Refuses to actually send profit payment by check as per agreement.
Blurb claims they sent the profit check Sept 12, 2019. After over a month of not receiving the payment I contacted Blurb through the website.
After a week of playing email tag, I was told a replacement was sent October 19,2019 and if it don't arrive by Friday October 25, 2019 they would send another.
No profit payment was received. By not receiving either mailings indicates either the USPS stole both of the profit payments and did not cash them and just threw them away, or Blurb never sent them in the first place.
Since the odds and common sense indicate Blurb never sent them, on October 27,2019 I asked Blurb if profit payments was just a scam and if they never had any intention of sending any profit payments.
Now they will not respond to repeated requests to resolve this matter through the website.
I then tried to call them directly because they wont respond to repeated requests through the website to resolve this issue but Blurbs phone number is fake and leads nowhere (415) 364-6300
Blurbs other number (415) 362-2067 has been disconnected.
Both more indications of deception by Blurb.

I thought I could create a book using the blurb software, pay the price to receive my high resolution pdf for interior and cover, and then upload them to Ingram where I normally publish my books. Blurb requires the ISBN to do this, but they don't tell you that they're actually registering the ISBN with them, which means I can't publish it anywhere else. They have an option to publish through Ingram but through them, but they gouge you on the cost of production so that I'd have to inflate the price to 150% of the normal price in order to make a $1 profit per book.

I had one book printed by Blurb that was OK, but another I submitted was so terribly printed I was embarrassed to have it for sale online. When I tried to get the quality issues addressed it turned into a 4-month nightmare. Twice it was over 4 weeks before my complaints were answered, and when they finally were the customer service employee tried to shove responsibility on me. When that didn't work, they reprinted the order and the books were even worse! The covers not only had a strong magenta tinge, but the spines were wrinkled. Interior pages had incorrect margins and slanting margins - most off by 1/8-3/8 of an inch, and some off by as much as a half-inch. I complained again, they did a second reprint. The covers of the second reprint had a worse magenta tinge, and only one book had acceptable interior pages.
I complained again and asked if a different "print partner" could be given my book since the one that had it consistently did very substandard work. This question was never answered and the customer service person who finally answered my complaint now claimed the issues I was upset about fell within "the range of variation that we can expect." This statement flatly contradicted what I had been previously told - that Blurb considered 1/16 of an inch "acceptable variation." The printing issues I was complaining about were errors from 2/16 up to 8/16ths.
I write science books, and I worried the deplorable print quality of the books being sold would negatively impact my professional reputation as well as that of my coauthor. When I received no response to my question about my book being given to a different print partner I asked for it to be removed from Blurb's Global Distribution Network. Two weeks later it still hasn't been.

I've tried working with other printing companies before, but nothing comes close to Blurb. Their website is extremely easy to use. It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned book designer or just deigning your first book. If you follow their instructions, all your book will arrive looking amazing.

We travel a lot and take lots of pictures. We make big books for ourselves and have researched various printing sources. Blurb makes stunning quality books for a fair price. We have made more than 15 travel picture books and will continue to use Blurb again and again.

I am the CEO/Creator/Founder of WhateverUdesire Enterprises and its "vehicle" can be found at www.whateverUdesire (add the "calm"). My true desire is to help make BLURB the new AMAZON. There is no one in the entire global self-publishing marketplace that can even come close to what Blurb does provide...in an all-encompassing way! Blurb has all the "tools" and all the "options" that no other does provide...allowing a self-publishing author to accomplish EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN that no one else can even come close to be able to do for you. Their PDF Uploader makes it BEYOND so easy to create a Trade Book, as I did...and then create incredible E-Books versions, PDF versions, and then the printed soft cover versions of all my books. Their WEBSTORE is fantastic and shows itself to be above and beyond the rest pertaining to its layout, format, user-friendliness, and visual design perfection! The BEST I have saved to mention LAST...and that is Blurb pricing on a printed book is at least 1/2 the price of any other merchant who sells my books thru the Blurb Ingram Global Distribution Program, and the royalty profit that I earn selling printed books on Blurb is at least double (at worst) as to what I would receive as "earnings" if my books were purchased elsewhere. Therefore, it makes no sense in any way for anybody to purchase a printed version of my books other than to buy them all from Blurb. Why anyone would ever buy elsewhere is just sheer stupidity and nonsensical and irrational and illogical...and beyond my "ken" to even understand. I know I have just made all of my points crystal clear to everyone's ear as to why BLURB should be the new AMAZON.

I have created a book that is meant to be a family heirloom and Blurb delivered. The book is gorgeous and so well made and professional. I can't wait to give one to each of my kids at Christmas. The turn-around time was incredible too. I received the book less than a week from the day I submitted it to be printed.

Easy to use software (book wright) was downloaded to laptop. From there I was able to design my book, choose style of book, pick a cover style, and grade of paper. I was able to order the quantity from a single copy to multiple. I was able to see a proof before uploading from the software. The quality of delivered product (about 2 weeks ground) was very impressive! I will use Blurb again.

Blurb makes making limited edition copies of books ( one and up )
feasible and easy. The choices of book types, sizes, covers and paper surfaces etc allow one to be creative. The software for laying out type and photos is excellent and easy to use. Blurb books have opened new market opportunities for my photography business selling coffee table portfolios and albums.
Thanks a lot Blurb!

After using BLURB for all of my books, I was most disappointed with the last book I ordered. Having ordered three books of the same earlier, this one was badly printed, the cover was under exposed and several of the photographs on the pages were really bad as well.
I tried communicating with BLURB customer service and it was worse than dealing with the poor print quality.

Blurb used to be an okay place to print self-published books... they make decent ebooks and a digital book preview and magazines. However, there are a lot of issues that ruin the Blurb experience. For one, do not expect to get your revenue from Blurb from orders customers purchase directly from the site. It is going on to two years and I still haven't received a payout for the purchases made. TWO YEARS!!!!
Secondly, this last order they shorted me 2 books! I reached out about it, and I haven't got a call or an email response. Additionally, many of the books are damaged. When I reached out about that, no response AT ALL! When you call the phone number, it rings but no one ever answers.
So essentially they stole money from me on two different fronts. From the sales I have made, they never payout. And they shorted me in my order.
I am very angry. I needed these books for a show, and now I don't have enough books to meet the RSVP requests and I will have to present damaged goods.
The Amazon process is also a joke. There is no clear explanation as to how the books get on Amazon or with Barnes and Noble. It doesn't appear to be a solid process, so it makes no sense for them to advertise it.

I have used Blurb since 2008 to produce a photo diary of my many and varied travels, special occasion and family photo albums. The Booksmart programme has improved considerably over this time and is easy to use with great flexibility. The resulting book is amazing and a wonderful way to preserve those precious memories.

I published my books through them a couple years ago. Some things are not clear such as if the "global distribution" includes ibooks, google books and other big places besides Amazon. I have emailed constantly over the years asking the same questions and getting the most disrespectful people. When I asked "where else in addition to Amazon do you send them?" She replied "Amazon and so forth" no kidding! I asked other questions and never was able to get my books published. They do not answer questions and treat you like you are stupid. You would think since I asked where in addition to Amazon I obviously know Amazon!? I can list a lot of other questions that were not answered over 3 years and only got replies repeating what I said I know. They even price books over $60 dollars that are not text books. The same thing on Amazon is less than $10! No wonder you do not make money! This is just to have $1 a book in royalty. RIP OFF EVEN TO BUYERS!

Unbelievable. Such an awesome company and software. It was the first book I’ve ever made and I made it for a professional artist and his gallery/portfolio....It could not have turned out any more perfect. Exactly the way I wanted it and even better!
They were on time to deliver and even early!
This not only gave me something to show as a resume, but something that truly captured the idea that we had in mind.
Super easy to learn...I mean it couldn’t be easier to figure out and even adding photos was as simple as dragging into the window.
You guys rock. We will be using your service for many more books to come and I compliment you on your focus towards making this easy for first time users and people in general.
I consider the book I made and just received a huge accomplishment for myself and my company.
The book will be viewed by hundreds I people during NY Fashion Week and my company and I couldn’t be more confident in the portfolio that Blurb has helped us create.
Thank you for making dreams come true....

I have used Blurb for my photo books since 2011. During that time they have produced 28 books for me. Every one has been of excellent quality and has always been delivered on, or before, the specified delivery date.
A record Blurb can be truly proud of.
I regularly recommend Blurb to my friends and many have taken up the service.

DO NOT trust Blurb to be on-time. VERY, VERY UNRELIABLE.
I am very, very ANGRY. I ordered several books for two very powerful important clients on September 10th. When I originally purchased the book online, Blurb had advertised that I would receive my books by September 20th. Today is September 23rd and my book is still in production!!!!!! What the heck!!!
It's also important to note that once you order, there is no direct phone line for customer service. You have to go through their lousy system and contact them through email on their website. I have contacted 4 different people and still have not gotten a confirmation for my request to update my Shipping Address.
I needed these books for a very important business meeting in LA. I will be flying out to LA in a few days and the books will not arrive to my home in Denver, in-time (I should also mention that I order these books 18 days before my flight...the fact that Blurb has not even preemptively notified me about the delay is a testament to their terrible service...ALSO, I CAN'T BELIEVE I WON'T GET MY BOOKS IN-TIME BEFORE MY FLIGHT WHEN YOUR WEBSITE SAID I WOULD GET THEM A WHILE BACK!!!!)
The third customer service rep, named Corey C, said that he could update my shipping address. When I responded back to let him know that I would like for him to send it to a new address, he hasn't responded back. That was three days ago!!!
I need someone to immediately get back to me. LIKE RIGHT NOW!
My order number is: 7377293 and 7377289.
I cannot believe that I'm even having to go through a 3rd party website to ask for help.
With this said, DO NOT TRUST BLURB for on-time documents. They are very unreliable. I also typed in "Blurb Customer Service Reviews" on Google and found sooooo many unsatisfied customers. I wish I had known this before I spent $400+ on three books for a very important business meeting. I am refraining from using expletives, but let me just reiterate...I AM BEYOND ANGRY AND UNSATISFIED!!!
DO NOT TRUST BLURB!! USE ANOTHER BOOK PRINTER!! THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!
