B&N has been great. I've been having really good experiences with their online ordering during lockdowns. Pickup service has been great too. Keep supporting real bookstores!

Terrible, terrible service. I bought a nook years ago and it died. Not unexpected... it did last longer than I thought. However, over the years I obtained over 500 books. The site is saying I bought 32. Really?! Customer service is rude and unhelpful. They will NOT advance a call to a supervisor upon request. If you need to update anything (like an email address) you have to reset the nook back to original settings (and lose everything you've bought because it's not in their library). THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LOST! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Shame on B&N. We received a gift card at xmas, pre-covid. We ordered a book which was set for publication in May, by the #1 author in America. May, June, July passed. In August we were PROMISED delivery would be 8/24. We just received yet another notice that the book is not available. Fourth notice. Horrible. This book is available anywhere.

First of all, the Barnes and Noble Website is completely broken. I tried ordering a nook book from Barnes and Noble online multiple times and every time the order went through I got a confirmation email saying the order was accepted. Immediately after this email I would receive another saying that my order was cancelled without a reason given. I then called the number provided at the bottom of this email to renew my order. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes and the costumer service agent asked for all of my information that I put into the website originally. I obviously didn't want to give my card number over the phone to someone who didn't even provide me with their name, so I just ended up cancelling my whole order. Suffice to say that I will be sticking to Amazon Kindle for the rest of my E book orders.

If you are looking to buy books outside of the US look elsewhere.
They will throw your books into a box without any packaging material and hope for the best.
When one or more books are inevitably damaged *you* will have to pay the return shipping cost. They will not refund this even though they did not pack the books adequately.
I would expect that a bookstore founded in 1886 would have learnt how to pack books properly by now.
They will also not respond to any emails.
Would not recommend.

Barnes and Noble has disappointed me greatly in the aspect of online delivery I ordered a book over 5 months ago and was told it would come in one month which already seemed like a while to wait. On top of that they never emailed me once updating me on if the book had been delivered or if it was on back order or anything. I understand we are in a pandemic but at this point it has absolutely nothing to do with the book I ordered months ago. I will not be ordering from Barnes and noble again and I advice you that it would be 10 times faster and cheaper to order from amazon. My in-store experience is not horrible the only thing I would say is you can get the same book 10 bucks cheaper at any other book store or even Walmart.

Placed an order then out of no where it gets cancelled with no explanation. Contacted customer service and there’s no reply whatsoever. Don’t order from this company.

I've had orderd a book as a guest and paid for express delivery from July 13th. My order summary said that my book would be deliverd by 7/17th. Then my second email says that my delivery is being delayed and I'll get my book on 7/24th. And now I still didn't get my book and trying to get a hold of the representive for over an hour with no answers. Never again that I'll order anythinf from this business again. Barns and Noble should lose businesses from their poor services.

I bought 3 books online from Barnes and Noble, but they never arrived. After waiting a month I called customer service and explained the situation. The rep. said they would have to start an investigation in order to give me a refund. I demanded a refund due to the fact that I had been waiting an entire month! The rep. said they would process the refund and I would see it in 3-5 business days. Three weeks later, many phone calls and hours of hold times, and still no sight of a refund. They keep telling me my refund has been processed, but my bank says the money has not yet been credited. This is insanity!

Trying to find the right words for this review, I would encourage people to shop other places. Places that don't encourage a view point that is contradictory to any other than the left. Promoting a book, a childrena book no less to insult the highest office in the land. This should never be appropriate or Ok. It's quite sad.

Great! Have been a member for a while. My biggest complaint was that my order took 3 weeks. Bit unusual for B&N but I’ll give them a pass.

I saw this particular book on Facebook, and certainly don't have to even open it up to see it purposely resembles so many political cartoons of our president, Donald Trump. I believe it is in poor taste; above what I expect from Barnes and Noble. ( I give it 1 star only because there is not an option for a ZERO.)

I am so appalled that Barnes and Nobles would be so disrespectful to the president by putting a children’s book in the store about a pig in the White House, using Trump’s face as the pig face. I did not vote for Mr Trump, but he IS the president and until he no longer is, should be respected. I am ashamed of Barnes and Noble, the author Faye Kanouse, and the illustrator, Amy Zhing. I will find another book store.

Barnes & Noble experience has a terrible return by mail service. Book holder purchased @ 24.95 not what I expected & did not support hardcover book.
Return shipping 23.35!! I was “supposed to know to call for a one time shipping label!! No instructions anywhere in box on how to return.
Never again, Amazon is far superior customer service!

Was charged twice for the books I purchased. When I called customer service, which took 30 minutes!! They “said” I would be refunded in 1-3 days. It didn’t take 1-3 days to take my money so why does it to give my money back?! JUST AWFUL. Never ordering from here again, EVER. Highly don’t recommend

Stay away from Barnes and Noble online. Their customer service is a big Zero!! I never received my books. They kept showing me they were in Illinois at a warehouse for one month so I called 3 times to cancel and get a refund. They don’t answer the phone for one hour and when they do answer you can’t understand a word they are saying. I have yet to be refunded and it’s been over a month!!! Beware!!!

I only shop here so Barnes and Noble stays in business as its competitor, Amazon takes over the world. However, I am definitely picking Amazon from now on.
I ordered some books and 2 candles. The candles came in broken and in huge chunks. It was a mess. I went to email customer service to let them know. Barnes and Noble does not have a customer service email address. I went to do a live chat next. That feature is also inactive. My only option is to call. I sat on hold yesterday for 25 minutes, then finally hung up. I called again at 8:30, they said they were not taking any more callers. Even though they say they are open until 9pm EST. I am currently sitting on hold for the third time. I am at minute 40 with no answer, and I have not been updated on any kind of wait time.
This is awful. Get with the times, B & N. Provide an email address or some kind of chat. We are past the era of sitting on hold for hours at a time. This is the last time I will shop here. I hope Amazon shuts them down

Since the pandemic is going on, I could only order from B&N online. I was charged for the books I bought and was charged AGAIN on they day that they were shipped out. B&N does this to make sure you have the money to pay, but again I was already charged. Don't order online if you don't want to be charged twice and take almost a week for it to drop off your bank account.

Barnes and Noble has failed in their obligation to deliver my order to me by 04/13/20. Tracking on my order started and stopped on 04/08/20. I wasted MY time using their bot chat which is absolutely worthless, then "live" chatted after waiting over 20 minutes to chat with a rep who was no help at all. He told me that he could see the order would now arrive by 04/15/20, but refused to e-mail or prove that info I could not view. He also refused to re-ship or transfer me to a supervisor. Chatted back next day with different rep who now told me order will arrive on 04/16/20. Still not here. I WILL NOT renew my B&N membership. Doubt they will be in business much longer the way they treat customers.

DO NOT order anything from Barnes and Noble online. I attempted to order a book from Barnes and Noble through their website. I usually walk into the store but because that is not an option at this time, I decided to order one using their online system. I clicked the box marked "gift" and entered the shipping address where the book was supposed to go but when I received the shipping confirmation seconds later, I saw that the shipping address was the same as the billing address. This was ordered as a gift and I manually entered the shipping address because it was different from the billing address. I immediately called them and was put on hold for more than 30 minutes. When I finally spoke with someone I was told that no changes could be made because the order was already getting ready to be shipped out and that it would arrive by April 22nd. I explained that the order would end up being sent back to them because the name and address didn't correlate but they insisted that there was nothing they could do. This was my first experience ordering from them and it was horrible. NEVER AGAIN.

Great in-store selection, as well as online! Had a great experience with customer service chat. My order tracking problems were solved in a reasonable amount of time; customer service reps are very friendly. Will definitely continue to use B&N for all my book needs!
