One of the easiest and most personal banking experiences. Having dealt with other lenders in the past, getting my home loan with BOQ was seamless. Courtney from the Windsor branch took care of everything. Even after having the loan for over 12 months, whenever I have an enquiry I can still contact her and everything is resolved without hassle.

Im really disappointed to have to write this about our local BOQ Innaloo. Went in first thing this morning to check/verify accounts for my mother and my father who has since passed away. A very coiffed teller Angela S, Customer Relationship Specialist - on hearing of my requirements said that she needed to identify me with my license which I produced with her saying while I was searching for it in my purse said "there it is"" in quite a patronizing fashion. She asked me my name obtained from the computer records to verify my Power of Attorney for mum. I gave her the account numbers of my mother's accounts which I had already - she begrudgingly took the pieces of paper from me. I proceeded to ask her to verify the accounts with my father's name on which I handed to her with the account numbers on but because he had passed away she told me she couldn't tell me anything about my father's accounts until I made an appointment to sit with her. She said "You are the executor of his Will are you? I need you to make an appointment with me and bring along his Will and Death Certificate and go through this with her which would take at least 45 minutes. I mentioned too that I had POA for him to which she said this wasn't any good since he had died and POA's in this case don't mean anything (throwing her hands with her daintily painted nails up in the air and looking at me like I was a visitor from Mars!). I told her that I wasn't happy with the way she was speaking to me and that she was being rude to which she just shrugged and rolled her eyes. I asked to see the Manager to which she replied she was on stress leave and that she didn't know when she would be returning. BOQ seriously you need to re-educate your staff about interacting with the public regarding this kind of thing. Unfortunately our parents do get old and we as their children need to manage their affairs and don't need to be treated as though we are criminals coming into a branch seeking their account information. I get that we need to be identified and also that we need to have lodged the right documentation to allow us to deal with our parents or our loved ones account information. However, you do not have the right to treat us badly just because we seek this information from you as in this instance. Granted I do not have the Will nor the Death Certificate for the teller today but also do not ask to be treated disrespectfully. This is a sad time for me and your bank tellers should have this education in their training to show empathy and behave respectfully in all situations when dealing with the public. To be treated like a 2nd rate citizen because you've come in to a Branch asking for details about your parents when you have a perfect right to do so doesnt give these bank tellers the right to treat us with any less respect than we deserve. I would also advise that this isn't the first time I have had to deal with a BOQ teller at the Innaloo Branch who behaved similarly to the one day.
OK so if we the public as POA's for our loved ones don't have the right documentation then just say so in a polite and courteous manner - I see no reason to be treated badly representing my parents or loved ones simply because I need information about accounts specifically if we have already gone to the trouble of lodging Power of Attorney.
I have had a bad experience both times on separate occasions that I have been to BOQ Innaloo to deal with account matters for my parents and today is another blow for me and is totally unacceptable.

living in London and have a Bank Of Queensland account which I have not used for a couple of years. Last week I had a reason to pay a bill and that occurred without a problem. The following week, when I attempted to log in, my access had been revoked and would not be reinstated until I went into an Australian branch with ID or visited the Australian Embassy in London.
If you are living abroad or intending to live abroad do yourself a favour and switch to a bank that has an international presence

BOQ's travel money calculator does not mention that they "charge 1% of the AUD value with a minimum fee of $5 per currency, or currencies we purchase from you there is a repurchase fee of $5 per currency.” Instead this is on another webpage. ANZ’s and Bankwest’s currency converters on the other hand clearly mention a fee or commission is involved.
I reported the travel money calculator webpage to BOQ customer relations. Staff member "moved the goalposts" and said "I have reviewed BOQ’s webpage and have found that it states there is a fee charged." He then mentions a different webpage (not the currency calculator webpage).
