Not enough room to explain all the mishaps due to incompetence. Very angry, sad and confused by the lack of professionalism.

I don't usually like to leave bad reviews, but I need to let people know the type of business these people conduct. I was recently scammed out of nearly $2800 by Ritesh Patel (Advocate Lutheran General) and Priti Patel (Berkshire Hathaway) and I do plan to pursue them in court.
I agreed to rent a town home from Ritesh Patel with Priti Patel acting as his agent. They are renting under the name J&J Real Estate LLC. There were certain repairs that they agreed to make prior to my move-in date. Upon inspection at move-in, these repairs were not made. In addition to that, there were no window blinds, washing machines not functional, living room floors damaged, backs door not secured (no keys), and a very obvious gas leak in the home.
I immediately took pictures and notified Priti that these repairs are needed and it's a safety hazard. I know this because I am a corporate property manager and a home owner myself (currently selling my home now, with possibility of moving out of town next year). After speaking with Priti, Ritesh immediately called me back stating he would not fix anything. He was screaming "that's how I bought the house so that's how I'm renting it." He then demanded that that I leave the key on the table as he changed his mind about renting to me. No problem at all, I immediately left the key on the table and sent him a snapshot to confirm that evening. I prefer not to die in a unsafe rental property. This occurred on the 1st which was my move-in date.
Till date, Ritesh Patel has refused to refund my 1st month rent nor my security deposit. He even had the nerve to immediately repost that dangerous and unsafe gas-leaking town home online for the next victim. Priti Patel has attempted to remove herself from the equation although she is very aware as an agent that Ritesh is illegally holding on to my funds. I will be filing suit against Ritesh and Priti very soon. They courts will have a field day with all the photos, text messages, and emails that I plan to submit.
This is just a word of warning to think twice about doing business with these two unexperienced persons. Avoid at all cost!!

I have a number of complaints regarding this businesses practices in customer service and home managing. It has been non stop issues since I moved in almost two years ago. This company does not handle maintenance request properly, if at all. They are certainly not handled in a timely manner, even in the even of an emergency. There has been an ongoing issue with pest that I have made the leaders aware of. Any issues in my home, they send the same" handy man to fix. Which is just some random guy with a pick up truck who can " fix things." These things are never done professional or properly. For example, I had a leak or some issue with my ceiling that result in some of the ceiling to fall down, he repaired it after weeks of me requesting someone take a look at it and he left it " undone" photos will be attached below. The ceiling went from white to yellow. He fixed the leak but did not complete the job, they left debris and dust everywhere and the ceilignis yellow. I asked them if he was coming back to paint or to fix the discoloration of the ceiling and they said " no" the job was closed. I reached out to the guy directly but to no avail. This was almost a year ago. Nex issue, pest... every kind you can imagine, bugs, rats, mice... etc.. etc. I reached out in reference to this issue. A company was sent out.. They never entered the residence, i never saw them or spoke to anyone about the issues regarding the rodents once i filed my complaint. I got a call from the office stating someone had been by and placed traps and moth balls outside. The issue was rats iNSIDE of my home. An infestation of rats, We caught a total of three rats and one mice in the timeframe in which we waited on them to come out. Still they never entered the residence. The moth balls help for a moment but eventually they returned. It is now warm out so we are seeing no signed of rodents. This is the only thing that has helped. We set our own traps and poison to mitigate the issue. Again, no one ever entered the home to see the source or how.why they kept getting in. As a result, my 7 year old was exposed to rat blood. The front office *( ANNA MENNEFEE) was helpful at first, she worked with me when I was late paying my rent some months. As a result of her help in the beginning, i feel as if my complaints or issues were being ignored. She event stated " i helped you, when you paid your rent late as if that was her reasoning for not responding to my request properly. As a. result of previous late payments, I was unable to access the portal this company uses to take payments. COVID 19 comes around, the governor issues a stay at home order. So of course I make the smart assumption that this company would not require me to drive in a payment. WRONG! I reached out to the company in April to let them know that I could not access the onoine portal to pay the rent and that I would not be able to drive into their office due to " required isolation." I told them that I would need to have access to this portal to pay my rent, i provided them with documentation that showed, i lost access to the portal months ago and that the portal would not accept my payments when i tried. Instead of them fixing this and waiving the fee. They argued with me about if i did or did not have access, despite having proof that i did not and had not had access for a long time. Basically they charged me a late fee for April 2020 because i couldn't drive my payment in or mail it through USPS overnight during COVD 19's peak! I plead my case with them a million times, provided all documentation needed, they lifted the fee and then tried it add it on the backend of this month to my surprise. This company charged me a late fee because their portal was not online when I attempted to make my payment, when i made this clear to them, their response is " pay the fee or we will file an eviction basically. The business is super shady. They help you and then try to stick you later for fees you dont owe. Anna mennefee, is completely unprofessional, she takes everything personal, will hang up on you and not pick up your calls intentionally. She had the nerve to answer my call twice and act like she couldnt hear me. I checked my phone during another call and it was working fine so she intentionally pretended she could not hear.

Sheila Gschwind is exceptional in all aspects! She is very knowledgeable about market conditions, quick to handle any issues that came up and went above and beyond for myself and my family! We are beyond impressed and grateful for her guidance in both selling and buying. Sheila is professional, thorough, personable and just a fun person to be around. More importantly, She knows her role as an advisor to her customers better than any real estate professional we have ever worked with. She uses a practical approach to positioning the property, supported by detailed facts and a very experienced steady hand. My advice to others that want to attain the highest value for their property, while minimizing the burden to them personally; engage Sheila as your trusted advisor and broker.

I am a disabled veteran. Used VA loan to purchase my first house. I looked at a house and told the agent to put an offer in. She called the listing agent (who was selling the house because his grandparents died and left the house to him and his uncle). All was well until my agent stated it was a VA loan. Damon Covert (the listing agent) said that he was not going to deal with a VA loan because it was too much of a hassle. He said because this was his own house he didn't want to put up with "VA $#*!". He didn't know that I was standing next to my agent when he ran his mouth. He then put my personal information on Google reviews when I posted a review about him. BH seems to spawn ignorant, unethical agents.

Bought a double wide and their inspection was a joke. We need thousands of dollars of repairs on things FHA should have kicked in for. Now my baby has no hot water, insulation all fell on the bottom of the house so it's freezing unless we use 2 heaters on top of the furnace, among multiple other issues. I won't ever work with this company again. Steve Katerberg was our realtor. Seemingly nice guy, crook at heart.

They will sucker you in and then after a few months bail and send you a cancellation notice for no reason.. then send you to a company they own at high risk rates.. once that cancellation is on your record you can't get insurance without it being crazy high..

Demands up front that you change your house door locks for brand new ones for her to give to her other realtors. And then goes and put them inside a master lock hook on top of your garden faucet to make it rust! The starting line is "Your house will sell in thirty days." to get your hopes up! After which, she sticks an old for sale sign in the front of your yard bending over. Comes noonday, she brings her company's photographer to move things round and then brings in an entire bandwagon for a noon day cocktail party! During open houses, she lets neighbors come in to use your restroom like it is her own home while inviting herself to your appliances. Sees nothing wrong in using your home to upsell her more expensive listing spilling the beans right into your face! During this time frame, you do not hear from her for several weeks as she is out of town. Her reason "Slow week for everyone." Does everything except sell your house and dodge at the final blow out before pulling out the for sale sign when you are out of the house. For each person she sends over, she expects you to drop everything to clean up and get out for them TO PARK so as not to make her feel uncomfortable. Once she has dropped you several times for cold feet buyers, she becomes even more impatient to make you vacate the premise as soon as possible. Escrow paperwork is coincidentally misdirected to your neighbor's house. Let us not talk about the darn good deal for special discounts after purchase when all the other houses in the street has already sold cheap. That is about the same time when she feels like coming over for a last minute farewell.

Document EVERYTHING when getting ready to exit from a contract with Pen Fed Berkshire Hathaway. I was charged clean up fee for the attic which contained landlord items. In my 5 years at the residence I never, not one time, stepped foot in the attic. None of the items were mine, as both the landlord and staff of McRae Road knew. Clearly, I had established a relationship with these staff during my 5 year stay. I felt totally abused when they charged me for a clean out fee of that attic. I had done a meticulous job cleaning the rest of the house, the garage, the outside fence and the yard. The place was move in ready. I did call to discuss this concern with the staff on several occasions with no success. This lack of integrity on the part of Pen Fed Berkshire Hathaway staff is appalling.

If I didn't have to give at least one star, I wouldn't give any. We were trying to sell our house By Owner (ourselves). I have had one Berkshire Hathaway agent stop in the day I put the sign in our yard. I've since had 2 more agents call me wanting to list our house. That is a Major Red Flag!!! Do not solicit my business. If I want your company (or any agent from that company) I'll call you. DO NOT CALL ME!! Unprofessional. It's like stalking. Every agent knew all the public details of our property. Would not go with Berkshire Hathaway to list home, too desperate.

No Star! There is a long wish list which the listing/seller's agent requires upfront before agreeing to sell the house. Strangely, all of which is catering towards the unspoken needs of the buyers! The company is keen on keeping a date with escrow! So once he or she has gotten it, you can be sure you are no longer wanted! Same day to go as soon as the buyers come in for the first walk through!

I rented a condominium at a golf resort in Naples Florida for 3 months starting 1/1/20. I told the broker that this was a first time rental for me and I wanted to play golf during my rental. In addition to monthly rent of $4,000 i paid and additional $400 to acquire golf membership privileges for my entire rental period. Months after the check cleared and RIGHT before I'm going to move in, I learn that I still have to pay extra fees to play golf at the golf course. When I called the broker to complain about the misrepresentation, he just said that everybody does that....

We bought a home adjacent to a commercial building managed by Berkshire Hathaway in Cheboygan Michigan. We had issues with snow and garbage container being shoved onto our property. Our garage sets lower than the parking lot that gets plowed in the winter so when the warmer temps hit we have water in the garage. Berkshire Hathaway of Cheboygan Michigan Agents Angela and Audrey showed no responsibility of the issue. We even had the police called on us because we put up a beautiful fence to keep it from being pushed onto our property. The police found us to be in compliance of the property line survey. I wouldn't buy a pair of roller skates from these trouble makers. This has been a 5 year ordeal. We finally got relief from this situation when the place was sold. Amen! What a relief!

If Mr Buffet doesn't get a better handle on what's going on at his titanium metal company In Henderson Nv it's going to cost him in the long run. I've never seen a company run the way it is at this facility they make positions for people that really do t have a clue on what's going on at the facility. Mr Steve Hackett just visited the plant last week and they seemed to pull the wool over his eyes. And they wonder why the morale at the job completely sucks. If I was the one looking into this I would really look into this new production coordinator talks a big game but isn't really worth the money you guy pay him. Value your employees instead of the value you put into these guys you leave to run this place!!!!

Jeff told us there was another offer on this home. 6225 McCords in Alto Michigan. We paid 590.00 for an inspection and offered 356,000 and wasted our money. The seller did not disclose the flue on the roof was bad and he conducted his own electrical work so the wires were backwards. I was told by Jeff that the screens that weren't on the chimney would be a total of 75.00 and the caps and the flue to be fixed would total 500.00. I called a chimney company and they told me 3,500 to 7,000 to fix the flue. The caps are 300.00 to 400.00 each and 75.00 each for the screen. Jeff made it seem if we asked the sellers for anything that we are asking for to much. Why would I pay 7,000 more than the asking price then be stuck with a water problem on the home because the chimney had no caps or screens to keep out water or animals. Then on top of that the flue was bad which was not disclosed because it is apart of the roof and the seller caulked it knowing the flue had issues. Also, Berkshire Hathaway is a nonsense to deal with, they don't like to release your earnest deposit. Took me 2 weeks to get my deposit back as if I didn't lose enough. His boss Jim Face is the broker and doesn't care as well. These are people who have been give. Their jobs because their dads were in the real-estate business. They do not care about getting you the funds, then they make you feel inadequate because you want something fixed. I would not recommend Jeff or Berkshire Hathaway for any home buyer. I was tired of the way I was treated. Then Mr. Face threatens to call the law if you request your earnest deposit back. If they have a review as I see they don't I will leave my review because this was ridiculous.

They will treat you like you dont matter. They do not practice due diligence and are unethical. i lost a home purchase and over $5k. They held onto an offer for days and by the time i found out about it, it was too late and a bad offer at that. After 4 attempts to get them to cancel my contract they have yet to honor my request. You would think they owned my home. Never enter into a listing agreement with these people they do not care about you, your families or your wellbeing. My true rating for BHCP is negative 100

I rented a property from them for three years. It was given to me dirty with stains on the carpet and yard dirty but I moved in anyways thinking all this would be fixed by my move in date and boy was I wrong I never paid rent late and also paid a couple months in advance. Then when it came time to move first of all if your purchasing a home you can't get out of hour lease which most places allow, Then you have to give a 90 day notice before you move which maybe it's just me but i believe that's a far stretch heck i wasn't even sure I was gonna close on my home within 90 days .Then once I moved out oh boy the Property manager gave me issues from the beginning kimber Davenport was completely unprofessional. It was like pulling teeth trying to get her to fix things in the house that were normal wear and tear and the only time I did hear from her it was through email which was nothing but threats and complaints from her never trying to resolve any issues or concerns. I'm sorry but I'm like how do you expect me to have things done to the property that weren't even done prior to me moving in ?? I even left the property way cleaner then how it was received it. At this point I feel like she's money hungry !!! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! YOU'LL GET MORE THAN WHAT YOU BARGAINED FOR YOUVE BEEN WARNED!!!

When my real estate agent said "don't worry, you can cancel this listing AT ANY TIME if you're not happy with my work/results, I believed him. Don't believe them about anything. He should have said, if he'd been honest, "you can cancel the listing anytime but my broker won't let you out of this listing or if you sell the property we'll sue you". I had Roger G. from Berkshire Hathaway in Auburn list an apartment building for me. The City of Lewiston gave me a letter of repairs that needed to be fixed. I fixed some of them and decided to sell the property for $40,000 under market value to allow the next owner to fix the repairs. I knew this would be an easy sell even if I listed it on my own, but I am not familiar with the paperwork involved in selling a preprty so I decided to list it through an agent. I got charged 10% premium which is extremely high, but I agreed to it and that is not my complaint. The city of Lewiston gave me the letter and it stated that I had to let the new buyer know all the repairs and had a list of instruction. I gave the letter to Roger the agent, and the agency. The instructions were never followed on certain disclosures that needed to be told to the new buyer. I asked several times if it was all set and I was told "yes, this is why you hired me" After I sold the property I got served with a lawsuit from the city for $25,000 for failing to file a single piece of paper. Fortunately I fought this in court and proved that I have told the new buyer of the problems on my own via text message and email. Unfortunately this still cost me almost $1,000 in a court ordered fine. I reached out to the owner of Berkshire Hathaway in his office in Bangor. He asked me to forward all the documents, and I did. He almost immediately sent me a certified letter stating they would not cover the fine of $1000 which was their mistake, since they are the trained professionals that I paid to make sure all the paperwork was in order. This is why they have a license, to ensure buyers and sellers come together legally on both side. I now have to take Berkshire Hathaway to court which I am in the process of doing. I paid them almost $10,000 in a sellers commission which they did not split with another agency. I chose to under price my property to allow for a quick smooth transaction and had an offer within 2 weeks. This was quick easy money for them, and all they had to do was make sure the paperwork was done correctly. I recommend if you use this agency that you pay a lawyer to go over all the paperwork. This is something you should not have to do when going through a listing agent for a basic real estate transaction with no real hoops to jump through. I strongly do not recommend Berkshire Hathaway for real estate services.
