I purchased a high end carpeting for my hallway and had nothing, but, a bad experience from beginning to end.
Salesgirl - Bad Advice - We had requested the upgraded padding, but, our salesgirl said it wasn't necessary. As a result, we have uneven carpet heights, (where the hallway carpet meets the bedrooms' carpet). This looks very unsightly and unprofessional. Plus, the padding is so thin, that it feels like you are walking on plywood! Not what we wanted, nor expected.
Installers -Poor Craftsmanship - Perhaps, the worse I've ever encountered! They are rude and come into your house blaring their music and talk nonstop, which, can be overlooked, if, at the end of the day, you got a good job. However, that is far from what I got. I have a 12ft. razor mark on my carpeting going straight down the hallway. When I made the manager aware of it, she said it was a "crush" mark from being wound tight on the roll. Should go away in about 2-3 weeks and after 2-3 vacuums. Well, over a month later and 12 vacuums, line is as visible as day one. It's either a razor mark from the preoccupied installers or else I was sold, unadvertised, 2nd run carpeting! To this day, three phone calls and over a month later, we are still waiting for resolution. The manager refuses to pass the info onto the owner, or else, he really doesn't care. We don't know, because, we never get a reply. The Better Business Bureau will be our next call.
If you have another place in mind to get your carpeting - GO THERE - I WISH I HAD!!!! BAD MANAGEMENT

Carpet constellation was excellent. Installers were courteous.
The installation of the strip at the carpet edge was very poorly done. They had not followed their directions and messed up where the carpet and tile meet.
Second try no better. They used a very thin cheap metal strip and left many very visible dents with their hammers.
Third time was the charm.
But our biggest complaint was their customer service. It took several phone calls with no responses before we could finally contact someone to do the job properly. Two of those calls were to the owner who never did return them.
At the end of the ordeal which took many weeks we paid our balance and wrote a letter about our experience. That was at least three months ago and we have heard nothing.
We would NOT recommend Bastain. There are many other good carpet dealers in the area. John and Laurel Kegley

They were very patient with me as I made decisions and sought a carpet in my price range. Provided all necessary prices to help me feel informed with no pressure.

We had a new floor installed in our kitchen, very happy with purchase and installation. They are true professionals.
