I've had a Support Contract with Avon Alarms in Bristol since I first had them install the alarm a couple of years ago. I have always paid my Support Contract Renewal Invoice on time. In November last year the alarm stopped working so I called them expecting them to fix it free of charge as per the contract. The engineer came and looked at it and said the electricity supply was at fault and left.
I called an electrician who checked everything thoroughly including the fuses and he could find nothing wrong. In the meantime the alarm had started working again, probably because the Alarm engineer touched something in the alarm which started it working again.
You can imagine my shock at getting a bill from Avon Alarms for £125.58 for the engineer call-out. I refused to pay it as it should be covered under my support contract but this firm clearly look at any small print loop holes in order to stick a bill on a loyal customer.
They are now threatening to take me to court over this and as you can imagine I will not be renewing my contract with them and I would advise anyone thinking of dealing with this Company to avoid them like the plague.
I have a completely worthless contract for which I have been paying £75.00 a year. Rip off merchants.
