.

Engineer came out fixed a problem on my line that even Vodafone could not fix on my broadband bt billed me incorrectly very easy to sort out some times there staff are hitty missy so i just ask for my call to be listened to still love my BT services hope it stays this way 😀😀😀

Wish i could write a review without having to put stars! Bt dont even deserve the one star. Completely messed me around. They left me going without no wifi only to later tell me that my order is cancelled and cant process my broadband through. Absolutely fuming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When it comes to landline, mobile and broadband, after 40 years in business, I can happily say that you are better off with BT, despite some shortcomings, BT would rate the best! I am in a very fortunate position to say that I have been around the block and have had accounts with other major providers and have number of business contacts who have similar experiences like myself, but they all agree that at the end of the day they all have difficult tasks to deal with keeping customers happy, BT comes out at the top! You can actually speak with someone where all other provide a yo yo service !!
We have some 7 to 8 accounts with BT now (in fact they are all now with BT) A good value company!

I really don`t know where to start - BT cut my fathers landline broadband and subsequent tv off for no apparent reason - no letter no call or warning - my father is a long term customer who is 85 and has a health condition he was at the time paying 90 pounds a month.
Weeks on he still has not had his phone at the least reconnected - I have spent hours on the phone being passed around connections/faults/ sales etc - This seems to do no good whatsoever a few times my call arrived in the Indian call centre i assume - don`t bother they are completely out of touch.
The complaint has been in action for 2.5 weeks now and BT seem inept at reconnecting my father - asking for a manager is virtually impossible - I was given one name and was told he would ring back - it didn't happen.
I`m really angry - I wouldn't recommend them at all after this experience - BT isn't what it was.

2 engineer visits booked, no arrival total waste of 12 hours. No email, text, phone call to say sorry not coming. Problems worsening re broadband speed since late June, absolutely no resolution. Writing to financial broadsheets and Ofcom.

BT, truly awful. Paid for a service I didn't receive and they were unable to supply, impossible to claim back the money despite finally getting through to complaints and asking to be paid back. Still getting bills from them and phone calls. Completely disorganised. Some staff rude tho' some tried to be helpful and some staff openly embarrassed that they worked for BT.

Granted a monopoly to deliver high speed fibre, and clearly unable to deliver a satisfactory service. Do not honour agreed terms, fail to keep appointments (repeatedly), and fail to return calls. Unbelievably poor.

Only used BT for 3 months! Shocking service. Internet kept dropping so I called and registered a fault, they had said they needed 3 days to monitor line usage. It was a never ending rigmaroll. In short, the technician never pitched in the 3 HOUR ALLOCATED timeslot the internet is still awful and Like I've said its only been 3 months! I switched to another service already now. What rude people as well!!!!

Job reference LS9MGJ92. I had to call BT this morning regarding what I thought was the large exchange boxes that had been vandalised. They were absolutely fantastic. The engineer was really efficient and the customer service worker was great.
It turned out it belonged to Virgin Media who I am a customer with I have just left a review for them with 1 star absolutely appaling service but from my experience of BT I would seriously consider switching. The call centre for virgin is in India and major communication issues and also they are pretty useless. BT sent out an engineer within 1 hr Virgin 24hrs with a major risk as massive box blocking half the pavement. People with pushchairs and people with disabilities will be affected by this.

Terrible Internet absolutely garbage in a trash can. Sold a pack of lines told we would get 150mb line with super fast broadband connection. Two disc later no improvements told we are also on a speed cap but not notified, previously to this kept getting told a pack of lies that we were receiving 150mb to the router when we wasn't. Bt tell you to use the speed test from there website which always comes back with flying colours but when you use a legitimate impartial speed test it tells a diabolical story. I will be terminating with these very shortly and sending my useless equipment back.

Admitted themselves “misleading”, charge unethical hidden fees, ask to make a complaint about the issue and refuse you to do so. Not given a governing body either. Absolutely terrible. For the record, it’s not sustainable ripping people off.

Ill keep it short as everyone else has got here first. Lots of problems since transferring to BT. Several conversations lasting an hour, lots of problems, transferred calls to different advisers to sort out problems (customer care can’t seem to answer any questions).
I even had one woman tell me how annoyed she was at having to spend ages on the phone to BTs in-house technical support as if she wanted my sympathy for her having to deal with BT when she worked for them!
She raised a complaint without me even raising the issue she was so annoyed but I”m not sure she knew what she was doing either.
I even got a text the other day saying an engineer was coming out urgently to deal with a problem that I didn’t know about. He didn’t show up!
I gave 2 stars as so far, after having problems getting the box installed by the engineer from BT, the WiFi seems to be working ok so far..
I’d leave a reference but I currently do not have an active account with them even though they are taking my money.
Finally - they still haven’t explained whether my sim bill will be reduced now that I have broadband with them. I might get an answer in about a year by which point ill have moved elsewhere..
