The program works well, my retention is the problem. I use the podcasts from Zero to Hero to add more to the learning. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn Spanish.

Babbel helps you memorise words in languages of your choice. I have been able to recognise words and utilise them in conversation fluently.
But I think Babbel needs to improve on its mode of payment which is quite a challenege for me.
However, it is a good application to learn words of your choice.

So far. the lessons are very user friendly and easy to understand. I'm learning to read the language but I don't know how I'll ever be able to converse with others since I'm not around the Portuguese speaking people much at all. I'm pleased with Babbel and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn a new language or two.

Babel is fantastic - found my (very basic) level straight away and plugs memorisation & reviews of old words (day-after-day) until it realises that you have learnt them to heart. 10/10
Thx to all of the team :-)

Works very well for me!
Different approaches work for different people. Babbel's approach to learning a new language does it for me. It looks, sounds, and feels life-like, you can pick the subject-matter areas that matter to you, and it offers a good mix of speaking, reading, listening, and writing. No doubt I will be more confident and resourceful when I have done enough of these.

A great course, very pedagogical and serious in an easy and encouraging manner. They are good at recognizing process, and where to improve. They also keep track of your individual progress and send personal messages with tips where to put focus. I am very found of this online course, would recommend to any language learner, at least on the beginner level which I am at.

I have a very patchwork knowledge of French and so I decided to start at square one with the course. I am so delighted with it. It’s easy to do a little bit everyday. The speaking and listening aspects are really helping with my accent and my comprehension skills. The sections on grammar are really helpful and easy to understand. Just to highlight a few things. It is the best French course I have come across very comprehensive and user friendly. I highly recommend it Very good value for money.

Babbel is definitely an app to consider. It is simple to use and gives something that I think many other apps are missing nowadays because they have become more like a video-game rather than a tool to apply to real life. This is what I like about Babbel, they keep things real, no fancy character, illustrations and other visually funny things but real good pictures used throughout the exercises. I find this an excellent way to learn a language. I also like the fact that you can review what you learned very quickly: you can get all the words / phrases in just a couple of clicks. Well done Babbel

over promises and under delivers. poor interface that seems very outdated. poor voice recognition. sketchy billing practices. if you purchase a 1-year subscription, you only have 14-days to try... no refund after 14-days.

I have been using Babble for a shirt time now and I like it quite a lot. I find the lessons are easy bites of learning and, coupled with the review section, I am learning without anxiety. The multiple learning methods work for me as I am a visual learner, but when I write things down it reinforces what I've learned. I have used other courses in the past, mostly Pimlesure and Rosetta Stone, and they were both good courses, but on both I got to a point and didn't make the progress I am having with Babbel.
I would like to have more oral feedback to make sure I'm using the correct pronunciation. I would like to be able to repeat the pronunciation more than once, especially for longer sentences. I also wish there was a way to participate in a conversation (in the lesson) by speaking as I do not have anyone live to practice speaking with, and it would be a huge help to be able to actually practice conversing.
Speaking of which, I do like the section that teaches you how to build a sentence by choosing the order that words and phrases appear in in a good sentence. I'd like to see more of that, please.
And I found the placement quiz very helpful since I already know some of the basic language. I like being able to choose the lessons that interest me.
One problem I have is that if I hit some key on my keyboard - I think it's the 'enter' key - in an inappropriate place in the lesson, it kicks me out of the lesson and I have to go back and start at the beginning of it again. I find this very frustrating. Why can't I go back inside the lesson and do part of it again? Or why can't I pick up where I left off in the middle of the lesson? It would be a "nice to have".
Overall, though, I will continue using Babbel. I feel I'm making excellent progress and it's fun and easy.
