Please don't book it from bestbus.
There people are totally unprofessional and fraud.
Check wile Booking they are not allowing to select seats.
They have tie up with local vendors who are totally useless and rude.
I have booked tour from Bangalore to ooty & mysore. They wasted my two days.
Plan was not per itinerary, skipped most of the places. Tour was concentrated on shopping and food breaks as driver/guide has commission on it.
Hotel booked for hault was pathetic. Bestbus book hotel from goibibo with minimum fare hotel.
They change buses in between hence you may get last seat.
Dangerous thing was while returning they told me seats are not available and seated me in krctc bus.
Bestbus has the worst class service, better you should book state transport tour or other tour site at least they take responsibility.

I was on the 6:30PM bus from DC to NY. The bus was over one hour late for no reason I could think of. When I attempted to contact BestBus' customer service phone number it no one picked up and I was not even given the chance to leave a message. This alone is absolutely unacceptable. When the bus did arrive I found the inside of the bus to be laden with trash of all sorts and the bus had a rather dank odor.
On the bus I found a persons wallet complete with credit card, ID , and other personal affects. When the bus stopped at DC Union Station I reported it to the bus driver and supervisor, a certain Mr. Frasier. To my surprise and shock he proceeded to rifle through the wallet and attempted to pocket the credit card. When I saw him do this he accused me of being a racist and acting like a police officer; insisting that he always did his job correctly. Rather than confront his animal like behavior I had returned to my seat on the bus. After this unfortunate episode the owner of the wallet came and collected it shortly before the bus departed for NY. Had she not came so soon I'm afraid the wallet and its contents would be the personal property of Mr. Frasier.
If you're doing your job responsibly you wouldn't have to scream about it to your customers. I would suggest to BestBus to sack this supervisor.
To top this off the usual five hour journey took seven hours.

MANY better options for bus to NY!!!!!!
I've taken BestBus a few times and their arrival times are never correct- I'm not talking 15-30 minutes late, but more like 2 hours late.
The free water and outlets are helpful, but you can get that on any company's bus. My last trip to NY there was a malfunction in the toilet which caused urine to leak out of the bathroom, the foul smell and germs surely circulated through the ventilation. The driver was aware and should have stopped to get it fixed, but he was already going to be very late on our estimated arrival time and did not want to be more late. My guess is he thought he would be punished by BestBus, which is what shows its not a well run company.

On time, friendly, funny drivers, plus they give out free water and chocolates - theyre the best! And all of this was on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so extra points.

They're a bunch of liars. Canceled two of my reservations two days before my scheduled trips because "the time I selected is no longer available" when in reality they probably overbooked the bus and kicked me out of the spot that I booked weeks in advance.
"Well, how do you know they're lying to you?" The first time it happened was Christmas weekend, I booked my usual Friday 6:00pm bus from NYC to VA. I got an email saying that it was no longer available and that the next best time was 6:30pm. Fine, whatever. I went to stand in line at the usual bus stop and saw a bus leave right at 6:00pm. Hmm... strange but I thought nothing of it. Then, it happened again a few weekends ago. The 6:30pm from NYC to VA was canceled with no better time for me to take and I was forced to look up a different bus company. I ended up booking with GoBuses and got to VA quicker than a usual Bestbus trip. As I was waiting for my ride to pick me up I saw the Bestbus I was supposed to be on arrive myself. I even asked the bus driver if it was the 6:30pm from NYC, he confirmed. Also, the customer service rep that I spoke with on the phone when I attempted to get my refund stated that they no longer run the buses at the times that I booked.
I was a consistent and loyal patron with this company for over 2 years, but never will I ride one of their buses again. Especially since GoBuses is cheaper, has more leg room, faster and doesn't lie to their customers.
**UPDATE (rating changed from 1 star to 3 stars)
Their customer service rep reached out to me to apologize for the experience I had and to clarify a few things. Although I appreciate the extra effort that they made to accommodate to my needs and keep me on as a customer, I am still firm in my decision of riding with GoBuses for now. If in the future BestBus has a more convenient time for my trip then I will definitely choose them. But for the price, timing and convenience, they are no longer the best option for me anymore.

Best bus was great! They were on schedule. Buses are clean and comfortable. They give you free bottle of water. The wifi works great. The staff is very nice. Although their prices are a little higher than other lines it's worth it!

Typically nice service from everyone involved, however, today I was greeted by a complete a**hole driver on the 8am bus from Springfield. He had his laptop bag on the seat at the front of the bus (where the table is) and upon asking him if I could move his bag to the overhead storage to use the seat, I was first ignored, then rudely asked "what, you can't find another seat on this bus??" To which I said, "I wanted to use the table because I have work to do." He then just shook his head and continued to ignore me. Needless to say, I was unable to sit in that seat and moved to the back. I've used BestBus for a few years now, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue supporting a company that writes this man's paychecks. At the end of the day, I'm the one paying for this service, not the other way around. I expect to be treated as such.

Well, firstly you do not get that smell of mold or dirty ac. Buses are new, much less noisy wrt to engine and ac.
The driver was courteous, we arrived about 15 minutes early even on a 6 pm departure. He did not blindly followed the route, there was an accident on us50 and he avoided, saved us almost an hour.
Hard to understand for me why Megabus is was more crowded. I feel like I am cramped on these low ceiling double deckers.

I don't expect best bus be more expensive then Greyhound (which in most of cases is more comfortable) and MegaBus. Deluxe is $10 on Jan 13.

Simply, the worst bus experience I ever had. The NYC-DC bus was over 1 hour late, and they made us freezing NYC in the cold like cattle. Meanwhile, there was another bus for a later departure was sitting there. They boarded passengers headed to Va. for a later departure. as we continued to wait. Instead being given an honest assessment about what was happening, which would have allowed us to wait indoors nearby. We were repeatedly told that the bus was nearby. The lack of professionalism on site was only only surpassed by costumer service. When I called costumer service, they simply put me on hold for over 10 minutes. At the point my phone battery was near dead. I canned again to speak to the manager, and I was put on hold again.
We finally made it to DC. I am do not feel good this morning, and I am sure I am not the only one. Just avoid.

Best Bus is really pretty great, the seats are reasonably comfortable even though legroom is a little tight for taller folks. The buses I've taken have always left on time and gotten in on time or slightly early and usually the ride between NYC and Beaches (Delaware) is very nearly silent. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that occasionally you get whiffs off the bathroom chemicals if you're near the back but it's a) rare b) pretty fleeting and c) really from the middle to the back.

AIR CONDITIONER WAS TOO COLD IN THE BACK. VENT WAS BROKEN. DRIVER JUST GAVE PAPER TO PLUG ON THE VENT.

I am a VIP member of best bus. It should not advertise and promote the existence of WIFI on their buses when they cannot keep to their word. The WIFI is appalingly slow and cannot be used. It is almost as if it is there just for people to know it's there and not for people to actually use.
