My Car was recalled as part of the EGR issue. When I call BMW Cooper Thames Ditton they told me that I have to wait 3 months for an appointment. Not great considering this was a fire hazard. At the time of the booking I told them I needed a courtesy car to which they confirmed they would provide one upon dropping the car. When I went in drop my car off at BMW Cooper Thames Ditton they said they can’t give me a courtesy car as they had none available. I then went back home and rang BMW UK customer service who advised me that if BMW Thames Ditton don’t have any car on site, that they should have hired a car from Enterprise and given it to me. Finally this happened but I was given a HYUNDAI!
After a couple of days waiting for them to call me to tell me what happened with the EGR replacement, I called them up to be told the EGR needs to be replaced but it would take about 2-3 weeks to replace as they don’t have the parts. Why would you take a car in for repair if you know you don’t have parts for the next 2-3 weeks? It makes no sense. Surely you will plan for worst case. I also ended up having to drive a Hyundai during that period.. And it gets better..keep reading
After waiting another 3 weeks I tried ringing them up countless times and they never picked up the phone and eventually when someone did pick up the phone, they take down my details promising to call back but they have never called back once to date! I therefore had to drive down to the dealership and was kept waiting over an hour, only to be told that they had replaced the EGR but it was from a defective batch and I have to wait a further 4 months for the replacemnt part tro be available.The Hyundai was still the courtesy car. I requested a BMW as a like for like replacement for me to have for the next four months, but this was flatly denied. I paid top dollar for the car and now I have to drive a Hyundai for a quarter of the year.
I tried calling customer servcie to request a like for like replacement and also to get my wife insured on the vehicle. I do not think it is fair for me to pay extra to get her insured especially as she is insured on my BMW at present and also the fact that this is our only vehicle, Lastly I also wanted my service plan extended as I know I will not hit the mileage before the service plan runs out as the car is pretty much off road for the next 4 months. But believe it or not BMW HAVE NOT RESPONDED. They are a good for nothing firm with no repect for their clients.

They don't make them as they used to do in the past.
It's truly a shame that BMW is making crap cars now that break after 2-3 years. I bought a new 5 Series 3 years ago and it broke, the bill would have cost me $4500 in repairs if the car wasn't covered by the insurance.
This is not acceptable to pay a lot of money on a "premium" car and it breaks after 1 year...
After I repaired it, I sold it and bought a 2018 Honda Civic, couldn't be more satisfied with my new car.
Avoid BMW, Mercedes, and Audi, they make crap cars and mark them as "premium"
A friend of mine owns an M5 and after 1 year the leather deteriorated and he paid a fortune on that car, this is not acceptable.

Our BMW X3 was stolen from our drive a few weeks ago in the middle of the night, the thieves used scanners to copy our keys. At no stage did the keys get touched or entry to our house.
BMW customer services just don’t care when you speak to them, denying there is a problem. Please please DO.NOTbuy their cars as it’s so easy to steal one

Our BMW was one of the vehicles involved in this recent re call.
To be honest it didn't flag up as requiring the fix however we phoned the number provided by the program Watchdog.
Anyway just thought i'd write about the fantastic customer service we received from Parks of Hamilton BMW. They booked the car in for the next day and when we went into Parks, the booking was dealt with Hannah, who was totally amazing, her customer care was second to none, and she was very efficient and caring, she was able to put our minds at ease.
We were telephoned a couple of hours later to collect the car and they had even washed it!
I would have no hesitation to recommend this dealer to anyone, however the Hillington,(sales) Glasgow branch of this Company should visit Hamilton to see what customer care actually is!
One thing to note is that if your BM has a private plate we were advised that it will not automatically be recalled, best to go by your VIN number.

I bought a 750il the car was a problem from day 1 gave the car in for service on multiple occasions and problems never fixed.being in the luxury car market spending over 100k you have no time to deal with such bad service . I have driven lexus and Mercedes for the last 20 years there is no way I would buy or recommend bmw in the future.
