Good live music but tiny dance floor that is often packed solid. It's old timey dive bar with the over 50 crowd, decent bar food but the cleanliness of the place is not the best. It adjoins a cheap old motel and I wonder if some of the crowd uses it by the hour.

Good place for a meat and 3 ( or 2) lunch. Food was good , service was very attentive. There is a different menu for each day of the week. I had grilled pork chops. Very tender and flavorful. Sides were okra and Mac and cheese. Meat and 2 was $7.99 plus drink , tax, and tip. I'll be back .

I enjoy going to dance here. The band... Razzmatazz is great. This is an older crowd so if you are looking for something young and hip go somewhere else. If you want to dance and have drinks at a reasonable price then definitely try this place.
On a side note they do have great appetizers, burgers, etc.

This spot is a hidden gem. The food is seasoned & pleasing to the palate. I would highly recommend the grilled catfish (the right amount of seasoning w/ the perfect kick) & okra (appears to be fried hard.. the only way okra should be eaten, besides in gumbo)!! You'll thank me later!!!
Great spot for lunch. No crowd, so in & out!!!

This review is all about the lunch. I love this place for lunch! My favorites are the fried green tomatoes and the mac and cheese but I have been here four or five times and have liked everything I have had so far. So, get a meat and veg or a plate full of veggies and I think you will be happy. This lace is now one of my default lunch spots in this part of town and I'm getting so hungry writing this review!
The service has always been great, whether sitting at a table or sitting at the bar. Really friendly people that get the job done fast. I notice that there are a lot of regulars, and for good reason! There are lots of tasty things to chose from on the menu that will fill your belly.

Loud music is the key here. If that is your "thing" then by all means go here as often as you would like. Can get packed with people the later it gets, a few drunk ones too. Overall, I had a fair time.
Downside is they expect a cover charge on weekend nights, ya its only 5 bucks but still I would like to apply that to my beer tab. Also, the place is very crowded and leaves you little room to get around such as the bathroom.
The few waitress and bartenders take care of the place very well dealing with all the orders and request they get. If you come on a Saturday you get to hear live cover band music. Enjoy.

I went here a few weeks back and was not very impressed. There was limited parking out front, but there's a side lot you can park in as well. The lots were full, so I figured it must be a very popular place. When we went in, there didn't seem to be very many people there (which is fine, but surprising due to the parking situation) and it seemed to be an older crowd. It was karaoke night, so we listened to the locals sing their hearts out. The bartenders were very nice and attentive. I ordered two sex on the beaches, which tasted vastly different depending on who made them (one was much stronger, hah). The most interesting part of the night was one of the customers literally yelling about a topic that was a little distasteful (I'm not easily offended and thought it was kind of funny, but I could see how others could be turned off or grossed out to hear this while eating). While the whole night was amusing, I'll probably go elsewhere to get drinks from now on.

I had an AWESOME time hanging with my Birmingham Yelp fam at their doggy friendly event here! I was surprised at the quality of the food since I was expecting bar food. The mac and cheese was amazing and you will definitely enjoy the friend catfish!

Came in to eat and walked out because they smoke indoors here so I could not get past the ashtray smell to get an appetite. Was excited to try it because of the great reviews but felt people needed to know this in advance.

Pretty good food, but not anything special. I had the fried catfish, mac and cheese and squash casserole. The mac and cheese and squash casserole were not hot, and under salted. Banana pudding was great, as was the strawberry shortcake! Heather, our waitress, was busy, but super friendly!

Wife and I ate there about a month ago for lunch. Food was excellent. Only thing missing was remoulade sauce for the fried green tomatoes. We plan on eating there for lunch Monday. May have to bring my own sauce.

Stopped in today and I had the Chicken Parm! WOWZER, It was like a Party in my mouth. Chicken was prepared great, it was not dry but very moist. The marinara had to be homemade by a lil old Italian lady in the back it was so good. If you have the time and are in the area I would def take a chance and stop in for lunch you will not be disappointed . Last but not least the staff . I believe his name was Jake and hers was Sally. Man those 2 are so attentive to your every need and make you feel at home. Sally really takes the time to listen to what you have to say and shows she cares. 2 Thumbs up in my book, if I had more thumbs it would be more . I will defiantly be repeating!

Came here after we had been looking for a hotel for the night & we needed something to eat and drink. We were not expecting this bar to be so crowded & fun. It's a $5 cover to get in. Reasonable prices on food and alcohol. There are pool tables in the back. It's a tight squeeze in the bar on Thursdays Friday's Saturday's with the live band there. They have a dance floor too :) the grilled quesadilla was good. We had to go up to the server to order food Bc it looked like she was the only server for the night. She was very nice and polite :)

I was in Birmingham by myself and wanted to hear live music. Bar 31 was close to my hotel so I gave it a try. I sat at the bar and ordered a burger and fries. The burger was good, the fries were ok. The band playing was pretty good covering John Cougar to Jimmy Buffett to even Prince. The place was packed and lots of people danced. The clientele, from my judgment, was mostly regulars and mostly an older crowd but very lively.

Stopped by today for a quick lunch and I'm glad I did. I had the grilled pork chop, mashed potatoes with gravy and fried okra. I've been here before but only for drinks but my lunch was awesome! Apparently their "cook" isn't a "cook" at all. He's a trained chef and holds a pretty high standard for the food he represents and you can tell. My okra wasn't the store bought frozen crap and whatever the glaze was on the pork chop was spot on. My coworker had the meatloaf and by the looks of he's clean plate, I'm petty sure he enjoyed it as well... I'll most certainly be back. I'm all about supporting a local business. Eddie is running a good ship over there. Check em out sooner than later. We'll done bar 31, we'll done!

This is definitely a bar for any age group. They had a live band which was really good. Staff are friendly and fast about getting your order. I didn't eat but have heard there good is really good. I'm new to the Vestavia area and this is pretty much One of the few real bars. I will be back and its only 2 mins from my apt.

Great place to meet up with friends and relax. There is live music on the weekends and decent bands. Older crowd, but welcomes younger people! They have a couple pool tables too and big screens for football games.

Lunch at Bar 31 was terrific. The menu rotates daily. Its a meat and 3 or 4 place. We went on a Friday, they had pot roast, pork chops, and catfish for the main dish. I had the pot roast...omg...best ever. My compliments to the chef! Comfort food at its finest! Hubby had chop. Yes, it was all that. Fried okra and salad (Greek dressing) plus cornbread and drink. Jake and Sally were both attentive. Go and try it ... it won't disappoint.
